Talk of "mass exodus" and trash-talking a great company

Are we even reading the same posts?

VR people have tried reasoning with these posters in an effort to reassure them and calm them down, but apparently they're off to the races and thriving on their self-generated hysteria.

So, to answer your question, YES, I have said how much I like VR, only to be accused of lying, being management, an inferior transcriptionist, etc. They don't want to hear reason. They don't want reassurance. They want to draw blood.

These people are vicious with their false accusations and assumptions, and now they're turning their efforts towards a highly respected company that I, and MANY others, love working for because they refuse to catch up with the times. VR is no surprise. It's been a force for years and yet they all act shocked when it comes to pass, and then immediately turn tail and try to denigrate TT for implementing it.

And desperate to attack? WRONG. Because I refuse to sit back and watch my profession and an employer I have nothing but gratitude and respect for run into the ground are things I will not abide.

Not thrilled with the switch? These people have the same mentality as those who were burning books in ages past.

SCARY.

I started the transition to KS before "mass exodus" sm
but just before and it sometimes required a bit of a wait before I got answers to certain things or equipment that I was supposed to get, etc. and sometimes it only happened after a follow-up email or call.  However, I would usually get a pretty quick response from the followup.  I don't know how big the staff is but I picture it as maybe medium-sized and I thought they were doing an excellent job of covering for each other during the move, vacations, and I believe someone even left the company.  It is a 180-degree difference from what I had been used to with the Mega company I left.

Because no one else will have them with their lack of basic skills. They're stuck and that's why they get on here and talk trash about their company and make all sorts of ridiculous allegations.

Either that or they love to create drama.

Why trash the company here when
There are plenty of companies out there with plenty of work and deplorable working conditions such that they are constantly hiring new MTs. Try one of them if you never want to run out of work.

some people just like to put their own interpretation and twist on everything.  Stating that you are worried about low volume is not trashing a company. 
Talking about pay, so many here talk about what you should be paid
I have years and years of experience but I think most pay is not offered for experience now and a lot of companies only have set amount to pay, whether you have done this for 30 years or 3 years. I find it amusing (as one post said below) to ask for 10 cpl in doing VR work. Listening to a talk radio show the other day caller asking about raises and why he was not getting. Interviewer asked was he valuable to the company? I just wish a MTer would have called in to let him know, raises- what in the world is that for us? I see no change in this business. The pay is terrible, see no change in that and only see more outsourcing for less work for us. This once very good career choice has just gone downhill and keeps going.

Started small; great company. Rapid growth; not so great company
First year I was there was like heaven. Then the big growth spurt when they hired managers from another company (that I had run away from before because of their bad management) and let them kind of take over. Although I have no proof it was as though I got 'bumped' by these new people when they came in and I lost a good account, good manager, etc. My paycheck went down every month lower and lower, and it became harder and harder to make my minimal lines. Having any kind of advocate was nonexistent.

It depends on you and what kind of MT you are. Seems to me there are pretty much 2 types...

Sports like basketball where you have the pros who play with finesse, and then you have street players who think it is all about physical strength, period. More and more the physical strength is winning but the art of the game gets lost more and more...

As in this country where there are almost 2 sides now, those with intellect and thoughtfulness, and those who think the only way to be strong and be a leader is to beat up everyone who does not agree with you...and force your will on others.

Suffice it to say in my opinion WMX changed its philosophy of the way it treated employees and lost its heart when it grew, and it was literally almost overnight...

If you are a mass producer who has no care of what it takes to make money, if you are a 'street fighter' then it would probably be for you because you WILL have to fight for everything. Fight for the right account, fight for lines, fight to be treated fairly, etc. If you appreciate MTing for the art of MTing or have any kind of joy for the profession, my guess is you will not make it there very long...

This is happening all throughout the what used to be called profession. Seems to happening all through everything these days. Humanity and heart are being pushed down to the bottom...

Some companies/entities do know what IC means, but others do not.

The job postings state IC status, but want a schedule like an employee, and pay peanuts at that.

I did talk to the company today. SM

She is mailing my check via Fed Ex.  The original must have gotten lost in the mail.  My intention was not to post negatives about the company.... and I do not feel that I have.  My original post was to inquire if whether or not anyone else was waiting on a check, as there are some companies that do have problems here and there, whether it be the payroll company they use, etc. 


I am sorry if anybody saw my post as a negative about the company.  It was just an inquiry, that's all, and everything has been resolved quickly and wonderfully.  StatIQ is great place to work and I would never discourage anyone from working for them.

I will add that getting a great pay check every other Friday from Medware really puts a huge smile on my face.

SPI exodus
Just wondering if anyone knows where a lot of the SPI, former Cymed, MTs and managers have moved on to.  Also curious if they are even hiring domestic MTs.  Almost a year to the day they announced the merger and reassured all that they were going to keep and expand their domestic team, they announced numerous accounts who requested to be offshored.  AH, HA -- SURE.

I left SPi in December after I could not take any more.  I am now with TRS and also have some of my own private accounts. 


It was the reason for the last exodus too. But
That's why I left about 5 months ago and a lot of others left before and after me for the same reason.  We were saying the same thing you're saying now, but nobody believed us.  Said we were the troublemakers and lying.  Be prepared to hear the same thing from the cheerleaders and newbies who are still on the honeymoon.
I had a feeling there was a mass exodus
earlier this year. I hung in there with them for six months, but they kept running out of work. I asked to be trained on a second account, but it didn't happen. My supervisor was very nice, but it just didn't work out. I also have 17 years of experience, and had 99+% QA scores. I agree with some of the comments above about looking things up, etc. Oh well...

I use to work there.  The dictators on my account were really good.  They use Emdat/Inscribe.  Pay on 1st and 15th by direct deposit.

Focus/Nuance is a division of Dictaphone and it's owned by Indians and based in Bangalor.


Offshoring for them is when they actually have to get US MTs to do work.

Talking to owner of a company
The reason I would talk to an owner of a company is simply this. If you have gone to the people you are told do and nothing is resolved it is time to go over their heads and elsewhere. When I did this he/she had no idea it was that bad. Now you know why?

I would try Keystrokes for radiology. They have a lot of work and new accounts. They require 5 yrs experience, but they took me with 3 years, 8 months. I make more there now than with the hospital I was working for.
Talking about low pay is not bashing a company

AGain, they wouldn't be hiring if the pay was not so darned low!  I heard they are very nice.  I have not personally worked for them, but people want replies whether they are good or bad, and even the moderators say to not take everything you read on here to heart. 


If people want to apply and be paid that low rate, then go ahead. 


If Mary H is so honest and ready to help, why didn't she answer the pay rate question?  It's a fair question that deserves a fair answer. 


There is no problem with tooting your own horn, but when someone goes quiet all of a sudden when the subject of pay rate comes up, it just sends a message that the pay is probably very low. 


Some people are not worried about nice management because that's not what pays the bills.

Companies are low paying; however, clients of your own is where the $$$$ is.

Great little company..I worked there for a short time, IC, and pay always on time, great owner too!
I had good dictators, they use FTP, and I had a 12-hour window to return the work.

She says they promised to call.  With this being basically a virtual profession (not local) that's as bad as the hiring party being absent for the interview......  It looks like Keystrokes likes mean people who say mean things to other people on message boards.  If you are the type they hire, then you can have it!!  I'm not the OP either, but I think you have a crabby attitude.  The OP has the right attitude in that she is holding someone accountable for their promise.  It is kind of funny how their dirty laundry is on this board and how posters have no problem broadcasting the fact that the HR person was overwhelmed.  Hello?  Red flag?????  I'd say so for sure......

Small company GREAT COMPANY

Axolotl is a WONDERFUL company with great benefits and competitive pay.  We have maybe 100 MTs but are growing rapidly.

Great company!
I am very happy working for MDI. I have worked for them full time for a few years and part time before that. It is a great company to me and it's very easy for me to be able to call and talk to my TL or anyone above her if I have an problems/concerns/questions. There are lots of negative postings about them on this site, but have not had the bad experiences that they have had. My experience has been nothing but positive!!!!

Good pay, good accounts, flexibility, best MTSO I have ever worked for in my 20 years as an MT.  Just started with them a little over a month ago, & couldn't be happier!  IC status only, though, but that's not a problem for me.  Anything else I can tell you, just let me know  
They are a great company!
QA'd their work for a short while, but it was a second job and couldn't keep up working 2 jobs, so quit at JLG.  They are a small, family-like company.  The owner is an MT and has had offers to sell out to the big boys. but she loves her company and her employees and will not sell out.  If you have a chance to work for them, you will not be sorry!

They are friendly staff as stated, pay is good, but no benefits. But the pay, plenty of available work, and understanding of the company makes up for lack of benefits.  I have had family illness over the past several months and they have been understanding.  I feel bad for not being as dependable as I was when I first started, but they have really hung in there for me, so I am hoping to return the favor and help them out as much as I can. GREAT company.  You cannot go wrong.  I was thinking about looking for another job because they have no benefits, but they are just too good to risk that.  So, never again, will I even think about that.  You will not go wrong with them.  I have been with them almost one year and they are as nice as they were from the beginning!


Great company.
I actually wanted to work for them, but I failed their online quiz.  The question lines and answer boxes were so close together, I am sure I marked the wrong boxes just because it was impossible to differentiate one question from another.  I have been an MT for 18 years.  I knew the answers to every one of those questions, except for maybe 1 or 2 I was confused on.  I don't know if it was timed or not.  If it was timed, maybe that is why I failed.  I did the test in between phone calls.  Good luck with that!
Great company

I have worked with them since the company started and they have been GREAT!!  I can give you names of LOTS of other MTs  that agree.


you will see bad listings about them on here but think about the people that it is from--fired and mad people.


AccuStat pays on time and the people are just great to work with.....I can't express that enough!!!
