Oracle Transcription (OTI) regarding lines in Bayscribe

Posted By: Oracle payday and lines on 2009-02-15

Hi, I was curious if you had to turn in your line count in addition to what Bayscribe already shows for you.  I think that is redundant to turn in your lines when Bayscribe already counts the lines and they go by that anyway.  I currently work on Bayscribe with two other companies and they do not require me to turn in a line count separately by email, which the recruiter says that is the practice at Oracle.

My question is if you don't turn in your line count by email, do you still get paid with Oracle with what they calcuate on Bayscribe?    I was thinking about getting a job at Oracle with their new account coming on board and was just curious about the line counting system and payday.

Thanks,

Oracle and Bayscribe
I have worked with Oracle and never had any problems with the staff. They were helpful and answered questions quickly. They have an instant message setup, so you can get feedback rather quickly during the day.

As far as the platform, it is Bayscribe and I didn't like it at all...it was very slow, horrible spellchecker, and overall, bad setup with physician lists, residents list, etc. Not all accounts would allow you to incorporate these by clicking on it.....you would have to spend endless time searching for something and then may have to manually insert it anyway....very time consuming on certain accounts (all of mine), which is why I moved on. If you get a great account with long-winded dictators, thereby getting long reports, you may get a good line count but otherwise, you will take forever to get your line count because of the VERY short reports and having to submit report, go back in, pull up appropriate template, etc.

The platform was just not conducive to a good line count for many of the accounts.

Keep in mind that although you are paid on time, they use their line count system even though you are an IC, and then they had the gall to ask that we send an invoice in anyway....even though we have no say in their line count and are not allowed to do our own. So, basically, they are trying to cover themselves with IRS by you sending in invoice as an IC, but they decide line count and program for you. I just never sent in one because if there is a problem with line count, they are covered by saying you sent in an invoice. You still get paid regardless. They know you really don't have to send in one in this case, because they are determining your line count, which is really not IC status anyway.

Yes, Oracle still uses Bayscribe. nm

Oracle is great. Bayscribe is wonderful great line counts.
The trainer at OTI will always answer any questions about the platform and if you have any problems they have already worked them out, so just ask. Good luck!
Bayscribe lines
I seen to be having a hard time getting line count up. Anybody else find it slow going? Barely breaking 100 lines an hour after a month. I am on a lanier account so not sure if that is part of the problem too as sound quality is not that great and just dealing with the lanier takes time.
Bayscribe lines.....
I've been on Bayscribe almost a year and have no problems getting decent lines per hour, but I am not on a lanier account. Give it time, though. On the job I had before this one, it took me a couple of months to get up to speed with their program.
Bayscribe-Anyone have trouble making lines?
I've worked on Bayscribe with 2 different companies now.  Only have experience on one other platform (DocQscribe) as far as nationals go, but that was a few years ago now.  Just seems like I type awfully long hours to make the same money on Baycribe that I did on DocQscribe.  At first, I was thinking it was the accounts I was on, but now I am starting to doubt that as the reason. I am extremely familiar with my accounts, have normals, etc.  Anyway, just wondering if anyone else has had the same experience.
Oracle (OTI) Transcription
Hi,
Does anyone work for this company and if so, how's it going with their new platform? I am wanting to get on with them, but said they don't have an excess amount of work at this time. What more can you tell me? Thanks
Oracle Transcription

Has anybody that applied at OTI for the radiology transcription positions heard back from them yet?

Has anybody worked for Oracle Transcription?  How was your experience?  Good or bad feedback welcome.

Does anyone have any recent info on this company?  I've already looked in the archives. Thanks! :)
Oracle Transcription (oracleti)?

Does anyone know anything about this company?  Their website is pretty good, answered most of my questions and has a rather easy on-line application.  However, I would like to know if anyone has any experience with them.  Thank you in advance for the help.

Any info on Oracle Transcription, Inc.
They have a Radiology position listed and would like to know from anyone who works for them how it is. TIA
Oracle Transcription hires ICs. Lots of work right now, too.
I've been working for them for five years.

Trying to find company(ies) using the BayScribe transcription platform?

1600 lines of transcription

Is that 1600 lines a day in editing or transcription?

1 minute dictation=10 lines of transcription
Every one minute of dictation equals 10 lines of transcription so a 4 minute dictation is equal to 40 lines.  This is for a regular dictator but you always get the slow talkers, the uh, uh, uh dicators or the really fast ones but I've been doing this for 15 years and this is a good rule of thumb.  100 minutes of dictation is equal to 1000 lines give or take a few.

I average 1200-1400 lines per day with a national, and am only getting around 600-800 lines per day.
It's been this way since the day before Thanksgiving. I've been doing this for almost 30 years now, and more often than from Thanksgiving until the new year is the slowest time of the year. I have some months where I am swamped with up to 2000 lines per day. I stash that little extra money, and take advantage of a handful of extremely slow days this time of the year to actually cook dinner, decorate for Christmas, or do Christmas shopping. I actually anticipate this slow time every year and have grown to enjoy the breathing time. Any time I have attempted to pick up extra work with another company to supplement these slow times, the minute I get adjusted to the new accounts, etc. I have no time to finish all of my work because my full time job with national gets slammed again. Hang in there if you can, and hopefully your work will pick up significantly around New Years.
They work with you to make sure you get the lines required or the amount of lines you want...
I have never had a problem getting more work

Yes it is possible to double your lines. I cant type 460 lines an hour but I can get those with VR

Can anyone tell me about Oracle?

?

Oracle?
Does anyone have any current info on what Oracle in like.  Are they a good company to work for?  The last posts were back in Feb 2005, not that positive, any new info on them?
oracle
Does anyone have any information, good or bad, about Oracle??
Oracle
Anyone have any info on this company?
Oracle, IC only?
Is Oracle IC only and do you know if you can use dial-up? You sound happy with them, do they pay for spaces? Thanks.
I'd try someone like Oracle
You can do IC with them, and they have someone in their accounting department that will actually figure out what your taxes should be for your paycheck, withdraw them out and give them to you in another check, so you can set aside. Then, if you really feel uncomfortable about the tax issue, you can prepay your taxes quarterly with the IRS. Transcend is not that flexible with employees, only with IC (that's what I am with them) - and even then, you'll be lucky, with their platform and stinky dictators, to make much money at all. Try Oracle ... you can change your schedule whenever you want, and there's the benefit of the tax lady who will help you with that aspect.
oracle
thank you LTMT, you helped alot
Oracle and JLG

Anyone have current info on working for Oracle? I did a search and looks like there were a lot of problems with platform but nice people. Do they still use the same platform? I thought I saw somewhere you had to have a C phone or do they have internet transfer now?

Also need on info on JLG. I've found a few posts. Can anyone currently working there tell me what line counts are required, how easy to get, and do use a platform called Vianeta and how is that to use, MT-friendly, have to enter demos? Thank you!!! Just trying to get a list going here of pros and cons, any help VERY much appreciated!

RE: oracle to Flo
Don't really know what the other posts were referring to but wanted to share my experience.  I applied, got a response the same day and within one week was working with them.  Wonderful people.  I've worked for 3 other on line companies in the past.  So far, this is the best experience of all of them.  Flexible schedule and I never have run out of work.  It may depend on what accounts you are capable of doing.  I have accounts that don't seem to run dry and have experience in many fields of work so can do different accounts also.  Platform does take a bit of time to get used to though and is a bit user unfriendly but not that bad really.  Pay comes on time and direct deposit option at no cost (many charge for it).  You have to weigh all the options I guess and see what is most valuable to you.
Oracle
Thank you very much. Unfortunately I haven't been an MT for long, about 2-1/2 years and on the website is says they need at least 3 years experience. I'll keep them in mind.
Oracle

Do you have an email address for Oracle or website address? Thanks in advance.

Oracle (sm)
Oracle is great. I worked for them recently but had to leave because of needing benefits.

Flexible - yes. You're an IC, and this is the company that comes closest to treating you as an IC. They give you a weekly quota, and you work when you want as long as you meet that quota. You work one weekend day.

Platform isn't bad. It's getting a bit dated, however. Software isn't written with MT input, which accounts for most of the problems MTs encounter with it. Still, it's not bad.

Some accounts are C-phone, some wav pedal. Depends on what account you do. You can probably rent equipment through them if you don't own it.

QA leaves you alone. You don't get QA reviews because they understand you're not their employee. I'm sure they do reviews of your work within the company, but you won't hear anything from QA as long as you're doing good work. None of the nitpicking that occurs at most companies.

Very little turnover. Friendly people in the office.

Keystrokes - I have no experience with them other than the things I read on this board. They seem totally unprofessional, and too many MTs seem to be having problems with them.
Oracle
I work for them and am real pleased so far. Everyone has different likes and dislikes. I like the flexibility. I have alot of experience and have worked with a few other companies as well as in the hospital and this is by far one of the best out there I think. Anything I can answer let me know.
Oracle
Hi,
Did you have to be persistent with getting hired? Also how is the platform. Are they with digital dictation yet?
They sound pretty good. I work with MQ. I know I should make the switch but just wandering if they would be good for long term?

oracle
Hi.  anyone work for oracle transcription.  how is the sound quality and software?  thanks so much
oracle
hi. thinking of going with oracle. How is the sound quality and is software easy to use?
Oracle

Depends on the company. If you don't need the benefits, I don't know what's to worry about unless you'd be absolutely depending on a set income. With OTI I never, ever ran out of work. I can't say that for any regular employee position I've ever worked for.

There's nothing to fear with taxes. Simply pay about 25-30% of your gross income quarterly. Keep all your receipts and mileage. Just be disciplined about not touching that money that you set aside for taxes. You can even pay them over the Internet now.

Oracle sm
I would rethink about working at Oracle.  Work is very low there right now.  It looks like they overhired.  I've been there 2 years and have never seen it this low.  Great company, though.
Oracle
Does anyone have information about Oracle Transcription?
oracle
they kept telling me that they wanted to hire me.  I had to make 3 calls after that since they were not calling me back.  The recruiter even e-mailed me back to tell me they had an account that I could have and then did not call me back.  After that I realized they were pulling my chain, not being honest or not organized; whatever you want to call it.  I went with my instint and just dropped it.

Anyone get their W2s or 1099s or whatever from Oracle yet?
