The way I see it

The best way to make a living is going to be for everyone to look for talents they have and turn them into a profitable 1-person business.  That way you keep your flexibility, write your own paycheck and if customers or clients don't treat you the way you would like to be treated, then kick 'em to the curb.

I also see a lot of bartering of services in the future.

Education is a fine thing but the problem in these troubled times is what kind of education do you get?  There are people with master's degrees flipping burgers.

I know people who are cleaning other people's houses and making $20-$25/hour.  Not my cup of tea because I don't even like cleaning my own house.  I know someone else who is making a great living with clients who require celiac diets.  Just put your thinking caps on...if you're smart enough to do MT, you're smart enough to figure out how to make a living outside of MT.
