They always say you are the only one. That seems to be the motto at MQ. YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE.
I wish they would get a new motto I am sick of that one.
Webbers =
Can any of you folks working for WebmedX tell me if you use your own computers?  Hoping that is a yes. Thanks.
Ex-Webbers - Question

I will be turning in my resignation soon to WebMedx and I have a question for anyone who has been there.  When you turn in your resignation and get set up to send your equipment back, is it a simple process?  They do not hold your final paycheck or anything like that, do they?  Will they allow you to work out a two week notice?

They are a good company as far as nationals go, but thank goodness there is still a hospital here that recognizes the importance of having the same people doing their work consistently.  I have been blessed.

I am one of the Webbers leaving
Found out that some of the higher-ups came from MedQuist.  Oh boy!!! That really irked me, because things are starting to feel like Medquist there.   I'm leaving as soon as I can because I'm tired of spending 24 hours to try to get in 8 hours and having to fight for work because they OVER-HIRE!!!!!  I have five accounts and each day it is more and more like the MedQuist cesspool.  As soon as I can, I'm gone.
Calm down, Webbers. This isn't SM
the pay cut you're imagining because you didn't listen to the message. I've been through this before at another MTSO.

It's actually good news in that moving to a more efficient platform means management is working to save our jobs in a very competitive, unstable market by increasing our output, and thus our value to the hospitals.

My prior MTSO changed my accounts from transcription to VR eScription, a platform challenging others with its efficiencies. At first average line counts shot up dramatically, and so did the initial paychecks--definitely happy time for fast learners. As everyone learned the platform, the line rate was adjusted to market rates--i.e., what a company has to pay to get skilled editors. If it hadn't been adjusted, people who had been making $30-60K would have been making many thousands more for the same work.

Now, why I'm at Webmedx these days: My primary account also insisted on offshoring or paying only offshore rates. That MTSO didn't do conferences and webinars, though, but instead kept us completely in the dark about what was happening. There came months of evasions, deceptions, outright lies to direct questions, disappearing work--and further pay cuts--until the day we were finally told the truth and offered a chance to move to other accounts.

Also, unlike WMX, that MTSO had already done extensive offshoring. Since WMX has been keeping its work here all along, I see no reason to doubt their sincerity when they say they will continue to try to do so. I also feel WMX has been as honest with me as I can reasonably expect from a corporation in today's culture.

BTW, let's please keep discourse to a more professional and dignified level. For my part, my relationship with an MTSO is a mutually profitable business one in the employer-employee form. They need the skills I have, and I sell this client my technical expertise, knowledge, judgment, and time. Rude and foolish messages to my client do not speak for me.

Best wishes.
? for Webbers Re Cherry-picking
I have only been with Webmedx a short time, but am starting to see a pattern of reports being skipped; it is typically the more difficult ESL docs.  I don't see any documentation in my paperwork regarding skipping jobs or cherry-picking and wonder if there is a company policy on same?  It's making me nuts as I feel it is unfair and is adversely affecting my lines on days when it happens often during my shift.  I don't mind doing my share, but when it stars pulling from my $$, I have a problem with it.  Is this the norm???  Thanks in advance.
Transcenders
How are things these days at Transcend?  (Need a second job)
re: Transcenders
apply, get hired, then you will know yourself.
For Transcenders everywhere...
I have a question... For those who work on Meditech, how long after you were hired did it take them to get you set up on Meditech? Because I'm not on their platform yet I've been doing all my work on Word which sucks because of course there are no medical expansions, just common everyday words. It's been 2-1/2 weeks now and I'm still not on Meditech, when I asked someone about it they said the hospital was still working on it. My question is how long did it take any of you to get set up? This no expansions thing is killing my line count and I can't afford to buy any exp. software right now.
? for Transcenders
Do you work VR or strictly transcription? If you work in VR, do you find it easy to make the same amount you once did when you were transcribing? Do you like working in VR? Thanks for answering!
Kudos to ex-Transcenders...

For standing up to these lousy companies who think they can s*** on us and feed us a line of crap, thinking we're too stupid not to buy into it! I am so disgusted and angry about what I've been reading - if Medquist pulled this on us I'd be outta there in a New York second. You guys are too good and there are too many other companies out there to put up with this kind of bull. Remember, we are in the driver's seat, we can be picky - demand far exceeds supply for professional MT's and you guys are sticking it to Transcend as should all new and old MT's. I also believe MTStars should ban any further job postings from Transcend - it is a total insult to us to allow them to continue to post, IMHO.

Thank you for standing up for yourselves and, indirectly, for all us MT's!

want to hear from transcenders who
have worked on VR and have been able to make at least what they always made, how much they have to edit to do this and how long it takes.  How has your life changed due to this as far as the amount of work it requires.  How much money can you bring home doing this realistically given the hours you work.  No flaming and honest input please.  Trying to figure out where I will stand when I do it.
Question to other Transcenders

when i go on editing, what will my pay rate be if I now make 8.5 cpl?  Also, that will be with NO incentive rate, right?  So, if I edit 1100 lines per day, what will I make per pay before taxes?  Also, how hard will it be to edit 1100 lines per day between 8 and 4 p.m.?  Is it possible?  Does anyone do it?

Thanks for the help, can't figure out all this mess!

Transcenders: What is the AIM platform?

All thoughts welcome.

Question for Transcenders
Do your supervisors work from home or from the Transcend office?
Transcenders - watch out.
We finally had enough work this weekend to keep busy, so now they will hire 100 more people to make sure this doesn't continue.  No one in their right mind would work there for a full time job.  It is fine to work part time to supplement another job, but don't depend on them for anything consistent.
To Transcenders...I'm confused...sm
I am suppose to train this week to start work for Transcend.  I have been getting the daily emails about account status and it looks like there is work, but I keep reading where there is not enough work to go around, so I am confused.  Is there or is there not work?  I really need to know what is going on before I officially go through training.  and then it is too late.  Thanks.
Any Transcenders using Escription

I really need some feedback from fellow Transcenders.  New to Escription and not making any money. Yes using shortcuts, etc. But need 3000 lines to make what I did before minimum.  Without compromising quality, don't see how this will work.  Have heard from these boards that it depends on  how many docs you have on account, etc.  Anyone from transcend, help!! Need some advice, tips, whatever, from one MT to another.

CURRENT TRANSCENDERS: Does everyone have
Insurance is critical for me.  I'm a good, steady producer and I'm not averse to having a few accounts at a time or working evenings, which is my preference anyway, so I hope I can maintain the $900 requirement.  All these posts about not qualifying for insurance or losing it because of production is making me very nervous.
Transcenders - we get your work, do you get ours?
I've heard in the conference calls both from MDI people and Transcend people that we get to cross-train to take Transcend work if we get low.  Has Transcend been telling their MTs that they get to take MDI work if they get low?  Curious if they've been saying it both ways.
Transcenders what region
You girls with no work, what regions do you work in?  I work on 2 different platforms, BeyondTxt being one and in both my regions work is plentiful.  I have 5 backup accounts in case things slow down but they haven't on my primary and they are always asking for help on my secondaries.  Not saying you aren't telling the truth, just wondering what region it is.  Do you do more than one worktype?  I know where are some girls in my region who only will do one worktype and won't try anything else.  That makes for a smaller paycheck, I'm thinking.  Just curious so don't flame me.
Transcenders-Per line how much do you make?

Current Transcenders, how much do you make per line and how much experience do you have?

Is 9.5 cpl any good?

ATTN: Transcenders - Pls provide admin.
that Transcend is offshoring, and they will be dealt with accordingly.
Current post-merger transcenders

I would like to hear from current transcenders, who became part of Transcend through a merger (like MDI-FL, etc).

Did transcend maintain your current line rate, and if you don't mind, were you making more than 9 cpl?  If you were moved to VR, how did they calculate that rate?  Did they tell you that all MTs receive say 50% for VR or did they just tell you what your individual line rate would be for VR?

Just to clarify, I'm not asking you specifically how much you make, but rather if they reduced the rate your previous company was paying you and how they determine the VR rate.

Any happy Transcenders out there? I know a couple people have left, not sure why. nm
