New to Transcend, holiday confusion. sm

Am I expected to either work Thanksgiving or Christmas and do not automatically get these holidays off?  I am not able to get the lines to qualify for PTO, and so do not care about not getting holiday pay, but I am now wondering whether I even get these 2 holidays off.  TIA!

MDI/FL/Transcend Rad Holiday
Does the MDI/FL/Transcend holiday bonus apply to radiology accounts as well?  If so, since pay is per report, how is the bonus calculated?
transcend holiday pay
Does anyone know if Transcend Services pays extra to work the holidays???? Thanks:)
transcend holiday pay
Holiday pay is 3 cpl for typing and 1.5 cpl for editing
Typical holiday at Transcend - no work!

They musta sent all my stuff over to India so they can all get new saris for their next holiday.    Meantime, there goes my lunch for 3 weeks.  Ya happy now Transcend management?  You have managed to put us all in the poor house.  Hope your summer cottages burn and your boats sink.

Sorry for the confusion
I don't work for FN.  Just thought they were asking about what rad MTs make in general.  I work for a hospital, and no we are never out of work, but if that were to ever be the case, we would make our downtime rate.
There seems to be name confusion. Does TTS
stand for something?
Name confusion
There is definitely some name confusion going on here. TT and TTS are two different companies. I think a lot of people are getting the two confused. TT as far as I have heard is a great company to work for. TTS is the one to run far far away from.
There seems to be a lot of confusion there. SM
At least, more so than usual and many of us have a sick feeling that something is going to happen and it will not be good.

I would not encourage anyone to join the company, at this point. This uneasiness may be going on at other companies, it may be sign of the times concerning MT, but it is very strong at Spheris.
confusion
In the next few months, when I move, I may switch from working in hospital setting to working at home. I have been doing Radiology, Radiation therapy, EEG's for 16 years. Questions: what are the acute care four basics, and could radiology be one of them? Also, at hospitals we go by minutes. Unsure of how much I type that would be judged by lines.  Any people here, or companies, strictly Radiology?
SPI confusion
How do they announce these things to employees? I've been with them 1-1/2 years and the branch I work for never seems to be affected by all the turmoil I hear about. I know there was a managers' conference in Nashville a couple of weeks ago but my supervisor has not sent out any layoff announcements or other bad news thus far. If you get laid off officially, can you qualify for unemployment? Thanks.
SPI confusion
The only email I got last week was one advising that we'd all be paid on the same Fridays, instead of some MTs being paid on the alternate Fridays, and how to make the switch regarding our production sheets. SPI is also running 2 ads in Advance magazine for new MTs. The hiring versus layoffs issue is confusing to me!
Confusion
The tech left me 2 messages as well, but I was not here. I was going to take the job, but I could not touch base. Then, the new recruiter (they just changed their HR department) contacted me and we worked things out. She e mailed me all the forms, which maybe you need now. If you want the job, just go ahead and call and ask for the new recruiter.. I am sure they will put you through. Good Luck, it will all work out!
No - it was not yours. Sorry for the confusion.
Must have been deleted. Sorry for the confusion, it does look like I was talking to you, but I wasn't ;-)
Sorry for confusion!
I worked for KS at home on Son's XP because the account (acute care not radiology) required it as Vista was not compatible. It was a Clinic in Ohio. Since I'm in the office at a major hospital I cannot work FT for KS.
MQ packet confusion
I also live in NE and I have not received my PACKET let alone the pre-packet phone call. What is going on here?
Confusion..TT/exText???sm
Now it seems there are a lot of good postings regarding TT..but what is this about the deduction for headers/footers? Is that a TT thing. I have applied to TT (not heard back yet) but I have never seen a co. deduct for head/footers....this seems quite unreasonable...it should either be included in the count or not...now I'm scared. Please clear this up if you can.

My bad - not Allstate - sorry for confusion.
I'm breaking my fingers now, lol.
Correction - sorry for confusion
I apologize for not checking this before -- I just found a problem with my suggestion, so here's the deal:

You are better off forcing the format - as you did to h:mm:ss (or hh:mm:ss), to ensure that all cells display consistently. This does force you to have to enter more digits for hours though.

There is a shortcut for entering data -- for 00:05:12 (5 minutes, 12 seconds), you can type: 0:5:12

For 00:05:01 you can type 0:5:1

This may be more foreign than just adding the extra leading zero, but if you're hyper about cutting every keystroke, you can....

Then when you add down a column, there's nothing special to do in the sum.

Sorry for any confusion.
Not confusion to me - I like the variety

No confusion to those of us that actually read the post!
Thanks for clarification :-)
I would leave MQ off, there has been a big change in the last few months. Too much confusion. nm

holiday pay
Do most companies provide holiday pay?
No holiday pay?
I do not work for Spheris, but that is the most selfish/ crasiest thing I have ever heard. I hope I don't sound like an idiot here, but is that even legal to have to work on a holiday without getting extra pay (apparently, it must be) ..but, I tell you what, I would be taking off every single holiday. I can understand if you were IC or SE or if they offered different incentives... but EMPLOYEE?
holiday pay
Does anyone who works for DRC/Acusis remember if there used to be paid holidays or has it always been just premium holiday pay?  I've only been here since March, but I was under the impression when I hired on we had 8 paid holidays???
no holiday pay at DSG. nm
xx
holiday pay
well, i'm not sure where people on here are getting their information. the new policy states you have to make your line quota 6 out of the last 8 pay periods and be employed there at least 6 months. it isn't that unreasonable
So what's their big holiday?
?
What holiday?

IC Holiday Pay?

If you are an IC, are you asked to work major holidays?  How many do you work?  Do you get a special line rate for working the big holidays? I wonder what the line rate is for holiday pay at most companies?

What's holiday pay?
Where I work as an IC, everyone who is normally scheduled for that day of the week is expected to work unless approved to take off in advance.  Experience tells me that there is usually little to no work on the holidays, though.
holiday pay
i get time and a half - 13.5 cpl - 6 major holidays
holiday pay??
I get the same pay as always.  I need to apply where you work.
Holiday Pay
You negative people just slay me. Did you not get the email from Management about there being FULL management and supervisory staff working the holidays? If they get paid for the holidays I'm sure they deserve every dime they do get. All you have to do (from my experience working the past several years with TT on holidays) is sign up to work the holiday and you will get paid lines and a half. There will be work, there always is. Now whether it's an account that will be your comfort zone will be another question. They can only give us the dictation the doctors dictate. They can't create something. I'm just really defensive when it comes to TT, they've been really good to me because I've been a good worker for them and plan on continuing as such.
Holiday Pay
I forgot to mention in my previous post...why don't you build up PTO like TT gives? Then you can take a holiday and get paid. Times are lean now and you have to make some sacrifices just as TT has to do I'm sure. Some people think that just because there is a company they are making dollars hand over fist. If I had a company that offered people to accumulate PTO why would I want to give them free money and pay them for doing absolutely nothing? Good luck in finding somewhere these days that will give out free money. Sounds like you're more interested in a handout.
Holiday Pay
I work for three services; at two I get $.03 per line extra and the third I get 15% extra of whatever lines I've done.
Holiday pay
Well work then. The BENEFIT is you work from home. You forfeit some benefits in exchange for others. Get over it. Guess you didn't mention they give you a Christmas gift though. How many MT companies do that for their HOME BASED MT's?
It's the holiday
With short work weeks, you'll likely hear from them next week. Good luck! Great place to work!
I just TAKE the holiday. If they don't like it,
_
Holiday pay
Don't blame you for being miffed. They say you only get holiday pay if you make your line rate. I don't know how many times I have been suckered into working a holiday and sat there all day for nothiong because I could not make rate with no work. Won't do it anymore unless I can get a guaranteed wage for sitting around waiting for work and totally ruining my time with my family.
Holiday pay
Your supervisor can approve holiday pay for you if you did not make your hours because of NSA - so take heart, you should get your holiday pay as long as you are putting in a ticket for your NSA once a day. That info is per one of the super's.
Holiday
It has been my experience that usually there is not much work on the holiday and if you check in a few times and if necessary type a few reports there is no problem.
holiday incentive pay
...is something I'd like to see
holiday question to R
Where did you see the must work 3 holidays thing-it is not in the handbook and nobody told me that.
OSI holiday pay and raises
I predict that the holiday bonus will last through Thanksgiving and Christmas, and then disapear like the work does overseas. No way are they gonna pay that ALL year....no way are they gonna pay raises either, cause no one will stay long enough to earn one!
How bad was the holiday slowdown?

just a day.. or a few days??

Holiday slow down?
Does it seem like the 4th of July holiday slowdown is starting already?
Holiday? What a joke...sm
Are there any companies out there that actually pay their MTs holiday pay? Amphion makes you use your hard-earned, very-slowly-accru, or is there better? Just doesn't seem right. I would think they could pry their wallets open a little bit wider in this respect.
No, you don't have to ask to work a holiday (sm)
I have the same problem with working past my usual quitting time (getting old, you know- LOL) I usually just send an email to Deb (or I guess to support) and say, I'm tired, will make up on weekend.  Have never had a problem.  Actually they are probably glad to have the help on the weekends.  They are pretty flexible, especially when work is low.  Don't hesitate to call them or email them for questions.  I like it here too.
Do you have to ask to work on a holiday...
when you are scheduled off?

Another question when out of work-do you have to keep working until your 8 hours are in once the work picks up or just make up that time later. I have a hard time working past a certain hour in the day and in the past, just made it up during the week/weekend. I don't want to get on the bad side of 'em. Love it here.
Holiday lull
I never had a lull, there was about 1/2 when had to wait for work, but other than that has been pretty steady.
