TRS is an awesome company! I have worked there for a year and a half and have absolutely no complaints. The employee has a lot of control over how much they earn, dependent on several factors. The line-counting system is fair and accurate, and I have never had trouble getting my lines in. I have never worked for a company that truly cares about its employees the way TRS does. They have been honest and up front about what the company is doing, why, and what the future holds. I can't imagine working anywhere else.

I believe this is incorrect. TRS does train and hire MTs in Trinidad and Guyana, and are launching another training program in Barbados and will hire some of those graduates, too. To me, this seems like off-shoring.

I have an interview with Transcript USA on Thursday. I will pass on what info I find out then. I am pretty sure that they do provide the computer though. Don't know anything else right now.

Usually clinic pays less, but IC status should pay
8-9 cpl with 3 years of experience is still a better line rate, since you wanted a reply. Sure, we'd all like to make 10-12 cpl, but that is just not realistic working for any online company. ICs should make more because they are not offered any benefits. Plain and simple. Yes, there are write-offs for ICs. I think the biggest thing with this company the OP is asking about is that they want you to commit to lines typed each day, well that's not an IC. When you have to commit to hours worked or lines worked, then that's employee status in my opinion. I would stay away from companies trying to say you're an IC, but requiring you type a certain amount. I have over 15 years of experience, and I have found only one company so far that really knows the true meaning of IC. I won't give away my secret though, but this company only pays 8 cpl, but it is well worth it since I do not need benefits, and they are truly flexible! Take what you want when you want it, but you'd better get there and look because if you snooze, you lose! There is no assigned work. You have access to accounts, and you either take it or you don't!! Love it!!!
Webmedex pays 6 holidays for ft employee status.

Yes but that means hiring a lot of extra people and paying out a lot of extra money when they can
have SE without all this. Their last report said they are making less money now than before and expect to make less in the next quarter so what does that say. We shall see. As part time employees you would still have to adhere to a schedule and I think people are SE for flexibility at least I am.
MQ pays 60% of transcription rate for VR.

than 9 cpl, double of what people will be making at RC Transcription.

Disorganized is an understatement. The company is run by people who have absolutely no experience or understanding of the transcription business. They work on ChartScript.net, SoftMed's web based platform. There are numerous complaints on this site in regards to this platform.
