TransTech gets work from Dictaphone/Nuance; not the piece of equipment, but the co.

TT uses Dictaphone's WordClient and ExSpeech platforms.

Dictaphone (the company) contracts with MTSO's to use their equipment and they (Dictaphone/Nuance) *divide* out the work each MTSO gets.  That is one of the reasons for OUR VERY LOW WORKLOAD anymore !!!!  We would be better off if we worked for a company who is not Dictaphone/Nuance-dependent for work.

The very few accounts Transtech has -- mostly  overflow accounts -- are Dictaphone/Nuance accounts.  We TransTech MT's wait for Dictaphone/Nuance to throw a few jobs our way, which is NOT happening.  All of TransTech MT's are making LESS than ever day-by-day, paycheck-by-paycheck.  Heads up ! ! ! ! ! ! !

MOST of TransTech's accounts are obtained through Dictaphone/Nuance -- not by any TT mgmt people

out seeking work for all the MT's that they have recently hired on.  That is not a good thing when Dictaphone has control of how much work TT gets, when we can have some work from them, etc.  They have other MTSO's who want work for their MT's, too, so Dictaphone/Nuance has to share with all MTSO's who have contracted with them to use their equipment; thus, doling out jobs as Dictaphone/Nuance sees fit for their good.

Nuance is the parent company of Dictaphone. Dictaphone makes ExText.
s
Nuance/Dictaphone
They partner with MTSOs who use their product. When a client signs on with Nuance, they are then matched up with an MTSO that uses Nuance's product.
Did Nuance by Dictaphone?
Can someone give me the website?  TIA
I really wish Dictaphone-Nuance
We are out of work. Dictaphone keeps the work and sells it to India for a penny a line. They have a good wage over there and we are going hungry here and can't pay the bills. The alternative is for our MTSO's to stop relying so much on Dictaphone and finding another system. Beating a dead horse I know.
What is the Nuance/Dictaphone/Ex-Text

Does Nuance own Dictaphone?   Is Ex-Text solely a Dictaphone platform?   Is Nuance also an MTSO--do they hire MT's directly?

Nuance owns escription and Dictaphone
Are your referring to Dictaphone Extext? Which Nuance system?
Focus/Nuance - Dictaphone-offshore
Focus is the offshore subsidiary of now Nuance also known as Dictaphone - they have just formed an on-shore team thus all the new positions - temporary to be sure - they will take any account and then throw it offshore after a while
They are located near Boston, bought out by Nuance (Dictaphone)
currently serving US clients with US labor only as an option. Which is why there is now a US QA team, and perhaps all US transcribing team. Great people, benefits, and job openings. I was the OP who wrote a while back offered a high hourly rate for QA and did a lot of research on them. They are now part of Nuance (Dictaphone) umbrella and I believe a good place to work for. However, I decided against going there for personal reasons, decided to remain with my present employer, but would not hesitate to join this place after doing much research. Also the training BTW is done by US trainer (at least for QA), all information given through US phone calls, AIM and website, written info. So forget the rumors, call or write and ask because I too was unsure, but as stated did a lot of research regarding their status.
Is it true Dictaphone is now owned by Nuance (an Indian company)? (sm)

that explains why the downhill slide.

I heard Focus was bought out by Dictaphone (Nuance) less than a year ago. So I think it would be a s
move. Nuance's website looks sturdy, and I know dictaphone is doing well, so how can a company with that kind of backing give you any kind of worry? I'd take it. Good luck whatever you decide.
Focus bought by Nuance/Dictaphone, DRC bought by Acusis. nm

Transtech, right? Yes they charge for equipment. I have seen sm
there lph and benefit rates, and I feel I can post negatively about a company who pays very low line rates and has a really low incentive schedule.  I have seen it in writing.  Would not consider them.
TransTech equipment supplied?
Have searched archives but am unclear about whether TT furnishes/rents you the equipment or if you can use your own PC.  Thanks for any help.
Piece work
Lots of professions are paid by *production* meaning you get paid for what you produce and turn in.

The problem is MTs accepting LESS THAN what they are worth, not the way with which we are paid.
What a sorry piece of work you are and

I can't imagine a piece of work like you
your company is doomed.
Transtech uses Dictaphone
.
I work on Winscribe for Spheris. Its a piece of cake. sm
It shouldn't take no more than 5 minutes to learn.
You are a piece of work. Real pro. Any company would be proud
to have you.
OhBrother sounds like a real piece of work, huh?
Oy vey...........
So problem is with the MT, not the company? You are a real piece of work.

Dictaphone is paying her, not TransTech
She's on a new account that is starting two weeks later than planned; it's Dictaphone's fault. Transtech is NOT paying her. Dictaphone itself is paying her. TransTech is VERY fair.
TransTech uses Dictaphone Extext

Dictaphone controls Transtech workload, for the most part.

If you search, you will find plenty of recent info on Transtech.

Any TransTech unable to get into Dictaphone WordClient early this a.m.?????

Unable to work due to system being down.  IDC3 down.

There seems to be one problem after another of recent -- either no work, low work or systems problems.

The above post is the most inconsiderate, cold-hearted, not to mention ignorant piece of work I'
Do you even have a clue as to how much one cycle of IVF costs? Try 15K to 20K and it takes on average three cycles to achieve conception...if at all. How many people do you know wait until they have $20,000.00 saved before starting a family? Get real.

Not that it's any of your business, having a child was not a mental issue for me. I initially didn't feel that it would be necessary to share the details of what led up to our infertility because I didn't see the relevance. Infertility is what it is. However, if sharing the details will prevent you or anyone else from drawing conclusions and posting abrasive half-truths, then here goes:

My husband, against my wishes, had a vasectomy when our only daughter was 3. Coming from a big family, I always wanted at least two children. Long story short: We went to Texas for the first reversal and Arizona for the 2nd (5 years ago). We spent our entire savings, which was close to 20k and both surgeries failed. My daughter prayed for a baby brother or sister every night. I had this tremendous burden of guilt because our infertility was self-inflicted. I knew she would never be a big sister or even an aunt because of our selfishness.

Infertility in and of itself is traumatic enough, but when it's self-inflicted, the guilt can be overwhelming. At least it was for me.

There, now you have the facts. However, if you find it more entertaining to post over-the-top fabrications about my complete lack of control and severe mental issues, as you called it, knock yourself out.

I have been pretty honest about my personal life and would appreciate it if you could just answer 2 simple questions.

(1) Dou have any children?

(2) In your opinion, do you feel that insurance companies should cover the cost of elective abortions?

You can just answer yes or no. I'm not posting anymore on this thread so you won't get any arguments from me.
TransTech and Keystrokes also offer some Dictaphone ExText accts. Very easy to

I can only work with my own equipment,
computer, foot pedal, ear phones, etc....exactly out of these reasons.
Well, it wouldn't work for me - (wrong equipment).
to make hanging look like an accident (for an adult, anyway). Making it appear that it was part of a partial-asphyxiation sex act seems like the only way to do it. Unless, of course, he was messing around with some other person who fled the scene once things went wrong.

You're right, though... very sad.
did you have to purchase equipment for this service to work or do they supply - nm
x
Escription has been out of work. Dictaphone has lots of work.

What is their policy with regard to weekend work, and do they supply equipment?
Thanks.
Time available, equipment, work types, maybe a pop spelling quiz,

I currently work for them on the dictaphone...
side and REALLY enjoy it. The benefits are good and the platform has been easy to work with. They also have holiday pay, vacation pay after 1 year, sick leave, and other benefits for fulltime workers. I am not sure what the starting pay range is, but they are an AWESOME company to work for. HTH!
Does Dictaphone obtain the accounts for the companies who use Dictaphone EXText?
I was just wondering if this is the same as it used to be.  Dictaphone installs the equipment in facilities and then gets a MTSO to take the account.  Therefore, the MT company never solicits for accounts, but Dictaphone notifes them when they have installed equipment in a hospital.
I work for them on the dictaphone side...
and LOVE it. They have good benefits, and my supervisors on my primary and secondary accounts are AWESOME! Also, the platform is really good and even works with my shorthand. It also has it's own Expander (ESP), which I hear is really great also. HTH
That is it as Dictaphone doles out the work
so it is basically up to Dictaphone how much work all the Dictaphone MTSO's get. Like when there are huge backlogs on new accounts that is Dictaphone's call as to who gets what. So apparently Dictaphone is sending the work to other MTSO's now but it probably won't last long because they know we have to eat and pay bills.
Dictaphone Software/VR work
I am finding that I have to work 12 hours when doing VR work to come close to getting 1000 lines. Is anybody else having a hard time getting lines when doing VR work on this platform? I work for Focus and am just curious if it is just me.
I work on Dictaphone Editor...sm
But you will NEVER be able to sit back and relax and let the words fly by. Where you got that notion is beyond me. you still have to work. You still have to be careful. You will still need to make corrections. If a software was that good, there would be no need for MTs. I think you need to change your idea of how VR works or you will be sorely disappointed. I am sorry you have the wrong idea about it, and give it a few more weeks. Training on VR for 2 or 3 weeks is not long enough. I have been working on it for a year (MT for 15), and my production speed is STILL improving. Good luck to you.
Dictaphone is a company offshoring our work.
x
I work on Dictaphone ExSpeech and make .04 per line.
x
They use Dictaphone EX Text platform. Very user friendly and easy to work on.
It is all strictly internet based. No extra phone lines required. They do reimburse your high speed internet up to I think $40 a month, too.
Well I don't work for Transtech and this discussion isn't about Transtech...
and that is not age discrimination....give me a break...
Yep, eyetype is quite a piece of

just one piece of advice...sm
typing speed is the least of your skills needed.  Medical language is that in itself...a whole other language! It takes time to learn the terms, medicines, etc. It's not just a field you can jump into! As for which course is the best, I don't know, I went to a local tech school to learn! Good luck!
It's a piece of cake :) sm
They'll even send you instructions on how to program one (good thing, cuz I lost my instructions ages ago & hadn't used mine in a long time...it was sitting in a box in the basement).  It IS connected to your phone line, though.  I have caller ID, so if a call comes in when I'm working I get the call waiting beep & when I get the chance I check my voice mail if needed.  Don't be nervous at all about using one...personally, I like my C-phone
Piece of cake - sm
With the machine off, hit *99. Chose a button NOT already programmed, and enter 7040 then your complete telephone number followed by enter. That's it.
perhaps they both could have a piece of this board like MQ. nm
.
Platform is a piece of cake. sm

The platform is easy to navigate/use.  Workload is good.  You're given a primary and probably eventually a secondary.  If you don't have work for some odd reason, ASK!  The supervisors are more than willing to help you out.

Good luck!   I know many happy employees there.

yes, and the ones i have area piece of crap..sm
i spend MOST of my time  resetting the receiver thingy...same goes for my cordless keyboard....uggg, that is frustrating.  I think I am going back to corded.
