Agree!! Sounded too good to be true.
You do not get that kind of pay and only require 1 year experience!
YIKES... I guess I knew it sounded to good to be true. I wonder if anyone ever gets sign-on bonuses
at any company. Maybe we should take a survey on who actually gets a sign-on bonus. How depressing is that. Now I'm bummed.
Really? I thought it sounded like a good line rate.
nm
Sorry to hear that. I talked with Ann a few times, and it sounded like a good company. nm

I took it to mean.......too good to be true. However,
I emailed just to see, right? LOL.......made dummies of all us, I guess.
2 good 2 b true? c msg
Posting on MTJobs has V.P. Transcription pay for a radiology accountn at 16/cpl for NO experience.  Am I not reading this right?
If it looks too good to be true
that is what the story sounds like, millionaires all over the place in just 25 years. Yep, just sign me up today (Not).
So very true. A good laugh. Thanks n/m

What sounds too good to be true - REALLY IS!!!
Gads! Three phone lines? What in the world could you possibly do with THREE phone lines?

What freaks me out about that posting is

$12.50 AN HOUR SALARY
STRONG ESL

At the end of the day, babe you will have earned every penny of that money. My head hurts just thinking of working that dictation puzzle.

Those dictators are the worst of the worst and they can't find anyone who wants to do it. ECK!

Not true. Good things have been said. sm

Actually only one person said anything negative and that was that they didn't pay, but others who have and are working for them countered that and said they do indeed pay.

I started with them last week and am happy so far.  Haven't worked a full pay period so can't say for sure on the pay/don't pay issue.

They have an office in Texas and an office in India.  If you don't like/want to work for a company that works with India also then it isn't for you, otherwise it has been good for me so far.  The account I am on is pretty easy and I am being very productive.  It is editing and transcription, from what I've seen about 1/3 standard transcription and 2/3 editing VR files.

Hope this helps.

If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. (sm)
Nothing is as it appears to be there. I would look elsewhere.
Sure sounds too good to be true.
If anyone has any info I would sure be interested. TIA.
True but they have more good qualities

Too good to be true but any QA jobs available

Sounds too good to be true? It is.
Ok, so you are a provider and you want to eliminate your MT costs. So you either go with VR or EMR (template point and click). So you think if I just buy this program I can eliminate my costs of creating a record. So you fire your MT (s) and buy into this electronic thing. But then you find that you need to hire IT staff to make it keep chugging along. So you are replacing someone who does piece work by working by the line with someone who needs salary, PTO, sick pay, benefits, etc to keep that electronic thing going. So in the long run you aren't saving any money. In fact you are creating another boondoggle by having to install a body on your precious real estate and in the bargain you must take them to raise. This won't last long once these idiot providers realize the costs outweigh the benefits of going electronic.
I feel if it sounds too good to be true,
there usually is a catch..susan
I don't think that's true or fair. Most of the posts about KS are good. sm
I work there, have worked there a while and am very happy and know many, many others who have been there a while and are very happy too. They have improved rather than fallen apart as many companies seem to do. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a fair, caring, well-paying, high line count, good benefits providing company. I am in acute care but know many others in radiology and ortho and clinic. Yes, we compare notes with each other (many came from Edix and MRC) and everyone is happy. They keep getting new accounts and the new accounts are getting bigger and bigger.

I agree that OT pay (or lack of) was a problem but when they said no more OT work, many complained to the point that they said to work the production you want.

It is disheartening to sit back and read posts that are so negative when I know the opposite to be true. It can chase people away from working for a wonderful company. I think we see more posts because there are more employees and because they are always hiring due to new accounts. I also know that every manager, including the owner, that I have ever talked to, really cares and really wants to continue to make Keystrokes better and better. I think they are doing a great job.

As for running out of work, I know that there are ups and downs in transcription and they try to be fair during those times, spreading the work around. I also know that sometimes when a new account starts, the volume will be go up and down because they are working on the perfect staffing mix.

If you are having a problem, not getting enough work, etc. you really should talk to them. They will bend over backwards to make it work for you.
Good for you!! Its true, IC status is a joke!
nm
Sounded great, but then saw you have to
nm
Unfortunately, no, but they sounded great!
nm
Sounded like a big whiner to me.

Very true. Good reason to never burn bridges in this biz.

Good post, Amber. And true, too. All professions
restructuring.  But anyone with eyes can see that even though the MT profession has changed, there's still a TON of work out there.  You know, it behooves the employers out there to have doom and gloom run rampant and the MTs thinking that they can't do any better than 6-8 cpl.  Sometimes I wonder if they're the ones spreading most of the doom and gloom, and then some naive MTs are picking it up and shouting it too!
I've always heard if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. n/m

I apologize if I sounded rude to you
It just gets my goat when somebody seems to show a lack of professionalism and others of us work so hard to try and be the best MT we can be, and are working very hard to support our families.  The attitude of working whenever I feel like it causes companies to overhire and then the reliable MTs don't have enough work.  I am truly not trying to be rude to you and I do apologize if I sound that way, but your attitude is detrimental to the other MTs and also to any company that might hire you.  I am sorry, but I still would never hire somebody with that kind of a work ethic.
That was a bizarre post. Sounded like someone
with a vendetta. I haven't seen anything like that at Webmedx. They should go after that poster for libel. Good company.
it sounded pretty snitty to me..sm
and it was the *adding of your stats* that made it sound like you were bragging. Your post didn't sound like it was meant to help, but to criticize and brag about what you can do. That would not instill confidence in anyone who was having a question about their proofing skills. You are lucky to have accounts where you can excel. Unfortunately that is not always the case for others. Some have to struggle to make their lines and if extensive proofing to keep from making mistakes is holding back production, just a simple answer on how she could improve that would have been sufficient. Your post sounded like pouring salt on an open wound. JMO.
Thanks, I thought she sounded familiar. I was with YOG then and now with MQ. SM
It would be so nice to work with YOG people again. I really miss that place. It was sure a lot less stressful back then!
let me rephrase...... sorry if I sounded rude
but it kind of felt like you were implying it is my own fault to not have work right now -- The actual POINT of my original post was that if they want to force us to pick a shift then we should get work during that time and NOT have to work late or all night to get it........
Girls, hold onto your hats. Say it isnt so...if something is too good to be true..it usually is.
An ad on the job seeker's for 12 cpl...yeah right. I hope that Janis Reed realized she just opened a can of worms and her inbox is going to be flooded. I just still wish I believed in Santa too. Everyone tell me the skinny if your brave enough to apply. I bet no one thought they'd see the day when they would become paranoid about seeing an ad for 12 cpl LOL.. At 6 cpl, I'm disgusted, at 7 cpl, I'm not impressed, at 8 cpl..maybe...if easy clinic account, at 9 cpl, taking a second look, at 10 cpl, you've got my attention, getting a litte skeptical that it isn't all ESL, 11 cpl, Right!!!!, but 12 cpl...NO FLIPPING WAY.. Keep me posted.
TT has paid maternity leave? Sounds too good to be true..
Just wondering if anyone has used this paid maternity benefit?  Is there a catch? This is such a rare benefit now days it just seems too good to be true.
Good for you, if that is true. It is really a losing game. Wouldn't advise anyone to pursue it.

You have to lie a lot, wouldn't you agree?  It is all bait and switch for the recruiters.  They promise a lot, but the companies do not follow through.  Care to say who it is you are a hiring manager for?  LOL.  Never heard it called that before.

This is not true. I have been there a month and get a good line rate and paid for spaces. ??? nm
nm
it all sounded great.......until the C-phone part.
I really don't want to get a second phone line.

Good luck to you. Sounds like it is working well for you.
Sorry that was dumb.. current and new..sounded redundant..LOL nm

Yes I thought it sounded nice. Just hard to change but it is time. Always a little bit of anxiety
about another company and leaving what you know and sort of starting over but sometimes it is time. You know, the fat lady sang.
Oh great. I knew the whole thing sounded familiar....so, everyone is getting the runaround. You eith
Not, the I need to talk to the account managers etc. Now, I'm bummed out. I knew it was too good to be true. I wonder if there is really any work at all.
Glad that's true for you for 8 years. Not true for many. I love the company, but I do run out of
as do many others. Wish I were as fortunate as you.
Not necessarily true. That is not a true test of skill.
Do you know how many people get others to take tests for them? It happens and it happens more often than you might think. The only skill that shows anyway is that you can do it.

We are actually more than a transcriptionist. We are specialists in our field and we are supposed to know some things regarding anatomy and physiology as a working base. That's how we can judge if a physician dictates something in accurately and many do because they can't pronounce or just are not thinking. That's why our skills of basic knowledge come into play and that means basic knowledge of body parts. If our job was just to sit there and type without thinking about what we are transcribing, then all patients are in trouble and this is just based on what I see as a QA person.

It's more than just knowing how to transcribe and some of the companies have discovered how to know what your basic knowledge is based on what you have picked up with your experience by utilizing your references etc. Hopefully that utilization of your references has taught you something that does stick in your head.

Beliefs like yours are just so far off base. You have to know what you are doing. It's not just about being able to listen and type. Base knowledge is a very important thing and the services have to find a way to know that knowledge base that is there in your head.

It is true. Any job has its good days and bad days.
Perhaps you'd like to just keep your old job and try this one out. Just because a poster here is crabbing about it, or even if as in the past there have been negative posts, odds are that there are very happy people who don't even post or know that this board exists. As Alice says. Everything is relative. The fact that this company is hiring and pays may be a place which is a blessing. As opposed to digging ditches on day labor for example. Or somebody might prefer digging ditches. This is just an example. Sometimes we who are employable, even though we don't make as much as we used to in this business, or as much as we would like to, we still if working at home do not pay for gas to go to work, career clothes, deal with office politics, have to look at a boss who writes us up if we are a minute late, etcetera. I don't make half as much as I used to, but I don't send my 3 children to day care which by the way saves us money. SO I remind my husband I am worth that in addition to my salary if I had a job outside. No job is perfect. I am not even sure if Focus is any good or not, I have not worked there. But if one poster says there are good days and bad, I say that is the most honest answer you are going to get anywhere, and if you need a job badly, how is it to hurt trying it out, until you know for sure for yourself? THanks for listening. But sometimes this board gets to be a bit much with the agendas of people railing on other people like the OP here who just wanted all opinions instead of just one side. Balance is always great. And, if things seem lop-sided, then it is a good thing to seek out both sides. IMHO.
The best co. ever! Good work, good people, good pay, good bennies.
x
This may be true... and that is philisophically true, but
and pay bills while being screwed? This is what I think the OP is scared of... I certainly agree and honestly think it is unfair to put people in this precarious position... on one hand be grateful you still have your job, or a job, and on the other, immediately there will possibly be a cut in pay, for which you may have to give up your home, or medicine or reduce your budget for food. I don't know if I am the only one, but I think the OP still has a good head on her shoulders and that may be the problem...at least for employers out there who are switching to VR.. and their employees
Yes there is! Good pay and good bonuses and good benefits.

Personally, DSG is a good fit for me. Pay is good and on time, sound quality depends on the account
and I like the platform. There is not much weekend work, although sometimes is available.  I get along well with the management, no major complaints.  There is pay incentive once you get over a certain number of lines in a pay period.  I work as an IC, so can't help with benefits, insurance questions, etc.
I'm with them. Good work environment, easy accounts and I'm making really good money. nm

Fairly flexible but they do like a schedule. Insurance is good. Benefits are good in my opinion.

For the past week, work has been a little slower but I think that is common in every company..some days busy and other not.

Does anyone recommend a pretty good company that is good to work for, pay always on time and plenty
of work.  I know that is asking a lot, but just curious?
Strictly IC, good company, hard accounts, good platform.
Good pay, always on time, no direct deposit though.
Is Transcend a good company with a good platform to work on. They are advertising.
