A couple of questions, if you don't mind...

1.  Do they have a production incentive/bonus?

2.  Where I am right now, if I work even a minute over my 8-hour shift, I have to e-mail my supervisor explaining why.  Is KS that strict, or do they allow you to go over a little?  I don't even care if they pay OT or not, just want to finish my job without worrying about the time.  (Sorry, threw in a little vent there.)

Thank you!

I emailed you privately about TTS...
don't even think about it.
I emailed Amanda re; some questions about working for them.
Haven't heard back yet. Guess I'll look for a different part-time company. Can't afford to hang around waiting.
A couple questions

Do they hire part-time?   Do you need a C-phone or are they internet based?

Thanks

...couple more questions if you can...
Tested for radiology, but I can do acute care. Can you tell me about the rotating weekends? How many weekends do you actually end up working over about a 3-month period? Does the software have a built-in expander?

Thanks!
I have a couple questions
Do they hire part time?  The website mentions Word 2000.  Does it have to be Word 2000 or will a newer version work, i.e. Word 2002?
a couple more questions
What is the minimum line count you need with them for part-time and if you need to work outside of your schedule or type earlier/later in the day, how flexible are they with that?  Thanks for the info!
Just a couple questions

How is the platform?

Is rigid schedule required for full-time?

Are there production bonuses?

Thank you!

A couple of questions for you...
What do you mean by acquired 3 private accounts through them? They are your accounts? You bill them, collect the money? Or they are small accounts that only you do? Not sure what you meant there.

If you have no benefits, are you an IC? If you are an employee with no benefits, I'd be looking elsewhere. If you're not being paid what an IC would make, you're getting the short end of the stick.

If you are an IC, you'd need to rewrite your contract at the end of the contract period.

If you're an employee, go for it. Ask for what you feel you deserve. If they value what you do enough, they should be able to meet your needs (especially if they're getting away with not paying benefits!).

Best of luck!
Thanks-couple more questions
This helped some.  What is their line count requirement and is it pretty attainable?  Also, is 40 hours considered full time or can you work less than that for full time?  Again, thanks.
A couple of questions

TTS does this to all of  ICs. She literally will call MTs and threaten your job because you are not on the schedule for your hours.  I was let go because of not working my set hours, yet I did my line count on a daily basis that I said I would do.  Who would you report this to?  Would you report to the DOL or the IRS?

a couple questions
Also, how do they calculate VR lines, and can you get a good line count?
answer to a couple of your questions..
I did not receive a bonus once I was off 100%. I get what I would consider average pay for most national companies. The last couple weeks have been very, very slow as far as work, but it seems to be picking up. Not sure about the benefit issue, as I have not been there long enough. Decent living is different to everyone, but you should have no problem making their minimum line count and there are some doing quite well, but I am not one of them. LOL. There is a $20 per month charge for their computer, but you can use your own equipment and not get charged the extra. Hopefully that helps some.
Thank you, Denise. Couple of questions . . .
Did they have you do any transcription in the pre-employment phase? Do you get a lot of ESL? What type of work do you do? Is the work put into a pool or are you assigned accounts? Do you have benefits?
A couple more TransTech questions
I'm looking to leave my current job and was thinking about applying to Transtech since there seems to be quite a lot of positive feedback on them.  Before I go through all of the testing/application process, I have a few questions.  Are there accounts actual typing or VR?  Also, what is the pay per cpl generally with experience?  Thanks a lot!
A couple of questions about Transolutions

Does anybody know if their benefits package includes a decent medical insurance plan?

Also, does anyone know what their internet platform is like (I think it's called Apex?).  Good, bad, etc?

Acusis--a couple more questions
I just submitted my information to Acusis and  had a couple of questions.  What is their minimum part-time requirement (lines/hours) and do they provide any equipment?  What platform do they use?  Thanks for your help!!!
Couple specific Encompass questions sm

Do they have a consistent workload?

Heavy ESL?

Their benefits package seems amazing, their requirements seem very well detailed and they seem very structured in general.  I like the black-and-whiteness of it. They seem to have their biz together.  Anyone that can verify?

Any loopholes on their behalf from anyone's experience, such as docking for errors, exreme nit-picking (although my accuracy is excellent thus far).  I'm hoping they're not a company that portrays themselves as reputable, family-oriented, professional, etc. and then harass and turn into monsters once you're on board.  Thanks!

A couple questions about Opti-Script
What type of insurance do they offer and what kind of platform do they use?
Chickadee - More questions - if you don't mind
Do you have to look up doctor's addresses for carbon copies? Are you obligated to a certain amount of work? How many lines per week are available to you? Does having to pay your own taxes eat up more of your profit?
Would you mind answering a few more questions?

Did you switch from straight transcription to VR, or start with VR?

How long had you done straight transcription and what was your lph speed then?

How long have you been doing VR?

How long did it take you to get up to the speed where you are now?

Thanks in advance!

TJ would you mind e-mailing me I have a few questions I am confused about. I think you can from my f
x
A few questions on Axolotl if someone wouldn't mind...sm
Do they provide you with a computer?

What are their benefits (insurance/PTO) tied to? i.e., 40 hours a week, 12,000 lines a pay period, or both, etc. If things are slow and there is no work do you have to make it up in order to keep your insurance? If it remains slow and you can't get your lines in, do you lose your insurance?

Do they hire only acute care or multispecialty clinic, or do they have *specialty* accounts, i.e., ortho, op notes, cardio, psych, etc.

Do you get one primary and a backup(s), or several primaries in a grouping?

Thanks a lot for any info... I'd love to work for a good company again some day and Axolotl looks like a good place to start looking!
Do you mind if I email you some more specific questions?
:-)
Questions for Proscript employees
Looking to change companies.  Are you satisfied with the company?   Do they have a steady flow of work?  Do they offer health benefits, and if so, is the premium exhorbitant for just an employee?  What is their line/hour requirement for full-time and/or part-time?  Are the accounts loaded with ESLs?  Sorry to have so many questions.  Thanks so much for your help.
Precyse employees; questions

Do they offer full-time and part-time? If so, what are line requirements.  Do you have to do your lines within an 8-hour time frame? Is their platform Word based? Audio transferred via internet or phone? Lines calculated 65 characters with spaces? Do they start as high as 10 cents a line? Do you run out of work often? Sorry to have so many questions, but wanted to avoid wasting my time and theirs based on above. Thank you.

Questions for Keystrokes employees--

Keystrokes contacted me early last week about employment and sent me all the pertinent papers to sign and return.  I faxed everything back and was told they would be getting an ID for me for the account I'll be working on.  I haven't heard anything else.  Should I be concerned, or does it just take awhile for things to get moving? I realize there's been a holiday too which slows things down.

Webmedx employees: Two questions (sm)

Do you run out of work a lot?  How is Radiology workload and pay?

TIA

Keystrokes employees, could I ask some questions? sm

I got an offer from Keystrokes and had some questions for others employed there.

How is the family health insurance?  Expensive?

I will be working on the account that is 80% ESL, easy to meet line requirements?

When the recruiter talks about your 'liscense' please what does that mean?  I'm not entirely clear on that one.

I should be getting my paperwork in a couple days then getting started.  I'm looking forward to working with you all.

Axolotl employees----have questions about line definition, etc. sm

How does Axolotl define a line?  Do they pay for spaces, headers, footers, & expansions?  Are you docked for blanks or sending things to QA?  If so, how much.

Thanks for the info.

Have a fabulous 4th!

email me privately
for pros and cons
I responded privately, thank you.

work privately
in my experience, working privately is the only way to be appreciated; the only way where you get a pat on the back for a job well done; whether it be a smile or a thank you or being invited to the company picnic or christmas party, a place where people know your name and know when they dictate into a microphone, they might say hello or good morning or have a good weekend, that they know there is a real live person on the other end trying to do the best damn job for them because they are appreciated. you don't get that with online companies. you are just a 'number' who is required to produce in 'numbers' in record time, again there are the 'numbers'

Have to email me privately
so I can keep track of who will support and help with the effort :)

Email me privately
There is no way we can organize on this board.

Email me privately - I am NOT management or spying - I am a legitimate MT with 20 years' experience and many years as an activist.

But if we let our fears of the suits keep us from even talking, THEY win without even trying.
To those who have written me privately
I seldom answer e-mails generated from here because I'm never really sure where/who they are coming from. I will tell you that the hospital is a local one and you must live within a certain radius to work from home for them. Check out the hospitals within 100 miles of you, though. MTs working from home directly for hospitals is growing and in my area becoming the norm.

Because the site is privately .....
owned and the owners can do what they darn well want to with peoples' bizarre accusations that they just might not want polluting their business reputation.

TT is doing gymnastics to find decent healthcare coverage for its employees. How on earth does that get translated into a negative? And how is it that the company is nice enuf to frequently pay early, then people feel entitled to the favor as the rule, and sling mud when they have to wait all the way until payday to get their deposit?

Are you kidding me?

I have never worked for nicer people anywhere.

I e-mailed you privately (sm)
It seems to be about 50/50 there. I personally have no work on my account or backup and it's been that way since October. I have talked to all the right people and I'm still sitting here reading and typing on MT Stars when I'm should be typing reports!
If you will email me privately -
I will tell you what I did in your position after 3 years of going through what you are going through with MDI.
contact me privately, please!
I think that contacting the media is a great idea, and very important... think about National security; however, I'm thinking of something else. Let's get together and see if we can figure out a way to start our own company. We are the BEST in the business... why can't we do it? Contact me, please. AmericanMT@yahoo.com
You never leave a way to email you privately
email roster. As an example Number 1, 7, 14 and 22...and the list goes on. Also an MT manager of another MT company on the list.
Good, sent me an email privately...
I am serious that I would look into this but only if I have true support...

privately email me, because my accounts are low! nm

Valerie, can you privately email me, too? Nm

I also worked for MQ and went to a privately owned

company and hate it.  I am assigned my own accounts but can't make any money unless I work 12+ hours a day including weekends.  They have a 24 hr TAT which I can understand but if a doctor doesn't dictate for 2 days (or more) and then slams you with 2 days worth of dictation I don't think it's fair to expect MTs to turn around all that dictation.  I have more than one doctor and don't have a problem with TAT until one or more decides not to dictate for days and then OUCH.

Anyway I've decided to look elsewhere.  This company also has alot of physical therapy and there is no money to be made in this field (at least not the way they do business), so I do not do physical therapy.

Depends on whether publicly or privately funded.
I believe that the California statute prohibits any facility which receives taxpayer funding or is affiliated with the state from outsourcing.
Spheris is a privately held company, there are no shareholders
I suspect this report is bogus.

Their latest press release says they are planning on increasing their domestic work force at the same time as their overseas one, to match their aggressive pursuit of new accounts. (Personally I think they ought to concentrate on servicing the ones they have.)
Oh no.. Can you elaborate or privately email on what happened..That would help me immensly. Thanks.
