Mind letting the rest of us in on the conversation and let us know
at least the initals of the company? It is just maddening to be outside of a conversation. LOL.
Never mind, I found her in my old list
.
No silence here... sm
My supervisor has made herself more than available for the last three days. The only thing she asked was not to be called on her home line, which I can certainly understand. She's answered my emails promptly and I appreciate that because she was probably caught just as off-guard as everyone else was by the changes.

Did you check in on the site today? Below the daily BL report, there is a lengthy and (I thought) reassuring post. It's SATURDAY for pete's sake!

Re: No silence here
If you read the BL report again it says nothing will change (benefits, keystrokes, etc. - there was a post here somewhere about keystroke computation decreasing after a buyout)- in the 'near future' -kind of sounds like 'for now' from the meeting. I was hurt by the clandestine, cloak and dagger, don't ask questions nature of the meeting notification, which caused a sleepless night, followed by the bombshell meeting, which has caused more sleepless nights. All I wanted was a decent place to work and to stay there. I guess I will dust off the old resume, tighten the budget to cut expenses as much as possible, try to research some options (any suggestions?), and hopefully time things so there isn't a break in pay. If I were you I would listen to the MTs here who have been through this kind of thing before, unless the hybrid company really is ground breaking and the shape of things to come. Maybe you could also study the banking industry. Same type of deal there with lots of mergers and people being cut loose.
The silence is really bothering me, as well...
very different from the company I joined last year.
LOL! Is IS a very strange company run by very strange people. I have had that
very thought before and it made me laugh to see you refer to it as strange, too. Thank goodness it's not just me!

Good luck Candy!
Transcend--don't suffer in silence with no work!
I am a Transcend employee, just another MLS at the bottom of the heap. I'm not a supervisor, I'm not a QA person, I'm not a team leader, I have no special superpowers, and I have no authority to do anything. But I spoke with a regional manager this morning, and I learned some interesting things, and I was encouraged to share them.

First of all, if you are on an account that consistently runs out of work, TALK TO YOUR SUPERVISOR. You might need to be reassigned. They have accounts that are going out of TAT all the time and when that happens, they have to pay penalties. There is plenty of work to go around, so no one should be running out of work. Again, if you are, TALK TO YOUR SUPERVISOR.

Second, the majority of the clients, I was told, do NOT allow their work to go offshore. So the only work that is being stolen by India is work that the clients are allowing to go there.

Most of the work that does go offshore goes (a) because the client has not prohibited it, (b) when it's night shift in the US it's day shift over in India, and (c) it's an account that has a 2-hour required turnaround time, and there might not be enough MLSs in the US to cover the account on that shift and meet the TAT requirement of the particular client.

I was also told that they will ALWAYS give the work to a US MLS by preference, rather than sending it overseas. If you are on a shift and an account where you don't get enough work, TALK TO YOUR SUPERVISOR.

There have been problems in the past with managers and supervisors who have not done the best job of allocating the work for their teams. The new COO (you should know who that is if you read your e-mail) has said she has an open-door policy; you can call her directly if you can't get anywhere with your supervisor. I have also been told that I may give out the phone number of the regional manager I talked to, but I'm not going to post it publicly. If you get nowhere talking to your supervisor, and you really do want some help, reply to this message by e-mail, and I'll give you the regional manager's number. But do try to resolve things first with your supervisor.

I realize that some of you reading this will not believe what I'm telling you. That's your option. It's still a free country and the thought police have not taken over quite yet. And some people would rather grumble than do anything to try to fix their situation. But if you truly, sincerely want to work, and you need more work than you're getting, do something about it.
*Strange*; nothign strange about it.

How do you know list is true? I can make a list,
x
I suppose

they would have told me by now if they were unhappy with my production or my hours.

suppose i should
would like information regarding employment w/ this company. not interested in gossip... would like information that would help me decide whether this company would be worth considering an offer from.
IF VR is suppose to be
better quality, faster, then the facilities and transcription companies are already ahead in the game because their MTs will be able to do more, so why decrease their pay at all since they will be getting twice the amount of work and better quality.  Is that what VR is all about?  Did MTs pay decrease when they moved from standard typerwriters to electric typerwriters from electronic typerwriters to computers?  Since when does better technology mean decreased pay? Is this really better technology or continued lack of value for those who do the work?
she is right, she is not suppose to cut sm
you a check without your SS number. She has to have that to cut you a 1099.

If you make less than 600 you don't have to claim it anyway.

If it were me, she would not get a computer back until I got my check!

Curiosity, why did you NOT sign any paperwork? Why would you agree to that?
I'm sure I'm suppose to be an example
probably thinking that I'm a retiree I can't afford to defend myself.  LOL  Fortunately I have a good attorney.  He's also a personal friend. LOL
I suppose 4000/mo is too low for you?
What world do you live in?
Fired you too, I suppose?
Believe everything you read, huh chickenneck? We got you again, and proved our point again. She starts this week, and a nice healthy rate as well. Jealous, I know...stop wasting your valuable work time spread rumors and gossiping and you too may be one of the lucky ones! HAHAHA!
No, you are a recruiter. I suppose that does
zz
and I suppose they are HIPPA
compliant? Cannot wait for EMR.
Are there a lot of people leaving MQ right now. Seems like that is all I see and I suppose many more
where they came from that dont come on here.
ok lets suppose you make
9 cpl - and I'll average that on 1200 lines a day, that amounts ot 13.50/hr. Thats not worth sitting in your chair for 8 hours now is it? 10 cpl - 15/hr. and I seriously doubt you make more than that. Thats a lot of busting butt for such a low wage. On a good platform with fair counting system an experienced MT should be able to type 2000 lines per day, thats with breaks, and going along at an even pace.
Suppose nobody will see this now since it's off main page. NM
x
If they point, I suppose she's young.
x
actually not MDI, but I suppose there are insensitive managers everywhere! nm

I suppose it depends on what accounts you are on
All of my accounts have been over loaded with work this past month. I'm currently doing 2500 lines a day. Maybe your friend should ask about getting more backup accounts added to her queue.
I suppose it is too much to ask. Sorry for trying to get impartial answers.
.
AND I SUPPOSE YOU GOT PAID ON TIME LAST PAY PERIOD? NM
X
Don't you suppose they realize that - have you asked for a backup? (sm)

I feel like I have sung this song before.

I suppose it depends on which accounts have openings. nm

Suppose it just adds to the hominess. One big happy

I suppose if CEOs had their way, we would be eating worms
and be thanking them for paying us the few pennies to afford our tasty worms, lest they give us another cut in pay while increasing their profits...
So what is the suggestion if all nationals are going to VR for these reduced rates. I suppose a lot
of people will just stop coming into this profession as I expect they already have and others will train for other jobs. No sure what the future holds thats for sure. Seems like no money so that will move a lot of people out of this. Who needs all the aggravation that we are given for no money.
Do you happen to know which companies HUP outsources to other than MQ. I suppose the best thing
would be to call HR but will they give out this information. Not sure who to call at these hospitals.
Seems a pretty selfish attitude ... I suppose you also choose sm
the work types you want to do and leave the cra* for everyone else.  If you don't want weekend work, type for a clinic.  Otherwise, you should pull your share of the load with the rest of us.
that is true about the bonus money, all works out in the end, I suppose. nm

Depends upon how your company counts things, I suppose. sm

I like both platforms.  Bayscribe is easy to use, and the Expander emulates PRD+, which I was used to.  The spellchecker is kind of clumsy -- that could definitely use some tweaking.  The thing I liked the most about Bayscribe was at the end of each report, you saw the line count for that report and how much you made, plus a total of lines for all reports and the total number of lines you had made for the day.

I am currently using ExText, and it is also easy to use.  I have to go to ichart to view my line count, though, and you cannot get it on a report-to-report basis.   The CTRL+I feature is useless to me since my employer does not count headers or footers.  I quit using it because I hated to see what a big difference there was at the end of the day.  I could do 300 lines per hour on Bayscribe.  With the current setup, maybe 250.  I can do 300 if I just sit and type as fast as I can with no breaks, but that cannot last for 8 hours solid.

Either platform is okay.  I still kinda miss WP51 -- think DOS-based programs were faster -- but you can't hold on to a dinosaur.  And, obviously that is just my opinion.  Hope it helps.

No argument about AHDI sucking an egg, but I suppose it is just personal sm

preference.  When I started transcribing 35 years ago or so, I had never heard of AAMT or anything like it, but the people in the Medical Records Department (which of course his now referred to as HIM -- why keep things the same if you can change them constantly for no rason) who transcribed the reports were called transcriptionists.  The machine I used to access the dictation was called a transcriber.

Of course, it is no big deal and I shouldn't get so hung up with labels.  I worked briefly for an Indian company (felt like I was sleeping with the enemy but that's another story), and they called us transcribers … ugh.

I suppose it probably varies with each account. My primary has been slow sm

since the holiday, but I am able to get my lines.  I'm hoping it picks up soon.

Hope this helps.

Aren't you a positive person? I suppose you work in the office at HIS. lol nm
x
I emailed also, but haven't heard back yet. I suppose it will take a while to go through everyth

great line rate? I suppose that rules out the beast
haha
I suppose you have to write down the line count for every single document and it doesnt track them
for a total for the while day. That is what I was wondering.
No, some of the rest of us can do that too.
But if she types 2,400 in 8 hours, to be full time she will have to type 26,400 in an average pay period and I think that is requiring to much as a minimum just because she is fast. And expecting her to slow down just to spread it into 40 hours a week is silly.
They are just like all the rest: Pay so so,
tech support okay, accounts okay, people okay, not great and can be rude. Do not dare get cancer is all I can say.
Do you know something the rest of
If you do, please share it.  Otherwise, please, we have enough to worry about.  Why should I get out now.  Nothing has changed.  If it does change, then I will act accordingly, but acting in a blind panic right now is wasted energy. If and when it does change, then I will find another company or get my own accounts.  Otherwise, I am not going to freak out.
DSG is just like the rest of them

They only answer what they feel like answering.

Here we go. Let it rest, will ya? Please?
With sugar on top! Everything you said was valid and great. But please just let this thread chill out.
Well, I don't know about the rest of you, but.sm
she was very good to me and for that I am thankful.
And who exactly is the rest?
Are you referring to the rest of us who refuse to work for unethical companies who ignore the labor laws?
Why don't you tell the rest of us who have no work
which account you are working on so I'll know which account to request to be moved to. I am constantly without work and nobody seems to give a crap. Everytime I tell my lead I'm having a problem, either with the system locking up or no work, she lies and says she has the same problem so I'll shut up about it. This is really aggravating.
Well you should share with the rest of us then.
his employer and we pay over $600 a month out of his check for it and his employer pays part of it too.  When I worked in a hospital I had great insurance for a little of nothing.  I have kept in touch with my friends from the hospital who still work there and they tell me that is no longer the case.  They pay a lot now for insurance that is not very good.
Oh give it a rest -
I posted just for KICKS for the record, because I sort of EXPECTED the (mostly) ridiculous posts received so far...

Just for kicks, I wanted to see if the COMPLAINERS on the board all the time would step up - or if they just wanted to continue to whine.
