That's strange. When I received an offer, I thought it was competitive and the benefits were good

Posted By: anon on 2006-06-07
In Reply to: Pretty low line rate, mediocre benefits. I had to turn - them down, too. nm

especially medical insurance benefits for family. Maybe I did not look at them very close. Could you elaborate on what you were offered? I really thought they were decent pay and benefits.

Received the Same Offer
Do you mind if I ask who you work for?
You mean you received a written offer?
From that written offer you turned them down? Does not sound like you would have received an offer if you said it was ridiculously hard.

Just received offer for IC position
15 yrs Exp....offer.....0.07 cpl 65 character line!!  This is for IC with no benes and they want me to test first as well.  Can you imagine!!  What has happened to this industry!!  13 yrs ago I worked for a company with full benes and was paid 0.10 cpl.  This is nuts.  Then of course everyone wants you to have your own equipment, work extra hours when need be but when they are low on work....Oh well....then maintain 99% QA rating.  It's so disheartening for all the knowledge we obtain.  Sorry,,,had to vent.
Just received offer from Transform for Rad.....Help sm
I have a few offers on the table, since my current account, which I truly love, is leaving and I need to look for work.......I have 20 years experience in all phases, acute, psych, clinic, rad, you name it, but radiology is my preference, and I have heard their reputation is great.  Can anyone PLEASE give me a reference, like what working there is really like!! Millions of thanks, all!
I just received an offer from SoftScript. sm
Everything seems to be on the norm and very reasonable.  Good incentive program for full-timers, etc.  Can anyone elaborate on exactly how bad the dictators are, and sound quality? I don't want to shoot off my own foot!  I really want to accept it, and perhaps I will anyway, but after seeing the negative post about the dictators, I am concerned.  I have a pretty good ESL background too.  Anyone care to share their experience?
I got an instant reply and then nothing after that. Strange I thought.

Phoenix Medcom? Received an offer....
Am wondering what they are like to work for?
I thought ATSI was affiliated with Zylomed..That would be strange, wouldnt it. .
I'd check on that if I were you.
They offer PT benefits. They were not my cup of tea
but they do offer them if you live in certain states.

What benefits do they offer..
I have an interview coming up with them and wonder how much PTO you get and what kind of insurance, disability, etc. Thanks!
Does MDI offer benefits?

Can anyone tell me if MDI offers benefits.  Is the work volume still low?  Is there a lot of VR and ESL work?

Thanks

JLS

Does anyone think FutureNet will EVER offer benefits? sm
Does anyone think Futurenet will ever offer any benefits?  PTO, free direct deposit without meeting certain line requirements, health coverage for all?  Or do you think they are going to continue what they are offering now?  Has there been ANY WORD of maybe having these in the near future? Just wondering.  Curious of whether or not to possibly take the position.  Would LOVE it if they were planning on offering ANY, if not all, of these...
This is IC pay, and they offer no benefits whatsoever. nm

They are able to offer great benefits...
because they do more than just transcription. And, for clarification, my posts are referring to the supervisor to whom the MTs report directly. Ms. Nasty-for-no-reason-at-all.
Does SPI really offer benefits? The last time I checked they did not.
Thanks for any information.
Does TransTech offer insurance benefits? nm
x
They offer similar benefits and they are not as small as you think! sm
I think they are close to 500 employees now.

They also do not lose accounts. I worked for a hospital that went with them and they just renewed for the 2nd time, been with them 6 years now.

I think that MQ is losing the accounts to companies like Keystrokes because of the offshore MQ does!
Does MDI-MD offer employee status, benefits??? SM
I could not find any of this info on their website.  I need to know before applying so I won't waste their time and mine.  Thanks very  much.
11 cpl? I guess that means we won't be able to offer benefits. nm
.No hate mail - just reality that benefits cost BIG BUCKS.
Any companies out there that offer the hospital benefits besides Diskriter
I currently work in-house a hospital but they do not have at-work positions and I would like ot work at home so I wondered if there were other companies and/hospitals that hire at-home MTs with full benefits....besides Diskriter as I have not heard a lot of good news about them and it makes me nervous to apply.
Quote from OP's post: Do they offer the same benefits as Trascend....
nm
Looked on their website but it does not appear that they offer benefits so I am right in assuming
this is not an employee status position?
Are there any companies out there that offer benefits to PT employees, such as health insurance?
I know it's a rarity but I know hospitals do.
Are there any companies who offer health benefits to part time employees?
Need insurance.
MDI-ers: Is Instant Text compatible with MDI's platform? Do they offer health benefits? nm
nm
Companies are hardly offer FT employees any decent benefits so I think is going to be rare to find
them for PT employees. I would love that too, unfortunately, I work too much just to get below average benefits. Best of luck in your search. Honestly, I think the only place you'll find benefits for part-timers is going in-house at a hospital.
Thank you. Could you elaborate on the benefits, offer single medical coverage or family, PTO etc...
Thanks
Fairly flexible but they do like a schedule. Insurance is good. Benefits are good in my opinion.

For the past week, work has been a little slower but I think that is common in every company..some days busy and other not.

TransTech for many reasons, good pay, stable company, good benefits
and flexible.
I have looked around the last 6 months and have found nothing better. Have turned down numerous jobs, and have finally decided to stay put. The better insurance plans were announced and even moreso than ever, I am staying put, and my paycheck is happy about that because it is getting better every day. Good luck to you.
Good company, great people, good benefits.
Affordable insurance. Good luck!
LOL! Is IS a very strange company run by very strange people. I have had that
very thought before and it made me laugh to see you refer to it as strange, too. Thank goodness it's not just me!

Good luck Candy!
Yes there is! Good pay and good bonuses and good benefits.

Management is good, benefits are good
As with most places, familiarity and building your templates is the key to lines. I never run out of work but, on the other hand, I said in my hiring interview that I had been through a series of good companies but where I was constantly running out of lines and so that was a huge priority for me, and they have honored their promise to keep me in full-time work. Insurance is cheap and good. PTO starts accruing from day 1. Holiday leave comes out of your PTO, but you earn 3 or more weeks a year (based on your lines typed) and they don't insist that you work it. I had Thanksgiving, Christmas eve, and New Year's day off for the 1st time in (seems like) forever! I would say, in all honesty, that the only thing I don't like is that I have to go to another page to check my lines but that takes a few seconds and is more of an inconvenience than anything.
Sounds like a good offer.
If it is high hourly with good benefits, but don't know the company.  Don't know of anywhere else offering such a good thing. Might be worth a try. Good luck!
OK, I know I misspelled competitive!!!!
So shoot me!
misspelled competitive (again)! Why do I do that?!!
:|!
Can someone offer anything good to say about EDIX side
of Spheris.  I really need this job, but I have heard some not so good things about EDIX side of Spheris.  Also, there are no recent posts regarding EDIX, so can someone offer up their good experience with them.  The last I read, they do not pay for spaces and dock for errors.  I am not looking for a fight on this board.  I just want someone's elses opininion on EDIX side of Spheris.  I really appreciate this and I thank you and god bless.
IMO, they'll keep a handful of good MTs and offer...
them Editor positions to simply clean up the garbage that will come from their probably 90%+ Indian MT force. Does not take a rocket scientist to figure this one out. Plain and simple, these companies are out for $$.
I'll get slammed for this, but I say all U.S. MT's should quit, leave them high and dry, and see how many of their clients dump them. If everyone could stand by their pride and do this, these outsourcing companies would flop. I do understand that there are those who have bills to pay (don't we all), but there are plently of companies out there who do not outsource. U.S. MTs need to accept the fact that in some situations where their company is outsourcing oversease, they are simply being used. Sad, but true. This is only my opinion.
Wow, nothing but good so far on this company. Gues if they offer me anything I will take it!
They sound like an amazing company to work for, especially the totally flexible schedule, which I would need, and the fact that they do not outsource. I sent them an e-mail asking them some questions, but I think I will go ahead and send them my resume as well. Thanks so much for all the info! It has really helped! One more question....do they offer direct deposit?
Does anyone know of any good companies that offer IC status and little ASR?
I'm working for MQ right now as flexible part-time but thinking I want to go back to IC status.  I just have this feeling that things aren't going to be as flexible as they used to be.  That and I'm sick of all the ASR and getting paid crap!  Most of my work is ASR, I'm getting way more lines, but my paycheck is smaller!?!?!  Need flexibility and a decent paycheck!  Any input would be great from anybody!  I've worked only for MQ for 8 years and wondering if there would be anything better out there!
No competitive website was mentioned by
name. Someone asked where something was posted and I said it was posted at another job website.

That told nothing. It could have been one in a million places.

Anyone know what the competitive line rate is for
x
Good pay and benefits
Does anyone know of a good company that is willing to pay 10cpl for someone with several years of experience?  Would they also have a good benefit package?
In this day and age, any benefits are good to
work at home. I have great MQ bennies but no work, so what good are they????
reCan someone offer anything good to say about EDIX side
There is not an EDIX side. It is one company Spheris.
Are there any GOOD companies that offer IC status (and no weekends?) ??

I would really like to work a Monday through Friday job.  Plus, I prefer IC status.   Probably an impossible combo...

Thanks!

Great company with good rate offer
nice people in the management too.
That's a pretty good offer. Does the line rate go up for over 175 lph? sm
Will you have VR thrown in there also?
Yes it is worth it. I have plenty of work and the pay is competitive.
I have been here for a while and plan on staying. I think it would be worth talking to them.

Help! Looking for good benefits, especially medical.
Spent the past couple of weeks applying for a few job openings and got offers from each company. For a variety of reasons, I am still looking but without exception, I found the benefits package insulting. I'm not that picky. Just want medical insurance that I can actually afford to take advantage of...reasonable deductible, at least fair to good coverage and premiums that won't break the bank. Any ideas?
saying any benefits is good is devaluing yourself
on, it isn't their problem you are broke. Take personal responsibility for your life...that is what made this nation great. Life, liberty and happiness. Find yours. Get a second job, quit MQ but insist on being valued for what you do. If you don't, stop blaming someone else.
