The only time I've seen this, it was a brand new account sm

The whole team had to go on QA and be released one by one. It was time-consuming but I guess the client had demanded it.

And you just started on DQS brand new account and make 260 lph. You are extremely amazing but to be
honest I dont believe you.
FOR LONG TIME MT: generic : Brand.....s/m
No, MTs are NOT supposed to KNOW if a med is generic or brand. HOW COULD WE? We are not doctors and no pharmacists.
How can we know, especially if it is the first time that we encounter this drug?

We have to LOOK it UP, what often takes a lot of time. But we do it. Because we HAVE to know if we have to Cap it or not cap it.
Do you know that Brand drugs are CAPPED, whereas generic are NOT CAPPED??? I suppose not, otherwise YOUR COMMENT WOULD HAVE BEEN QUITE DIFFERENT.

As what do you function: As an MTSO, MT or QA??

I hope that the time will come that MTSOs AND QAs will be made OBSOLETE, likewise this AAMT, now AHDI (or whatever), because they cause ONLY CHAOS and MONEY !

YOU OWE US AN APOLOGY!
Probably brand new. Lots of new graduates get out there and try to start businesses all the time. nm
s
I've been there quite a while, pay on time, growth spurt right now, so good time to get on board,
new accounts and lots of work, and before someone says it, I'm not management, just an employee.
Must be on a different account than I am - i've never run out of work with Amphion!
.
I've been on same account 4 years; lots of OT lately.
nm
I've got a pretty nasty ESL account with them and I don't get 10 cpl. Hmmmm....nm
x
I've asked repeatedly for a secondary account. nm

Marilyn - I think we're on the same account...I've been with KS for over a year (sm)
and was given this as a backup account...I can't make ANY lines on it at all...I've already given up for today.
Can you tell us what brand? SM
I have tried many and not found good ones, so I'm asking you. It's worth a try! I'd love to invest in some but have not found any real good ones. Years ago Radio Shack had some awesome ones but they did not seem to have them at this time, mostly just what you can get anywhere. Thanks
BRAND NEW?

I'm wondering why nobody responded to this post.  Is the company brand new?  Or, so bad that nobody wants to share?  Or, does the company forbid any posting here by its employees/ICs?

This is the first time I've seen a co SM
have to communicate with their own employees on someone else's FREE message board.  Big turnoff.
eMachines is just the brand of computer
It doesn't determine whether your computer would be compatible with a platform or not. Your operating system, word processing software, and browser are the key factors for compatibility with a platform, I believe.
brand versus generic.....
but that's why we have reference materials!! When I started doing the job, I was lucky to FIND the medications!!! (I just started off the street...) Actually, the person that said that was correct, we don't necessarily always KNOW if drugs are generic or brand name, but it is our job to find out and spell/capitalize it correctly. Yes, it's time-consuming but hopefully once you have looked it up a few times, you'll learn it or at least be able to put it in your auto keys!! Well said MyMT!!
Not brand-new info, but recent. (sm)
I think the rate I had there was 8 or 8.5 cents a line, as an IC, which isn't great. The problems I had with them were that they did not use direct deposit for IC's and the checks ALWAYS took at least 15 days to come. They said it was a slow post office. I took the envelope to the post office and they looked at the postmark and said it had only just been mailed 3 days earlier, which means they mailed it 12 days late but would not admit it, nor would they let me have direct deposit or overnight (even though I offered to pay for the overnight service). That was annoying as heck, as it happened every single pay period. The other issue was that they required me to work Sundays, and yet I ran out of work EVERY SINGLE SUNDAY. I was supposed to hit 1100 lines every Sunday and it never ever happened even when I started at 4 a.m. Oh, and when I moved to where there was only satellite internet available, they told me they were compatible with satellite, and they weren't, so I had to find another job fast and they couldn't ever figure out why it wasn't compatible, as their tech was actually just an MT who had taken a computer course. Oy. I liked the work, the supervisors, etc., but it wasn't great. I left almost a year ago and never looked back.
I'm the OP..again, I've always been paid on time
I'm wondering about these several accounts going with speech recognition (many accounts that I have worked on), and what that will mean for us in the long-term.
I've been with them a short time.....sm
and am very happy. Nice folks, good accounts and good pay.
Then they've wasted their time
There are a lot of things that could be going on, both innocent, stupid, and sneaky. They could be mining resumes to pad their employee list and make it appear as if they do have US employees. They could be stupid enough to waste time posting on a US board for a position in Pakistan. Or they could have innocently somehow missed putting in a location for a US transcriptionist.

Ignore it or wait and see if they clarify the position in the future.
You have to account for all your time.
You cannot have gaps of time on your resume. If you worked more than 1 job during that time, you could have 1 job on there and leave 1 off.
Probably a brand new company. Never mentioned here or "elsewhere" before now. nm
s
An emachine is just a computer brand. I have one, no problems.
nm
Definitely harder and I've given it a lot of time. I'm thinking about
nm
I've worked for MDI-MD very part time for many yrs
No, I've never gotten a Christmas bonus.  But they still are hands down the best company I have ever worked for and their gift to me is being a company that pays well every day.  I'd rather have that than a company that pays me 8 cpl and sends me a $50 Christmas gift.  The only reason I work for them very part time is that I have my own accounts in addition to working for MDI.  Someday when I'm older and more tired, I will give up my own accounts and work for MDI alone.
I've even run different platforms at the same time with no problems.
You shouldn't have any problems at all!
Once you've peeved QA, is it time to quit?
I started a new job and, as something of a side note, it turned out to be a bait and switch where after the first week, they don't actually have the work I was hired for, and instead put me on a different secondary account. QA, being QA, was having their little version of fun and I was getting contradictory corrections on various reports, which I just let slide, let them play..put in their semicolons, split their infinitives, have unmatched noun/verb number. However, I got a couple back where they changed what I typed in a big way that actually made it a critical medical difference, and those I took to the supervisor (pt came was given dopamine and pressor support in the ICU to maintain BP because of her HYPOtension, but QA changed it to HYPERtension several places in the ICU course....duh!).

Anyway, since then, there's something of a vendetta against me in QA. I dropped the word on (the patient was put the operating table) and they tagged it a critical error and docked it 2 percentage points. If I take a sentence 4 lines long and split it up, they dock me. If I number a list (meds, dxs, etc) without the dictator specifically saying it, I'm docked. If I don't number the list, I'm docked. If I put the diagnoses in a list, I'm docked. If I leave the diagnoses in a paragraph, I'm docked.

I've asked the QA supervisor for specific guidelines as to how they assign error scores (sorry, my dropping 'on', while a mistake, I don't think falls into the critical error as it does not change the medical integrity of the report). I still have not heard back from the QA supe as to how they qualify the errors.

Since I'm pretty sure that this place, like any other place, is going to circle the wagons when a new interloper dares question their methods, is it time to throw in the towel? The work is okay...it's not the easy breezy stuff that I signed up for, but it's not really hard. Would you just say scrooge this, I can be abused anywhere or would you stick around just to avoid the job-hopping?

PS: This is a second job....almost amusingly, I'm part of QA at my other one.
I've no experience of a time clock either.
I think perhaps they mean the requirement to be assigned a set shift and stick to it.

But there's nothing remotely resembling a time clock... we just sign onto our platform and dive right in.

As an ex-TRS employee I still have the instant messenger, and I do sign into that when I'm working, but it's not a requirement; it's more of a courtesy to our co-workers, so we know who's around, especially if we need to ask a question.

My first day on the job at TRS I instant-messaged my supervisor and said do I have to sign in or let somebody know I'm here, and she said no, just log onto the platform and start working.

Of course, if they really want to track our logged-in time, the platform can keep track of all that.

But again... no, there's no time clock per se, nothing even close.
It is not time consuming, at least on the account I was on. sm
Was there for 2 years.  The info in header is filled in by what the doctor gives, there are no lists to look up, etc.  It was a very efficient system.  You receive the files through DVI, and type in Word or WPI.  Everything was batched, most of the ADT pulled in from the DVI.  You just pulled up a Word document, pulled in each header, filled in a few placed and typed.  Not a problem.  Of course, I can't speak for every account.  The QA is very strict.  They expect you to follow the account specs very closely.  I found it to be a great place to work, although not easy.  People were wonderful to work with.  They dumped the work on me at a given time (my choice) and I had 6-8 hours to return it.  It worked out very well.
I don't know if it is the same on every account for full time.
Mine is 11K lines per payperiod then incentive scale and I get differential for shift and weekends. And yes, they have lost of different insurance plans to choose from, another reason why I picked them. They were the most like a hospital job I could find working for MTSO, since I could find no in-house jobs these days! I am sure you would be happy, good luck!
A lot of companies are brand new start-ups, so we won't know anything about them. New places open
s
They may be brand new. Ask them how long in business if you make contact. nm
s
I'm surprised he is still around. I've heard he's had a rough time
could just be rumors. I heard someone was trying to buy/force him out.
i've worked for MQ for a long time and never got a raise
nm
Um, I specifcally said I've been there long time so wasn't sure about sm
the starting PTO; wasn't trying to pretty anything up. As for BCBS and dental - personally where I live, it is a great plan. I'll stick to my guns on that. As for the lower deductible last year, did you not join the BCBS health calls to discuss WHY that happened?
Is it proprietary software you guys are using or a "name brand," like ChartScript, etc.? nm
s
Pay always on time, platform is easy, they've always been nice to me, do have several accounts to
avoid running out of work.  I do MT and QA.
Yes but the amount depends on the account, length of time, etc.
I have been happy for two years!
Well I work on an account that probably about 4 part time transcriptionists on it ...sm
There is hardly ever enough work. Never get a full day because the account is overstaffed. There are 2 doctors on this account also. It might not be as bad with you because you only have you and 2 part timers. But on this account there is a handful of MTs. Ridiculous!
Nope...MDI-MD for a long time as well and I have a schedule I have to follow! You've got it made

They've all said Woburn, Mass when I asked...same time zone as me grrrr! nm

Any companies needing part time help on a Lanier account?
nm
I just started with Keystrokes full time and am on a Meditech account. sm

I would not call it my favorite platform by any means -- I think it is rather slow and cumbersome -- but with the addition of ShortHand and getting used to how things are done, I am picking up speed and hope to be at my normal level soon.   One of the pluses to Meditech is that you can access the patient's chart and see other reports dictated, plus lab reports, x-rays, etc.

I've been very happy at DSG -- pay always on time, decent incentive package, sound quality probab

depends on account, mine has been fine most of the time.

I've been there for years, work on the DSG1 side of things, pay on time, direct deposit, more
feedback lately.  I have always found the staff and MTs helpful and friendly.  Work does fluctuate, but if you have a few accounts, should keep you busy, also sound quality can be an issue but mostly okay.
Part of your issue may be that your account manager is in India and there is a time zone difference.
It seems like it is just the opposite of us. Day here, night there etc..All I can say ... Good luck!!!
QT gets my vote! I love it! Gross line pay, on time, 1 account, steady work! Great place!!!! nm
x
Great company. I've been recommending this company for a long time.
x
Personally, DSG is a good fit for me. Pay is good and on time, sound quality depends on the account
and I like the platform. There is not much weekend work, although sometimes is available.  I get along well with the management, no major complaints.  There is pay incentive once you get over a certain number of lines in a pay period.  I work as an IC, so can't help with benefits, insurance questions, etc.
That account in Texas was not a MQ account. They did not use DQS on that account until KS started.
They are moving 3 other accounts to DQS between now and January 1st. I asked. The MQ accounts they have gotten in the past did not go to DQS. I followed my old account, which is how I know, and it was Meditech. The account is still run by KS and is a big account too.
What good does it do? They've lied, they've betrayed us.

They've taken all they are going to take from me.   I am not going to waste any more time being angry.   I hate the way things ended, but I refuse to accept the blame for any part of it because I know that was a lie too, even though they did try to blame the MTs.  I know part of the problem was quality issues, but QA wasn't to blame for that either, although they have been.

It is time to pick up and move on.   I think mgmt will reap what they sow.   For those who worked on the main account Webmedx is still hiring, though the best time slots have already been taken.

What the heck? I've never heard that in the 8 yrs I've worked here. sm
Go back to your STM or over his or her head.
Repeatedly told another new account would come soon, but it never did. In fact, our slow account is.
everyone else's backup account. What a disorganized mess.
