What divide?

The divide is wrong. QA should be no better than an MT, and my comments about MTs - bottom line, QA would not have jobs without us, period. What would you have to critique?

Sounds like you have personal issues with YOUR company and YOUR QA personnel. Your tone in hostile and nasty. Do you have anything nice to say about anyone or anything? Gosh I would sure hope this is not coming from anyone that works at my company. This is some really nasty stuff.

I divide out my day -
I edit in the mornings and afternoons, take a break, then start transcribing in the early evening. I'll take another break then keep going until about midnight. Since I work at home, I have the flexibility to leave the house for a while too.

It can get crazy busy during the weeks though and it gets tiring but I take the weekends off so I can still have some relaxation and fun time. It seems to work for me and my family.
Divide and conquer.............
This is exactly why home-based MTs cannot achieve any viable kind of bargaining base....because we are too geographically scattered and we are not in a physical office where we can present a united front to the suits. And you had better believe they know this AND COUNT ON THIS to keep us in their control.
