I'm so sorry to hear this. It doesn't sound good. I hope you

Great to hear! Good for you!
:)
Good luck with your new job! Hope it works out great! nm

Wow .. it's great to hear from you! Thanks for the good wishes. sm

The thing with eTransPlus was not a good fit for me either.  I think it is probably a good company, it just didn't work for me as my start date kept getting pushed back, I was running out of work, there were program glitches, etc.  Sometimes some things are just not meant to be.  I hope you get on with Keystrokes again.  I know it sounds kind of gushy, but I have found them to be truly wonderful people.  I don't need someone to constantly sing my praises or anything -- decent pay and plenty of work is enough -- but it is kind of nice to hear thank you every now and then, and know that if you have a problem arise, someone will listen and try to help you.

Again, thanks for posting -- great to hear from you!  Good luck!

I miss YOG also! Good company, great line rate, and awesome account.

I hope you hear from them if that is (sm)
what you really want. I hope you have better luck than we had. Best wishes!!!!
So sorry to hear this! I hope that you
you. One time years ago a boss told us we were worth our weight in gold and should be treated as such. Sounds like you should be treated like gold. Hope the holidays shine bright for you, and wish you and the other posters best of luck for finding a great job.
Great company, great boss, great account!!!nm

So sorry to hear about that Michelle! I hope that you are okay now.
I was all happy when the e mailed me, but when I looked at the archives here, it said same thing you are saying. And they state they are the #1 MTSO employer by some organization. Oh, brother. I am sticking with my regular job, and if I take on extra work, it is going to be with a small mom and pop. Things are too wacky in the MTSO world these days. Thanks for your advice and I hope that you find something so you can get over this horrible experience with them!
I am so sorry to hear that!! Hope things have changed
for your sake:( Terrible co. IMO
I am so sorry to hear that. I hope you find another position very soon.
nm
Ugh .. sorry to hear about the migraine. Hope you feel better soon. sm

I work for a decent company and am relatively happy, although it is IC work, and I do not really feel like I am treated like an IC.  I basically am anchored to my desk morning, noon, and night so I can be there ... but then again, it is not like George Clooney is banging on my door to whisk me away anywhere, so most days I am thankful just to have a job.  I did get a promising lead for a company that pays 2 cpl more than what I make now, but I will know more on Tuesday.  Still ... the selling cheap crap gig is very appealing.  I've never gone crabbing but that sounds good too.

I am glad to hear that a lot of money can be made with MT work. This gives me hope for the future.

GREAT! I hope all this gets something sm
opened up and investigated into. Sure needs to be!!!
Thanks so much!! Hope you have a great day too.

Hope it is not a BAD account...nm
nnnxxx
I hope it's great news!
We all need some good news anymore, LOL.
That's great! It gives me hope that my team
might get some accts like that one day. Right now, all our accts still have inhouse MTs. Hopefully, your situation makes for steady work for you and your teammates.
Well I hope you get an account with work
>:(
Did they offer you another account or just hope you all
xx
Great to hear.....
Congratulations!!!!!!
System great, pay good, everything great, but most managers from old Edix, problems, poor people ski
when you are out of work, you are out of luck. If you are good at brown-nosing, are tough enough to be without any self-esteem, and have maybe money coming into the household on the side in case you tick someone off, then you may succeed, for a little while.

Don't ever ask questions or have problems with anything. Don't ever have a problem. Don't think you will have any control over anything you do, either.

A few 'good' managers remained when I left, but the new ones were all from the old Edix, and were completely into numbers, cared nothing for individual MTs...if there is work, you BETTER be working. If there no work, you will hear nothing, no one will help you.
I hope I don't get that account you're talking about either.
I am a little scared now.
I hear Amphion is great.
I hear they are mainly clinic transcription but I don't know.
Thank you. That is a great, factual article. I hope the others read it.
nm
i hope not...freedom of speech is what makes US great...
why can't we vent our frustrations? we are in a grieving process for all that we have lost.
I hear it is very small account
Only a few people got on it.  The big one cancelled.
Great company and I hear that work will
soon be picking up. I was hired recently, too, and I am willing to wait on some more work just to have the nice people to work for. Also, they pay half of the social security tax, not half of your taxes. But compared to IC deductions, that is a big help.
That's great - glad to hear you got response
I'm glad you posted a followup as I was wondering how it was going for you.
sorry to hear that. I guess it depends on the account
just like anything else. Some hospital accounts use several services, so the quality of drafts will differ from poor to excellent, depending on who works on the account.

Overall, I love the platform and it is very user friendly.
Sorry to hear of any quitting. I am on the "busy" account..
I do like it a lot, but I also worry about overhiring.. and forcing me out of a job that I love..
sometimes you'll hear that there's a new account coming on board ...
sometimes that happens, sometimes it falls through ...

I'm not saying that they absolutely don't care ... but particularly if you are an independent contractor, it genuinely is not their problem.

Either way, the people who are willing to sit and wait for work will stay ... I've been one of them ... not ready to switch companies, need the lines to pay the bills.

I remember when, first of all, work was often backed up (and ALWAYS out of TAT -- the first 7 or so years I did MT) these were hospital accounts being done done by local companies who had history with each other ... The national bought out and underbid the smaller companies and one of their big selling points was TURNAROUND and they agreed to penalties into their contracts ... IMHO, many turnaround times I've heard of are silly -- ER reports and STAT H&Ps/Consults do affect patient care and could justify a 2-4 hour TAT -- most other work types could easily fit a 12-24 hour TAT with the option to flag as STAT.

It was great to be able to work any hour of any day -- now it's much more iffy and harder to make up lines if you have an unexpected down time. JMHO.
Let's hear from the MTs that love their companies, their jobs and have a great line count
I love where I work, happy with line count, happy with earning potential.  Love being an MT and working at home.  You???
I would give them a try, you hear good and bad, but mostly good. nm

Personally, DSG is a good fit for me. Pay is good and on time, sound quality depends on the account
and I like the platform. There is not much weekend work, although sometimes is available.  I get along well with the management, no major complaints.  There is pay incentive once you get over a certain number of lines in a pay period.  I work as an IC, so can't help with benefits, insurance questions, etc.
Good company, great people, good benefits.
Affordable insurance. Good luck!
Good for you. Just hope you didn't
displace a former MT who worked for the transcription company.  A friend of mine is an MT with a national and is in a situation where her company hired the former Transcriptionist of the client/customer and she's losing her account because of it because they're bending over backwards to keep the former employee happy and my friend is very upset about the preferential treatment this new MT is receiving.
hope you get in with them.. good luck

Thanks - you have a good day too, and hope we have lots
of work to make our line counts!
Good luck, but I sure hope sm
they are truly giving a good representation of the kind of work they offer during the trial.  You wouldn't believe what we get and I'm not talking about a tiny minority of the work.  MOST of it is ESL, bad audio.
Yes that was the account I was on and it was GREAT account...sm
So if they are going to mess several things up: 1) Pay for their employees, 2) Losing a big account like that one, 3) Hiring supervisors that just wanted to chit-chat and lose production then I would think that is NOT a company to go for. But I had to learn it the hard way - having my payday be weeks late during Christmastime. But I gave them the benefit of the doubt for 2 more paydays - they were late also....
Good luck and I hope you get your money!! nm

A Prayer for all MTs-Hope this starts out a good day for all
Bless all MTs this day, Dear Lord, and grant us work to do. Guide us in need to jobs with those who are really fair and true. Give us strength mind, body and spirit to pursue work which helps the human race; a profession that though behind the scenes, supports the health care pace. And keep us from discouragement when days are not so fine; remind the docs we listen to that humans are on the end of their line. And bless our hands, ears, eyes and hearts; on them pour out your care. But most of all, Lord, bless this board where we gather just to share.
Sorry you had a bad time with them. Hope you found a good fit elsewhere. nm
nm
I have been looking and hope to find a good 'home' soon! NM
oo
Good luck June I hope to be out
of there soon also.  There's no way you can make a living there with this company.   Good luck.
I hope you have found a good position. nm

Good for you and hope you get started on a new position soon
Great for you! I hope you don't miss much money waiting for the new job to start... but to validate you, here is a true conversation I had with my doctor... I was talking about my company going VR and my stress level (the meeting with doc was about improving stress for health reasons). I said that I knew no matter how fast I could type, with my personal need to have great QA, always wanting to send great reports, that I could not afford to go VR. I did not explain further. He totally understood. He told me that for a while he typed his own notes into his system. Then, he had a trial of VR and he had to edit the VR and it was a disaster!!! He said he could write/type faster than he could correct, and too many errors came up. He said among his colleagues the other docs, they really don't care of we do traditional or VR, they just want great work, and if VR does not provide it they, the docs, will go elsewhere (to another vendor) for their service. He said that he understood that we get paid half or less and that would be silly. He suggested to either hang in there with my VR job while finding a straight transcribing job and have no problem saying bye bye to my present VR job no matter how wonderful the company is! He said eventually if all MTs (even the ones in India, as he is from India himself) leave for lack of pay and ability to pay bills, and certainly when the docs get poor work and demand a better provider of transcription, the companies will soon switch back to the traditional way of typing, or pay us a lot more for correct the VR (it takes more time to do, he admits). Bottom line is, the docs will not put up with poor quality b/c they are responsible for patient care. So, he told me to hang in there. If I can't pay bills, go to straight transcription, go back to school and get funding, etc. He said he promises that it will come back to our skills and we will have to be paid for what our knowledge is worth as we always have. Finally doc said, Docs don't care how it is done, as long as it is done right. If it is not done right, they will demand it be done right and that is good for the MT. Sorry for the long post but this is a true story directly from the doctor, as he has first-hand experience. Thanks for reading such a long post, hope it helps, and good luck to you and all MTs who refuse to put up with this treatment!
good story, and I hope so with that pendulum, but - sm
right now, my mind frame says shoulda trapped and married that naughty physician and kicked this profession in the perverbial pratt.

50/50 California divorce works for me. lol

Why does someone only want to hear the good
about a company.  Isn't enough that they offshore and lied about it, of in the event of some other companies that checks are late or bounced.   Any of the above is enough to make me not want to work for a company.   In most cases there are multiple complaints against xx company, so it isn't just a personality clash, an MT who produced a bad product and got fired, etc.  If they aren't going to listen to the experience of others, why even ask.
That's good to hear! I wonder why
there are a lot of people who say they run out of work there though? That would be my only concern. Otherwise, sounds like a good company. Another question - do they do voice recognition and do you HAVE to do it? Where I work now everything is going to VR and I HATE it - income has dropped drastically.
