around $250 per single and that KS will be picking up a large portion.

They told me they'd call by the end of the week.
so i'm just waiting, lol
They told me they would call me and never did.
I'm not sure what is up with that.  I am a VERY experienced acute care MT, many years in a hospital, many years with my own acute care accounts.  I was told to call Heather and I did.  She was on another line and said she'd call me right back and I never got a call.  Not sure what is up with that because companies usually fall all over themselves trying to hire me (not bragging - I just have a lot of experience and I do very well on transcription tests and I companies are happy to have me work for them).  But anyway, I never got a call back and had other companies begging me to work for them, so I didn't pursue it although I had been very interested in hearing what DSG had to offer.  But I have read that the same happened to others; they never got a call back from DSG.
I was told I'd get a call back too
with TAT, hours, etc.; after hearing such wonderful things about the company, lack of follow through on their part did make me blue.
I was on the conference call and was told
that MDI would be a subsidiary of Transcend but would be called MDI/Transcend. Sounded like a crock to me.
As recently as last week, I was told that there were
never employee positions at MDI-MD, strictly IC only. Are you sure you have the right company? I have many friends who work there as well, and all are IC and wish they had employee status. Very confused here.
This week I was told $11.25 an hour

I'd be editing VR all day though as she sends her standard transcription off to some MTSO.  I forgot to ask which.  Those wages are not bad really for this part, but nothing to scream about.  I was making $14 an hour at the in-house hospital job and the peak there was $17.50.   The bens are wonderful, $150 for family and that includes dental, vision.  We also get a 401k.

But just from the interview, we only get yearly raises.  She doesn't do merit increases.  There are no quarterly QA audits.  Her standards are low, 1100 lines per day for editing.  She told me I was at the top of her list to hire but she is still interviewing.  I took it as she was looking for someone who would work cheaper.

Thank u, but I am confused. On our conference call, we were told

that we would maintain our flexiblity and be able to meet our commitments in a 24-hour window.  Are you saying there are set shifts?  That is huge for me, as I cannot work a set shift around my kids' ever-changing schedules.  Right now we are required to work 2 weekends days per month and we commit to X number of lines per day on the days we schedule ourselves to work.  We were told this flexibility would NOT change.  We also do not request holidays off, but schedule ourselves to work one holiday per year.  We write our own schedules and submit them every 2 months.  The flexibility is the biggest reason I have worked for MDI for years and the only place I wanted to work again after taking a year off to be with a newborn.

I like my current accounts, but am willing to also learn a new platform/account to make sure I have enough work.  But the flexible scheduling is imperative.

Wow, How can they even call this insurance?!!?
Thanks for posting.  I've always wondered what was meant by consumer driven insurance.  With insurance coverage like that, I don't imagine that many people who need benefits would have Spheris on their list of companies to apply to!
Also I was told there is a 20 hour per week requirement (sm)
along with the 4,000 line. I have been an IC with this company since 1998 and just found this out about a week ago. Nothing in anything I actually signed, they were just "letting me know" to maintain my status this was the requirement.

As above, each office is different although I think they are trying to get more uniform across the board.
I was told that was no longer an option last week.

TNI told me last week they weren't hiring currently as

I start at Webmedx next week and was told...
that my account will be 30% ESL.  When filling out the questionnaire, you are given the opportunity to tell them the amount (percentage wise) of ESL you can handle.  I put down 30-40%. I'm impressed with the way the recruiter handled things and, hopefully, will feel the same way in a month or so.  He seemed to really want to work with me and address any concerns that I had.  Good starting line rate with a good incentive plan.
You need to confirm that with Keystrokes as I was told last week it was not. sm
I would assume each account has different software and programs as to whether it is compatible or not. I was told most of their accounts are not. So don't assume that all Keystrokes accounts are compatible.
They told me last week they weren't hiring
true or false?  This was e-mail from Carlotta.
QT? I call them several times a week and have NEVER sm
experienced a person with any kind of accent answering the phone. Never. Are you getting an answering service after hours that might have hired a person with an accent?
I would call them. We had meetings all week and sm
the recruiter was saying that she is caught up and pleased with the way things are going. Perhaps you missed a call or email or they called the wrong number. I would definitely call as Terri is really on top of things!
Call your insurance carrier...
and ask for the status of your policy. Ask them if it has been terminated due to nonpayment. They will tell you. You have every right to know.

If your insurance has been temporarily cx due to nonpayment, then I would definitely be considering my options. This is not a good indication of the financial standing of the company.
They test for ortho but not others but I was just told that starting this week, everyone will have t
I love it there too!
I received a phone call from MDI mgt. about my questionnaire answers and told ICs must by E/O ins.

We are on 7 days/week right now for rad. You need to call your lead. sm
There is PLENTY of work in radiology. I have typed more rad in the past month than ever before with any other company.
Call now. A week is certainly long enough to wait. nm
s
I got mine almost a week ago and already filed. You might want to call them.

I was told the new one will be less than $200/month. My husband's insurance is horrible and $800
nm
Call insurance companies in your local

yellow pages that advertise health insurance.   Call several to get comparisons.

Check einsurance.com.

I know which account this is that started this week. I would call tomorrow. sm
The IDs were sent back from the hospital but only one part of them. I have been on the account for 2 days and it is great. HBO Star and lots of volume and good dictators except one or two. Call and ask if the IDs are ready. There are a bunch of new accounts starting at the same time. They pulled me from my primary to help until the other IDs are in, so they are definitely needing you on there. You will love the KS rad department; I have been with them for 4 years and every year it gets better!
I talked to the insurance person yesterday (we all have her phone #). She told me sm
that the holdup was the insurance company and the fact that all KS employees did not get their paperwork in despite phone calls and emails. They needed both the applications for those who want it and the waivers from those who don't, apparently a federal requirement to prove that they offered it to everyone eligible.

The date of effect might still be 6/1 and everything will be retroactive with cards in the mail this week. They will know today.

I am excited about. I too have been without insurance for too many years!
I talked to the insurance lady too (she is very nice) and was told the same thing. sm
I called the office and talked to a high-up manager who said that they haven't said anything because they do not have anything in writing and do not want to give information and have it be wrong.

The premium for employee only is $404 per month and KS is paying $202. This is much better than I had at another company that I do not want bash as this was the only issue I had.

I love it at KS because I have plenty of work and everyone in the office is so nice. My lead changed positions in the company a few months ago and my new lead is very nice and more organized. I have been there 11 months (this time) and was there a year before that in 2005-6. I made the mistake of thinking that the grass was greener but it wasn't!
I agree. I was thanked for working extra the end of last week and told of some MTs on my job type
who were out due to illness or vacation and that we were getting behind.  Same as the message this morning....the minutes were building up.  Seems things are a bit desperate at this point and we all just need to quit trying to read into the situation and pitch in and get the work back under control.  OUR company needs OUR help, and we need to pitch in 200% or we may very well find ourselves without an account to work on.  I don't think it was a threat this morning - I think it could happen.
They were still interviewing last week--wouldn't hurt to call or E-Mail
As far as I know they are still looking for Acute Care MTs, but I don't know how many they just hired or what kind of hours, FT/PT they still have available.  Could be that they are still looking for a couple more.  Sure wouldn't hurt to go to their website and call or E-Mail.  If they are still hiring, they may be jammed with applications, so if they do not respond right away that is probably a good sign and you should keep trying.  They are worth the effort to talk with them.
Told minimum PT was 3500 lines a week; requires 2 weekend days a month nm
xx
per his request I told him Time To Call, he called Not That Time, emailed me
nm
Yeap, this be me. I told you that you would like it. Truly, this is the best company.
I had the pleasure of meeting Melissa personally and she is just delightful and a joy to work for.
Yes, right company. MTSO told me so
herself.   The offshoring is fairly new, maybe 3 months or so.   I did QA on some of the files.
See, told you they were a great company. Not too many would do that.
nm
Call the company
It sounds to me like you may be someone I know, but if my hunch is wrong I would suggest you get the information you want directly from the company I am sure I can provide you with a couple different email addresses.
I was told to only ask about a specific company, but that was the problem..
I didnt even know who to apply with and all I wanted was recommendations, which I guess is not allowed. I certainly didnt expect anyone to offer me a job from my post. It's just nice to hear what others have to share about the company they work for, which some of us may not even know about to specifically ask about. Oh well. sorry you got deleted. I feel your pain.
On-Call Transcription company
Does anyone know anything about this company??  I heard that they recently moved to Charlotte NC.  From what all have told me, I have heard NOTHING good about them.  Their ethics and treatment of clients and MTs are horrendous.  Please let me know.  Thanks!!!
call the phone company
and tell them they are, in fact, harassing you and ask them how to block their calls. That would seem to be a better way to handle it.
With any company, call again. Maybe he or she did not get the message. nm
I don't work for them (but I might be applying in the next few weeks if things continue to go bad at Transcend). I almost passed on a job because I did not hear back from someone. Turns out that they never got my message. Even more close to my heart is that I almost didn't get a second date with my husband because I did not get a message he swears to this day he left. 7 years later, I'm sure glad he called me again!
Call your company for unblock...SM
I've had this aggravate me to no end.  Often just cell phones with wrong number, but lots of telemarkers, bill collectors already paid, etc.  Most companies (mine is free) will unblock incoming Unknown Callers, i.e, an unknown caller wishing to call you will be notified that you are not accepting anonymous calls and are prompted to enter a code, ie, #82, thus their number will show up on your caller ID.  They don't want to give their number??  Tuff stuff !  Why should you show yours if they won't show theirs?
Yeah, my old company told all of us our jobs were secure
They told us to go about our business and work as usual, that a merger or acquisition may be taking place, and we need not worry. In that first call, I asked the supervisor about sending it to India and got a very defensive answer. I should have learned!!! Six months later, 150 of us...bam!!! Laid off...no more US MT force for that company...
When Transcend bought the company I worked for we were told they did not do IC, just PT/FT... sm
so this is news to me!  Maybe they allow different things for different companies they buy.  I also understood a little while after the merger that all accounts would move over to their platforms, but now I am reading that maybe not all of them did with other mergers.  I am sorry you all are going through this!  I remember how it was thrown on us so quickly too.
I was told that the company is fined and they take the compalints off their website
after being paid. My husband was working for a plumbing company that had a lot of negative reports (he dosen't work for them anymore thank god) and all they had to do was pay $5,000 to get the complaints taken off. We checked the BBB site again and low and behold there is not one bad complaint against them. I didn't know you could buy the BBB. How does that protect the consumer?
If you know who the insurance company
is, contact them. If that is who you have been calling, contact HR at your company. SOmetimes it does take a while to get the cards, as long as you have the information on the insurance company you can give to treating facility, if you need it, you should be covered.
Anyone know of a company that needs about 10 hours a week...
I'm looking for part-time work, about 10 hours a week.  I've got 13 years full-time acute care experience and just need a few hours, Mon-Fri, morning or night!
the company that runs 3 to 5 ads a week.
.
Since when does any legit company call us "transcribers"?
That throws up a red flag for me. Legitimate US-based companies would never say they are looking for transcribers.
Thanks. I will call...Sorry, that should read are they the company that "do" ERs, not does! (

Call the credit card company
and file a claim. Most have a $ limit (has to be x$ or more) but this is your best bet.

And then file a report - you'll have to do some research in your state to find out where.

I am not a lawyer, but I doubt the contract would hold up in court.

PRINT OUT every piece of correspondence you have on your computer in case your computer crashes. Also save it to disc.
lets call it 50/50 .... bad/good MT/company
nm
No, I haven't been. I told my true experience of working for that company.
I don't have a negative attitude.  You're the one who can't handle it when someone disagrees with you.
