Keystrokes gave you no work and then you just got laid off at another job - all this in a few months. Maybe it is your quality of work??

I'm beginning to see a pattern
and that being how every time new accounts are brought on, and more MTs hired, then they are 'temporarily' spread onto other accounts, driving the workload into the ground. I am no manager, but there has got to be another way. I've been trying wait for all this to normalize, and every time it does, then it quickly deteriorates into a new account coming on board situation. I cannot keep rearranging my hours dramatically to compensate. Been doing this way to many years to take all the crappy hours/days to make ends meet. As great as MDI is, they must do something differently or else they'll just have to keep retraining, rather than keeping their good help.
Does anyone else see a clear pattern of eroding
Accepting work from places like this is detrimental to MTs everywhere. There are better places to work.
Ominous pattern, WebMedX?
I recently posted this but will reiterate: Do recruiters get paid by the person tested?

I applied in the past, was told no openings, then called right back and said yes we actually do have an opening, so I tested asap, passed that *and* the interview test and *then* told sorry no openings.

So it makes you wonder if the recruiter gets paid by the interview... the other explanation is an inept process/processor so take your pick :)
Do you notice a pattern of lack of work
You mention it's hard enough to get your lines.  How many accounts do you have?  I'm an MDI MT and really concerned that we will be going from the frying pan into the fire.  I just wish we could get some definitive answers.  It almost makes me wonder how Dorothy or Larry would feel if they had put so much into this deal only to have the major questions go unanswered.  I highly doubt they would have kept investing so much time and work into the deal if they couldn't get the answers they were looking for.  They would have given up and moved onto something else, but they expect us to keep plugging along and doing the work all the while wondering what is going to happen to our livelihood.
Yes, thanks for noticing!
I can't blame anyone for being skeptical, I would be too. It is what it is -- I'm just an MT who works there, and it's a great company which deserves a blatant kudos. They aren't hiring right now to my knowledge, so no benefit meant for me in the post. I'm sure there are other small companies that are just as great, but you never hear about them because their turnover is so low and it's hard to get in the door. Again, I really just hope these smaller companies will not die out before work starts coming back from overseas, if it ever does.
Anyone else going from DQS to ExText and noticing

of your line count off the top to account for headers which is not fair because none of the headers are the same for every facility.  It doesn't matter to OSI because they take 17% of your total lines anyway.  This is common knowledge to anyone who has ever had a supervisory position at OSI.  This is thievery plain and simple and matter of fact I left OSi and went to MedQuist.  A lot of people don't like Medquist but I make twice the money that I made at OSI.  DQS is a much better program than ExText.

The post was about going from MedQuist to Transtech and making a lower line count.  I don't know about them but maybe they do the same thing as OSI but I doubt it or there wouldn't be so many happy employees there.  If it doesn't work out for me at MedQuist my next step will be to Transtech.  17% of my work?  No thank you.

You are right too, we are only noticing now that it affects us.

Have been noticing all the posts for SM
companies that the pay is EXTREMELY low.  I can't help but wonder what is going on and where it is going to end.  There is no other profession that I can think of where the pay is as low as this one, and yet the knowledge we need to do this job WELL is not exactly easy or is just something anyone can do.  It just blows me away that we are being taken for granted in this profession!
Or, maybe you were looking for "didn't".. Thanks for noticing that I would have failed the

Anyone else going from DQS to ExText and noticing lines are harder to get? (sm)

Both accounts are about the same difficulty, just find ExText more cumbersome and where I used to do 1200 lines in 6 hours on DQS I now take every bit of 8 hours and sometimes that doesn't do it. Am i just getting slow to learn new things or has anyone else noticed this same thing?

DSGrs...Are you guys noticing the increasing ESLs???
I have been working on 2 accounts for a while. They used to be pretty good accounts. It seems like everyday there are more and more ESL dictators which means I get less and less lines daily.
