Okay, this is turning ugly. These kind of comments are unprofessional

Posted By: TT2 on 2008-02-09
In Reply to: TT talks sweet, but I have never desired even a store clerk to call me sweetie . . . those niceties - They are nice and will call you sweetie

If you here work for the company you could be earning money by taking TT up on the big BONUSES this weekend that nobody has mentioned while griping about the headers, etc. um er, how about telling the world that lines and a half are being offered and an extra 50 to 100 in addition. So, why not just put your ugly comments away and get to work!

Shades of Young Frankenstein, ''A riot is an ugly ting ... and it's zhust about time we had one!''
The QA is okay on my account, no ugly comments, but
sometimes when you have a specific question you don't get an answer or it takes days.  We have 5 QA people and each one had their quirks and interpretation, so while you may be doing something one way because one QA person said to, the next QA person may tell you to do it differently.   You never know who will be doing your QA at any given time so you stand a change of being wrong a percentage of the time and occasionally they have made changes that were not correct.  Not a major issue usually, unless you make a lot of errors, and then it affects your line rate.
Transcend... any comments, good, bad or ugly? TIA...nm

Appreciate your kind comments, but TT can prove itself on its own.
Don't pay attention to the naysayers.
TT does well and earns money for its employees to provide a safe good environment and job. All of the things we already know about TT on the board and in our lives speak for TT. It is nice of you to defend against naysayers, but TT can speak for itself and already has. More of these kinds of posts will just fuel the troll fire.

See my post below about breadwinner, defending TT's transcriptionists who provide health insurance for families. This kind of argument is a waste of time.

In other words, I think perhaps we could let other people on these boards talk about their stuff. And if we don't and keep up with this cycle, well that's okay too. People like me will quit looking on here for interesting new things and will work extra to make more money anyway. IMHO
Just did not want you to get your feelings hurt when you were trying to do a good thing.
My experience was UGLY. Very ugly.
Just keep your other job until you're sure....good luck.
Why so very few comments regarding Diskriter? Are comments by employees not permitted SM
on public forums. I have always been interested to see comments on this company, as they are constantly advertising and seem to have an attractive employee package. Unfortunately, never seeing comments on MT boards makes me extremely uneasy. I'm sure they could have stipulations in their contracts that prevent them from commenting, but even so I would expect to see good or bad comments even from ex-employees. Hmmm? Plus, if the anonymity is supposed to be in place on these boards, how can it hurt for employees to make a general comment, good or bad?
Sounds like OSi is turning into
visa versa. I have worked for both and they both STINK!!!!!!!!! STAY AWAY, (RUN FOREST RUN) LOL.
Perhaps a new page is turning here
I believe that with new life being breathed into TTS daily that some of the past problems have been eliminated and that they are working on the others. It is easy to believe negative posts and none of us want to get into a bad situation, but I trust the person I spoke to about TTS and I have learned in the past few months up close and personally that everyone needs to be responsible for making their own decisions about employment. If you have a good work ethic you might find a pleasant surprise now at this company. Work is plentiful and it is good work. Rates paid are based on your individual negotiations and not perhaps what you think based on what is posted here. Professionals can always find work. I put my line in the sand and I ended up in a good place. You can do the same.
Who is to say that the MTs turning out these reports...
know the difference. There are some of us older MTs who were fortunate to have some kind of hands on training and actual mentoring, but how often does that happen anymore?

The assumption is that these MTs are purposely rushing through reports and leaving glaring errors to pad their paycheck. All I am saying is companies hire new MTs for a lot less than their veteran MTs and then turn them loose with little or no help.

I was always told from my supervisor that no news was good news, and I think that is pretty much how they all are. So, these people probably bounce along thinking everything is great because nobody is pointing out errors to them. They still have a job, so they must be doing it right...right?

Again, I say the industry is creating this standard and the hospitals are accepting it. That does not make me unhappy with my job, and I don't sit around wondering how much my boss makes. I just take exception to laying the blame for poor quality reports squarely on an MT.
What sad is they're almost turning on each other..
Snide implications about whether some really quit and other nasty little asides. Kinda confirms the lack of a sisterhood, huh?
The tide is turning with AAMT
NOT! They have never cared about MTs, only about our money. They will, as they say in the movies, Follow the Money, right to India. They have no shame.
I'm turning 60 next week. My speed is as sm
fast as it was 20 years ago when I get dictators who can speak English well enough to be understood. It's the verbal stumblebums who slow me down when I first have to TRANSLATE and then transcribe. Age, for me, has nothing to do with speed. If anything, it has made me faster.
hourly turning out to be not so great.
hourly pay during VR is turning out to be a huge drop in pay as I am only paid hour while actually typing in a report. regular transcription and VR are intermingled all throughout the day as to manipulate my livelihood such that I am making about 200 dollars less per payperiod, that is almost 400 dollars a month.
I think the tide is turning and AAMT will be American again soon. nm

Not in direct response to turning down any of these companies but regarding speech rec sm
So far Webmedx has only rolled out ASR (assisted speech rec) on one account; every one of the MTs on that pilot project liked ASR and chose to remain with it. We've been told that each MT will be able to choose whether or not to use ASR when the time comes - you can either try it or type it as you did before.

As for work assignments, personally I've not seen any difference in what accounts I work on - if you aren't trained on an acct, you don't get that work. It's not like everyone was thrown into one giant pool.

I know this doesn't answer your specific question, but thought it might enlighten about the changes at Webmedx.
It is very sad you are so accepting of offshoring and AAMT turning a blind eye to the American MTs.
The offshoring would not be a problem if there was not such a huge difference in cost. We are on the losing end and taking pay cuts because of offshoring. Also, I know many who have lost their jobs to cheap labor overseas. AAMT is encouring this. That is wrong. America is slowly become a third world country in itself. If we don't stop it now, there will be no jobs left for Americans. I don't care where you are from or what kind of job you have, the pay should be equal for all so the competition is fair. You will find after some time with AAMT, you will be ignored and will receive nothing but redundant information from AAMT office and local chapters. Anything they offer can be gained via the internet now.
How is turning you down for a position rude? Are they, or any other company, obligated to give you
No. As a recruiter, I am seeing this more and more. Maybe the hours you were available did not match what they needed. Maybe your equipment or speciality or background did not match. How is it rude not to hire someone? There would be no need for interviews if everyone was just hired because they applied. I did not understand most of this until I started recruiting. The company I work for is spoken well of on this board and then bashed at other times. I see a lot of people that think they are entitled to a position or a shift or a certain account. It is difficult to be on this side.
With the alleged shortage of decent MTs, which you managers are quickly turning into VR editors sm
You should not be complaining about graphics or colors on resumes.  You should, frankly, be grateful for any applications you get.  The way MTs are being turned into editors for you voice recognition crap is horrible, and you should be apologizing for it.
Seems like the same docs on my accounts, but sound quality is turning into an issue. Hang in there!

That's not just unprofessional.... sm
it's illegal !  I would forward those emails with a letter of explanation to the Department of Labor.  You'll see how fast SS changes their tune.  And by the way, if they know who you are by your posts, then the companies and the administrators of this forum are obviously on the same back-stabbing team.  Bet this gets deleted before you can say "shove it" !!
very unprofessional

If your oversea MTs are that great, why bother with us Americans?  If I worked for your company, I would quit yesterday.

Unprofessional
This is very unprofessional. Imagine If we all knew what hospital you were referring to? This is confidential information and should be kept such, not even funny.
UNPROFESSIONAL
Perhaps the term suck is unprofessional.  However, since you are not with FN, perhaps never have been and never will be,  I reiterate that I personally never confirmed anything about work or no work. What I said had you read it closely is that as per many companies throughout the US, there are periods of a lull.  I never said there was no work and you are quoting out of context.  If you seem to have a problem with FN why don't you just go to the source instead of using a public forum to confirm unwarranted comments from others about something they no nothing about.
unprofessional
It's just totally unprofessional for either MT or management...and totally uncalled it.
I think it would be really unprofessional
I think it would be really unprofessional and immature on the part of the company who is sending it around...if they do exist. I also wouldn't want to work for a company who participated in that drama either, either blacklisting people or not hiring people because of it. There are always two sides to each story. It's not fair to not hear the other side or to not give that MT a shot because of what a disgruntled employer has to say.

If I were doing the hiring, I would start questioning the credibility of that company and actually probably see why the MT left/quit/got fired in the first place. It is up to the MT to prove him/herself and if it doesn't work out, well then fire him/her.

I have no doubt that it goes on, especially with smaller/medium MTSOs who are friends. That's just my opinion, though. I know some companies I had worked for had no issue complaining to me about their own transcriptionists incessantly, personal and private matters included, so I have no doubt they ran their mouth to other people in the industry about them. Made me paranoid/wonder what they said about me.
Unprofessional and Same As Before
Recruiter was unprofessional (um, um, um, let me check, um, um...).  Told the recruiter that I worked for them 5 years ago and had a horrible experience, rude QA, rude team leaders, inaccurate QA (grade wrong and when pointed out the account specifics, they get very rude), 99% ESL doctors on all accounts.  He said they were still the same with the 95% to 99% ESL dictators and didn't know about the rest of the staff problems.  Pay was on time, but never received anything worth cashing at the bank due to lousy dictators.  If you ask for another account with more American-speaking doctors, they said that all the accounts had the same type of doctors, and they did.  I got put on 4 different accounts and had plenty of work but unable to translate the dictation.  I personally think that they only get the accounts that other transcription services REFUSE to do.  There are a lot of companies out there that have better dictators and more professional/knowledgeable recruitors and more knowledgeable, friendlier and team-oriented QA and team leaders, so please don't waste your time with the same nightmare as 5 years ago.
Unprofessional people
This company is very, very unprofessional.  They expect a new hire to know what each doctors wants within a 24 hour period of time.  They EXPECT that.  They are also very rude in conversations.  Just beware.
very unprofessional and rude (sm)
and I was able to find much better work for myself, at Proscript.
I don't think I've seen anyone more unprofessional here

than this person.  I pity anyone that works for her.

Unprofessional and ridiculous! sm
Unless it is done in conjunction with a real test.
Extremely unprofessional nm
Are you a member of management?
It was just as unprofessional of the poster--sm
above to have asked who had been contacted by this company. The person who requested resumes to be sent has been harassed for the past three days trying to find out a name of the company. I guess she has had enough and I don't blame her. They probably weren't real names anyway. Sheesh!
If you are an MTSO, you are really unprofessional
JMO.
Very unprofessional, they are not honest, some of their
accounts are horrendous, they offshore but don't want you to know that.
That is extremely unprofessional...sm
It's also very direspectful to one of us. We are all a family of MTs here, so I take this personally!! I think you should post this up top as a separate post so everybody can see it better. They need to know about this company's baby fits if they don't get their way. They wouldn't be making any money if it wasn't for us!!!
Oh brother, how unprofessional are they?
Ask to speak to the QA supervisor and collect all the e-mails you are getting with conflicting ways to nit-pick.  Show her the e-mails and tell her you are confused.  You would be happy to do what they want, but you are being pulled in different directions.  If she is not accommodating, look for another job.  Who needs that grief?
I find this all very unprofessional.

start a yahoo group?  That would be better than how you are reflecting yourself here.  You are showing you're true colors.  It is quite obvious you are frequenting this board.

Your pay rate is very low.  Your demands are high, and you are not showing anything here but how unprofessional and NOT BUSY you are!

Please save it!  You have obviously burned some MTs, and they are not getting past it!  So, why do you continue to post?  You are like stirring the pot!  Your original post was enough.  Really it was....

P/S:  No, I am not an ex-disgruntled IC (really should be employee) with the demands you have on there.

Then, you have the nerve to respond to someone asking about line rates that you charge anywhere from 9 on up, yet your starting rate is 8 for 2nd shift, but you claim you cannot afford to pay more.  Shady!

Rolling eyes is quite unprofessional, IMO. sm
Get over it disgruntled.  My goodness, did they expect you to do horrible things like to  work 8 hours a day and meet minimums?  Shame on them for expecting such of a Primadonna.
Precisely. We have had some very unprofessional people sm
and some who turn their editing back in unedited. I will not say the name of the company because I am not a recruiter, just someone who thought I'd help get resumes for the positions. At last count, apparently some people cannot read and we keep getting resumes, the resume count is 179.

Its not Shapin. It is a small midwestern company located in middle America, Illinois.

You can nag all you want, but I have no say in hiring, nor do I have any say in firing.

If you want, I'll list the names of all the people who applied and then you can see who you can contact to see if you know any of them?
I read it. Very unprofessional and childish
but he/she can be that way because he/she did not name the company, which again is very unprofessional and shows that someone has something to hide.
You just took the prize for being unprofessional my dear.

A professional would never take such a minor issue and blurb it on a chat page.  A professional would have approached the maker of the typo or would have just looked past it.  Pretty sad when you have to stroke your own ego over a typo.

Using people's names is really against the rules and you should not do so. It is unprofessional.
do you? Why do you think it is right to name a person and then slam their name. If you think this is right, then tell me why? It is not right and it should not be allowed.
Lee has been told before..it is VERY unprofessional and raises big red flags sm
when the owner or the KS Lead MT posts rebuttles and tries to defend her company.  You and she know full well things were not well with that company for a long time.  Sounds like things are turning around but posts like yours only demean..methinks thou doth protest too much    Let your reputation be built on happy employees, the sour grapes might be unhappy employees, former employees, people gossiping about what was heard, etc.  Do you see ANY other MT company coming here and defending itself?  No..I don't either.  Think about it.  Keystrokes reputation preceeds itself..it will take time for that reputation to be restored.
lousy mgmt/response, unprofessional.
x
Shapin...unprofessional, disorganized, let go without any warnings at all.
I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy!
You may never - seems this is common from this company - how unprofessional & rude

I'm thinking..unprofessional. First impressions are everything and my impression is....
I wouldn't want to work for someone like that.  There would probably never be any way to ever please her.  I mean how many of us at one point in our careers thought we were doing a great job only to have a supervisor or someone else tell us our work stinks..It's obviously subjective versus objective opinion. I just think her ad had a very unprofessional and rude tone to it and I am guessing that she has been burned or thinks she has.  I just don't think you'd want to portray your attitude upon potential new hires. I will say...the ad did make me laugh, but there is a time and place for jokes and posting as a job ad isn't where you'd want to make people either offended or laugh at you.
The owner is an unprofessional mental case.

I worked for them years ago.  Supposed to be PT to supplement my FT job.  Got way too much work (I know with low work flow these days, I shouldn't complain).  I sent a very professional and very friendly email stating that I considered PT to be less than 1000 lines a day and that she was sending me too much work.  She went crazy waying I was flaming her via email and then called my home phone and left a nasty message calling me a liar and that I should never expect to work for them EVER again.

I knew someone else who worked for Accupro as well.  She gave two weeks notice when she resigned and said she would ship the equipment back to the owner after her two weeks.  She lived locally to where Accupro's owner lived and the next day the owner showed up at her home, banging on the door demanding her equipment, and told my friend what a fool she was to have quit.

Finally, I had a friend who worked for a hospital that Accupro contracted with to do overflow.  The owner was constantly behaving unprofessionally, calling the supervisor demanding to know why they didn't have much work, refusing to accept that the department was simply caught up.  When she was reminded that Accupro was contracted to do overflow only, she would attempt to go over the MT supervisor's head.  And then would play games with workflow - not returning work to the facility purposely for days at a time.

The woman shouldn't not be a business owner.  She is totally unprofessional and feels she owns her ICs, but won't make them employees and got help you if you decide to move on.  She becomes vengeful and downright scary!

One word for them..UNPROFESSIONAL. I applied and immediately tested
as they were in a big hurry to have someone hired so I dropped everything, tested, and then NOTHING.. I emailed numerous times asking if they had received my test but they could not even respond to that. The testing was easy and so I just could never figure out why they could not at least say they hired someone else or whatever the reason. I just find them extremely unprofessional (initials KB) if I remember right. I would never work for someone so unorganized anyway.
Wow..you even tested...hmmm. All that shows to me is unprofessional and disorganization.
As much as I hate to get the Dear John, we didn't select you emails, I would rather hear something than nothing.  I can handle that kind of rejection but when I waste my time applying, and then they do not even have the common courtesy to respond back on any level.  That truly just shows me that I would not work for a company like that.  It just gives you a little preview of how they do business.
We were not ugly

We were not ugly.  Stacy came on and stated that her two  most important factors in chosing a company was to have a computer provided and to have paid maternity leave and that was in CAPS.  She did not state that she was wanting to earn more PTO time and to use that, she wanted to be PAID after having a child.  At 4 hours per pay period that is 12 days a year and that is pretty norm for this profession.  Like I told Stacy, would you pay a babysitter or a nanny when they wanted six weeks off and you had to pull in someone to do their job so you were paying double and earning the same income.  It is really hard to provide benefits and a decent pay in this field.  Yell at me all you want, but the balancing act is very hard to do.   And like the prior poster also said, the companies change so often between merges, buy-outs, and out sourcing that what you sign on for in 2006 probably won't be the same in 2007 or 2008 for sure.  So if stability is what Stacy wants, I think that she needs to look elsewhere like a union job or a state/city or county position where it is spelled out in black and white what she will receive for the next three years.  We did not mean to make you feel bad but again, you posted several times about maternity leave and we are not mind readers you should have posted need to accrue PTO at a faster rate.   But we were not nasty or ugly and just stated the facts in this field.
