I appreciate your info SO much.,,,recruiter said
in an email followup last night that I would be doing Op Notes and acute care...

Thank you!!
I have the above in printed info that the recruiter sent me before testing, which I did NOT take. nm
m
Recent info told to me by recruiter...
Requiring minimum 700 lines a day, 5 days a week, and the weeks must be either or Sun-Thu or Tue-Sat. Past workers only had to commit to 2 weekend days a month but new hires must take a weekend day each week.

This seemed to be as low as a person could go for weekly commitment, unless I misunderstood.
Strict TAT
I think there is work. From my experience, the MTSOs just want the work done within minutes, so they overstaff the accounts to make sure there is never a backlog. Good for them, bad for the MT.
Way too strict about scheduling
x
Very strict. If you have any question SM
as to whether you can make the minimum, don't even apply.  This also goes for when the work is low, they still expect minimum.
Thank you. I DO appreciate it. I do deal with strict QA now...sm
but at least they don't threaten to deduct your paycheck for it.

It sounds like their (Transolutions) QA is a lot tougher now...hmmmm....maybe it's not worth the extra benes...

Thanks again MTMT.
As far as I know, in the strict Muslim
countries, to which Saudi Arabia belongs, women are only allowed to work as nurses or teachers.

They want American MTs because they perceive them, rightfully, as the best, and they are ready to pay well for quality.

I see this as compliment. It is not that Muslim men and women regard every foreign women as immoral. They judge and differentiate according to the woman's behavior. If she is decent and virtuous, she is treated with respect.
I can imagine that there are restrictions regarding clothing, food and drinks, and lifestyle in general, but if we decide to live in another continent with a different religion and culture, we have to respect that.
Do you know how strict they are on their required experience? Thanks! nm
xx
When I worked for JLG, it was pretty strict sm
about work schedules. I did not realized they kept track of my time via the ICQ messenger, which I kept turning off because of persistent, numerous, disruptive, and annoying messages from people on the Net I didn't know. I didn't realize this and had to make up for time they claimed I didn't work but actually did. Maybe it's better now.
Are they extremely strict with schedules? nm
x
They're very strict with their lines sm

You'll get harrassing certified letters and nasty e-mails.  You're required to meet your lines by the 3rd payperiod.  They get really nasty to you too...they were all sugar sweet and helpful until I stood up for myself, and then their true colors came through.

Unless you're a very fast transcriptionist, it's almost impossible to make your lines.  I'm just an average transcriptionist.  I have always been able to make my lines at other places of employment, but never at TH.  They run out of work A LOT (read--nearly every single day) and have a butt-load of foreign doctors.  A really bad combination if you want to make your lines.

Some people love them, but I'm not one 'em!  I'm glad they're ancient history with me.  I work for a much better company now.

Better read the IRS specs first. There are strict....sm
instructions on whether to call a worker an IC or an employee. An employer can be in big trouble for mandating any specifications of a job if he/she is calling a worker an IC. They are starting to crack down on that, too, especially with companies who have several workers. It's about time, in my opinion, that places get in trouble! If you don't put up with it, it will stop happening.
WEBMEDX - how strict are they with their schedules and clocking in and out? TIA nm

I have to work 8-hour strict schedule SM
Platform is either Chartmatrix or Enterprise, average pay, the company is just average all around.  It's not horrible but it also isn't great.  Up until 6 months ago I would have recommended to give them a try, but they have started this downhill slide, feels more like Spheris now.  I have felt this for the last 6 months.  When the job market opens up a bit more I'm going to look around.
Can someone elaborate on the strict conditions of the contract?
The IC contract under which I currently work is very flexible and I've never had a problem with the MTSO except work is a little slow right now so I've got to be VERY flexible to make my lines.

I was considering a few other places to fill in the gap and Fast Chart was one of them.

I'd love more details about how restrictive the contract is and more details about the pay cut you'd be expected to take. Is their salary lower than the other MTSOs?

Thanks for any extra enlightenment you can provide!
While I think it would be difficult to work a very strict schedule at home - sm
I do believe that every MT should have a window in which they are expected to do their work. That benefits everyone involved, the MT, the company, as well as the hospital. I pretty much adhere to the same hours every day, unless something unexpected (emergency situation) comes up. I just think it is easier that way. However, in the summer time, I like to adjust my hours a bit to be able to work in the early a.m. while the kids are still sleeping. I work the same hours over the summer though. Working at home around your family is not easy, so there has to be a little flexibility on both sides. Going to an office to work without your everyday family and life interruptions, I believe, is quite different.
I think the only thing they are strict on is downloading things to the computer. sm
General surfing the web and stuff isn't a problem. I surf the web all the time for medical references, etc... and I haven't ever had a problem. I know that they are strict about not downloading anything to the computer because it may cause a conflict with the software they use.

Hope that helps.
Just curious...how strict is TT about having 5 years' experience before applying? NM

Keystroke radiology - flexible shift or strict?
I have tried searching the archives and found conflicting information.  A few posts say you must work an assigned shift but other posts say work when you want.  Which is it, or is it both depending on the account?
Strict on the days. It depends on the account as to the flexibility. nm

Does Webmedx has a strict schedule or a window to get work done?
I tried searching boards, but too many entries came up. Thanks
Do any companies allow you to edit the dictation somewhat or are you strict verbatim? First time do

Question about SoftScript. Strict schedule, can you quit when you get your lines? (sm)

I saw a posting before that said you were good to go as long as you signed in on time and did your lines.  Is this accurate?

Also, I have seen they are offering 7 cents per line regardless of experience.  Is this still true?

Amphion hires part-time - they're very strict schedule-wise though
Since part time is so hard to find these days your options are limited, so if you don't mind working for a company that is a stickler for strict schedule adherence, I say try Amphion.
Good Company, but yes very strict supervisor or mine was anyway! As long as you meet the deadline
you are safe!  They were strict when I was with them though
Any recent info on MedTrans Unlimited? newest archived info is 9 months old... m

Has anything changed in 9 months? Particular worries are the invoice/pay time; one post mentioned 2 to 3 week wait and another post stated 1 week. Info from the company states pay is sent out 10 days after the last day of the billing period, but we all know what is said and what is done isn't always the same. Another concern is the platform; some mentioned it was slow and cumbersome. They have 2 platforms from what I can gather.. Are they both slow? It seemed like certain specialties were done on certain platforms, or at least that is what I got out of the archives. I really hate to jump from the frying pan to the fire so any info would be VERY much appreciated.. the good, bad, and the ugly! TIA!!

Any Axolotl employees willing to share info., platform, ESL %, etc. All info greatly appreciated. sm

Along with the platform, ESL %, pay range, lpd required, split shift or 12-24 hour window available, I would be interested in knowing your personal experience with this company, what type of relationship you have with supervisors and other coworkers, etc.  Otherwise, the all the 411.

Thanks!

Not a recruiter...

In fact, no longer work for Spheris, but only because working 20 hours PT in addition to my FT job became too much. I cannot compare it to other nationals as I haven't worked for any others, but it was a good experience for me in many ways; good accounts, good supervisor, pay always on time.

Not every company is going to be a good fit for everyone.

Recruiter
damage control at its finest
recruiter-can't believe she said that. SM
I had one recruiter say to me, because I worked for a big national: "You must not be a very good Transcriptionist if you're working for them!" I said "EXCUSE ME! I have almost 30 years experience and have outstanding quality and can back that up." I told her straight out that her comment really offended me. Needless to say, that turned me completely off on that company and I did not pursue employment there. Too bad. They missed out on a great transcriptionist. Their loss.
Recruiter said they will
I was hired a few weeks ago and the recruiter said that they pay headers, footers and spaces. I don't know if it counting them or not. The platform is terrible and the sound quality is even worse.

recruiter
what recruiter quit?
As a recruiter
I would like to tell you that I look for blanks on tests. I do not count that against an applicant, nor should anybody else. It is always better to blank a word than to guess at it. A blank says I don't know for sure and do not want to guess. It basically lets a recruiter know that you know when to ask for help.
OR their new recruiter. LOL!!!
LMAO

Not a recruiter either
Just a plain ole MT.  Check out their website for recruiting info.  Don't think we're allowed to post names and numbers here.
What does it take to become a recruiter?sm
Boy some of these recruiters!!! Just what does it require to be a recruiter.Just got an email from one and my goodness at the grammar!!! Hard to believe.
That too. It is not a sin to tell a recruiter that you are not
sure. Being honest is the best way. Recruiters are trained in knowing how to evaluate what knowledge you have. The trained ones can tell.
Ask the recruiter
nm
The recruiter won't tell you
The recruiter won't tell you it is difficult to get a linecount. Also, not sure who the new recruiter is. They lost a lot of people when making the decision to train in Trinidad. The company used to say they would never offshore and they had a decent reputation and were a good company to work for until the owner got money hungry. The company had been started by his late wife and obviously her ideals of keeping the work here became unimportant to him after awhile.
Was this recruiter's...sm
I had a similar thing happen to me recently.
Ex-recruiter is exactly right (sm)
If you are an organized recruiter all of this can be accomplished in a short period of time. All it takes is good organization, attention to detail and professionalism. Anyone who expresses an interest in your company deserves a response.

Recruiter ads
I have seen 1 ad on the boards for recruiters wanted. You could always just send in a resume to the nationals with that information on your resume - that you are applying for recruiter position.
Recruiter

Hi,

The company I am working for now is actually looking for 2 recruiters.  Please email me if you are interested.

Not a recruiter
I have worked there for 3+ years on the Merit side. No real complaints here. We have an occasional work slowdown on my team, but that is infrequent and only lasted for part of a day in the cases I recall. The benefits package there is one of the best I have heard of in MT also.
As a recruiter, someone who actually has done
wonderful things in transcription does not get a test! People get nervous, PARTICULARLY if they have accomplished high achievements in this industry. If the person had proven herself in the field, then waive the test. She knows her stuff! It would be one thing if she just told you, but I know one woman who has done marvelous things in the industry that actually helped make the industry better for the MT and was given a test and flunked. She knows her stuff more than the MTTest site where she took the test.

No other field would test someone who has proven themselves 100 times over.

You may talk this way yourself, but are you an MT and can you pass a test? I know one recruiter that couldn't pass a simple QA test and told me so. I waived it but I did her no favors by doing so as she was an awful QA person, but that was really not her expertise. To tell you the truth, the only thing she was good at was running her mouth and gossiping. she might make a good professional gossip. I still hired her though and all I heard was how horrible everyone was at the company and this person said this, that person said that and I knew the love life of everyone there, then she complained to me as to what was expected of the QA staff (numbers) during the day. When you spend your time on the phone talking to everyone in the company, you won't make the numbers.

Recruiters need to relax on testing everyone in the field that have a PROVEN TRACK RECORD WITH MT COMPANIES...not hospitals, but MT companies. If they have worked successfully for MT companies and done well, held their job, made a decent line rate, they can do the job for the most part.
Their recruiter is probably one of the two
that I have ever spoken to that are pleasant to deal with. I have spoken to many recruiters and to say that there are just TWO is saying something. This lady will get back to you if she said she would. I have found her to be professional and up front with everything. If she said she had to take care of some things, perhaps something came up in her life that she had to handle. Recruiters are human too. I am sure she will get back with you as soon as she can. She's a nice lady.
Are you a recruiter?
How may someone apply with your company?
