I usually just sit with my hands totally free and read along until a change is required, then I use ALT+K to go directly to what needs to be corrected. Once I correct it, I totally remove my hands from the keyboard again and read along until the next correction is needed.

If on occasion I do get a report that requires extensive cleanup, such as with a dictator whose reports are just getting started up in VR, I keep one finger on the CTRL key and the other on the right arrow as I read along, correcting where necessary.

That's just my experience and what I've found works best for me, though others may have other techniques that are more effective for them.
