That is truly depressing

I was just saying that to my husband yesterday, that I bring home the same money I did in the 1990, but feel like I work a lot harder.  The frustrating thing is there is not a thing we can do about it.  It would be great if MTs could refuse to work for such low pay, but everybody would have to do that, and that's not going to happen.  I don't think there is anybody out there doing this for the fun of it.  I am in my early 50s, have been doing this for 20+ years.  I don't know of any other profession that is still paying the same amount as it did 15+ years ago.  What is the alternative besides leaving this profession all together?

Very depressing
It's just that most of us left other companies because of these reasons, time clocks, strict schedules, low pay, having to request days off.....so loved working for MDI and having what I really consider flexibilty.  I don't think what Transcend is telling us about their flexibility is even close to what we have been doing for MDI...not the same.  If I wanted to work for a company with benefits I would have worked for one.  Now it is just going to be a pain.  Negative, yes, but been there done that!
I hear ya. This just keeps getting more and more depressing. So, now, where is the appreciation for
the loyal U.S. MTs.  No bonuses, no incentives (only if you work on the holidays plus the day before and after NOT WORTH IT), no acknowledgment, and most importantly, we get to fight for work.  I think these bigger companies need to figure how why the turnover is so high.  No one is valued anymore or shown any appreciation whatsoever.  Oh wait, I guess we are noticed on those days that they sent out the we need you to work more, we need everyone on that account. Yes, let me drop everything and rush to help YOU out because I'm such a valued employee. Bah Humbug!!!
Oh boy I will. It is nothing but depressing out there. I applied at our local hospital because I can
hardly stand another day of this disappointment. This business has gone down the tubes!!
Now that's depressing and disgusting at the same time. I hope you found something else.

Try to be less negative? There is only negative here. It is a depressing way to start the day but
