Well, Medivoxx's HR people need to be fired

it sounds like. That's CRAZY. No company in my 20 years has made me jump through hoops like that & transcribe that many 'test' documents. You can tell from a couple of reports & maybe a multiple choice questionnaire if the candidate has experience or not - not to mention checking references... I guess I will cross Medivoxx off my list until they learn how the MT hiring/testing process works.

I know people there who need to be fired and they won't fire them. That just simply sm
is not true.  They are a very nice company.  They have benefits which include PTO and sick time.
CBay fired more people via conference call.
...including one that they tried to get rid of in December but felt compelled to keep.
Not Lee. She doesn't come here anymore. Too hard to read the lies from people who were fired fo

poor quality, poor work ethics, cherry picking, disappearing for days on end, not covering their shifts or line counts, crazy HR people (both were nuts and evil).

Good and bad at every company including KST, MQ, Spheris, Transcend, etc.

In my opinion what you make is confidential and I have seen people get fired for discussing rates.
That all goes along in confidentiality agreements. I am in agreement with you though..it really is not anyone's business. If they want to know, they need to ask the company. The company will probably tell them.

oh yea they fired a couple of people for sexual harrassment and breaking into mt's computers.
.
MediVoxx?
Does anyone have feedback on MediVoxx?
About MediVoxx
Never went with them myself, but from another MT, very nice people to work with, low rates to start, and she was editing voice recognition reports. That's all I know.
Medivoxx

Does anyone have information on this company?  I have an interview tomorrow with them.  I am a new grad, and I really would like to get a position.  Thanks.

Medivoxx
I know there was a posting recently about this company, but I cannot seem to find it now.  The position they have is for a MT/editing position using VR.  I am not too familiar with this, so if any one has info on it I would appreciate it.  One of my concerns is how many lines per day doing editing VR work produces? Another question I have is if anyone else out there does VR work, is it worth it?  Thank you all.
MediVoxx

Does anyone have any new info on MediVoxx?  I recieved an application from them, but I am not sure if I want to do it or not.  Please if anyone has some recent info let me know!  Thank you!

Sincerely,

Nissa

Medivoxx

I applied with them several weeks ago.  They tell me every week that they hope to get more information to be by the end of the week.  Has anyone else had a similar experience or have any information on them.

Thanks

Medivoxx
Yes I have had that experience with them. I bugged them every day and I got put off every day. They take forever. And it is true they do a lot more testing after the initial test. I ended up failing one to the later tests they gave me.
Medivoxx
I've been waiting on them 3 weeks to respond to my application ... haven't even tested yet! Supposedly they're short-staffed - which is really depressing.
Medivoxx
The application requires the applicant to fill in "compensation desired (be specific)".  I was receiving 6.5 cents per line.  The lines were not character driven but rather carriage return determined.  I know I would make a lot less at this rate with a character driven line so I would want to ask higher than that, and  I do know there is usually a different rate for editing.  Can you tell me what the going rates are for each type of transcription, and what I should realistically put here.  Any guidelines would be appreciated.
Medivoxx...sm
Does anyone or has anyone ever worked for Medivoxx?  I was thinking of applying there.  I know I have heard you start out at 3-1/2 cpl at training for VR and then after training it is 5 cpl for VR.  I think that is all they do is VR.  If they paid 5 cpl for VR would it be worth it since it isn't straight transcription?
MediVoxx

Does anybody know about MediVoxx?  Anybody ever worked for them or know somebody who has worked for them?

I am testing with them and I am just wondering how they are to work for.  Is the pay on time?  Is their pay scale fair?

I checked the archives and a lot of people have asked, but there doesn't seem to be anybody who has worked for them that has responded.  Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Is this Medivoxx? nm

MediVoxx
That sounds exactly like what I am doing right now. I have gone through that whole process. I turned in my 12 dictations yesterday and they went to QA. I kind of thought the same thing, but these notes were dated 08/2003, so they were very old files. If they would have been dated Sept 2009 then I would have been more suspicious.

He said as soon as he heard back from QA that he would send me back an email hopefully with an offer.

So, did you do the last set of dictations? I had 12 total. 8 wav docs for one doctor and 4 wav/4 dss for another one, but the wav/dss files were the same, so it ended up being 12. The samples they sent to me seemed inconsistent. I didn't like that. They also don't follow BOS, which I don't like. I'm still hopeful though.

Any experience with MediVoxx? nm

Info on Medivoxx
I do not currently work there, but I can tell you what I know.

You have to transcribe one dictation and fill out a long application. Then, take two more tests. One is for grammar and the other is spelling and definitions, etc.

After that, you get a phone interview. Then you have to sign agreements and type more files for them, which can take up to two weeks (without pay.)

Then, if you qualify, you are hired as an entry level MT editing voice recognition documents. The pay is 35 cpl for one month or until they feel you are ready.

At that point, you become a one pass MT/editor for VR files, starting at 5 cpl. They do give raises (up to 75 cpl) and bonuses.

I'm in the final process of being hired right now.

Anyone currently working for Medivoxx?

Is anyone currently working for Medivoxx out of Louisville, KY? Thanks!

Any info on Medivoxx

Anyone working for Medivoxx? I checked the archives but there really was not that much info to go on.  I have never done VR so I would like to know about this before accepting a position.  If there is anyone working for them how many lines do you edit in a day?. The pay is low 3.5 to start while trained.  Is this worse than just typing?  I have done straight typing for 5 years. I have lost all my physician accounts to India and then worked for a hospital for only 5 months being laid off due to shortage of work, so I do not want to play around with another company. I want to stay put for a while.

Thanks for all information.

is there ANYONE who works for medivoxx???
I posted a message on the main board about the QA at my company and I just feel like I am going to get canned.  Like I explained in that post, the QA is very controversial.  Some do it this way, some do it that way, and I never get a clear answer on anything.  I also pull up completed reports as samples and will follow it that way, and it still gets marked wrong.  The QA supervisor isn't really any help.  I just feel like they are looking to get rid of people now because their workload is really slowing down.  But ANYWAYS, even though I have 7 months of experience now, I am thinking maybe I should just get a job at a company that is known for hiring newbies such as Medivoxx or Focus Infomatics.  The company I am at now is just making me feel like I am not doing a good job.  So any info on these companies or any others would be appreciated.  Thanks.
Any info on Medivoxx?
Does anyone know anything about this company?
Medivoxx is offshoring

This once wonderful company has been taken over by aliens, and I only wish it was the outer-space kind.  On behalf of those currently being bent over and the clients that are being lied to, do what you do best my friends.  Spread this news like wildfire.

Did anyone do the MediVoxx test?

Did anyone test with this company or know anything about it?

I worked for MediVoxx
I worked for them briefly about 3 years ago.  Although I do not remember the transcription portion of the test to be that long, I do remember that there were so many steps in the process that I never thought I was actually going to start work.  I got done with them rather quickly because their VR software was the worse I have ever seen.  I ended up having to retype the entire reports over.  No way was I going to get paid a low VR rate and have to retype the entire documents. Although things may have changed since then, you may want to keep that in mind.
Lartech Healthprime/MediVoxx
Has anyone ever worked for Healthprime or MediVoxx?
Anyone here working for Medivoxx that can share experience with them? nm

Any information on Medivoxx - answer here or by email nm

Shapin, Execuscribe, MedScribe, QED, Encompass, Medivoxx Anyone?
Has anyone worked for Shapin, Execuscribe, MedScribe, QED, Encompass, or Medivoxx. Just wondering the good and bad of each company.
Spheris does what? I've just got done testing for MD-IT. I heard they bought out MediVoxx in Lo
nm
They probably fired your sorry self!
mm
Oh? Fired again? nm
x
I do believe that if you are fired
but if you leave willingly, you cannot collect. Good luck.
I have NEVER EVER EVER been fired from a job
But maybe you have. I was just stating something and you felt the need to jump down my throat and on my back and stomp all over it. Who are you? Diskriter management maybe?
How about the AC that was just fired

because she would not be a rat?  Your AC, other ACs and those in management will be there as long as there is an OSi.  They cannot get positions any place else.  One AC left, tried for months to get work, could not, so went back. Also, after reading your many goofy posts here, you should count your blessings and make OSi your home.  Who knows, one day you may be a director.

Probably been fired from all - LOL
nm
What AC got fired at OSI?

Yep. I got fired too. sm
The guy was a real jerk.
Yes. I was one of them fired. sm
The guy who did it was a pompous sounding ass while the HR lady cried while she was on with us.
I can see why you got fired - MT

Very unprofessional

Usually when someone is fired SM

from any job, there's the story they tell everybody about why and then there is the truth.  I know for a fact there is some step-by-step procedure they go by for quality problems and they give lots of chances to attain the 98%, including the full review of work with full feedback, just like when you started.

If she didn't go through all that, then it's likely she didn't work her schedule correctly and they really are not putting up with people who abuse the schedules.

Anyone can be fired for anything at any
time. Being an IC you have less protection from that than a FT employee. All she has to say is that she has enough FT'ers or coverage or whatever and doesn't need you any more.
Fired

You have my support.  It is very frustrating to have deal with difficult employers.  As much as I like being an MT, I feel 90% of the time in this business, it is a very THANKLESS job.  You never get appreciation for what you do, only criticized from anything from your boss having a bad day, doing too much work, not doing enough, or even silly, petty things.  Not only do we have to know a lot to do this job, but make ourselves available for our employers at a moment's notice, be willing to pick up the slack of other MTs not doing their jobs, and be thick skinned to put up with negative comments, ignorant, nasty bosses, etc.  It's just unfair for people to be so cold-hearted in this business.  You know, what goes around comes around.

Good luck to you!

If she fired you

in a tantrum and then reHIRED you within an hour, you most probably meet employee criteria, and she, most likely, is bipolar.

let go vs fired
If you are fired, at least in the past, you were not eligible for unemployment. I was told they were not firing me, just letting me go. So you decide.
you are sure fired up
or are just a plain ol hothead. Either way, there is no need to get so rude and snotty with everyone. Yes, I worked for MQ and, contrary to what you think, I did listen, and when it was the right time for me, I also left. I too have been at this 34 years, but I've lived in 6 different states, so I have had legitimate reasons for changing jobs. One thing I know, I've always conducted myself professionally, even when I had to tell a doctor or two off, and even here on these boards. I listen and I watch, not stick my head in the sand. I gave my current opinion of MDI and CB and stand by it, until my experience shows me differently. Hope you have defused now before your BP goes off the chart, and are happy in your new job. Remember, we're all in this together, even with our different opinions.
Yup, been fired before.
About six years ago, I was let go due to 'QA issues'. I never really got the full story on why I was let go, but at the time, I didn't really care much - I was so bummed.

Try to get in touch with your ex-supervisor and simply ask what the issues were that got you fired - explain that it's so you can learn from your mistakes. Then take some time, have a few beers (if you drink), bum around in your PJs for a day or two, and then get right back on and find something else. It may have just been that the speciality didn't suit you - try something else, like cardiology or psych.

Don't give up if this is really what you want to do. Keep at it and you'll find a place that suits you. Keep smiling!!! =)

Hey Flabbergasted...just got an email from another Webmedx ex-employee...it's all over and her boss is calling everyone to tell them...expecting my phone to ring as soon as they get to my last name in the alphabet....the account is gone and so are our jobs.  Our beloved manager hand picked a few of her favorites to switch to the new account coming online...the rest of us have been kicked to the curb!
