Transcend is so incredibly disorganized.

They need to get their act together before they buy another company. Nobody knows what the other is doing, poor communication all around.

Have to agree with Not for Me ... their pay is incredibly low. sm

As long as people continue to accept jobs like that just because there is an abundance of work (probably an abundance because they can't get enough people to work for substandard wages), then companies like that will keep offering low pay.

Good companies will pay you what you're worth AND provide a steady work flow.  You might want to look around -- you're worth more, I'm sure!

Yes! Running incredibly slow! nm
ffffffoooooo
Free and incredibly boring! (nm)
xx
Their system is incredibly slow based on
where your ISP routes servers.  They have overhired big time and in the last 90 days had only 1 week where I actually got in all my hours, even working off days and different shifts.  Plus that clocking in and out is a pain and you work 10 hours just to get 8.  They dangle the incentives in front of you but with their lack of work and slow system you have to work like heck to get the 150 lph minimum.
If you think I'M a bully you're incredibly naive
There's nothing remotely bullying about my post. I stated my opinion. You post on here asking for opinions and I gave you one. It just wasn't the self-serving opinion you were seeking assuring you that you did the right thing.

Yes, perhaps you did the right thing for you by turning that job down; but if you're so happy where you're at, why are you wasting the time of MTSOs and perhaps pushing other MTs out of the running so they can spin their wheels with you? Also, about 98% of these posts on the job seekers board indicate when a weekend day will be required; you should have known going in when you applied apparently just out of curiosity that a weekend day would be required.

Sorry, but I'll leave you to your God and your family and your ability to pick and choose 'wonderful' job offers.

I'm just glad another MT will get a shot at this job who realizes people do indeed need reports transcribed on the weekend, and I certainly hope your God is on standby if a loved one ever needs a critical care transport and all reports transcribed and ready to go, because if the staff is a bunch of MTs refusing to work weekends, it could be a real inconvenience to have to wait until Monday for the official transcribed documents to be completed and faxed.

I'm done here...
I left, too. Incredibly picky account rules. No $$.

I always think that the topic of my e-mail must imply that I am incredibly stupid

They still seem to be disorganized from what I can tell, but
I didn't have any of the particulars as far as pay, etc.   Their test was a killer though.
Very disorganized...just me...nm

Still very disorganized. sm
IMHO, there are some pretty big problems especially in the communications department. They do pay on time and you probably would have enough work if you asked for more than one account. But I think they should have some hard internal come-to-Jesus meetings and get organized before they take on more accounts and more people.
very disorganized, no work, low pay
spare yourself the agony!
After one week of working for them, I notified them about my wish to terminate the contract (2 wks notification required). After completing the full 3 wks (luckily I found a good company to work for!), I sent them invoice for (whatever little available) work done amounting to $65 (hahaha! what a joke!!!) and still have not received any payment...
Don't waste your time and talent.
The point is that they are disorganized

and unprofessional....

that is the point, not that the recruiter was out to get her but that the recruiter is lazy and incompetent and too lazy to come up with a better excuse or a better way of presenting the position.

Very disorganized company. nm

I had the same experience, very disorganized - sm
I had to wait about 6 weeks for my first check, that alone made me nervous but I did get paid w/o issue every 2 weeks after the initial wait. I only used C-phone and word though no platform. Agree with the bad QA, nice enough people though very, very disorganized.
They seem to be terribly disorganized, trying to
change procedures, added new staff, adding lots of new accounts and I guess they are just overloaded.  I would definitely recommend a phone call.  Usually after that things get rolling.
This company is very, very disorganized.
They seem to be very nice people, but they really need to evaluate the way they do things and put a checks and balances system in place so that people don't fall through the cracks. I was in disbelief at the experience that I had with Keystrokes. I just moved on.

One should not have to keep reminding a company that they have hired you and that you need to get started. Unbelievable. I am not bashing...just sharing my opinion of this company.
Very disorganized. I worked for them for like a
They owner will IM you to death for 8 hours straight.  Yes, IM is a requirement.  Meditech was the platform, which is horrible.
They are ok. Kind of disorganized but

VERY disorganized company.
The supervisors are not MT's and it's hard to get any information.  I have a second interview Tuesday elsewhere and will be moving on.
Not only disorganized but I found
less than knowledgeable.  Based on her answers to my questions I concluded she had no experience as an MT which didn't sit well with me as I think she also doubled as the transcription supervisor also.  Based on my interview and then prior posts about this company regarding QA issues, platform and dictators I decided to keep looking as I didn't get a feeling there would be stability with this company.
They weren't rude with me, but a little disorganized and
not looking out for my best interests, but the interests of their client, which I guess is the way it should be since the client is paying for their services.  As far as I know there are 2 women that run this company, I have not talked with the owner and maybe she was the one rude, but the woman I dealt with was not rude, just a little dingy and maybe not 100% truthful about the company that she was recommending.  All TM did though was screen me and then I still had to go through the testing/interview process with the company.  I had had contact with the referred company previously and had even been offered a position with them, which I turned down.  The pay rate offered to me by TM and the pay rate offered to me by the company were the same.  I declined referral to the company, being that I had already declined an offer from them and I never heard from TM again.
I think they use different programs, very confusing and disorganized
nm
When I was there a year ago, they were VERY disorganized but still micromanaged and

MDI-FL, very disorganized. Agree with poster (sm)

They get nasty at MDI-FL and answers to questions ignored if they don't like the question being asked.  Paid time off is NEVER correct and good luck getting the time listed on the stub.  Work flow is hit and miss.  They order you off and then back on with VR accounts.  Pay and insurance benefits are better than most if you tolerate their demands and disrespect.

Do you find it a very disorganized company?

I am thinking they are disorganized and shorthanded with admin
That is the impression I get.... and they called and told me not to call back because they are constantly on the phone. okay so ? But ?
Shapin...unprofessional, disorganized, let go without any warnings at all.
I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy!
Drs. who are so disorganized you get a 15-minute report and wind up
Drives me NUTS!
I thought their training was AWFUL. Disorganized, sm...
and way late on feedback (it took me more than 24 hours to get feedback on my first training day)! I lasted about 30 minutes into the second day and said I'M DONE! The platform, IMO, is rather cumbersome, as well. No DD for 90 days, as I recall. All in all, I would suggest to look elsewhere, but this is JUST MY OPINION!
Very disorganized. Unqualified ppl in upper managment

Three words..Feast or Famine.., disorganized, and bad communication, anything else??
I wish I had more positives other than pay is on time. That is about the only positive at all.
Great bennies but extremely disorganized and out of work a lot. nm

Precyse. Disorganized, low work, broken promises.

Disorganized. If you aren't the favorite, then forget it. Never enough work
so you can work your schedule.  But if you don't get your line count, you are expected to do whatever it takes to make it.  Keep looking -- there are better companies out there. not to mention you'll get talked about behind your back

Busy does not mean disorganized. I would rather work for a busy company sm
than one with no work. I started with Keystrokes 3 months ago and it is the best thing I ever did. I have a steady paycheck and plenty of work.
Transcend bought MDI, so if Transcend sends work offshore, so does MDI. nm
nm
We heard Transcend is buying Keystrokes next. I'm not working for Transcend. No Way !

If MDI-FL is owned by Transcend and Transcend admittingly offshores, sm
then doesn't that make MDI a company that offshores? That's like saying that one branch of a company offshores but another does not, so they are excluded from the offshore label. If MDI-FL is part of Transcend and Transcend offshores, that means that they do.
RE: If MDI-FL is owned by Transcend and Transcend admittingly offshores, sm
Your hypothesis is incorrect. MDI is a wholly independent subsidary of Transcend, therefore, they were not a part of the experiment to offshore to evaluate cost/benefit ratio that Transcend only tried for 90 days (I believe the evaluation process is not still ongoing).
It is not Transcend. Transcend has not had control of
the accounts long enough to make any changes to anything. Maybe your account just slowed down like a lot of others did over the last few weeks. Everything will run status quo for a few months before any major changes are implemented. And give Transcend a chance. It is a good place to work and you will finally have some benefits that you will enjoy.
Transcend
I just got an email from an MT who loves Transcend. She told me she gets 15,000 lines per pay period as she gets a lot of VR (voice recognition)reports.

She gets around 8 cents a line for a report she has to transcribe "from scratch," but if she gets a VR report, she only gets 5.5 cents a line.

However, she says even with the 5.5/line, she makes 15,000 lines a pay period as the VR reports are very quick and easy to do. She did not mention anything overall about Transcend; just that she really likes her job and the lines she's able to get each day. I am looking for an MT job, but it's really hard as you have no idea what you will end up with even if you do get hired.

You might get terrible dictation, no VR reports, templates, etc. Or some of them require you to have your own equipment which I would prefer to use their equipment.

Does anyone know who is hiring?
Enough about Transcend.
I know, let's pick on another company for S&G's!
x-transcend
Webmedx and Amphion.
transcend
The forum at transcend is full of people angry and complaining bitterly about the new platform and the horrible sound quality. Someone said she had worked on an account for 10 years and now cannot understand the people she has always transcribed. And as for getting ahead, there are a select group of people who are taken care of at Transcend and newbies are part of that, they get raises because they get the easiest work picked out for them. You wont see them with foreign doctors or short reports or the same crappy work day after long day. If it is so wonderful why did a person that left another large company to be a supervisor only stay about 4 weeks and she is already gone??? Probably because once she was in her position, she had morals and could not believe the unfairness with which work is "doled out" and saved and while others never get a break. there is not one thing fair about assigning work and there never will be!!! This is a voice recognition company that has no regard for people as human beings.
transcend
how can anyone think that a company that is going to voice recognition and cutting pay in half, from 8 cents to 5.5 to edit, how can that be good for transcriptionists anywhere. this is all about them making a profit off of your back. For years transcriptionists have been underpaid, 6 cents, 7 cents, while owners of services make 25 cents or more a line and never share it. voice recognition just puts more in their pockets!!! It is just a new way to rip us off. Transcriptionists are the modern day factory workers, sweat shop laborers with no voice, no union, and we just keep taking it and they take our jobs away from us with voice recognition or cut our pay in half to have a job. If you call that fair, they you are in the right position. Nothing in our society goes backwards in price - except the pay of the transcriptionist!!!

I was just hired by them, starting training today. However, I'm only doing radiology-hope that is better. Anyone else out there with an opinion???
Transcend

Hi,

I hope you enjoy your training.  It is kinda rough the first day.  I don't know much about the radiology accounts at Transcend, but I do know that the people are very nice.  I had 2 weeks of a slow period, which was frustrating.  However, this happens at all companies from time to time.  Especially in the summer.  I know this because I have worked at other companies and have had the same slow time.  At Transcend, I never had to ask for another account, a secondary, one was offerred to me and I started right away on it.  I have a very good line count and make good money.

I may have to take on other accounts in the future, I don't know.  If I do, then I will.  Transcend is not the only company that this happens at.  It is all in how you look at it also.  The more you can do, the more valuable you are to your company.  This will only benefit you.  Of course it is not ideal, but sometimes unavoidable.  Yes, it does slow you down but this is just at first.  You eventually become accustomed to your secondary, or whatever number account that it is for you, just like you did on your primary when first starting at Transcend.  I have found in my experience that the less flexible I am, the more limited I am.  In this line of work, that is not good.

You will also hear about Transcend using VR.  I am getting ready to train on that.  I hear horror stories about the whole thing and I am sure that it is everything that everyone says it is.  But the thing is, a lot of companies are going to be using it.  Maybe not all of them, but a lot.  It is a step towards the future and we have to learn to accept that.  I am not worried about doing it.  If I have to work longer hours for a while to get used to it and get my $$ back where it was, then so be it.  I believe that this too will be something that an MT can get used to and become good at, just like having multiple accounts.

All I know is, at Transcend, I have always been paid on time, paid well, never had a check bounce, and I have not ever been lied to or mislead.  This is my experience and my opinion.  Good luck to you!

I was hired for Fri-Mon. Was told they have little coverage at that time. Not true???
MDI/Transcend
Wre they the same company or 2 different companies?  They are being lumped together a lot in posts.
