Try Diskriter as

Posted By: hospital employee on 2005-09-02
In Reply to: WOULD LIKE TO FIND A COMPANY THAT HAS DECENT FAMILY INS. BENEFITS AND PTO - NEED HELP

I left an in-house job to work full time at home. I am an employee of the hospital, but Diskriter manages work flow, etc.   Benefits are SO much better than the MTSOs with low-cost health insurance, vision, dental, life, retirement, etc.   The benefits will vary depending on which hospital you are employed at, but generally I would think they would be still much better  and less expensive than a national.   Also, you work on only your hospital, so you just have one account.

I know Diskriter had an add on MTjobs about a week or 10 days ago.  They were hiring 15 MTs for a Florida Hospital.  Hope this helps.

Run do not walk!  Are they still offering 8 cpl? Even for their difficult accounts, with tons of ESL you cannot understand.  Hard to make line count because if you're good they move you around all over the place.  QA not bad, pretty nice ladies in that department.  But I did hear recently that the one with the initials RP left and that was a blessing.  And their incentive sucks.  Benefits were always costly, but they did have a reasonable PTO.  Equipment was crap.  And the IT guys have nothing better to do than spy on you if you use their computer to look up something on the internet, and ream you!  It's like "Big Brother is watching!"  And the CEO monitors the line counts, and if you do not get your line count and you have their insurance he will terminate you.  They do not listen as to why MTs cannot get their line count either, Oh Gee do you think that having to look up patients on patient sheets might slow someone down? Especially when you have to look it up by number and not by patient name, and nothing is in order???? Diskriter may be a fit for people who only need a 2nd income, but if you need more then "pin"money, I'd look elsewhere for employment.

anyone know anything about Diskriter?
diskriter
Thank you very much. I really appreciate it.
Diskriter
This is very encouraging news! I do like the recruiter that I spoke with too. She answered all my questions and that makes me feel that if she can answer my questions, hopefully the rest of the company, especially management, is good too.
Diskriter

You should ask the recruiter how many accounts are overflow, and how many accounts are re-records, and how many have census sheets you have to look up the pt name, and account number, or there's one account where you have to look up the pt under the pt number.  So if those options are a fit for you then perhaps you might be happy there, frankly I prefer my demos to populate the screen so I do not have to take the time to look up the pt in an email, because they send you computers where you cannnot have a printer and you have to constantly flip back and forth from one page to the next looking for patients, and are they still paying 8 cpl with that incentive that 9 cpl?  If I were you I would apply to Transcend, there's a lot of happy people here regardless of what you read.  They pay holiday pay 3 cpl more on holidays, Diskriter does not, they pay you a cumulative incentive, Diskriter does not, and the platform is great to work in.  And the line count is right on.  But to each it's own, frankly I would not roll out of bed for anything less than 9 cpl!  Oh, and if you can wait a month to be paid, did the recruiter happen to mention that?Depending on what shift you work, especially it if it 2nd and weekends, it's like a ghost town on holidays!  Depending on when you start it could be six weeks before you see your first paycheck.  I understand there are a couple of leads that are the leads from hell!  The downside of Transcend is the 120 day wait for benefits, and the year to start building up vacation, but I would rather take the xtras $$$!  For me they were not a fit, but they can be for others, good luck to you!

Diskriter
Get off them. I work for them and I am leaving for reasons other than business. They want simply the best, that is why they hired me. Go back to bashing MQ and get off Diskriter, a very innovative company. And hell no, I am not a recruiter, they prefer quality over quantity so get good at it or get out.
diskriter
dont waste your time. Apply at Amphion or some other reputable company that does not send the bulk of their work and their biggest accounts overseas to be done and leaves the recorded, the small accounts, the bad quality and the work that you make the least money on for the people in the US! Go to somewhere where you have a chance to make a decent living and get some decent work.
DISKRITER!!

The platform is easy to learn, paid training with decent line count for 65 char/line , and I have the best supervisor I've ever had who actually LISTENS and helps me out!  Try them out!

Diskriter
I love Diskriter too.  You won't see many posts, they might over-hire and bust up our good thing.  They have been very, very good to me.
Diskriter
Unless your back is in need of having holes punched in it, I suggest staying very far away.
Diskriter is so sad...

Okay, lets think about just that.  If they have competent IT support, this should not be an issue.  Do they not have virus programs to protect themselves?  Do those of you working for this company not get that other services do not put this restriction on you and let you do your job without the hassle and they have no HIPAA issues?  It is their equipment, no doubt, but they lack ability to maintain equipment adequately and are always fearful of the MTs interacting.

This company is located not too far from my home and I have worked for them, both in the office and at home.  They had great potential, but it is so sad how they lack the funds, knowledge and understanding of what makes a transcription service efficient, proficient, and money making.

Diskriter
I currently work at diskriter, haven't been there long, but they have a lot of work and have been a good place to work so far. They also pay you for any time down time so I would imagine you wouldn't run out too often.
Diskriter
I left Diskriter because you could never hear anything. I was on an account that was rerecorded. The sound was awful. At that time they did not pay for down time. However, I did read somewhere, maybe here, that they got in trouble with the labor board awhile ago for something. Not sure what.

Don't know much about Webmedx, sorry.
Diskriter
Bad experience with them years ago, but I doubt that their corporate mentality has changed, nor the core group of people.  I would avoid them.
OSI or Diskriter?

I am at my wits end trying to find a company that fit. I have offers from OSi and Diskriter. I already took the physical, background check, etc for Diskriter. I really want to make an informed decision. A friend of mine worked for OSI, and she constantly complained of no work and computer problems due to their software.  I do not have much information on Diskriter, except information regarding FBI check.  Thanks for all and any opinions.

Diskriter

I have worked for both, so I can give you my honest opinion.  I left Diskriter for incredible mismanagement issues as well as poor quality dictation.  I actually worked in their office in doing QA and transcribing before going home as an MT since they are not far away.  Things never improved.

Best wishes and good luck to you.

Diskriter
Has anyone worked for Diskriter, or have any information on them?  Thanks!
Diskriter

I talked to very nice recruiter.  They offered 1.05 to 1.25 per report for radiology. Don't know about other report types.  I turned it down thinking the pay was not high enough, but now I think it looked pretty good because the recruiter said those particular radiologists read a lot of norms and short reports.  I just wasn't sure at the time.

Has anyone here ever worked for Diskriter?

Diskriter?

Anyone currently working for Diskriter? Thinking of applying and would like any and all information on them, pros and cons.

diskriter
Agree with the post aboard and to add to it, they lie. you cannot trust your supervisor with concerns you have,,,,,,,,,,,,they promise to look into and never do. I am just hanging on until I finish college.
Yes, I too am an ex-diskriter
Run like you stole something!!!!!!!!!
Diskriter
Does anyone here work for Diskriter or now their reputation?
Diskriter
Just wondering if there is any flexiblility with Diskriter's schedule.  Guess what I mean to ask is, do they allow split shifts.
diskriter
you might want to check the archives on this company

Diskriter
I think they sound pretty good too. I know you can get jobs through them with hospital benefits that look awesome compared to other companies. I did read an ad of theirs that listed about 6 or 7 states that they can't hire from though.
Diskriter
 if you can't say something nice.......................sorry I can't.
Diskriter
Would anyone be willing to share their experience with Diskriter. The good, bad and ugly. Thanks!
Diskriter
Can anyone say how long it generally takes Diskriter to respond after sending in an employment test? Thanks much.
diskriter
Thanks to both of you for the reply. Jeannal, all and all how is it going?

Diskriter
Yes I believe they do.  I went through all of it.  I am not Mother Theresa and my credit was shot, so don't worry.  If I made it through, it will be a breeze for you.  Good luck.
Diskriter
I am a little leary and nervous about the idea of switching companies. I have flexibility now and I am wondering about Diskriter. How flexible are they? Do you have to always keep a time sheet? How are they in general? Thanks
Diskriter??
Anyone have any recent info/thoughts about Diskriter??
Diskriter
I sincerely hope I am not making a mistake.  Just agreed to start with Diskriter.  Please let me know if you hear anything.  Thanks!
diskriter
Don't worry - it has its ups and downs like everything else - but a good, fair company.
Diskriter not for me...
Trainer and I had issues the very first day. Reminded me a lot of an in-house super I had before I started working from home. Good luck to anyone else who chooses it, though. If you want more info, send email and will provide.
Diskriter
Although Diskriter does pay on time each time, their scheduling is very tight; don't want to be late signing on. Was there 3-1/2 years. Need to be very self-disciplined. Good company to work for.
Diskriter
Any of you work for Diskriter?  How is it since they started offshoring?
Diskriter

Any current Diskriter people willing to say how they like working there?  Would like to know how they treat you, is there enough work, and how their platform is.  Also, what is their average starting cpl rate?

Thanks.

Diskriter
I have been told that no add-on Expanders are allowed for Diskriter, that Word autocorrect/autotext must be used.  Somebody holler if I'm wrong about that!
Diskriter
I worked for them 4-1/2 years. Probably would still be there but they changed management and my supervisor, who was horrid. Their platform was great, the insurance was great and I did not have to pay for premiums because I was considered a hospital employee. My only problem with them was the change in management and the change in my supervisor. Because of those changes I felt I had to leave.
Diskriter sm

Do they offer direct deposit?  How do they pay?  Twice monthly or every other Friday?

Thanks!

Diskriter does
The team leader does monitor the times you are working and when you are not.
Diskriter
Does not affect my job so I am not worried about it. I love it there too. They are so great to their employees, you actually feel like someone not just another number.
Diskriter
Do they offshore?  I have an interview but will cancel if they do.  Answers will be helpful.
Diskriter
Has accounts that pay weekly. I worked for one of them for 4-1/2 years. It was NICE to receive a DD every week!
Diskriter
Anybody have the inside story on this company?  They have a pretty juicy looking ad posted on MT jobs.com.  Believe they say they use Chartscript?
Diskriter

Diskriter has accounts where you are a hospital employee.  Insurance is very affordable, varies with the different hospital, but would be the same cost as it you worked in house, so very affordable.

As far as pay, line rate is average.  They pay for spaces, headers and footers.  These hospital accounts are large teaching type hospitals though, so would depend on your experience level as far as being able to have large line counts.

DISKRITER

My understanding is that it is after 90 days (not 1 month, because I've been with them 2 and am not yet eligible.)  I like them, BTW.   :)
