First Choice does.

Get out while it is still your choice. It seems like

things have gotten worse since I left. Which is hard to believe!

Not all companies are like Heartland. Best of luck to you.

OSi is by far, your #1 choice.
I have been at OSi for 2 years now.  Worked for Medquist for...um....let's see...about a month before I realized what I had gotten myself into.  OSi isn't perfect, but they sure strive to be.  Constant feedback, almost everyone has a positive attitude and loves their job.  My Team Lead is pretty awesome.  She makes my job so much easier.  Let me know how I can help you make the right decision.  I'd love to help you out in any way I can.
they said we would have a choice about
ASR beginning 10/01, told my boss I would not do ASR, guess what I am getting today................. ASR STAT reports!!!!!! Not a supervisor in the company working today that I can find
First Choice

Asked to test for this company. Is this a good company to work for, plenty of work, pay on time, etc.? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

First Choice sm

I don' t work for First Choice, but I applied and passed the test. I was contacted by the recruiter to set up an interview. The very next day she told me all the accounts were caught up, and she couldn't hire me at this time. I thought that was a little odd.

Thanks so much!

Any info on First Health. I am training tomorrow, wondering about the program they use and their accounts?  Also the staff.
First Choice
Could you please tell me more about First Choice?  I have not heard of this company until now.  TIA
First Choice
This is by far the best company to work for. Great platform, great pay, great owner and staff. I wouldn't work for any other company!!!
would be your choice obviously
personally, I don't rely too much on what these boards say, everybody has their own opinion - - I don't believe they have a high turnover, the MT list seems to be growing it you ask me, I still see the same names I always saw and communicate regularly with the MTs, not sure whree this person is getting their info - - but ultimately it's your choice. I've been around to all the major MTSOs and for the past 3 years, Diskriter has done what none of the others could, supplied me with daily work during MY scheduled hours or paid me downtime
Your choice. sm
It depends on your situation.  If you are single with no other bennies I would say DR.  If your are single and in need of benefits, tell the recruiter you want to be on a smart-source account, wherein you are actually an employee of the hospital with DR as a liason.  I made an OK living but have affordable health insurance, dental, vision, long-term disability, short-term disability and life insurance.  What I like best is our T-leader does not tolerate cherry picking.  If you are married, I say be an IC, if not you are better off on a DR SMART-SOURCE account.
TRS is a bad choice

I worked at that place for several years, they go through more changes than anywhere I ever worked.  You rarely get to stay on one account and they do not give you anything except for do more, do more.  The only way to get anywhere with that company is to kiss butt and give until it hurts.

I have to say, if you go to TRS you will be feeling like you are in haties before long.  Consider yourself warned they are NOT the employer of the year like their president and vice president would like to believe they are, they will cheat you out of your life if you let them.

Working at McDonald's selling hamburbers is a fantastic step up from TRS.

It's your choice -- use your own PC or theirs. nm

I believe it's your choice ... (sm)
I have always just preferred using the Word auto-correct as my expander, so that's what I use. There's not one built into the platform, and I think you can just use whatever Expander you want. Seems like I remember talk of some of the MTs building some stuff up in ShortCut, so I know that one is compatible.
I don't have a choice...sm
My husband is active duty Air Force, and they are making him change careers. We have a three-year-old daughter, so we have to work separate shifts. When he goes off to school for the new job, I will not have anybody to watch our daughter.

Trust me, I am terified of coming back home to work. I have a job that is a set paycheck, and I have been having problems with my wrists lately. I worry about not being able to make enough money.
First Choice
I was wondering the same thing because that was really fast.  I sent resume but heard nothing.
At least TT gives you a choice to do
With Extext (regular MT) you can look up old reports on the patients which a lot of software does not give you that capability. That saves a lot of time.
If I had a choice right now, no I would not...sm
You have to understand, I only have 2 years exp. The most I can expect to get is 8 cpl, which I do get, but it is only maybe one day a week. I went from working everyday or almost everyday at 8cpl to one day at 8cpl. I am broke. I lost my account. I need money. Secondly I know nothing about neonatal dictation, have never done it. I would need some training in that area. I can't expect them to pay me top dollar for no exp in the specialty. If I had been doing neonatal a while, then no I would not accept 7cpl. Not saying I have the job cause I don't, but I wouldn't apply if I had exp in neonatal care for that amount of money. They aren't requiring neonatal exp so I applied. They are getting what they pay for. An MT unexperienced in that area. If they want to train for cheaper pay so be it. That will be one more area I know in MT. I'll do it, but if someone offered me a position in something I am experienced in then no I probably wouldn't. If they want exp MTs in neonatal care then they aren't gonna get them for 7cpl. Again, they are getting what they pay for.
Exactly! Everything is about choice...
I knew when I chose to become an MT that there was a large possibility that I would be working weekends. I chose to become an MT. And, yes, my child comes first as well, but that doesn't have anything to do with working weekends. And for your information, my holy day is Friday, so it makes no difference to me whether I work on Sunday; and worshiping God is something we should do every single day of the week, not just 1 day on the weekend.
That is entirely your choice...
But please be prepared for nothing but VR, a massive pay cut because you're doing VR and not straight transcription, a rigid schedule, AND the fact that by working for Transcend you are, in your own small but significant way, contributing to the selling out of the American MT.

Please, think again.

Then if you can sleep at night knowing all of the above, more power to you.

Has anyone heard good or bad about First Choice Medical?

First Choice Medical .. anybody know?
I seen an ad in weeks past here.  Are they a good company? Any employees out there?  Thanks
check out First Choice-sm
I just left for personal reasons but they are a good company to work for.
First Choice Medical
Does anyone know anything about this company?

Anyone else working for First Choice
Anyone else notice anything unusual this week?   I can't nail it down, but something feels out of whack.   I was just wondering if anyone else had an odd week as well.
Amphion would be my choice
Oracle was nice several years ago but I've heard a lot of negativity about their software recently. Maybe do an archive check of this board for these companies. Lots of useful information on here.
Yes, QT, First Choice, JLG-some accounts. sm
There are probably many others out there too. I just can't think of them right now.

First Choice does, also, WP5.1. I prefer it, too. nm
xx
First Choice is great! nm

First Choice Transcription
Does anyone work for them? any feedback?
great choice
I work for Transform and use Vscript.  I absolutely LOVE it.  I have been an MT for 10 years now and have worked for 2 nationals and 3 small companies.  This is the BEST company/platform ever.  I can produce 2000 lines a day and the management/owners are fantastic.  Tech support is great too.  My computer has crashed twice in the last few months and the tech guy has been able to save me!  I can't say enough good things about the company/platform.  Good luck to you!
good choice for me...sm
I am very happy with them. Have been with them since September. I make more than 8-1/2 cpl. I do think the rate is based on the account. My account is pretty easy.
First Choice Medical
Can anyone tell me anything good or bad about First Chart Medical?  Having a hard time finding anything.  Is the platform fast and easy to use?  Thanks
Good choice!
Great company. Love it here.
Have a choice between 2 companies - sm

1st:  Good about co. outweighed by bad comments here.  Ex-Text, acute care, flexible schedule, FT status but can be done in less than 8 hours if work completed, nice pay.  CONS:  Can't talk to lead until I am in.  If holidays fall on your reg. work day, you work 'em.  Unsure of how long it will take to get lines in.  New to Ex-Text.  Don't really want full-time but that's all they offer.  Got them to at least offer flexible and can stop when lines are done.

2nd:  Very good co. way far outweighed by bad comments here.  Possible LD (unsure of exact acct at this point), SE status, acute care, paid per line, done when lines are in for the day, excellent pay.   CONS:  Must have a set schedule (per me, not them) turned in ahead of time - up to 2 months (huge con for me), work a few holidays per year.

I know I have to pick what is right for me but I do enjoy other's comments for something I might not have thought of.  Not new to the business - been around for over 20 years.  Thanks!

First Choice MT Week
Did anyone get acknowledged for MT Week?
No choice, it is assigned, & just happens to be less
presents itself, I sometimes cherry-pick as well. Especially if it's late, I'm tired, and my line count isn't what it should be.
What about First Choice Medical? sm
Nothing in the archives, is that good or is that bad? Thanks.
First Choice Medical

Have worked for FC for several years.  Small and growing.  If you are a solid MT who shows up, does the job well and care about the work you do, you should do well.

No multilevel management to deal with.  If you have a problem and want to talk to the boss, she wants to talk to you.   QA is fair and tough at times (as they need to be) - we follow the BOS with only exception when the client says otherwise.  Care about your work and you'll find quickly you have no difficulty with our QA.

We get paid on time DD.

As far as the boss, one of the finest people I've ever known, in the business or out.  She will listen to you and she will back you up when it's necessary.

As far as not hearing much on the boards, we are all busy working. Very busy.   Not every company fits every person. If you are lucky enough to find a fit with FC, I think you are quite lucky indeed.  I know I am.

can anyone tell me what platform First Choice uses. Thanks!!
nm
I'm a diehard WP5.1 too. I know First Choice
Medical in FL. still uses it, JLG has some accounts that still use it.
I think First Choice uses Word and FTP. Does anyone know

Anyone currently working for First Choice? sm
Are you happy with them? Pros, cons.
Unfortunately, you are correct. It is a choice. I know.
I can say it because I am there.

NM
Not me, at least as long as I have a choice.

You have to pay union dues and they can be quite high.  By the time you pay dues you aren't making any more money.  If they call a strike you only get paid a fraction of your pay for a few weeks.

Healthcare costs will go up because the MTSO will pass on the increased rates to the hospital, which then passes them on to the insurance companies (who will not pay them) and so the taxpayer ends up paying.

I can't see that you come out better.

Since AAMT sold us out an organization that can advocate for the MT is needed.  If one company can have a platform where you don't enter lots of demographics and you can be productive, and even at a lower line rate still make good $$, why can't all of them.

An excellent choice indeed!!!
You will not regret this move.  I've been with Axolotl for 2-1/2 months now.  You chose one FINE company to work for.  It is like no other in my opinion, a true pleasure to work for this company and the people are totally awesome!  In my total of 23 years transcribing (12 of them at MQ), my only regret is that I didn't find out about this company sooner.  Plan to finish out my transcribing career at Axolotl. I can honestly say....I love doing my job again!!  Lots of luck to you....Congratulations!!!
