I love VR and think you have things wrong
when you said it can improve your production if you are not very experienced and not very fast. Sorry but do not fit that mold at all, over 35+ in transcription doing hospital work and also my speed over 120 wpm. I don't have a clue as to where some get this notion, such as you, that VR works better for what sounds perhaps like newbies. You have to have the knowledge in order to change what is wrong and to edit you have to be extremely fast. I make good money, love VR, hate when I get a straight report to type now and am 1 happy lady. Maybe you had a bad experience with the platform itself. Mine is great and I am so thankful with all the ESLs we have now because does that help out tremendously.

I do not know why the poster below says to get everything in writing; I have been a part of Transcend since 2003 and I really do love it. No issues, good communication, good pay. I have been in this industry a long time and have heard (and seen firsthand) a lot of horror stories. You cannot please everyone, but my experience has been very good. Feel free to e-mail me directly

I've always felt that the women libbers helped the need for 2-income families, but you are right - I hadn't thought about the single women and women who wanted to work not being able to get decent jobs or decent pay. We still have a long way to go to break the glass ceiling, but women can be anything they want to be these days with regard to career, and we have the women libbers to thank for that most definitely. I am very grateful for all their efforts. I just wish that it was easier to be a SAHM these days...whatever the reason - economy, government, libbers, greed, etc. While I do feel they played at least a small role in it, the good they did outweighs the downfalls. I appreciate your input. It has given me a new perspective on things. Thanks!

It's called "professional pride" - people proud of the way "they" do things.
You can't win with these types of people, and I think you're right, it's trivial nonsense.  Best thing to do is leave and find a more reasonable employer - they're out there.

Love new job, people, platform etc. but BORED (sm)
The accounts I have are under 200 beds, hardly any ops and those are most Csections, EGD, colonoscopies.  Hardly even a chole or appy.  New enough I don't want to really complain to my supervisor.  Thinking about picking up PT job just to keep my skills up in OP department.  Used to working 500 to 800 bed hospitals with lots of exciting ops.  Should I shut up and be glad I like the comany?

with your e-mail about them obviously growing beyond the ability of their office staff to keep up and that they only want calls in an emergency, yet you want to work for them? Who are you and what are you trying to start here? Where on earth did you ever get the idea that they only wants calls of an emergency nature or that their office staff cannot keep up? If you really believe that, why in the world would you want to work for them?

First of all, they have never, ever said only to call in an emergency. With regard to the office staff, I have never failed to receive a timely and PLEASANT response to anything I need.

You are so clearly trying to start some sh*t here and you need to get over yourself, get a life and get a grip!

This is just the first place I have worked where I do not have a specific pay day.  I feel kind of foolish sometimes when people ask me when I will be paid, and I say I'm not sure.  Plus, I am spoiled because when I first started, the line counts were automatic and we were paid within a couple of days.  Then, they apparently discovered some flaw in the program, so the line counts are done by hand now and it takes several days.   I never quite know how much I have done until I get the final line count that is sent to me, so that is something new for me as well.


Still, they are great people who care about the MTs, and the accounts are easy.  I would recommend them to anyone.  If I was in a better place financially, the pay day thing would not be of concern either.  I have always gotten paid ... never any question of that.  They are people of integrity. 


For anyone who has done acute care as long as I have, working for various teaching hospitals with literally hundreds of different dictators and tons of ESLs, working for CardioScribes is a breath of fresh air.

move on if it is not the right fit for you...there are plenty of other companies out there...

Who in the h*ll are you to judge who she picked or to act as if perhaps she just get a better husband? You sound like a spoiled child.

Not to mention your grammar. Are you an MT? You SHOULD OF CHOSE a better husband ?? Nice. You might be more careful the next time you want to insult someone that you don't come off looking incompetent yourself.
There are a lot of people who do and it seems that most love working there. I started 6 months ago
and have no complaints at all. It is refreshing to work for a company that treats employees as individuals, not just a number. I also like that they do not send work offshore and that I only have one main account. I do have 2 back-up accounts, but have never worked on them after training. I am lucky that my main account is very busy, too busy most of the time!

Not to stir up trouble, but when we signed on didn't we agree not to
if we had questions or concerns? My just reading this makes my skin crawl but if I were really concerned, I would talk to my sup. right away, as they suggest... I am not management, just a concerned MT as people keep saying things on this board when we are constantly reminded not to do this hear, that is spread around facts which are not proven. Why not just talk to the job directly if you don't have work instead of getting the rest of us upset here?

good benefits.  The pay could be more, but at least there is a production incentive tier that is not too tough to achieve.   Overall, I would say this is probably one of the best places I have ever worked.  If the no work situation continues, I guess I will just have to call them and ask for a secondary.  Everyone in the office has always been very helpful and supportive.   I just get nervous when it is not a holiday or anything and no files are available.  That is just my little thing, I guess.  I still would not hesitate to recommend the company to anyone.

I am just not making enough money.  They are a great company though, just ask for a back up account.

I totally love Axolotl.  Just as A-team said, fantastic benefits.  Yes, strict schedule, but never ever had a problem getting off when I needed to.  I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else. 
People at TT have been paid! People who haven't well, maybe you did not make count and your check
after insurance deduction. Maybe your bank is holding it. Maybe anything! But we GOT PAID. This is NO LIE. And I am sick of this board. Nothing but disgruntled exemployees arguing with employees who like their job. Ugggg. I am working. BTW: THERE IS WORK (clears throat) remember that? Work?

I worked for SS and some people were very RUDE and I am talking about the editing people in some
instances.  It ALL depends on the person, as it does with any company.  They paid on time and the lady over me was very nice, but boy the person in QA was mean to EVERYONE!!  Never seen anything like it before.

Are people trying to scare people or just tell them what is happening. I am not scared just seeing
that things are changing very rapidly and not for the better for me. If I have no work and need multiple accounts everyone else is in the same boat now arent they that have my accounts. That is how people know what is going on.
Maybe due to the people that manage Amherst. I think MQ would be a lot better off finding new people
up there with all the problems you hear about that office. Seems like something is very very wrong there.

at Medquist. I've checked out other companies but I liked MQ the best (I kept working at MQ while testing other companies).

to these companies (few, if any, are 100% honest, it seems), are going to be honest and tell you anything that isn't rosy and sugar-coated. Having a good prospective MT walk because the company isn't so great means less green dollars in their bank account every month. They're not going to tell us anything that DOESN'T make them more money.
More people will come into VR because the qualifcations to do MT are not the same. Lots of people w
to work at home. It's all relative to what you are used to. The nationals are counting on this. I think MTs will work cheaper rather than reenter the work force with no other skills than MT. The nationals are counting on this.

need to keep from naming names.  I thought it was an informative bit of information, but when you name names, then posts are way out of line. 


I would really like to see a truly professional way of talking about a company.  I don't care what board you go to, somehow people just do not want to play nice when it comes to talking about people.  If those people could learn to be a little more professional and stop posting names to their wrath or anger, then that will be the day I can say I am proud to be in this profession.  When I see those types of things, it makes my skin crawl.  If it were me being talked about, I would be livid.  I certainly understand why the posts were deleted.
