Try Diskriter, add on Job Seekers

I work as a hospital employee through Diskriter and the benefits are very affordable. They are advertising for a Florida hospital. I don't work for this particular hospital, but in general I am sure the benefits are better and more affordable than any national company. I think there are only certains states that they can hire employees from, so you will have to check on that. I have love my job with DR as a hospital employee. I'm making more than I have ever made as an MT in 15 years. You can find some more info in a thread towards the bottom of the page. Don't let the negative posts discourage you. The hiring process is a little more involved, but it is for a hospital employee position, which makes a big difference.

I think that many job seekers
view the insurance provided and premium rate to be quite, quite high on the list of important information needed, so I do not think this is a bash post. It seems the uncertainty about insurance with this particular entity has been questioned several times over the last month or so, therefore it is a valid topic for discussion. Thanks for management coming on and providing specific information.
There is a posting on the Job seekers...
board for Hanover PA that mentions a Pennsylvania board. Does anyone know where I would find this? Thanks!
Try the Job Seekers board. Many of them sm
indicate that they hire US MTs only.
Oh...the thing in Job Seekers...
Yeah, it seems odd that he doesn't mention pay.
It looks like on the Job Seekers' board that most
I wonder how many of those clicks results in resumes. Seems like all the companies would be getting inundated with applicants right now.
If you look at the Job Seekers board you will see
your questions. Also Transcription Relief Services is another company that is always looking.
See the Job Seekers board, please. (SM)
The job advertisements are very descriptive. You should be able to discern easily who has insurance and who doesn't.
The Company board is for asking about specific companies.
Do you mean the Job Seekers board?
I count 23 job postings in the last week, so I would say it's far from dried up.
Job Seekers/Job Bank
I never really noticed how many were coming on a daily basis before. They obviously haven't flocked to the other board. I think they have 7 postings for the whole month. Maybe companies just aren't hiring as much right now. I didn't notice the Job Bank before you said that. I never even think to look there. Maybe companies aren't thinking to post there, either.
ATTENTION ALL JOB SEEKERS
Regretfully, we have had an incident where an unscrupulous offshore individual has placed an advertisement for employment, pretending to be an actual US-based company. Apparently, some have applied and even begun to work by this ad with an abrupt cancellation.
The owner of the actual company (US-based) has contacted us and is understandably upset.
We have removed the advertisement and placed a ban on this individual. Please, if you have responded to or are corresponding with anyone related to the ad, we advise you to stop.
The ad was posted on 10/03/08 by Timothy Olyphant and the subject was Seeking Contractors. This what the ad stated:
We are currently seeking contractors for Transcription Project. Audio is downloaded via FTP. Preferably, these contractors would work the morning shift clearing jobs as they come through the server. We are looking for contractors committed to do 5000 lines/day, Tuesday through Saturday. This contractor positions are available immediately. Interested contractors can send in the resumes/contractor profile to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please quote your rate per line.
Please note that this ad is a scam and the email address is not the actual address of the real US-based company.
We encourage you to contact the Administrator (email@example.com) or one of our Moderators (firstname.lastname@example.org, email@example.com) with any complaints or suspicions you have about advertisements on MTStars' Job Seeker's Board.

WAITING FOR WORK? POSTING ON JOB SEEKERS BOARD.sm
07/28/09 for new MTs, FT & PT, all shifts. Are they saying the accounts are UNDERSTAFFED?
Naturally, the new hirees will be gooing and gushing all over this board again about how GREAT their accounts are and how EASY their dictators are.
I JUST WONDER WHAT THIS LATEST, YET ANOTHER HIRING BLITZ IS GOING TO LEAD TO IN ANOTHER FEW WEEKS. Anyone care to predict? .
Posted on wrong board. Plz see Seekers board.
Run do not walk! Are they still offering 8 cpl? Even for their difficult accounts, with tons of ESL you cannot understand. Hard to make line count because if you're good they move you around all over the place. QA not bad, pretty nice ladies in that department. But I did hear recently that the one with the initials RP left and that was a blessing. And their incentive sucks. Benefits were always costly, but they did have a reasonable PTO. Equipment was crap. And the IT guys have nothing better to do than spy on you if you use their computer to look up something on the internet, and ream you! It's like "Big Brother is watching!" And the CEO monitors the line counts, and if you do not get your line count and you have their insurance he will terminate you. They do not listen as to why MTs cannot get their line count either, Oh Gee do you think that having to look up patients on patient sheets might slow someone down? Especially when you have to look it up by number and not by patient name, and nothing is in order???? Diskriter may be a fit for people who only need a 2nd income, but if you need more then "pin"money, I'd look elsewhere for employment.
anyone know anything about Diskriter?
Thank you very much. I really appreciate it.
This is very encouraging news! I do like the recruiter that I spoke with too. She answered all my questions and that makes me feel that if she can answer my questions, hopefully the rest of the company, especially management, is good too.
You should ask the recruiter how many accounts are overflow, and how many accounts are re-records, and how many have census sheets you have to look up the pt name, and account number, or there's one account where you have to look up the pt under the pt number. So if those options are a fit for you then perhaps you might be happy there, frankly I prefer my demos to populate the screen so I do not have to take the time to look up the pt in an email, because they send you computers where you cannnot have a printer and you have to constantly flip back and forth from one page to the next looking for patients, and are they still paying 8 cpl with that incentive that 9 cpl? If I were you I would apply to Transcend, there's a lot of happy people here regardless of what you read. They pay holiday pay 3 cpl more on holidays, Diskriter does not, they pay you a cumulative incentive, Diskriter does not, and the platform is great to work in. And the line count is right on. But to each it's own, frankly I would not roll out of bed for anything less than 9 cpl! Oh, and if you can wait a month to be paid, did the recruiter happen to mention that?Depending on what shift you work, especially it if it 2nd and weekends, it's like a ghost town on holidays! Depending on when you start it could be six weeks before you see your first paycheck. I understand there are a couple of leads that are the leads from hell! The downside of Transcend is the 120 day wait for benefits, and the year to start building up vacation, but I would rather take the xtras $$$! For me they were not a fit, but they can be for others, good luck to you!
Get off them. I work for them and I am leaving for reasons other than business. They want simply the best, that is why they hired me. Go back to bashing MQ and get off Diskriter, a very innovative company. And hell no, I am not a recruiter, they prefer quality over quantity so get good at it or get out.
dont waste your time. Apply at Amphion or some other reputable company that does not send the bulk of their work and their biggest accounts overseas to be done and leaves the recorded, the small accounts, the bad quality and the work that you make the least money on for the people in the US! Go to somewhere where you have a chance to make a decent living and get some decent work.
The platform is easy to learn, paid training with decent line count for 65 char/line , and I have the best supervisor I've ever had who actually LISTENS and helps me out! Try them out!
Try Diskriter as
I left an in-house job to work full time at home. I am an employee of the hospital, but Diskriter manages work flow, etc. Benefits are SO much better than the MTSOs with low-cost health insurance, vision, dental, life, retirement, etc. The benefits will vary depending on which hospital you are employed at, but generally I would think they would be still much better and less expensive than a national. Also, you work on only your hospital, so you just have one account.
I know Diskriter had an add on MTjobs about a week or 10 days ago. They were hiring 15 MTs for a Florida Hospital. Hope this helps.
I love Diskriter too. You won't see many posts, they might over-hire and bust up our good thing. They have been very, very good to me.
Unless your back is in need of having holes punched in it, I suggest staying very far away.
Diskriter is so sad...
Okay, lets think about just that. If they have competent IT support, this should not be an issue. Do they not have virus programs to protect themselves? Do those of you working for this company not get that other services do not put this restriction on you and let you do your job without the hassle and they have no HIPAA issues? It is their equipment, no doubt, but they lack ability to maintain equipment adequately and are always fearful of the MTs interacting.
This company is located not too far from my home and I have worked for them, both in the office and at home. They had great potential, but it is so sad how they lack the funds, knowledge and understanding of what makes a transcription service efficient, proficient, and money making.
I currently work at diskriter, haven't been there long, but they have a lot of work and have been a good place to work so far. They also pay you for any time down time so I would imagine you wouldn't run out too often.
I left Diskriter because you could never hear anything. I was on an account that was rerecorded. The sound was awful. At that time they did not pay for down time. However, I did read somewhere, maybe here, that they got in trouble with the labor board awhile ago for something. Not sure what.
Don't know much about Webmedx, sorry.
Bad experience with them years ago, but I doubt that their corporate mentality has changed, nor the core group of people. I would avoid them.
OSI or Diskriter?
I am at my wits end trying to find a company that fit. I have offers from OSi and Diskriter. I already took the physical, background check, etc for Diskriter. I really want to make an informed decision. A friend of mine worked for OSI, and she constantly complained of no work and computer problems due to their software. I do not have much information on Diskriter, except information regarding FBI check. Thanks for all and any opinions.
I have worked for both, so I can give you my honest opinion. I left Diskriter for incredible mismanagement issues as well as poor quality dictation. I actually worked in their office in doing QA and transcribing before going home as an MT since they are not far away. Things never improved.
Best wishes and good luck to you.
