Why is transcend advertising for help. No work is the story for 3 or 4 weeks.

In 2+ years, never been so low in work, even with secondary accounts to try to go to. And now they advertise for more help?  Are we all supposed to go to part time?

Transcend advertising for help and slow work for you.
They will help you to find an account to keep your fingers flying. I would just hazard a guess that you might have to ask for an account on another platform but your team lead is the one to help you. They are the ones to rattle the cages.
Is Transcend a good company with a good platform to work on. They are advertising.

With Transcend 3 weeks now,
so far okay.  But not passing judgment yet.  I will see when I am off my 90 day probation.  So far QA has been okay.  I'm still very slow.
I started 2 weeks ago with Transcend

At first I was totally frustrated, and ready to quit.  Now I am finally getting used to their program and it is flying.  Plenty of work.  Dictators are a mix depending on your account. They told me to cover the hours I committed to, but if I need to make extra, just do it.  I think that is pretty flexible.  I had to change my schedule the first week and no problem, just called and was told okay.  Not so bad. I may end up liking this.  Just depends on if I can get enough lines.  We will see.


I wonder why they keep advertising if there is no work. Are you doing the basic 4 or clinic. nm

Yes, I have backup accounts.  Yes, they are out of work, too.  So how many backups should I get and how many account specifics do I have to keep straight to make minimum wage here?  I understand summer slump, but this is bad, really, really bad!!!!

No work for weeks
No work for weeks, no work to make up, have 4 accounts.  Simple truth this company overhires and now I am stuck!  Unfortunately, I will have to move on.....Hey, I have an idea - Why not hire some more!
There is no way I would work for anyone who did not pay me. If I get paid every 2 weeks, then..
the first time my check is more than a couple days late, they can forget it. You can bet they are getting paid by their clients. Who do they think does the work. The MTs should be paid above all else. I would give them a date that they had to "overnight" by check by or I'd file a company with a labor board, BBB, anyone who will listen. These companies get away with it because no one stands up for themselves. I do the work that is asked of me and I expect to be paid one time. No one should except any less than that. Good luck to you and nail them right where they stand on this one!!

several of us will probably get warnings for not making line count this pay period. What amazes me is that they've got an ad out today. Makes me wonder if things are going to get worse before they get better.

I agree with the other poster. Futurenet is great! They are very respectable. A lot of working is going to SR now though. That is the only downfall I have for them. But they work with you on everything! If they offered benefits, which they don't, I don't think anyone could beat them whatsoever. Pay is ontime EVERY time! Excellent staff! I have been there for a little over 2 years and have thought about going other places ONLY for benefit purposes but I just can't! They are too good to leave! I will be with them as long as they will allow me to. Couldn't picture myself working for anyone else!

Yes, they offer I think 4 weeks at full pay or 8 weeks at half pay. Call the office
and talk to them about it. You wont lose your job. They aren't like that.
I think ill prescribe 75 mg of Effexor.. 2 weeks off of work...for everyone!
And, possibly shed some light here. After seeing some of these posts, reading through many ads, and speaking with recruiters, and being knee deep in seeing some of the "mishandled, misappropriated, misguided, hypocritical, and profound blatant mistakes on reports, that are missed by QA, and mostly by some of these same Transcriptionist themselves, who are masticating
I have been with MQ Amherst now for 3 weeks and have continually run out of work. I know this has
been hashed out on here many times but my question is does anyone expect this problem to ever get resolved or should we simply expect to keep running out of work at Amherst forever. I know when they call me about the new pay plan and tell me it is incentive based I plan to tell them they better make sure we have work or their plan is a joke. What can I expect with this office and what can be done to correct it. I dont plan to have to work 8 accounts to get my lines in and have them QA me on accounts I have never done besides. If this problem is long standing and unlikely to be resolved it is time to either get out of that office or get out of MQ so I would like some good ideas and comments on this. We know it exists but what is the next step.
Why is OSi hiring new people when I have been out of work for 6 weeks?

I am statutory (or IC, whatever they are calling it now).  I have a main account and 2 -- count them 2 -- back up accounts.  I have been out/short of work for over 6 weeks.


Unless you are a full time employee, you get no benefits, no hourly, NOTHING.  I am amazed that they are hiring when they have people already trained and begging for work!!!


Don't they realize that it costs a WHOLE lot more in turnover to train a new employee than to keep an already-trained one happy?


I'm looking at other nationals now.  I've never been one to job hop, but I just can't take the time off any more!!!

Looks like I will be going to work in-house with an hourly wage. I love being home, but I can't afford to sit around and barley make a couple bucks a day. This is ridiculous! What's happening right now? Why are we all out of work. I have asked for more accounts, but low volumes across the board...

Thanksgiving is weeks away, yet no work on TransTech this morning. sm
I have 2 accounts, with no work on either.  I used to think they cared, but now I am not so sure. If there is no work now, I have to think the closer it gets to Thanksgiving, it will really be awful. 
You will be hired fast and then wait weeks or months for work...SM
You may be asked to invest in expensive equipment, likely to run out of work regularly and not have your calls returned when you try to contact them. They do pay well but the work is NOT there more than it is, so great pay doesn't mean much. They sell it to you great but they don't deliver.
I felt that exact same way and quit a job that was not work out..6 weeks and 30 applications sm

later I am a temporary employee at Walmart for 6.00/hr.  Still more than I was making at my production job but how humiliating.

vaction - quite a sweet deal ... while the rest of us are struggling with monumentous premiums (financing a newbie's love/sex life not my idea of fair play).  Many of us haven't gotten a single day of PTO, (thanks to the line requirement to meet when there is no/low work) and most of have been here much longer than 4 months.

I encountered slow to no work the weeks preceding Thanksgiving and several days after but the past
few days it has picked up. Can I ask which account/accounts your on? I think that makes a difference. Mine are part f the Escription platform. I honestly got really ticked a few weeks ago when we had no work and they were still hiring. For one, it's bad enough when we have to share some of our work with the Indians, but how fair it is to hire these poor people who think they are getting work where there is none.  It makes no sense to me either. Why not provide work to your current employees than drive them away by taking on too many new people.  
Awesome small company! Paid on time every 2 weeks. Plenty of work!
Owner is great. I would recommend this company to anyone who wanted to be paid what they are worth and paid on time!
Concerned about the low work at WebMedx over the past few weeks. Typical for this time of year?
I've not been through a summer with them before. My main account, which always had plenty of work and occasional overtime, has been low for well over a month now. I have 2 backup accounts that are low as well. In fact, all my STM's accounts are very low volume. In all the years I've transcribed, I've never had this problem in August. It worries me more perhaps since I'm ex-MQ and consistent low work was a signal of a major downhill turn for that company. Thanks.

they are taking resumes, doing testing on their web site. I'm tired of going through applying, testing, etc. and then finding out the company is a nightmar so I thought I'd check firrst
Well, they are advertising for a
recruiter so I think they need to get that position filled so they will have someone who will reply to all the job applicants they have.  Now, that is just my opinion.
Where are they advertising?

Transcend and no work...sm
I left Transcend over 1 year ago, and from what I have read here, nothing has changed except the forced VR, that I saw coming and one of the reasons I left.  The other was NO WORK, especially on the last week of the pay period.  On the weekend day that I HAD to work, I sat there and babysat my PC with NO WORK!!!.  It was so frustrating, and I was NOT one who got on and worked when I wanted.  I worked my scheduled shift everyday, all day long, and it was a struggle to get a decent line count...sometimes it was impossible because the accounts were over staffed.  I know there are slow times, but this was for the WHOLE year that I stuck it out there.  They had the most horrible accounts, sound quality was spotty and scratchy, and the dictators were awful.  The worst accounts were the ones you had to have a "faxed" copy of the patients in order to even start typing the report; had to search through tons of awful faxed sheets....ugh!!   I'm sick to my stomach just remembering it all.   Apparently nothing has changed, and only gotten worse, as evidenced by the constant help wanted ads and complaints posted here.  Sure glad I got out when I did.  Flame away with "things are different", but I don't see any evidence of it in the posts I've read.
How is Transcend to work for?
I worked for MQ for 6 years and it sucked. Management was terrible. Raises were unheard of and you worked your butt off. They appreciate no one!

Are you making 10 cpl with Transcend?  If you are is that what you started at and how long have you been with them?

editing for voice recognition?  I am thinking of making the transition as my hands are tired! But don't want to make a bad move and get paid nothing for hard work.
Currently work PT for Transcend
and so far doing okay.  It was a challenge to learn Beyond TXT, but so was DQS, I have a problem learning new programs.  The people are great and they have their own forum and web site to ask questions.  No shift or weekend differentials.  You have to E mail tech, but sometimes I just call them.  They usually get right back to you. I heard a lot of negative posts about them on this site, I guess disgruntled ex-employees need to vent, but I have not found what they said to be true. It has been a positve experience for me.  They leave me alone to do my work and I am picking up speed.  4 weeks now.  I do get some hard dictators, but also some easy ones. I don't listen to a lot of the negative posts because in my experience, they are exaggerated.  I have another job and that company gets a lot of negative posts also and the job has worked out fine for me.  MT stars in general gets a lot of doom and gloom posts.  The sky is definitely not falling.
I work for Transcend and it is no
company out there.  The posts below are not true in my experience about as the person hiring was very nice to me and not rude at all.  Please do understand, though, that every account they have they hope to get on VR and pay the MTs half per line what they are making doing MT, because it is expected your production will double on VR. So if you like doing VR and can do double what you transcribe, this would be a good company for that person. In the meantime, they still have plenty of regular work. Hope this helps.

to others I have been on.  Also, all accounts will be going to VR in the near future, so if you like VR at half your line rate, go for it.  Otherwise I would seriously think about this one.
All Transcend work going to ME
If you want to do MT, be prepared to being switched to ME in the very near future.  This company wants all accounts on VR.
What is Transcend like to work for? How about MDI-FL? They both sm
talk a good game, but it sounds like a sales pitch and I want to get some honest opinions before leaving MQ.
