Worn out!

I have run out of steam! I have sent resumes and tested until I go to bed at night with an 800 mg ibuprofen headache. These companies are probably getting hundreds of applications every day and most likely will never reply. Each company I have taken a close look at off shores to some extent. The ones who do not at this time could sell their business in the future to one who does. This may just be a hard reality we may have to choke down, if we still want to work in this profession. My work today at MDI (or are we Transcend now since it is 09/01) is pretty good. I see here on the board that some are saying the same thing. As much as I will probably get bashed for saying this, I am going to wait and see what happens with Transcend. Maybe they are not going to be MDI to work for, but then again, who will be? No one that I can see so far having been out there looking now for days on end. Before I cut and run, even if I had a place to run to, I am going to stop, take a deep breath and have some faith that this may work out. It sure beats the anxiety and insomnia that I am dealing with now. And, now I know I will be tarred and feathered for this post, so let me have it while you have the chance! LOL!

worn out
I would send in my line count for what you have done, and be thankful that it didn't work out. She sounds like a flake.
I am right there with you, worn out!
Headache and all. BUT, I am still actively pursuing other work and have some responses now finally. But now too, with FEAR that I will make the wrong decision. I know that no one else will likely pay as well or give the flexibility, so am even considering going back to employee position, which I do not relish. And there is that part of me that says, well, I COULD ride this pony as long as it still has legs, ie, until they make my accounts into VR or until they drop my pay otherwise too far. The thing is, that I DO NOT TRUST Transcend or even our MDI counterparts anymore. And I don't want to feel like a blinkin idiot for having gone forward with them to willingly get screwed down the road. thanks to the stress, I am eating myself silly. So much for that progress too. Hope it all goes as well as possible for us all, whatever we choose.
Having worn your shoes,

I feel your pain.  I've worked for a couple of companies that went offshore, also.  In one I was transcribing Social Security disability evaluations.  Those went to the Philippines.

Picture this:  Your full name, DOB and SSN, as well as details of all your physical and mental disabilities, going to another  country,  potentially to be stolen and used by identity thieves.  The US government contracting to have its work done by a company that sends the work to a foreign country.

Inconceivable to me at the time.  Still makes no sense, but then I'm obviously not management material.

Yeah. I'm the old worn-out mare

who's only been there about 8 months, haven't earned a minute of PTO yet,  and the newbies are making more for doing less.  Wouldn't surprise me if they get instant PTO, as well.

So much for treating employees fairly, huh?

You really need to take a chill pill. I figured you'd be worn out from your rants below. nm
