it's called razzle/dazzle, confuse 'em, make 'em doubt themselves nm

The real number rounds down to how much you averaged/ made an hour.

No matter how you figure, by the line, character, gross line, by the page, by the dictation minute  or whatever, it is what you can average out in a day of work.

You work 10, 12, 14, 16 hours and make $XXXX you divide your hours worked into what you ended up with

Kick 'em 2 the curb - U are 2 good 4 'em! nm

had 'em all going!

rofl

not if you don't tell 'em about it! lol
just keep quiet about it
You tell 'em FastRad!! sm
$78,000 last year. Want to see my 1099's?
love 'em

You tell 'em sister....

Cuz I'm just a grinch and have poverty of the soul because I didn't provide comfort and joy as what some perceive to be what the OP wanted.  Pity party is what she wanted and yes at this point I'm beating a dead horse, which is maybe what I'll call myself now.

As for the OP, I guess he got off her a$$ and finally made that call since according to all of the posters that supposedly support her claim she worked 24 hours in one day to get her lines in.  Now that deserves pity!

I stand by what I say, and I mean what I say.  If the OP wanted pats on the back and awwww so sorry, then so be it.  What I said is true when there's no work I don't sit on my a$$ and wait at all hours of the night and day, I look for another job.  Fortunately, I haven't had to do that.

And yes, NY MT is correct in that everyone wants their cake and eat it too. What took the OP so long to make that call and get those back up accounts?  It took for me to shake her up!  But you all got her back now, so she'll be just fine!

Tell 'em sister...

if the money in the paycheck is green, it will spend.

Furthermore, no one knows who off shores or not.  There could be companies that say they do not off shore, but they do.  How would we know?  I say if the pants fit right, keep them on and walk around like you own the place instead of worrying about something that is not in our control.

Furthermore, just because a company advertises no off shore applicants does not necessarily mean they do not off shore.  It just means they also hire US MTs.

Umm... duhh! Of course I have - I'm one of 'em.
What I was taking about is that companies use that as an EXCUSE when they're trying to make their case about offshoring. They claim that all their US MT's are going to up and retire en masse someday, and they'll need to send more and more work offshore.

Just one more strand in their big web of lies.
High five! You tell 'em!
That's just what I was thinking.
Love 'em.
Most are a lot more interesting than your usual hospital reports.  I found there were a smaller group of docs to deal with and can get really familiar with them and not searching to find doc names , new drugs and facilities as much.  They do usually talk fast but that is what my slower control is for;-)
Call 'em!
Never say never. Give the recruiter and a call and follow-up on it. Sounds like you're almost in the door, so don't throw in the towel yet.

Go get 'em, girl!!!
You tell 'em sista...
People want feedback....  Here's your feedback and I heard the same thing as you!  Not worth it!
Go ahead and warn 'em
but all too many people get carried away and make up all kinds of nonsense.  I have worked for a few companies and do know what is out there.  I have others to compare this company to.  So, that sure isn't the case.  Anyway, its a free board, post away...just warning others to watch out and to form their own opinions.
That's what I did...left 'em off my resume. GL to you.

I'm glad I turned 'em down...
I'm sorry to hear that...last summer, I was in contact with them, they offered me a job and I purchased a pedal from them...something about them just struck me as oogy, though, and I ended up changing my mind and turning them down. So, whew, guess I dodged a bullet.
Never heard of 'em - and I live in SC!
Do they have a website?
Oh, egads, that was stingy of 'em!
That's penny-ante wages!
You should call KS and tell 'em the situation (sm)

Ask to speak to the Director of Ops, KB.

Hang in there!  To leave no work and come to no work is not good.  Unfortunately, the hospitals and other clients take forever to assign IDs to KS MTs.

Yikes - with the pay cuts and all? You can have 'em.
nm
try archives, never heard of 'em. nm
x
Hahaha! That's too funny! You tell 'em! nm

Go get 'em. I will be rooting for you in absentia. nm
nm
Love 'em! They're my MT home (sm)
for the rest of my career I hope. I've been there 2 years and I cannot say enough good about the owners and the way they run the company. Plenty of work, pay never late, and I have never felt like an anonymous number on an employee roster there. If you have any specific questions, please feel free to e me @ ustshelby@hotmail.com and I'll try to help.
Some love 'em, some don't. DQS software drove me away about 3 mos. ago...nm

Several posts in the last month or so if you do a search. Some like 'em, some don't. nm
s
Thank you kindly - I'll check 'em out!
:)
I work there and am very happy. Give 'em a try!
Very professional, accommodating, and fair.
did that many many times...still calling, can't stop 'em
no call list is a crock. I have been on it since it was first implemented and as far as I can tell, it has never stopped any body from calling, particularly the automated phone calls.
I have a friend who works for them and she loves 'em. don't know about pay
nm
Doesn't cost anything to report 'em to

I'd tell 'em, 'From now on, send me ONE email/day -
And I'd turn off the IM if they abused it like that.
It's starting to feel like MQ there. Can't trust 'em....sm
Although I know people will jump to correct me, many of us have a very hard time getting our hours in. Line counts are down. I worked over 39 hours and 20 minutes last week--all I could scrape together--then got an E-mail from my STM telling me to put in for an hour of PTO since I did not have 40 hrs last week. What vacation you do accrue often goes for making up the hours you can't work because of the lack of work available. They spout off about excellence, commitment, blah, blah, blah, but they are not committed to their employees and outsource work as the not looking good poster said. Unless they are hiring for unusual shifts, I wonder why they are hiring at all. You can easily have 5 accounts and no work. Who knows what they will do next? Pay cuts? That's my bet. They can give us the tough economy talk again to justify it.
I'd tell 'em they could have their foot pedal back
Don't forget, if they can take legal action for return of a little used foot pedal, you most CERTAINLY can take legal action over nonpayment for the lines they gypped you out of.
It is First Choice Medical and they are a great company. Nothing bad to say. Try'em. nm

Great place to work - give 'em a try!
:)
The last 3 I applied for called ALL of mine! I did give 'em a head's up, tho'. :) nm
.
Did find a Wright Watson Sten-Tel in Austin if their site isn't old. Find 'em with Google. nm

What good does it do? They've lied, they've betrayed us.

They've taken all they are going to take from me.   I am not going to waste any more time being angry.   I hate the way things ended, but I refuse to accept the blame for any part of it because I know that was a lie too, even though they did try to blame the MTs.  I know part of the problem was quality issues, but QA wasn't to blame for that either, although they have been.

It is time to pick up and move on.   I think mgmt will reap what they sow.   For those who worked on the main account Webmedx is still hiring, though the best time slots have already been taken.

What the heck? I've never heard that in the 8 yrs I've worked here. sm
Go back to your STM or over his or her head.
It's Monday. Everyone plays catch up on Monday. Give 'em
s
Since you've brought it up, I've stopped SM

giving the negative info because every time I have in the past I am called a disgruntled ex-employee or told that my experience has no relation to what the company is like today.

I won't repeat the information I've given in the past, anyone can find it on searches.  I've decided to just let the people have their experience with the company and that experience will validate everything I've ever said about those people.

The same people own and run that company--they may have new names doing the management, but it still runs the same way.

You've got it ~ you've hit the nail on the head....

I can Google until dawn and still not find John Smith in NY - you know the neurologist...  Cut me a break!  I've now learned to ask my online company for a list of referring physicians (since none of the accounts are in my state) and also ask for websites for the hospitals, but I still don't take more than 5 min of my own time to find referring physicians.  I send it right through with a verify cc:...

As far as making an educated guess, I would only do that if it was my own account and I know the dictator well.  For the online company, it is their responsibility to make that educated guess as it is their client, not mine.  I leave that up to the company to make assumptions; this way it is on their back, not mine when it comes to the legality of the report.  Ultimately, the physician is responsible when signing that report or there should be clause on those reports that state dictated but not read.  If that clause is not there, then it is the physician's responsibility to know the content, not the MT.  An MT can only transcribe what they hear and really should not be making educated guesses on anyone since we live in a world of sue-happy patients and their malpractice insurance is so high.  If there is a question, it needs to go the dictator to resolve.

JMO - been doing this for over 20 years.

I've been a QA 15 years and I've never heard
of any company only paying for the actual Keystrokes of the blank. You would literally make less than minimum wage that way. Waaay less.
I've come here for as long as I've been...
...an MT, for the same reasons all of you do. I don't scan the boards looking for false accusations, but when something comes up that does involve me, I would like the opportunity to defend myself. That's all...
I've used it before...sm
If you are thinking of going with a company with the beginning letter of "e" and ending in "Z"....you will not be getting paid for spaces.  They allow ONLY 8% for spaces, which IMO, is retarded.  The platform is very easy, but this particularly company has it set up to NOT count spaces, you will be typing your fingers off it seems.
I've been doing this for more than 11
between 250-350 lines an hour where I am now, without killing myself. At Medware, I was lucky to get 200 lines an hour.
I've only seen 1. sm...
And it was at www.transcriptionoutsourcing.com . It doesn't say this or much of anything else on their website. I think I got this as a link from an MTDaily ad that had a different company name listed and when you clicked their email, the Transcription Outsourcing web site is where it took you. I'll look around and see if I can find the original ad. It was a small company. Good luck in the meantime!
I've got?? i think this is better said I have 12+
nm
I've been there too ... and it's getting very old
I've accepted offers with and tried just about everyone. So far, the one I trained on today has been the best to deal with. The trainer also told me she has been on this account for many, many years - and in that time has only run out of work twice, due to hurricanes. I'm getting very, very tired - I just want to find the right fit. I've found quite a few WRONG fits (and I'm not a newbie - I've got 13+ years on me). I figure, at this point, I want to pick the RIGHT ones, not just ANYone. I think I'll talk to DH some more and see if we can work something out. Who is the *&%* Company, it's late, I'm tired and I can't figure it out. If you want, and can do it, e-mail me separately. I have to make a decision with them soon. Thanks so much for at least your honest, yet positive, input. It's refreshing on these boards.
I've have been doing (sm)
some work for them lately. The stuff is mostly medical conferences and symposiums where people are giving talks. You generally get their Powerpoint presentation to help with drug names and doctor names. I did have one nightmarish assignment where there were about six people sitting around a table all talking at once and I was supposed to figure out who was talking when. The rest of them have been pretty good, though.
