Wow it sounds like a great situation

If you could make it through to the first check or if you have, if you can, I suggest that you put half of each check in checking and the other half in savings. Then, pay yourself biweekly. Be strict on yourself no advances because then in your mind you will think you have suddenly gotten a great windfall, only to find in 2 weeks you are not paid again. Sounds like you have a great situation this MT certainly would love it... but like you, this MT would have to be very strict after making it through a long month with no check, and then only taking half of that to put away in savings. Good luck on the project to do this. But in a way, it evens out and if you can learn to do it, you will be happy, your production will go up and maybe you will end up a paycheck or money ahead of the game so you can give yourself a raise! :)

Sounds like my situation. And add to the the
fact that the QA'ers dont seem to be able to agree on anything, and the account specs change DAILY. I've gotten to the point where I pretty much ignore 80% of what the emails say, and just try to get my lines in the best I can, and let THEM sort out what is and isn't 'correct' or 'account specific'. They don't pay me enough to deal with all that crap.
Hi! Sorry for your job situation. Sounds like the
slinking back to MQ as well.  You know what they say about the enemy you know versus the one you don't.  Just to try to save you heartache, I know that lack of work has been a recurrent problem with KS just based on these forums.  I have no personal experience with them, but I know many post on here that this happens all too often. Things have been quiet in that regard for a few months, so either the situation straightened itself out or the KS MTs have been warned sufficiently against whining posts.  Could be either scenario, but at least I wanted you to know that it has been a common problem in the past with KS.  Best of luck to you wherever you land. This is a far too common problem for so many of us and it stinks. Its so pathetic when you can't afford to change and try a new job, but you can't afford to stay with the one you're with either.  Really stinks.
Sounds like a win-win situation! Good Luck!
x
Sounds like my situation, same scenario, first monday, then wednesday, now???
I would quit with no notice. I have begged and pleaded with the company and I cannot continue to go unpaid. I have bills to pay and a family to support. It is unfair and unjust. Just my 2 cents.
That sounds great. I am having
trouble finding their E mail address.  Could you please give it out.  I would apply there.
Sounds great
Lets go together!!! LOL!!!
That sounds great !
Thanks for the info. I will do a little more research on them and maybe after the first of the year, I will contact them. This sounds like just what I want to add to my other MT job. The flexible part is what I like !!! Anyone on here work for them ?
Sounds great
Thanks for the info :-)
Sounds great to what some say others
x
But their web site sounds so great...
And web pages are always truthful, right?
Sounds great now, but sooner or later..SM
the technology will develop to the point that it can do all of it all on its own. You probably won't even get a thank you card for helping them put the technology in place and keep the work load current while they worked out the kinks to get to the point where they don't need most of you any more. It will turn out to have been a real cheap buy for them in the end. A little bigger piece to you now in order to ensure they eventually get the whole cake. Such a deal!

If the format is in place for use of VR, why not demand they just give it to you and let you use it to get it right the first time instead of having to take the time to fix it for somebody else? The only reason it makes sense to do it this way is because of where these companies eventually see it taking them, which is to a place that does not include us.
TransTech sounds great
It sounds like I'm getting a good deal then. I've been working for Cymed for the past 9 or 10 months and have pretty much been happy, but I heard that Transtech was one of the better companies out there, so I decided to apply yesterday, and this morning I had an email telling me to call them, and they offered me a position right away. I didn't even have to take the test.
This sounds great. I would love to do mostly OPs. SM
Was that by your choice?

I think everyone's experience at work is different, and it is easier to be negative than positive.
Sounds like a great place, but I wish they
straightened out that I have been reading about here for months and offer some PTO the first year. Everybody needs at least a day or two for illness, child illness, or just some R and R within a year's time. Also wish they hired part time to start out. Oh well, maybe someday as it does sound like a good place to try out.
That is just wonderful. Great. Sounds
xx
Sounds like you have a great VR account

but very demanding management.  Just like you wouldn't work for companies where the VR is really bad, I wouldn't work for a company that demanded I not erase and retype.  They're already cutting my pay...I'm not going to stand for them telling me I need to lose more money by doing it their way only, especially if the end product is the exact same.

Thanks! Axolotl sounds great!
I just sent in my resume for Axolotl. They sound great. Just looking for steady work flow, dependable and accurate paycheck and a little bit of respect in turn for the same. Thanks again!
Sounds great! The problem is, I have been looking for 3 months - sm
And cannot find a company like what you are describing. Why aren't you willing to name the company? Do they not have enough work to go around?
Would you have to do some in-house training first? Sounds great if

Sounds great! Is it Word-based?
I am totally clueless about it!
Sounds great there...I was looking at their website just last week (sm)

don't know if they are hiring though..but can you answer 1 more question?  Re weekends: Do you have to work every weekend or maybe 2 weekend days a month?  TIA.

Sounds like you work at a great place
That seems like a much more reasonable line rate for VR, 0.065 - correct.  A lot better than the 0.03 0 0.045 that most offer.  Would it be okay to ask who you work for?
Wow...now that sounds great. I hate using my PTO for holidays ...not fair/nm
xx
Sounds great as long as you are a fast learner
Keystrokes must be a great company or landing a a lot of new contracts hiring all of these people.
I'm newly hired at EtransPlus. Everything sounds great
I am SO ready and willing to sit and work my hours and get in my lines, because I've been looking for a good, dependable MT job now for quite a while. I have an IC job, but the work isn't there all the time & I've fallen behind in all my bills, including rent - so it's a relief that I found something at this point.

What I'm worried about is if my employ at eTransPlus will end up just like all the other companies I've worked for in the past, lately the past few years, where the work dries up and I'm left looking for MORE work again. I'm SO TIRED of this! I just want to sit and work but can't find reliable, steady work for some reason.

I'm stressed out, poorer than I ever was, and really getting too old for all this.

I guess I'm just venting because I'm so worried that this is my last shot at some kind of steady work, and if it doesn't work out as far as work flow, I'm really up the creek, seriously. Too stressed out.

To ex eTransPlus employees, what made you quit? Did you have enough work?
This company sounds great, but they don't accept satellite users. :(

Other than that, from what I can see, they provide equipment/software, etc.  Sounds like a really great company.  I would apply if they could look over the satellite situation. I have had no problems with three other companies using satellte.

Sounds Great.. I have renewed faith but I didnt really doubt they cared..
They are pretty great to work for..
Webmedx fits that bill, great company, great benefits, great pay and always on time. NM
,
Great company, great boss, great account!!!nm

sure sounds swell. Sounds like 2350 ln/day @ 4 cents/ln=$90./day
in order to figure how many line needs to be produced to make $500 per pay period. ie, how many lines an hour needed per 8 hour day --at your rate.

So say $450 a week would be $90 a day.
For example, if making 4 cents a line, need 2,250 lines a day, 281 an HOUR (to listen through and edit) to make this great wage of $90. a day FOR ALL THIS SAME SKILL, TO KEEP UPDATED WITH CHANGING MEDICAL COMMUNITY. nope Better at Jack-in-Box Pass it up.
System great, pay good, everything great, but most managers from old Edix, problems, poor people ski
when you are out of work, you are out of luck. If you are good at brown-nosing, are tough enough to be without any self-esteem, and have maybe money coming into the household on the side in case you tick someone off, then you may succeed, for a little while.

Don't ever ask questions or have problems with anything. Don't ever have a problem. Don't think you will have any control over anything you do, either.

A few 'good' managers remained when I left, but the new ones were all from the old Edix, and were completely into numbers, cared nothing for individual MTs...if there is work, you BETTER be working. If there no work, you will hear nothing, no one will help you.
You are pathetic! I have a great life, loving family, work for a great company.
You might want to fix that.

You really don't have to shout (angry person), but yes you are wrong!!

That is my last word to you!

I will add that getting a great pay check every other Friday from Medware really puts a huge smile on my face.
Oracle is great. Bayscribe is wonderful great line counts.
The trainer at OTI will always answer any questions about the platform and if you have any problems they have already worked them out, so just ask. Good luck!
YOG - Lots of work, great office staff, great money. NM
.
Loved Alltype! Great management and great accounts.
wah  -  i miss it there!
Yep--same situation for me.

I just dread the thought of being yelled at, and then probably fired, because I can't keep a schedule.  I work when kids are watching a TV show, or taking a nap, or a neighborhood kid drops in to babysit, or dinner is taking extra long so I can squeeze in a couple more reports. Like you, THAT is why I've been with MQ for almost seven years now!

I feel like crying.

I just had this same situation come up - sm
I simply explained to the company that I would rather my present employer not be contacted at this time, since they are not aware that I am looking. I have another reference, so I hope it isn't going to be a problem. But like you, if things don't pan out with this company and I end up staying where I am, I definitely don't want any problems.
This is my situation.

I am a hospital employee thinking of going national mainly due to the drive though. There is plenty of work though and when the work is low which is rare, we file, the ones that know how code, code, sometimes we can help out with Release of Info (ROI), or do other things until there is more work so you are always getting paid. Great bennies too at my hospital too, tons of PTO time that a person can cash in.

The down side is that certain ones can get away with turning in crap work all the time. thers if they make one little mistake it is magnified and made to feel like they are the worst Transcriptionist in the world. Some are allowed to cherry pick and others get stuck with the worst dictators. Also a problem is that I am in an office with newbies who don’t have to worry about production (rest of us do) and they act like children, literally. Sing songs out loud, shoot rubber bands at each other, the phone where family and friends can call on rings off the wall. I also have a loud speaker over my head where the operator comes on and says “DR SMITH call 99999 or whatever.” I don’t fit into the little cliques.  I cannot afford fancy clothes and I cannot afford to go out and eat once or twice a week, I have go to home and cook supper as I have two small children to feed.

I'm in the same situation - someone took all my
call me. I followed the employee manual and sent an email as my first step in problem resolution to my account supe (who never returns emails). And this is a new job I took because of the very same thing happening at the last one, with assurances that I would NEVER have this problem here!
Am not sure what the situation is. SM
If this is a local hospital, I was welcomed with open arms on no more than a medical terminology course, although that was years ago.  There is no better training than the one-on-one I received there.  Sometimes you will find there are people available to help you until you can get up to speed.  Even in a local doctor's office, you may not be on your own for awhile.  If you're not sure about the situation, don't hesitate to apply, and there is no need to mention your lack of experience.  I imagine it will show up on your resume, so they will know exactly what they are getting.  If you get to the interview stage, that would be the time to ask about training, what exactly is expected, how long you have to learn all you need to know, who is available to help, etc. Good luck whatever your decision.
my situation... c msg
I'm an actual full-time employee for two merged hospitals. Full benefits. also includes radiology. I went home 1-1/2 years ago. pay is 20/hr. The minimum production is 75 minutes plus 0.50/min after 80 minutes. all equipment provided including second phone line and internet connection. We do have outside vendors that back us up, but we have majority of the work. I'm happy with my position. Unfortunately the hospital itself is making cuts and the transcription department is one of its targets, although they haven't touched us yet. One of our vendors are now doing most of the work for one of our hospitals, so I am considering asking my boss to hire me as an IC.

I say take the job if you have more pluses than minuses, but remember, hospitals do lay off so have a back up plan. Good luck to you.
I don't think I would like that situation...

I think you should be able to see how many reports you did and line count for each.  I've had instances where a report I sent was missing from my total, and I would never have known if I wasn't able to get that detailed info.  I have always kept a log, also, of all job numbers to compare.  Maybe there would be some way you could check the line count for each report before you sent it and write it down and then compare the total to what shows up? but that would be a pain!

Your's is a different situation
than mine of course, and so we have different concerns.  I really do not know much about them, as the people who merged with MD-IT, who I will be working for, are very new to MD-IT (June of this year), and they really cannot give me many answers to my questions.  This is what concerns me the most!  MD-IT may be fine itself, but I am worried about the branch of it that I am dealing with.  Let me know if you would what you find out about them, and I will do the same on my end!  Good luck with whatever you decide to do!!!!
Yes, same situation here also

You don't know the situation...
shut up until you do. It is not up to supervisors to train someone how to be an MT, they are only responsible for showing them how to use the software platform, unless they teach a transcription class. Companies hire MTs that have had years of experience, like duh. These were stupid errors only first-year MTs would make and this woman had more years of MT experience than me and still made them.

It's not my responsibility to teach MTs medical terminology and spelling. They should already know.
Sad situation...

I am currently working for a company that acquired business here, only to eventually send it all overseas. I'm just counting the days before I’m given the boot...  I hope and pray that our next president makes it very unpleasant for companies who do this to Americans. What goes around comes around and you get what you pay for!  Let's see how long the clients stick around with the quality issues you will soon be faced with. I am very disappointed because I thought I was a valued employee... silly me!

It's a sad situation...
Most of us expect not to be given raises...but I think that should change. It makes no sense to be at a company 2, 5, 10, 15, 20, and so on years and never be given a raise. It doesn't happen in other professions, does it?
Never had that situation, but I was only

assigned 1 account and was told that if I needed to add to it to let them know.  I've only been with less than a year, but when I interviewed, they went over the account in pretty good detail with me.  So I kinda knew what I would be working on before I accepted the position.

Are you with MDI currently and are having a problem or just looking?

When I went through the same situation with
I called the bank with the paycheck account number and asked if a check for my estimated amount was covered. When I found it wasn't, I figured out the check wasn't simply lost in the mail and confronted the MTSO, who fessed up that things were temporarily tight. I quit immediately and stayed in contact daily until I got my wages. I do not give the benefit of the doubt anymore.
My situation
I do both ASR and transcription and never run out of work. I have two accounts, acute care. I'm not sure about the radiology side of things. I used to run out of work until I volunteered to do ASR, which keeps me busy when transcription is low. I never run out of work now.
situation
I did run out of work off and on awhile back, as we will in this biz. I have several accounts (by request) and am almost never out of work. Lately very busy in fact. Yes, they have been very good about accommodating me. IMO it is a great company. Have been there a couple years now. Biggest drawback is feeling the need to work on days off if acct is busy. As they've said, if everyone for that acct put in 1-2 hours at those times, it would solve the client needs. Unfortunately, not everyone is so conscientious. good luck.
