Are your referring to Dictaphone Extext? Which Nuance system?

Maybe Nuance owns them, so they are

Nuance is the parent company of Dictaphone. Dictaphone makes ExText.
s
Nuance/Dictaphone
They partner with MTSOs who use their product. When a client signs on with Nuance, they are then matched up with an MTSO that uses Nuance's product.
Did Nuance by Dictaphone?
Can someone give me the website?  TIA
I really wish Dictaphone-Nuance
We are out of work. Dictaphone keeps the work and sells it to India for a penny a line. They have a good wage over there and we are going hungry here and can't pay the bills. The alternative is for our MTSO's to stop relying so much on Dictaphone and finding another system. Beating a dead horse I know.
What is the Nuance/Dictaphone/Ex-Text

Does Nuance own Dictaphone?   Is Ex-Text solely a Dictaphone platform?   Is Nuance also an MTSO--do they hire MT's directly?

Focus/Nuance - Dictaphone-offshore
Focus is the offshore subsidiary of now Nuance also known as Dictaphone - they have just formed an on-shore team thus all the new positions - temporary to be sure - they will take any account and then throw it offshore after a while
They are located near Boston, bought out by Nuance (Dictaphone)
currently serving US clients with US labor only as an option. Which is why there is now a US QA team, and perhaps all US transcribing team. Great people, benefits, and job openings. I was the OP who wrote a while back offered a high hourly rate for QA and did a lot of research on them. They are now part of Nuance (Dictaphone) umbrella and I believe a good place to work for. However, I decided against going there for personal reasons, decided to remain with my present employer, but would not hesitate to join this place after doing much research. Also the training BTW is done by US trainer (at least for QA), all information given through US phone calls, AIM and website, written info. So forget the rumors, call or write and ask because I too was unsure, but as stated did a lot of research regarding their status.
Is it true Dictaphone is now owned by Nuance (an Indian company)? (sm)

that explains why the downhill slide.

I heard Focus was bought out by Dictaphone (Nuance) less than a year ago. So I think it would be a s
move. Nuance's website looks sturdy, and I know dictaphone is doing well, so how can a company with that kind of backing give you any kind of worry? I'd take it. Good luck whatever you decide.
TransTech gets work from Dictaphone/Nuance; not the piece of equipment, but the co.

TT uses Dictaphone's WordClient and ExSpeech platforms.

Dictaphone (the company) contracts with MTSO's to use their equipment and they (Dictaphone/Nuance) *divide* out the work each MTSO gets.  That is one of the reasons for OUR VERY LOW WORKLOAD anymore !!!!  We would be better off if we worked for a company who is not Dictaphone/Nuance-dependent for work.

The very few accounts Transtech has -- mostly  overflow accounts -- are Dictaphone/Nuance accounts.  We TransTech MT's wait for Dictaphone/Nuance to throw a few jobs our way, which is NOT happening.  All of TransTech MT's are making LESS than ever day-by-day, paycheck-by-paycheck.  Heads up ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Case in point Escription is VERY MUCH better than Nuance and others out there sm
If we all had Escription, none of us would mind doing VR.
MOST of TransTech's accounts are obtained through Dictaphone/Nuance -- not by any TT mgmt people

out seeking work for all the MT's that they have recently hired on.  That is not a good thing when Dictaphone has control of how much work TT gets, when we can have some work from them, etc.  They have other MTSO's who want work for their MT's, too, so Dictaphone/Nuance has to share with all MTSO's who have contracted with them to use their equipment; thus, doling out jobs as Dictaphone/Nuance sees fit for their good.

With Nuance buying Focus, what will happen to the eScription accounts? sm

I really don't think eScription is going to like the fact that Dictaphone/Nuance is going to be working on their platform and learning their secrets to their software.........do you?

This is so interesting to me as I am an eScription editor.  Maybe it is time I start my own business again and contact all of the eScription hospital accounts or contact eScription and get their input on this.

In reading Nuance's press release, Bringham Women's Hospital is an eScription account not a dictaphone account.   Very interesting......Don't you think?  Would love to hear opinions on this.

The Low Down on ASR/VR with Dictaphone and/or Escription?
Companies I've interviewed with lately all are transitioning to ASR/VR.  They all say you can still make good money.  I need to hear this from the MTs who are actually doing this.  Are you making the same or more or are you making less. ONe interviewer said they had an MT transition to ASR on Dictaphone and she made 27,000 lines for the pay period, although that sounds wonderful but at 4.25 cpl that is not what I would have made at 9 cpl doing 15,000 lines per pay period.  I need to no some facts before I jump into this.
Are you on Dictaphone or Escription?

Are you on Dictaphone or Escription?
Why do you hate it?
I've used both eScription and Dictaphone...sm
and I agree computers will never replace MTs, but I do think the eScription speech recognition is awesome. I don't have to correct much the way I did with the Dictaphone system. My favorite blooper was speech putting dog walker's hump when dowager's hump was dictated though! Great mental image.
TT Mgmt says more is going to VR by Dictaphone and Escription
Trying every way to cut our pay.   Less and less regular transcription.  Of course, as mgmt says, this is the wave of the future.  But how do we explain that 1/2 cut in pay to our mortgage companies and be able to put gas in our car to go anyway.  Horrible thing happening in this MT field for the MT's.
I use Magicjack with Escription and Dictaphone
NM
Anyone using other VR aside from eScription like M-Modal, Speech2Scribe, Dictaphone's VR, etc.?
s
Is Dictaphone better for VR? Escription can be frustrating with that at times.
My account is mostly VR and I have to work an awful lot to make a little.
Focus bought by Nuance/Dictaphone, DRC bought by Acusis. nm
s
Escription has been out of work. Dictaphone has lots of work.

Does Dictaphone obtain the accounts for the companies who use Dictaphone EXText?
I was just wondering if this is the same as it used to be.  Dictaphone installs the equipment in facilities and then gets a MTSO to take the account.  Therefore, the MT company never solicits for accounts, but Dictaphone notifes them when they have installed equipment in a hospital.
Just be aware that not all Escription accounts pay the same. I worked for one company on Escription
struggling to maybe make $50 in 8-10 hours. I didnt know the difference as that was my first job on that platform and I just thought it was not a money maker. Then, I switched companies. I average $20-30 an hour and once I made $50 in an hour. I tried yet another company and I was lucky to make $9 an hour. The bottom line is that not all companies are alike, even though they use the Escription platform. What I have found is that goes according to how they set it up i.e. paying for footers, headers, spaces etc. Just dont be shocked if you dont make what you think you will. The companies know how to set it to where it benefits them and not you. As is the norm, not all companies are created equal out there regardless if they all use the same platform. That is what I am getting out.. Good luck.
SPI owns OSI now?
?
I believe Medquist owns
DQS and leases it to other companies and hospitals.
MQ developed and owns DQS.

Mike, can you tell me who owns this company?
Just curious. I used to work for a lady who owned a company in Louisiana many years ago and she had a bad rep re: paying. Last I heard she moved to Arizona.
I don't think MedQuist owns Lanier.

We used Lanier at a small hospital in a very small town before I went to work for MedQuist.

Who owns or operates Diskriter?
I did know, but I forget.  Anyone know?
Wonder if the same MTSO still owns that company.....nm
xx
Medscribe owns another company too

I think it may be Southscribe.  Does anyone know?  I cannot recall the name of the other transcription company they own, but it is definitely in Georgia.

Transcend owns MDI-FL but each is run separately...sm
Hope this helps!
Just guessing but it might be the woman who owns KS??
nm
MQ owns DQS software. They developed it
NM
MedQuist OWNS Diskriter and Lanier...nm
nm
What?!?!? You clearly have NO idea what you are talking about! The "man" who owns TT
does NOT own the building they are working in. He is NOT a real estate investor. He has worked in transcription for years and was with L&H prior to their acquisition by MQ (as was the rest of the office staff). TT absolutely does NOT finagle their line counts. If you know anything about TT, you know that the Dictaphone ExText platform has had trouble for the last couple of months and they have gone out of their way to keep us informed.

You obviously have some sort of personal ax to grind with TT. It is YOU who needs to stop spreading TT misinformation. You need to be very careful about what you post.
That's not true, my friend owns a payday business
and if you borrow $300.00 you pay $45.00 for that loan ending up paying back a total of $345.00.  Maybe that was just a very unfortunate situation of your friend.
A friend of mine is a male and owns a transcription company. sm
He has no problem getting accounts and is quite wealthy from it. So, do not let your gender deter you!

His company is RX Transcription in Newtown Square, PA. Give him a call and maybe he can help you.
Full Circle Transcription in Acworth, GA. Does anyone know who owns this company? SM
Please email me if you do.  I may like to contact them and would just like to know ahead of time whom I'll be emailing.

Manor Care was founded in 1991 and is headquartered in Toledo, Ohio.

The Indian owner also owns a residential home in KY, that's where the KY part comes in. sm
The lead MT is in San Antonio, TX, but as the other poster said, the headquarters are in India and 99% of the people you deal with are in India, some city that begins with an A, can't remember.  They are nice people, but they should be honest about it.
Phillips OWNS MedQuist, who bought Lanier Healthcare in 2002..nm
nm
To my knowledge, the owner still lives in India, simply owns a home here. sm

The work is received FROM the Indian office and sent TO the Indian office.  They used to hire only American MTs, but then started outsourcing to a company in India (big surprise).

I understand what you are saying, though.  And if they are honest about it, then it is the choice of the MT as to whether he/she wants to work there.  The fact that they blatantly misled in their ad angered me, but then again, I have been an MT long enough, nothing should surprise me.  I guess I have done my part, and I have no particular axe to grind so I should just leave this alone now.  I just was shocked when I saw the ad.

Good luck to all of us in finding a job that treats us well and pays us even better (smile).

Nuance

I think Nuance owns Dictaphone now too. When I was looking for a C-phone manual it took me to their site. Maybe not so bad a deal, time will telleth.

Nuance
I work at a hospital that uses the Nuance Speech Recognition. We were told they bought out dictaphone. We are in the process of training on this program. There needs to be a lot of tweeking before this platform would be beneficial to any organization.

We have the whole package - Transnet, ExText and Speech recognition.
Did Nuance
dump them?
Nuance

Anyone working for this company?  Any input would be appreciated....

Nuance
Nuance owns Escription.
