Last year, from Keystrokes we got Blockbuster gift cards for Christmas and for MT week sm
we got candles and candy. I always get a birthday card too, which is very nice.
Christmas gift appreciated, but turns out not to be a gift if there is no work the day after

Christmas Day.  Yes, it was $25.00 (twenty-five).  I lost that much this morning when there was NO WORK.  I had so hoped to have a good paycheck this pay period, and was working very hard to have one -- as I need the money SO BAD.


I was appreciative of the $25, rather than some kind of novelty advertising token with company logo on it, like some MTSO's would give to a prospective client, etc.  Oh, yes, I made very good use of the $25.  I took it and paid my high-speed internet bill, a necessary tool for working my job --  which the $25 was very much short of paying that phone charge.


THANK YOU TT for the $25. 


Maybe it's a Christmas gift
in appreciation of a year of hard work.  Does Amphion ever send Christmas gifts to MTs?  If so, why gripe?
Christmas Gift
Those morons sent me chocolates for Christmas.  Unfortunatley my son was here to accept delivery.  I would have sent it back.  I'd much rather have my PAY!!!  They have the nerve to have BONUS pay in their ad for new MTs when they can't even pay the ones that are working there now.  I was on their payroll, so it had nothing to do with IC invoicing.  I think they guesstimate at lines because they are never close to what I have actually typed.  Glad I'm done with them!
Christmas Gift?
My gift  was an email from the company wishing me a Merry Christmas and then they sent out emails Christmas Eve and Christmas day asking MTs to log in and work some;-)

Got a card,coffee mug with coffee, and lines that day. Also had pay deposited a day or so earlier, and that's much better than I've heard from other companies, at least pay-wise.

This is my second Christmas with this company and is my second gift so there are MTSOs out there who do care about their MTs and do show their appreciation for hardwork!

Once again - DR has provided a nice Christmas bonus in time for last minute shopping.  I know you have to be there for so long to get it, but not sure how long.  This has got to be the best company ever.  I don't see other people posting about nice bonuses - usually cheesy gifts.  TY Diskriter, you really do care.

I have only worked for MDI a few months, but I can tell you they appreciate their MTs. Compared to the doctor I have worked for 9 years for and whom USED to give me a $1000 bonus, but this year.. NOTHING.. I had been working both jobs, but that made me decide to tell the doctor to take a hike and devote all my time to MDI.. where I'm appreciated...

We usually get a gift card for Walmart.. Last year,
I donated mine to a single mom whose 10-year-old was not going to get a Christmas because mom couldn't afford it. I've been a single mom so my heart went out to her and I got a bunch of people to donate items i.e. tree, ornaments etc.. food, gifts etc. I felt good about it and I know my employer would have felt good about me donating it to a family in need.
Christmas bonus/card? Did anyone get anything this year?
I know there is still time but usually we get a card by now.
I was scheduled to work Christmas this year for TT as well....sm
But on Monday my DD went in for emergency surgery. I did not even come home for the first 2 days and only made 1 call to the office to explain early in the week. My DD was finally discharged on Christmas only to return to the ER last night. Do you know what TT's answer was with my 1 measly phone call and one abbreviated email I had time for to them? Family comes first - PERIOD. So, I am on trying to help out today if they need me and I will be GLAD to suffer thru some low work time and stare at a blank screen for a company who has those kinds of values. I VERYMUCH appreciate my job with TT and all that they stand for...

I don't feel that the MDI/Transcend plays favorites at Christmas.  I appreciated the thoughtfulness of the signed Christmas card and gift card.  Also, I work the holidays when someone on my team wants the day off. This is a good company to work for.  I agree with the above posts--if you're not happy, there are other companies who may suit you better.  Happy Holidays to all!

I thought a card to my supervisor (if she is still there) from MQ would be appropriate.  Actually that is the only person I have contact with anymore.  For all the years I have worked at MQ, someone, either supervisor/area manager, etc. has sent a card.  Hope it continues.  Miss the personal touch of working in an office sometimes. 


My second job I don't know exactly how many are in the office, but thought sending a group food type gift if shipping alone isn't a killer.  Haven't been with them long, but they are so sweet, I bet they also send out cards and bet they are personally signed and not just printed.

Christmas Bonus survey...Has anyone received a bonus yet this year or expect one?
We usually get one but haven't see it yet. Just curious if anyone has been so lucky as to get one.
I realize this, just hoped to hear from other MTs
and check out the companies they are happy with and make my own consensus!
Frustrated that's all. Line count not going up I hoped.
I guess its the honeymoon is over thing, happens anywhere. Just a bad day I guess. Can't get lines this week, have to do more to help workflow. Dont know how to do more to help out. That kind of a thing.
Got a card and $50 bonus from Transtech last year.

I'm probably 1 of 3 people to ever leave TransTech over a year ago.

TransTech has continued this LOW/NO work for more than a year now with

only promises for new accounts, while losing accounts, overhiring.  This low/no work situation has been going on TOO long !


We can be sure that if management's/supes/QA/inhouse employees' paychecks were affected by this continuing LOW WORK situation, something would be done IMMEDIATELY by management.  But they still get their bonuses, raises, bennies, trips to LV, etc.


So, so, so sad that this excellent company has lost respect for their MT's by NOT providing work for them on a consistent basis, yet demanding a schedule !   


There would be no Transtech if their MT's were not working to keep accounts.  How do you think, mgmt, you would be able to keep your paychecks/jobs without your MT's ? ? ?


The *sweetie* just does not show respect for me.  MONEY DOES !  Jobs coming into my queue makes me money !

Transtech DID have a service help out with their work -- I know for a fact -- about a year ago.
How long have you been with TT?  Anyone in mgmt will tell you that they outsourced work to another service in the past.

If there was a major MT or Editor error, all names would be copied on the email, including the lady at the facility, so surely when she would see names like Sringamurthy Jappathana she'd know it wasn't somebody local...lol
Surely you don't think they mean anything by that
statement! Cherry pickers will be tolerated and the only people who suffer from it are the ones getting the crappy reports they skip. Statements like those are placebos, make you think they care or they're really gonna do something when all they really care about is the client and TAT.  Long as it gets done, they don't care how or who. 
Well, surely you don't expect Spheris to
learn from the lawsuits the Squid is tangled in, do you? If your MTs can't get an accurate line count, then an accurate line count cannot be billed. Any time a company acquires another company, there will be changes (I'm not saying good changes or bad changes, just count on changes).

I worked at an MTSO who seriously wanted Vianeta but passed on it because of the line inaccuracy issue as they did not want their stellar reputation in the community to suffer. (smart move).
Surely they pay incentive as well if it's a national.
Doubt they are responsible for your every event such acct assignment, workload. I would imagine they have mgmt do that.

I surely hope you will not approach sm
your MT career with that attitude.  As a newbie, your willingness to accept constructive criticism and advice will be what makes or breaks your success.  Something to think about.  The post made a VALID suggestion and if your response is to put up your dukes and run away, you'll never make it in this field.
Surely you're smart enough to figure it out...
If companies show the MT's work, that would pretty much be comprising the privacy of patients.

In 'real life' there are ESLs that are not allowed to do VR, because the VR system cannot make them out and are left on straight transcription.

If you really think about it, you are not allowed to use contractions in MT so my aprostrophes are not needed. There is no QA patrol on here so your little nitpicking about aprostrophes just goes to show that you have some sort of mental disorder and you really need help.

my first year I made 16k. Doubled that second year. Going on year 6 with (sm)

two local accounts I earned 23,000.00 and a national I earned 35,400... 58,400 this year.  Don't ask me how many hours, though, I really have no idea.  I'm pretty motivated.  (When people ask me how many hours I work a week I reply as many as it takes  I'd say 40-50/week.  I am also a fitness instructer and personal trainer, about 5 hours a week or so.  Decent money (sometimes under the table!) but mostly I just do it for fun and to be social and wear cute work-out clothes. 


that first year was a rough one... but I consider it part of my education.

Last year, there was a letter sent that told us what we earned the previous year. sm
In the past, it has been all or nothing; if you did not hit the lines for full time for the year, you did not get PTO. I talked to my lead this morning about a last-minute vacation and she told me that the yearly packets are going out in a week or so and that the new policy will acrue PTO by the pay period or month. I like that a lot better, but she also made it sound like they are upping the amount of lines needed to acrue PTO. I normally get between 15 and 20,000 lines per pay period, so I am sure that will be fine but I am worried about the periods that have lower volumes, like most of January every year.
