Just curious, what didn't you like about being statutory employee at older job? sm
I'm thinking of becoming one so I'd like a heads up on possible issues this causes!!! Thanks.
I know this is an older post....

but I can answer your questions the best I can. I work for Spheris, but I've only worked there for a few months.

1.  As far as I know, they only hire employee status. Like I said, I've only worked there a few months, so I don't know every little thing about the company.

2.  They give you a primary account, and you can have secondary and terciary accounts for when work gets thin in your primary. I personally have never had to work my secondary or terciary accounts yet. There has always been work on my primary.

3.  Yes they have a minimum. 10,200 per 2 week pay period.

4. You HAVE to use their equipment. They have their own platforms and computers that they send to you. They come with the whole 9 yards (footpedal, headphones, Shorthand, keyboard, etc.).

5. As for the starting pay, I think it's 6 cpl. Don't quote me on that though. It gets updated all the time. It also depends on what level you get hired on on, i.e., acute care, clinic work, etc.

Hope I helped a little!!

MT in Texas. I left you a message under your older post below
.
they do not pay for spaces or they didn't a few months
ago
In 2005, it was posted you had to buy their software and they didn't pay for spaces. Haven't s
s
A post from May said they paid 7 cpl with NO spaces. That's all I have. nm
s
In orig. post; she did not ASk if paid for spaces.
x
Did you read post? OP didnt ask if pay for spaces.

thx to prev post re viewing how DQS spaces being counted
i finally see now what i had heard rumored -- how we can check a previously transcribed report and see what QA filled-in the blanks.  So instead of waiting for feedback, i can just go back and check myself now, voila!!  In dQmanage, just choose your date, detail, click on job #, and instead of taking that payroll option, take the user option, and there's the finished QA'd report. Dang, wish i'd have known this before.
I recently saw a post about changing the two spaces after period to one at end of report. (sm)

I have been trying to search for where I saw this formula, but can't.  Any help appreciated on how to make this conversion a little easier.

I worked for 3 hours today before I remembered I was supposed to be using just one space after periods and colons instead of two.  Hard to do.

TIA

Prior post said it's so-so to use, but only counts the black chars., no spaces. nm

The post didn't come from CW or me
She hasn't come here since she started working on her own blogging site.
No, I didn't get that out of the post.
You better watch rolling those eyes or they're liable to pop outta your head and roll across the floor.
Hey, I didn't post this!
I think I've just been a victim of identify theft!

I sure didn't post this either
xx
I really didn't post this either

x

Didn't the post say I need more than 1,200 a day!!??

It does not say that is all I could type in a day, now does it?  It says that is the minimum required by companies.  However, on so many days you have to fight to get that much, and it may take you 10 or more hours to do it.  No, not because I type that slow but because the work is not there!!  Geeze.

Didn't post here...
the message was moved here. Sorry if that offended you. Not my action.
Sorry, didn't mean to place my post here.
x
Sorry, C-smg, I didn't see your post. GMTA. nm
:+
I see that my post was removed - i didn't say anything bad

but it was removed.  Glad I got the chance to vent and that 11 people got to read it.

Didn't they post the same job four times

I would think that only one recruiter/owner would need to post for a transcriptionist, not four.  The one was titled Police Reports, but then on the inside it was medical transcription clinic work.  I'm not so sure about that one.

I didn't say that post was slanderous
Read it again, and no....I don't watch garbage TV, I guess that's why I'm so naive.
Didn't you ever think recruiters post these..
nm
I see you didn't listen to my last post sm
TT MANAGEMENT DOES NOT GET PAID HOLIDAYS. They are SALARIED. That means NO EXTRA for overtime, NO COMP DAYS either. They work when they are told. I can't be told to work on my days off, but management CAN and they frequently DO work on their so-called time off. Given that I make more than many people in management at TT, I will not begrudge them taking off Christmas or New Year's or whatever pittance they get in the way of a holiday off. I know 3 people in management who worked yesterday, from home on their *paid holiday* so that those of us who were working had a go-to person. They have management around between 6 a.m. and midnight 7 days a week, 356-1/4 days a year, and tech support too. If this **** you off so much, GO FIND A JOB WITH A SALARY and get a grip! I have had a salaried job and guess what? Worked more hours in a year for less pay than I get on production. You just aren't bright enough to see the writing on the wall. How is it you MT when you can't read?
The rest of us get it! We know you didn't post the
nm
sorry LTMT I didn't see you post before sm
I put mine about the pay for straight versus VR. Makes no sense to me either.
Well, my entire post didn't take
Anyway, the entire report would be free of most formatting.
Sorry, that link didn't post right (sm)

I didn't mean for my post to come off as bashing
I hope you didn't take it that way. Just wanted to throw out a couple of suggestions if you still had the time to get back with the company and negotiate. Actually happy to hear someone has an MT job that they enjoy! :-)
I almost didn't read your post...
... because I thought you were someone asking what it's like to do radiology work at Transcend, and I don't.

But I'm glad I did click to read it, and I'm glad some more of the folks who are happy working at Transcend--and are still working the same accounts with virtually no changes (except good ones) YEARS after their own merger--are coming on board to tell their stories. My own merger (from TRS) was only 5 months ago, and just about all I hear is 'just wait, they'll give your good account to somebody else, they'll move you to something lousy with no work available, they'll make you do speech-wreck, whether you want to or not, and you'll soon be singing a different tune,' that sort of thing.

But beware... you say anything good about Transcend on this board, and you'll soon be labeled a 'suit.'

I am not a suit. I am a pajama. And hey... I could only WISH they'd pay me for all this free positive PR I'm doing..... :)

Yes, so that those who didn't see the post on the Company board may see it on the
Main board.  What's wrong with that?  Isn't that ok to do?
Sorry for the double post - I thought it didn't *take*
nm
Wow, I didn't know the owner would get on here under different names and post
I guess that explains it all.  My experience wasn't the best and I know I'm not alone.  No wander there are lots of positives, had no idea the owner did that.
Never mind- I'm blind, didn't see the post below.
.
I asked this the other day on another post - didn't get an answer
xx
See last post; I didn't explain hours correctly

I didn't see that in her post at all. In fact I wrote something similar...please sm
I believe what she meant was similar to what I wrote which was that I felt a majority of the nasty posts probably came from isolated people that take crap all day. These types normally get walked on because they aren't outspoken enough in real life to say what they feel. Then they anonymously come here (or other boards)to take out their pinned up frustrations. It's merely an opinion and you know what they say about those.:)

The reason I believe this to be true is because I've encountered way more nasty people on-line than in real life. If some of the posters said the same nasty remarks to a person's face that they do hiding behind a screen name, #1) They'd get fired. #2) They'd have NO friends.
#3) They'd lose a few teeth.

Think about it.
The clickable link in post below didn't work for me...
Trying to help. See link below:
Yes. I used an older ad that they had up. nm

Older MTs
I don't think any MTs are held in very high regard these days, old or young.  I think that most companies take the attitude that if we want to leave we should stick our finger in a bucket of water and pull it out, that'll show us how much we'll be missed.  Used to be there was truly a shortage of MTs.  Now we hear that the companies must offshore because there aren't enough qualified MTs.  But look on these boards and on the jobs board and check out the number of MTs literally begging for work and that includes those who are employed but can't get enough work to make a living.  Sad indeed.
You may be right. I'm older myself SM

and the picture I get of myself or any of my MT friends out robbing banks or such is pretty darn funny. :).

Seriously, I  know the issue with women committing crimes is mainly due to drugs, but I feel everyone is due a second chance.

older TT MT
Really how nice!
All Older MTs with 25+ Y sm

Anybody out there have any experience with Diskriter?  I have 35 Y experience and am a 23 Y veteran of MQ.......left in 2006.  I was there when it was Transcriptions Limited and then went to MQ and things were GREAT.  But,,,,,,,we all know what happened.

The reason I ask opinons of experienced MTs is because it makes a difference.  I do not mind major medical centers, I do not mind ESLs, OP reports and all the rest.  Its part of the job.

This company has interviewed me for a full time position, NO VR, plenty of work, etc. etc.  Sounds like what I was use to.  Anybody have any experience with them?

I don't want to hear about how all you get is ESLs, OP reports, crap work, etc.  I already know about all that and to me its part of the job always has been and always will be.  Just general info if you have it.

If you have less than 25 Y I want to hear your experience too.  I just put that number in because after that many years, we have done it all and seen it all and know that ESLs, OPs, major medical center crap goes with the territory!

I think most places pay for spaces. I work for TransTech and they pay for both spaces
as well as punctuation. I would never work for an MTSO that doesn't.
Who were they? Was it a MT company older

than 12 years ago?

I'm curious. I'd like to learn a lot more about TT. As I read these boards, I wonder and pray that TT never outsources AND is never bought out by another company-- at least not until I retire.

I'm older than the AAMT by 5, they were
pitching at start their aim was to get us recognized (and paid) as professionals within the medical community. In turn we could network, and keep abreast medically through continuing education materials, seminars, classes, etc., to ensure we were worthy of same, and respected.

That was 1981, if you know what I mean. At this point, I'd be happy with the labor board taking some initiative here.
To Older but maybe not wiser
I don't know where you have been working but most companies require the MTs to look up ADT and names of physicians. I have yet to find one that pays extra for this. Besides, if you are good, this doesn't take that much time!

Also, I think Transcend's QA does a darn good job with feedback, and yes, they are able to decipher the more difficult dictators!

I sure am glad you no longer work at Transcend with your lousy attitude! I hear Medquist and Spheris are hiring. I'm sure they would love to have you and MGR there, LOL.
Older and wiser than you by
16 years, is that ok now? I learned long ago you either suck some things up or no job. I learn well.
All of a sudden I wish I was/were? older???
Too long to retirement, too old to go back to school.

Better dust off the exercise equipment and find a new husband

LOL ROFLOL
They pay older longtimers 8CPL and

Also, you will be paid only half that when you are switched over to VR, which all accounts will be in the coming months.  Also, no incentives for hiring date after November.
