That's because you're an IC. For employees, NOT flexible. And no work. nm

I think they're flexible about that

I've been there for a year; agreed to work a set shift, but then was reminded by supe the window is there, and I can always flex my time - if there's down time due to IT issues, they certainly believe in it, if there's OT available, I work it during my window, etc.  They're not going to micromanage your time clock, if something occasionally comes up on their end or mine, and I punch out for a while and come back and finish my time during the window, nobody notices or comments.  I officially work 3pm - 11pm, my window is 3pm-3am.  As long as I punch in promptly at 3pm, they don't seem very worried at what point I punch out.

I think its merely a matter of wanting a guarantee that most of the time you'll be present and accounted for during the set shift.  As someone else mentioned, I think some people were abusing it, so they're not trying to give people the idea that they can just work whenever each day.  If I started consistently showing up a couple hours late, when the work is lighter, it might become a problem, so I wouldn't do that unless I cleared it with my supe.

At Transcend, if you're flexible and
your accounts are low, you'll never run out of work.  They bring on new accounts all the time also - I've never run out of work with the odd holiday with maybe lighter than normal work.  If you limit yourself to one account you might be out of luck when it's light but there is always a need to help in other accounts.  Good luck!
They're going to treat you the same as all other employees
and you'll not get your way by threatening and stomping your feet. You hold no more weight than the rest of us with them. Just how expensive is it for YOU to type for MQ who is PAYING YOU? LOL
Well, as you said, that's as an IC. I think we're talking about employees. nm
x
You're shocked and embarrassed that your employees
do a million lines per month?  Why, is that bad?  Should they be doing more lines, or should you be paying them more per line?  Wouldn't using Dragon Naturally Speaking get rid of a few of your employees?  It doesn't take nearly as long to edit as it does to type and proof.  Do your employees use text expanders?  What are you really asking here?  The gist of what I'm getting is that you want to make more money.
Depends on if you're talking about US employees only or
Still at about 12K total including ICs and ILPs.

I you're going to treat your employees poorly, you
.
Hope they're already told the employees at the hospital that they are out of a job. I don't t
they should post specifics like this.
Yes, they outsource, yes you really need to be flexible due to not enough work going around on some
accounts but they are easy to work with as far as leaving you alone to do your work. The benefits are pretty good but you have to maintain that certain line count production to get them and sometimes that can be challenging. It is just hard to have asked for a day schedule and placed on an account that really doesnt want you until until later in the day. I am not that flexible because I have a set schedule with kids, but if your a go-with-the-flow kind of girl, I'd say to try them out.
First Choice Medical- flexible? weekend work
x
Just be flexible with your work types and accounts and you should be fine.
nm
Acute and/or clinic work? Set schedule or flexible hours? Thank you! nm

Why would anyone what to work for practically nothing. I make 5 cpl editing, flexible schedule etc.
As long as they can get people to take those ridiculous wages that is what they will offer. Your an IC so you have no benefits, thus they do not have much of an overhead and you can bet they are getting a whole heck of a lot more cpl than they are offering their MTs.. but I guess that is the only reason they are in business... to make a huge profit. Unfortunately, at YOUR expense. What a sad day... 1.5 cpl..
Oh, I forgot to mention....must be flexible and have all day to devote to waiting for work.
The work fluctuates too much. Feast or famine there.
Much more flexible than MQ. 12-hr window to do your work. Rate is lower, but they do have incentives
Haven's started yet, but E-mail me if you'd like and I'll tell you what I can. The Q was just unbearable to me.
How flexible is flexible? A window of time? nm

Need good small company to work for with flexible schedule - e-mail me.nm
nm
Keystrokes....very flexible, tons of work, great leads, good pay...
I love it there...
DSG is awesome-pay on time, management is great, plenty of work, flexible schedule. nm

Anyone know of a company looking for 13 years experience to work flexible part-time shift
I'm getting my real estate license but still want to keep my transcription job part-time.  I'm looking for a job that will allow me to work about 20 hours a week and still have the flexibility to show a home on the spur of the moment.  Thanks, I would appreciate any info!
yes, but I was told as an IC that if work was slow ICs get no work since they are nto employees
nm
I want to know why ICs are still allowed to work when employees aren't getting work!!!
ICs should be the first to get NJA!!!!
If you're PT you're required to work

8 of your hours in one weekend day.  There's no extra pay for it though.

I have always had work when everyone else does and am out when employees are out so I am not sure I
buy that story that employees get work first. I think that is not true. I have looked into that in my office and it is as I say on this message. We all have work or we dont and there is no employees work and SE dont.
Employees are guaranteed work before
Ask your supervisor
Employees that work hard
I am sure that this may be the case in some instances, but to lump sum all MTs/editors/employees is not fair and accurate.  I am a very hard working employee.  I work 7 days/nights/weekends every week.  I work and volunteer for ALL holidays even when not scheduled and I worked WHENEVER I was asked to work extra to cover for vacations or sickness.  I have not complained, I have always been SO thankful to have my job.  What did that result in?  Well, let me tell you.  I am now one of the Heartland Information Services laid off employees!!!!  It did not matter in the end how many hours/days/nights/weekends/holidays that I worked, I am no longer employed by the company I had planned to retire from!!  My loyality was betrayed and I am just supposed to keep going on and being loyal again?  Think about that one!  Respect and loyalty is a two way street.  Treat the employees how they want to be treated and you will be treated with respect and loyalty as well.  It cannot be low pay, minimal benefits and lay offs at a drop of a hat and in return expect absolute loyalty from employees.  We have to work together in the end.
To MDI-MD employees running out of work (sm)

Are you working on C-phone accounts or the internet platform?   I am just now in training, and I am wondering if I should re-think my decision. If there is new management in place and this is a direct result of such, I am now hesitant to continue.

What do you do if it is your scheduled weekend day to work. If you have set aside a certain time to work on a Saturday or Sunday and there is no work, do they expect you to continually check throughout the day in order to do your ''commitment?  There is no way I can do this as I have other commitments also and can't spend 12 hours trying to do 5 hours of work. I can only set aside a certain timeframe to transcribe on the weekend and if there is no work in those hours, I won't be able to get the lines done. Any insight you can shed would be so much appreciated.

I think they do an excellent job of balancing work/employees.( sm)
Call or E-mail your supervisor and let him/her know. Came from MQ myself and I am not worried at all.

I came from MQ doing a main account of 900 plus beds so it was a shock to me to see the backlogs as low as they were on my accounts with Webmedx.

Trying to balance the work flow with employees must be an absolute nightmare. So many variables.

Good luck, call and talk to somebody. These are the nicest people who seem to really value their employees. What a change huh?

But I thought all Transcend employees had to work
That doesn't make sense.  I could see that a lot of domestic MTs don't want to work 3rd shift and they need the coverage, but if all employees have to work at least 1 weekend day, there isn't much dictation over here on 3rd shift except for the occasional stats.  It would seem they wouldn't have enough work to keep the overseas MTs going.  I can't see an overseas service staying in business when they're only getting a few stats on each account for a couple hours on the weekend.
I work for another company that advertises for new employees often with the same reaction. Maybe s
those who are NOT in-the-know should keep their opinions to themselves unless they know facts. The company I work for is hiring over 100 MTs as well due to two new accounts between now and the end of the year too. Maybe a few of the biggies have lost a few accounts that the mid-size MTSOs can handle in a more personal manner. Perhaps hospitals are FINALLY getting tired of the offshore garbage they are getting back from some of the other nationals. Either way, there are some major accounts changing services and a few of the mid-size MTSOs will need to pull from the transcriptionists out there looking for a better job!
Employees work a specific shift at TransTech?
Or do you just have to commit to a certain number of lines per day?  An an IC with my current company, I commit to X number of lines per day, and as long as I get them done within 24 hours, I've met my commitment.  Don't want shift work, i.e. 7-3, 3-11, 11-7.  There is absolutely no flexibility in that.  Noticed in post before this that Diskriter requires a shift commitment or a split shift.
Actually, having employees work at home is a benefit...TO THE COMPANY
more than the employee. The company doesn't have to pay for office space, electricity, etc.....
I also work for Transhealth and love it. Most ex-employees do gripe if they were fired for some rea
You cant always believe what you hear. If they are disgruntled, they will say anything about a place to try to get back.

Some people just hold grudges.
If you work for DR they send a form letter to all employees about bonuses.sm
If you work for them and are eligle, they send a form letter out letting everyone know how it was figured.

YEE GADS the old bitty's are out today.
I am wondering if employees with Futurenet have a hard time having adequate work flow..sm
Just started there not too long ago, but now finding out I am running out of work frequently.  I have several accounts that I can work on, but all are empty most of the time.  Have they overhired or is this the normal?
Oh for sure employees, but not too often for statutory employees. Sorry for confusion.

Attn: Any Transcend employees or former employees
I have been offered a job with Transcend, but I am not completely sure about it yet and I need some input from you guys.  I have read positives and negatives regarding this company but alot of it was pretty old information.  Can anyone give me some recent feedback on them?    Thanks very much!!!
Of course we're able to work - and do so every day.
.
Maybe they're the only ones who will work for
$.06-.08 cpl that I see being offered. Those of us with experience and excellent QA scores would never sell ourselves for that little. FWIW, I've had to correct QA on more than one occasion.
If you're looking to work right away...sm
I tested for Archivus at least a month ago.  I got a response that said I did really well and that they were forwarding it on to HR.  That was the last I heard.  I had seen posts before that they didn't move very fast, but I had no idea it was quite this slow.  Can't say much about the company, and not sure it's worth the wait, but I have moved on and gotten other employment.
You're right! And yes I do sit with no work too! nm
nm
Just wondering what they're like to work for.
Have you worked for them?
Can't work when you're scheduled
They have plenty of work but can't get into their system.  They either have too many working or not enough.
You're too nice. I was going to tell her to go to work somewhere else - LOL
nm
TT does not audit any work once you're off QA
nm
We're not hiring because work is low. Nothing to do
with what goes to Precyse International.
Not a single DIME. We work for them, they're -
And $300 for a license fee? How do you spell S-C-A-M? My current company uploaded the necessary software from their computers to mine for FREE.

If that charge wasn't in the contract, talk to an attorney about it. I'd be willing to bet that what they did isn't legal.

Gad - they already gyp us in pay, and now they're 'double-dipping' by gypping us when we sign up? Absolutely incredible.
Been working there 2 days and they're already out of work. nm

If you're making yourself sick over no work

why not get another job instead of complaining about no work all the time? No job is worth getting stressed and sick over it.

Don't forget, TT is not the only company that has low/no work. Haven't you read the other posts on the other companies or do you just concentrate on putting TT down all the time?

Find another job, leave TT if it makes you so sick.

I also work for a company in Florida and we're running

low on work, just within the past 10 days. I know it's due to the hurricane though. My main account was in New Orleans and just isn't dictating and won't be for a while, I guess. They didn't dictate each day but when they did send work about 3 times a week, I could work for 2 straight days w/o running out of their work. I type a lot of lines each day and for me and the others on that account, we are now on our secondary and third accounts which takes takes work away from others.

Forget it. We're constantly running out of work now. sm
Some accounts have work, many really slim.
