I wonder why people like CindyMT (below) are in this business.  I became disgusted with this thread within 2 reads.  Things are horrible at MQ and many other MTSOs right now so tempers are short, I understand that, but what is needed are some POSITIVE minds working to find a way to improve things, even if it means leaving one company for another to get some peace.  If you are getting thrown under the bus by one, maybe it is time to leave.  MQ has totally thrown their QA under the bus and their MTs before that, which is why I am reading company threads, and this thread definitely gives TT a bad rap if what some say is true and it's not a bad place to work.  Good luck to all in this business...where the smart and strong shall survive and the weak and angry will perish.

ARE TRULY NASTY.......nothing short of a JERRY SPRING remake here....i simply said that SoftScript was wonderful and so far, i've been told i'm a joke, insulted, called names, etc.......now lets see if anyone has anything nice to say......as if that were possible on this board.............

Didn't the post say I need more than 1,200 a day!!??

It does not say that is all I could type in a day, now does it?  It says that is the minimum required by companies.  However, on so many days you have to fight to get that much, and it may take you 10 or more hours to do it.  No, not because I type that slow but because the work is not there!!  Geeze.

I would think that only one recruiter/owner would need to post for a transcriptionist, not four.  The one was titled Police Reports, but then on the inside it was medical transcription clinic work.  I'm not so sure about that one.

TT MANAGEMENT DOES NOT GET PAID HOLIDAYS. They are SALARIED. That means NO EXTRA for overtime, NO COMP DAYS either. They work when they are told. I can't be told to work on my days off, but management CAN and they frequently DO work on their so-called time off. Given that I make more than many people in management at TT, I will not begrudge them taking off Christmas or New Year's or whatever pittance they get in the way of a holiday off. I know 3 people in management who worked yesterday, from home on their *paid holiday* so that those of us who were working had a go-to person. They have management around between 6 a.m. and midnight 7 days a week, 356-1/4 days a year, and tech support too. If this **** you off so much, GO FIND A JOB WITH A SALARY and get a grip! I have had a salaried job and guess what? Worked more hours in a year for less pay than I get on production. You just aren't bright enough to see the writing on the wall. How is it you MT when you can't read?

I hope you didn't take it that way. Just wanted to throw out a couple of suggestions if you still had the time to get back with the company and negotiate. Actually happy to hear someone has an MT job that they enjoy! :-)

... because I thought you were someone asking what it's like to do radiology work at Transcend, and I don't.

But I'm glad I did click to read it, and I'm glad some more of the folks who are happy working at Transcend--and are still working the same accounts with virtually no changes (except good ones) YEARS after their own merger--are coming on board to tell their stories. My own merger (from TRS) was only 5 months ago, and just about all I hear is 'just wait, they'll give your good account to somebody else, they'll move you to something lousy with no work available, they'll make you do speech-wreck, whether you want to or not, and you'll soon be singing a different tune,' that sort of thing.

But beware... you say anything good about Transcend on this board, and you'll soon be labeled a 'suit.'

I am not a suit. I am a pajama. And hey... I could only WISH they'd pay me for all this free positive PR I'm doing..... :)

Wow, I didn't know the owner would get on here under different names and post
I guess that explains it all.  My experience wasn't the best and I know I'm not alone.  No wander there are lots of positives, had no idea the owner did that.

I believe what she meant was similar to what I wrote which was that I felt a majority of the nasty posts probably came from isolated people that take crap all day. These types normally get walked on because they aren't outspoken enough in real life to say what they feel. Then they anonymously come here (or other boards)to take out their pinned up frustrations. It's merely an opinion and you know what they say about those.:)

The reason I believe this to be true is because I've encountered way more nasty people on-line than in real life. If some of the posters said the same nasty remarks to a person's face that they do hiding behind a screen name, #1) They'd get fired. #2) They'd have NO friends.
#3) They'd lose a few teeth.

Think about it.

No, some of the rest of us can do that too.
But if she types 2,400 in 8 hours, to be full time she will have to type 26,400 in an average pay period and I think that is requiring to much as a minimum just because she is fast. And expecting her to slow down just to spread it into 40 hours a week is silly.
They are just like all the rest: Pay so so,
tech support okay, accounts okay, people okay, not great and can be rude. Do not dare get cancer is all I can say.

If you do, please share it.  Otherwise, please, we have enough to worry about.  Why should I get out now.  Nothing has changed.  If it does change, then I will act accordingly, but acting in a blind panic right now is wasted energy. If and when it does change, then I will find another company or get my own accounts.  Otherwise, I am not going to freak out.

which account you are working on so I'll know which account to request to be moved to. I am constantly without work and nobody seems to give a crap. Everytime I tell my lead I'm having a problem, either with the system locking up or no work, she lies and says she has the same problem so I'll shut up about it. This is really aggravating.

his employer and we pay over $600 a month out of his check for it and his employer pays part of it too.  When I worked in a hospital I had great insurance for a little of nothing.  I have kept in touch with my friends from the hospital who still work there and they tell me that is no longer the case.  They pay a lot now for insurance that is not very good.

I posted just for KICKS for the record, because I sort of EXPECTED the (mostly) ridiculous posts received so far...

Just for kicks, I wanted to see if the COMPLAINERS on the board all the time would step up - or if they just wanted to continue to whine.

I do have an MT who has a tenuous grasp on plain English grammar and punctuation. If I see 2-days time rather than 2 days' time one MORE TIME I think I will scream! I have sent loads of feedback and on about every thing else, she has seemed to listen, but this one thing...

Then you have the really good MTs whose work is outstanding, but they are the kind who won't show up every day.

I am still MTing quite a bit and have a reputation as being very fast and very accurate, but I doubt myself on both those things. I don't read my work all the time and I still have raves on audits. I attribute that to skill and to the fact that I CARE about my work. Why are there so few of us?

QA has taught me many things about the level of my skills and for that, I grateful. I wish I could be a better teacher as a QA person and help others get to where I am.

I was hired for Radiology, but by the time they fixed the bugs in the platform (about a week) the client decided to do their own VR. Guess what? I got transferred to work I had less experience with and left to the mercy of merciless QAs...

Gradually the patience and extra effort I made to make this relationship work waned as did the we really appreciate your patience and effort rah rah's from management.

YOU may love your job and have no problems, but please don't lecture those of us who had a much different experience despite OUR best efforts.
Oh...okay..then...with your case at rest...

we won't have to read any more of such ridiculous babble.

why not enjoy the day off? You are constantly complaining about TT so please leave already! I for one always look forward to a little extra time off when work is slow..no big deal if you are prepared for it. Work always tends to be slow at this time of the year anyway. Enough with acting like a child...obviously this company isn't for you. Call **** and let her know how you feel, stop coming here.
