see in the packet about difficulty premium and pay, but is every single dictator being assessed and listened to somehow and who is determining the difficulty?

There is a difficulty premium
rate for jobs that are rated more difficult than others. You get paid more but the difficulty decision is made higher up, you will know before you start that job whether they are higher pay or not. It doesn't sound like we have imput in this process but not sure.
They have IM so not sure why such difficulty
getting in touch with someone.  During my interviews I was constantly hearing the IM ping and I know several messages were sent back and forth.   Maybe there are different e-mail addy for management to communicate.
Difficulty with a term
This s/l D-timer and is a test done to r/o pulmonary embolus.
Any help appreciated.
Apparently they did not have any difficulty--sm
getting responses, which the last mentioned was 135. Perhaps you should have applied, just to find out who they are, since you cannot seem to sit still in your undies just wondering about it, or maybe you DID apply and didn't get chosen....sour grapes. sheesh. real mature.
Account difficulty
Agree with you Daphne. Spend lots of time verifying demographics when they DO give you an understandable name but are too lazy to input the number. Do that across little 5 line jobs and see how many THOUSANDS of lines you get. Also, don't forget the percentage of lines deducted for headers that you don't deserve credit for even when you wasted all that time with the demographics. Wow, big time money-maker!
Any Spheris employees having difficulty with their email? NM

Is this OSI? Figures
They will promote anybody if they are a friend.
it figures
Is that the only thing people come on this board, to insult and correct other peoples English/grammar skills? I was making a point, I did not write my posting to get my writing skills graded by you. I am not a journalism major. The company sucks, they are a bunch of sexually frustrated snotty bitches that hate thier job and its obvious to me. Its also obvious to me who you are.

Figures....
Probably an intimidation strategy to try to stop MTs from warning each other about the company. Sounds like she operates very similar to the postings I've read about Toth.

Can you block her from your email? I probably just wouldn't even bother to open anything from her, since she obviously doesn't have anything of interest to say.

That figures
I finally find a company I like working for with decent dictators and they are laying people off. I haven't even been with Breitner a year so I have no seniority. I thought they were getting new accounts but I guess I better start looking again.
That figures

They actually called me to work for them.  I took the test and passed.  Then never heard back from them despite me calling to get voicemail and emailing with no response.  But just the other day they called me, SURPRISE !!! and we could not work out a schedule for me to work.  Every schedule I gave them would not work because I need to work a split shift on Sunday and different times during the week.  I've been in MT for 5 years and I never had an experience like that before with scheduling.  Now that don't have work, seems its the trend nowadays.  I'll keep working part time where I'm at now with NO WORK or all VR in the poor house until I figure out about going back to school or hopefull I can find a halfway decent job and get out of MT altogether.

Your figures
I think there is something wrong in the figures you give:

You said: I make .075 cpl. New ISR rate for me 0.46875 (less than 5 cpl). 11001 lines at my current rate = $1045.09 ---- 11001 lines at my new ISR rate = $735.69

The change in the new ISR rate is off your base line rate, not your current ISR rate. I can't get this to look anywhere close to what I figured for my own pay, and I used similar numbers for lines.

Check if you are figuring correctly. It may not make you feel all that much better, but who knows... Maybe it's not as bad as you thought.

Post here from Jan. said start off at 6 cpl & go up to only 9 cpl thru weird tiers of difficulty.

HEAVY ESLs, will not switch accounts if you are having difficulty, and more...sm
Plus you have to pay $25.00 every payday to get your check UPS to you.  Now, I never have known UPS to charge $25.00 to mail a letter overnight!  They must be making profit off of it.  The worst ESLs ever!  I have worked for many years as a MT but NEVER had this horrible of ESLs.  Not to mention the VERY RUDE QA staff!  Supervisors and work flow are nice.  I would think twice.  But pay was always on time and always correct.  You just have to balance out.  They used to run out of work too.  Don't know if that has changed or not.
That figures. I just resigned from MD-IT 1.5 wks ago. nm

They're kind of new. Older posts had people having difficulty with them. nm

Anyone else finding difficulty doing testing with your foot pedal. I am having all kinds of
problems and cant seem to test in Express Scribe with my foot pedal.  Am I going to run into this same problem every time I apply somewhere.  I cant do the test without a pedal because it is very long with fast dictators.  Even to use and keyboard keys is very difficult so I gave us actually.
No where in the post did I say that the figures were IDEAL.

LOL, it figures YOU would rear your head
I'll get to work as soon as my shift starts.

I wouldn't want to start earlier than scheduled and 'steal' any of YOUR work, lololololol!!!!!!

Have a lovely green-tinged day, oh jealous one.
The premium is sm
275.00 for family per pay period. You won't be paying 1000.00 for family coverage. The yearly deductible is 1000.00, and these are both stated very clearly in the paperwork. Go back and re-read all the paperwork. Right now, you pay 213.83 per payperiod for family coverage.
It could be to keep the premium in the SM
same ballpark as it was.  I know TransHealth just changed from Blue Cross to another company because they couldn't keep the coverage without the premiums going way up (and they are in Tennessee also).
They pay 25% of the premium. nm

It's $1000, and you would't believe what the premium is. nm

What is the single premium?
I was checking out their website last night and going to sites trying to get some feedback on the company, looks promising.
Anyone know what the single premium is for
nm
They would have to pay a premium for STATs.
just have 24-48 hour turnaround. Whatever platform the hospital has, all they have to do is make sure their IC's have copies. The dictation would get to the IC electronically, just as it does with MTSOs.

But the gray areas aren't really what I was talking about. What I was wondering was, how many hospitals or clinics would want their work 100% Indian-transcribed? Especially if a bill were passed so that patients had the option to say whether their work was offshored or not. I know I, as a patient, would rather my op report or H&P were being typed by an English-speaking, accountable, AMERICAN independent contractor, than in some lawless foreign country 6,000 miles away.
About money, line rate is one thing, but hourly figures are another sm
Traditional: 8.5 cents per line. Top out at 225. $19.25 an hour.

Speech: 4.5 cents per line. Top out at 500. $22.50 an hour.

I split between the two and right now, that is running $700 a week or $36K a year. Not a huge salary, I know, but more than I made 10 years ago.

Could I push harder? Sure, but I don't need the money because I have structured my life so that I only need 1/2 my income to live on and I live alone. I like the part about not being exhausted on my days off, about being able to give up a terrible PT job, and having time to paint AND be able to have expensive, high-quality art supplies.

I am happy as a clam and I do not think that VR will take my job!!!! My only worry right now is that my painting is taking off with art shows, commissions and internet sales. I won't be able to work full time as an MT if this keeps up, and I know it will. I love being an MT and when it ends in favor of my artwork, I will be joyous over one and very much saddened over the other. It is and has been a wonderful career for me.

Premium Business Services
Anyone working for Premium Business Services?
A lot of the time the insurance premium comes out
I am not the person above who is paying those premiums, but there are also flexible spending accounts that sometimes help with healthcare.  With MT, you can supplement very easily by taking overflow or having a small account on the side.  Some people tend to take extra jobs.  In all my years, I can honestly say that I have never worked only one MT job.  I have always held a full-time job with side accounts.  I fortunately can now work full-time from home as an independent contractor, but I prefer piece work and making my own hours for the sake of my children at least for now.  I plan to maybe go back to in-house but not strictly transcription once my children are older.  Who knows what the future holds?  I think if you are a single Mom and have the willpower you can make a go of MT as long as you budget and know what is needed to survive and not just what is wanted to survive if you know what I mean.  I would never trade being at home when my kids come through the door for school for all of the money in the world.  I love it and so do they.
I think you're confusing the deductible with the premium. sm

Family coverage is not $1000 a month in premiums.

Yikes, does the company contribute toward your premium? sm
Wow, seems very high.  I've heard of $300 - $400 for a family plan monthly but never double. I know that a lot of places feel that you as the MT are saving travel, clothing, lunch money and getting a lot of perks working from home, but so are they by you doing it!  I do know plenty of people do work just for benefits though. If you're working for needed income just as much as benefits though....I'd check around.  Wow again!  Company I just got an offer from (didn't take it, they're bad) offered full family bennies for just over $300/month and it was a decent plan - good co-pay, deductible, etc. But it is one of the bigger MTSOs.  If it is a smaller one, they may not be contributing, just offering it to you.  It is possible to find one that contributes monthly toward your premium.
