I left in 6/07 after I took a $600 a month
cut in pay when they did away with the incentive per pay period, cesspool, nitpicking everything to death. It was funny, I had worked for them for 12 years but all of a sudden nothing I did was right, after receiving--when they did QA-99%+ ratings. Also, NO flexibility in schedule, just to name a few.
I cannot say enough good things about Keystroke, not just one month but years
I remember when they were having growing pains and I was with another company and saw them on this board. Lee even got on to defend her company. At least she cared and nothing but good things have happened to this company. She still cares. Recently complaints were of running out of work and needing secondaries, and high insurance. She contacted all MTs and has been working on and from what I understand is correcting all that. She is a hands on owner and appears to deeply care for the Transcriptionist even though she cannot see our faces.

All of my posting is from hands on experiences and if for 2 years I can say this is where I want to retire after all the other companies I have had to go through, I am only trying to help and not post pie in the sky hoopla to rope anyone in. This is a down to earth, straight shooting company that I am sure is in it for profit but deeply cares for the transcriptionists who work for her and not make that profit while we eat 69 cent pot pies because our pay checks are so crummy. it takes time even for a good transcriptionists to get familiar with a new account but if the dictation is fairly distributed (I mean first in, first out, unless other arrangements are made between you and the company) then there is hope and a chance to make a living. I don't think it is fair to complete with your team leaders for dictation because they will always win and you will be left with what they do not want as they have dictation goals too with some nationals along with supposedly helping you. That is my 2 cents.
Ex-SS'er myself. Left a month ago and never

looked back!  I have nightmares about that place.

I left after one month. I was constantly
switched between accounts (three times on one Saturday because there was no work). The pay scale is convoluted and low. The staff was nice. Interestingly, I learned that my supervisor quit a few weeks later.
I just left Diskriter a month ago

and had some unused PTO.  Anybody know how long I'll have to wait to get this? I tried to e-mail payroll to ask, but it won't go through because it's not an internal e-mail.  Thanks for any information...

I don't know the situation since I left almost a month ago, but

for weeks anyone who looked at the backlog reports could see lots of 0 in the minute column, so it isn't like I'm making the no work situation up.   Yes there is a ton of work on some accounts, but when you ask to be put on one of them and told no what are you supposed to do.   I more than made a good faith effort to adjust to try to get lines in.

If you're happy there great, but there are many accounts and multiple STMs, so unless you had the same account and same STM I did then you don't know the story as I do.   If you read the boards the past month or so I'm not the only one with this same story.

I just left there last month after 2 years -
I had been really happy with my job until about last November. I finally even applied for and received unemployment. Not only was my line count down from 20,000 a pay period to sometimes 7000-8000, but that also meant my line rate of pay was down because of their tiered schedule. It did not seem to matter how much I asked or complained about the work and begged for more, there was always an excuse.
If things are still the same, the owner is great, but you wait a month for your first check ... sm

and the pay is rather low ..... it was by character count ... amounted to about 7-1/2 cpl.... but the work was easy, clinic stuff.  I have no idea what she pays for VR, though.   She is a professional and good to work for.

Good luck!

Been here about a month, but worked for them 3 years ago and never should have left.
I left the first time cuz DH (now my EX-DH) was less then cooperative to say the least.

I LOVE it here.
Wished I would have left after a month. I regret that
nm
Hunred bucks says it's TT - exactly why I left after a month. Happy now.

The HR person took files with her and really messed things up when she left. She was sm
the rudest person I have ever talked to, and Keystrokes is much better off without her.
I left a month ago, and couldn't be happier! They are the pits! Good luck. nm
nm
Evidently things haven't changed since I left. Sounds like they've gotten worse - LOL
nm
Must be the new and improved way to
recruit? Just makes me nervous. You know how some people don't test well - I just don't like interviews. Most MTs I know are more on the shy side - maybe even borderline hermit :-) Not sure who are the top 10 you mentioned so I guess I will just keep my fingers crossed. Thanks for your response.
Improved ISR?
What is the new platform that is supposed to be more efficient? I know what we have now is NOT efficient. I have been making the same tedious corrections over and over and over again for close to a YEAR! The current ISR is most definitely not learning.
Has Soft Script improved at all lately. nm
:
Emdat is improved from the problems
mentioned about the spellchecker and foot pedal.  It does not do everything Word does, but is okay if you have a good account and put in all your quick corrects.
Transcend has improved in the last two years...
I have stayed throughout, but many people have left and come back. We have better communication, better benefits and more importantly, a better platform.  We have a 401-K match, and I received a nice Christmas card with a $25 gift card.  No company is perfect and I do know Transcend struggled for a while years back - but I can't complain.
Has BeyondTXT improved over the years? sm
Just wondering since it will be new to me.  Thanks!
Has Spheris improved any since 2007? I saw an add SM

and was thinking about applying. I worked for them before all the changes happened.

Thanks.

They have improved the platform recently and it's much quicker.
While the accounts I am on are high ESL, with the QA support and the community website for samples, I actually do well and like the accounts. Pay is always on time, the incentives are good. I like the company. You may too.
Has Ascend paying on time improved?
I see Ascend is needed radiology Transcriptionist and I just want to know if things are changed since the archives I have read.
I have to admit my line count has improved since reading the board
I see how everyone else is doing, and then I can set goals for me, though I am too shy to be on the goal board yet. I have to thank the board for that. It teaches me what is possible, and also that we can only do our best. I have to agree totally about how it has been a godsend.
I was told several new accts are coming on this month and also next month, so
I'm not worrying.
Pay period goes from 1st of the month to the 15th, then 16th to the end of the month. sm

So, I guess you could maybe get by with less than 1000 a day, although the incentive tier would make it worth your while to do a bit more.  I am using ExText, and yes, I find it easy to use, but then I used it for a year with another company.  I think their other platform is Mongoose, and I know nothing about that, so really cannot say.

Yes, they are hiring now.  In fact, there is a $500 sign-on bonus.  I think it is all just acute care.  I'm sure they would love to have someone with your experience.  Rhonda Durham is the recruiter.  I am sure she could answer any of your questions.  I am happy to help too, if I can, but I am relatively new.  The account I am working on is mostly psych, it seems, and I am loving it.

Another nice thing, their benefits start after 60 days, not 90 like most.

Good luck to you.

TransHealth starts 1st day of month after month SM
you start, BC/BS, good rate on single, don't know about family premium.
Last month was slow on my account..but this month (sm)
we've been swamped...
The new insurance is very reasonable. I pay $200/month and they pay $200/month. sm
Unfortunately, I have had to use it a lot since it changed and I am very happy. They have covered everything.

The insurance is actually $80 cheaper per month than I paid at the local hospital, which is a large employer.

Has anyone ever left Keystrokes and gone back? I left a few months ago and realize that I made a

nm

It is as simple as filling out a form. I did it when I left an MTSO and when I left sm
a non-MT position at a company years ago.

What company? I did not know that any of them offer 401K anymore.
No. Expect good things, and good things will come

$$ per month

I am trying to compare nationals versus working at a hospital.  Please respond if you have time.

For all of you working for a national, what do average making per month?  How many hours per day?  Do you work for one doctor, a clinic, or a hospital?

I, personally, would like to make $2500 to $3000 per month but don't.  Is that unrealistic?  Currently, I only average around $1800 and this is with no benefits; I have flexibility but no benefits.

What transcripton platform do you guys find to be the most productive for you?

I realize you can't have everything, but you do have to live; also, I am trying to stay home because of my son, i.e., taking him to school, being there for school functions, sport's activities, etc.

$$ per month
I make around 5-6K per month and have done so for 4 years running. I work around 45 hours a week with rotating accounts. I do get a high line rate of 12.5 per 65-character line.
A MONTH! What do they tell you when you
call or email them? I'm not waiting a month. I was hoping to get started this week as it is a new pay period and all. Wow. Good luck to you.
about a month
s
Exactly - that's why every month...sm
when they post the anniversaries there are plenty of employees with the company with 1-27 year anniversaries.
In my second month with MW on EXT..sm
I have had very few issues. For the most part the sound quality is good. A couple bad docs but that is par for the course for a facility that size. Several ESL but some of them are better than the English-speaking I have done in past! I have had no issues making lines if I stay on-task **grin** I am happy I went with them. Hope this helps.....
Been there almost a month now -sm
I don't mind it at all. It didn't take me long to get used to everything. I did get paid and I think fairly. I check my line counts in my own way and I've found them to be perfectly accurate.

Every job is going to have difficult dictators. You know what they say, there's one in every crowd (okay maybe with doctors, there's more than one), but you'll have that anywhere.

They're extremely professional and treat you the same. I agree with the other poster, don't expect anybody to hold your hand there. So if you can stand on your own 2 feet, go for it.
P.S. I pay about $200/month

for two people and this is the highest end insurance (BC/BS PPO) through my hospital.

I was with them for about a month and during that month
I had maybe one week of work. The rest I was out. Pay was so so. QA was a little strange about fixing things that were not wrong to begin with (changing six weeks to six week when it should have stayed weeks). I am still puzzling over that one. Anyway, more often than not, QA was wrong, but you could not tell them that.
it's the 1st of the month after your - sm
90 days are up.   So if you got hired Feb 15 then your insurance would kick in on June 1
Just in the last month
there was a post here about someone not being paid. My experience is from a couple of years ago, but in the two years since, I've seen posts here from time to time from people complaining about not being paid. Search the posts from the last month...you'll see someone just complaining about not being paid by them.
$26/month -- nm

I got one of those too a month ago or so
I believe this is from the same joint that is recruiting for the sQuid. I was tempted to look into it at the time but I had heard that the health insurance benefits offered by *S* had gone down the crapper. If you're interested, I'm sure you have nothing to lose. It would be nice if you could get job details without having to spend hours on testing first.
Was she AC for only a month or somebody else?
?
last month it was

Transtech was the greatest. This month's featured flavor -- Keystrokes. I am getting whiplash watching the stampede from place to place.

Been there just over a month
and I LOVE it. My production has doubled from that of my old job (I am now doing at least 2500 lines a shift). The pay is always on time and is direct deposited. I have a great ER account and always have tons of work. They did get a ton of new accounts recently, and that is why the have been hiring lots. I would recommend them to anyone.
I pay less than $200 a month
Hospital employee status through Diskriter. Different plans with different rates are available (depending on which hospital), but I have the most expensive choice available from my hospital(PPO).
that would be *A* month. sorry

RC-pay is once a month
Pay is once a month.
