Pay on time? Flexible schedule? Decent accounts?

It's usually pretty slow this time of the year and TT is no different. The new accounts
they are hiring for will be starting next month and from what I understand they will need to hire more than 120 MTs between now and the end of the year for the four new hospitals, so I am not too worried about it.
Does anyone recommend a pretty good company that is good to work for, pay always on time and plenty
of work.  I know that is asking a lot, but just curious?
I have been with co for a long time. I have it pretty good, but new
xx
I'm pretty sure it's a set schedule.
I think there are two different kinds of part-time with them though..
They want you to keep your schedule for TAT purposes but will work with you to find a good schedule
I love working there.
Nationals give at least a week to learn program. Give
xx
If you give them a set schedule,
then you are now an employee, not an IC.
No, you need to give a schedule
They are flexible though. No I don't want to spend my life looking at the computer screen, but find me a company that never runs out of work. I appreciate the fact that I can go back in later to get more lines...it works for me, but maybe not for others.
Also if you did not give a serious schedule when it was due
The place is a wonderful place to work, but you are expected to take your job very seriously. Not playtime. Jobtime.
and will the give us a schedule ? sm
according to the community page recording, for those NOT on Chart Matrix side, the rate will change as you are rolled over to this new wonderful save-the-world-you-are-still-giving-us-the-same-document-we-just-pay-you-a-heck-of-a-lot-less program.  So, are they going to share the schedule with us so we can break it to our budget (or find a new job!?)   Sure would be nice, but not holding my breath.
No, if they give YOU a set schedule you are an employee. sm
It would be the same as if I ran a retail store and hung my hours on the door so my clients would know when I am open and available. The same goes for MT work. All the company is asking is when is your sign open amd when are you closed. Now asking you to commit weekends is YOUR choice and you can obviously say no, but prepared for them to shop somewhere else if you are not convenient for them.
When you are hired you have to give them a schedule
Say you want to start at 8:00 a.m., then you have until 8:00 p.m. to get your lines in.   35 hours is considered FT, so you basically have 5 hours of play time in there.  You do have to clock in and out.
Be prepared to give a schedule and stick to it.
In my personal experirence, I was titled IC but let me tell you, if I was not signed on DURING THE SET HOURS I WAS ASKED TO PROVIDE, EMAILS AND CALLS ENSUED.

IC? Not so much. More like employee without employees, IMO.
Full time with Transtech is both. 40 hours per week and 5500 lines per week.
x
Does anyone find it interesting how companies want ICs and then give you the schedule you are to
work.  I thought by law you are not allowed to set a schedule for an IC.  Seems to me they are getting the best of both worlds for a whole lot less because of benefits they are getting out of paying and all the things the government requires.
Fairly flexible but they do like a schedule. Insurance is good. Benefits are good in my opinion.

For the past week, work has been a little slower but I think that is common in every company..some days busy and other not.

They used to give out $25 Amex cheques -- give them time. :-) nm

U.S. only, very steady work, some VR, good pay, good insurance, no PT, schedule. sm
That should cover it!
Give it time, sweetie, give it time.

My accounts were pretty decent today

I got almost all of my lines in by 1:00, which is quite a feat for hump day.  I would have finished them then but I promised my kids we'd go swimming.  My accounts were also pretty low the last few weeks, so I'm glad to see them finally picking up.  Maybe the docs really were on vacation.  Who knows?  I just hope it stays this way and I hope everyone else's work picks up soon.

Of course, I'm not putting my blinders on just yet.

Hourly pay, great benefits, schedule depends upon which accounts...sm
you are QAing.  Solid company.  Good luck!
Are they losing accounts. Do most of their accounts stay for long period of time. I have
heard pros and cons about the quality of their work.  I guess it is much cheaper than other companies can offer.
Give a 2-week notice, but work less
therefore, you will not be out of much money if they indeed do not pay you.  Also, if you leave, be well informed that you probably will not make what you are making now at any other company right off the bat.  You said you have been at this place for years, so you will have to build up your income again and pay.  Sad to say, but they probably have people who can do the job at less money now and are willing to sacrifice a good employee to have a bigger cut of the pay that they can get cheaper.  I wish you the best, but I do not think it is personal.  I believe it is business and you generate too much income away from them.  Good luck and I hope you find another good home.
OSI Part-time schedule
Can anyone tell me if OSi part-timers are on a set schedule or if there is flexibility allowed? Thank you.
Good last week - Slow this week.
I hope this is not an indication of things to come.  I am getting 1,200 lines a day but it is taking me all day to do it.  We seem to be out of work from 9-12 every day this week.  Hope things pick up after Labor Day.
has been pretty much on time for me
I've been with SoftScript for over a year and have only had my check deposited late a couple of times. It was deposited early an equal amount of times. Apparently if all timesheets would have been done on time, checks would have been sent out and deposited today.
Okay. Flex your time. Change your schedule if necessary. sm
If you have been in this business any length of time, you should know how work volumes fluctuate, especially around the holidays.
You fill out a schedule a month at a time..sm
and you can change it at anytime.  You are not required to work weekends.  The work is pooled, they use ExText.  They are wonderful!
35K part-time pretty much.

I'm lucky to work as an IC.  Hubby has benefits and makes quite a bit more than me.  However, it is difficult to make a lot if you are working for a national.  There are so many variables in this business.

I've read where people say that ICs make more than employees, and I'm beginning to think that is not true.  As far as I'm concerned, acute care should pay more than clinic, but I do clinic.  I have many years of experience (20+).  I love the flexibility of working from home as an IC though with 2 kids.  Later in life, I may think differentially.  Who knows?

I would just give my 2-week notice, state the reason you are leaving.
Sorry to hear your troubles.

Flex time requires a schedule. Crazy huh?
There is nothing to like about MQ at this point in time. So many people work there because the company needs people but the turnover of people is pretty significant. Be very leery of the pool. It is murky and will not allow you to make money because in that pool are thousands of client profiles you must read to see how to format the report before you can even begin to transcribe and make money. After you read this client profile, you may not see the client again for weeks which was a waste of your time. The speech recognition program is the worst requiring many corrections at a reduced rate of transcribed reports. No one can make real money with the disadvantages MQ gives you to worQ with.
Some do and have good accounts and fully loaded ESL accounts
Take a look at what is happening in India. For the first time, workers there have money to get themselves into debt by buying high priced items (cars for example). They now protest lower castes being allowed into universities at almost double the previous allowance. Wait until they are highly in debt, begin to feel entitled to a wage equal to that paid inthe US and then, try to form unions, get tossed out into the street and sit back with some Ben and Jerry ice cream and watch the economy collapse and all that dictation come back across the ocean. Timing is everything.
I would never give details of my own accounts

If this man is asking for details meaning names of your current clients, then he's looking most likely for new clients for himself.

No job is worth losing your own clients.  Just be careful out there.

I worked for a hospital and wouldn't care if they called them, but in my opinion just like we have to do our research with the dictators thrown at us, so do the recruiters.  JMO.

Have been running out of work all week - have 3 accounts
nm
They DO run out of work a lot, but we have been swamped on my accounts this week nm
nm
Pretty good
They are really flexible on my shift.  I am working a split shift until school starts in the fall.  But, all in all I think I like getting my shift done in one setting.  The hospital that I work has very few ESLs too.  I am happy so far.  I would recommend them to work for.
Pay is pretty good but.....
I worked for them for about 2 months (all I could handle).  The pay was decent (I was getting 8.5) but the account I worked was completely horrible.  So many ESLs that you could never make production.  They were not the nicest people either.  Not much help with problems and little to no flexibility in scheduling.  It just was not for me.  I think that there are a lot of people who like them and that is great.  It just was not the right fit for me.
Seem to be pretty good.
Benefits are decent. Family coverage is under $500. Acute care pay is good. Clinic not the best, but not the worst either. VR pay hasn't been worked out yet. Great supervisor (at least mine was). Mandatory OT was my only downfall. Overall, pretty decent to work for, though I have only had 1 other employer, so not much to compare to.
I am pretty good with the PC, but now you

What a joke!  You grow up!  My main course of duty is the content of the frikkin report and not whether or not my PC is compatible with your crappy MT software that you swear is MT friendly!  Cut me a frikkin' break!

Okay, I'm done.

What do you mean by that? She is busy with the new accounts. Give her an email
or call. I know that a few accounts use foot pedals only, so maybe ask about those. One of them is brand new, as they asked if I would be interested.

Give them a call; they are hiring a lot lately for new accounts
and are probably a little behind.
Nope...MDI-MD for a long time as well and I have a schedule I have to follow! You've got it made

Anyone know what full time is at Transtech? Lines or hours? Do they flex schedule? nm
x
I applied at Webmedx, took test, passed, and they said no to my part-time schedule.
Maybe call and ask before you waste your time like I did.
Made my line count from day 1 and off QA on FOUR accounts first week sm
Yes and it is the truth, thank you very much. I did get my line counts from DAY ONE. Getting to 1100 is easy, it is getting from 1500 to 2000 that is real work.

I would say that 2000 lines a day is DOABLE. Week one, made my 5500 lines. New pay period, have 12,000 for 2 weeks. I am shooting for 100 lines a day more each week until I hit 1500 lines a day, every day. I will then increase by 50 lines a day until I am at 1700 to 1800 every day. This is where my budget tells me I need to go.

I also work an IC position in addition to TT. I have about 500 lines a day there, just put in an hour or two, rarely three and for now, I need the money.

TT is wonderful in many ways. I often find errors from other MTs in old reports being from the month I have been there. Some are not as careful as they should be and are after line counts. I am after line counts too, but it was not my first goal, getting of QA was my first goal. That and I give a flying crap about my work! It would be good if they did audit after an MT is off of QA or if we had a system to report errors we find, but there aren't these things. Oh well.

They treat me nice and have lots of work. THAT is my business, not the way the company is run or what they do.
Amphion pretty good, uh?
Do they let you work 6 hours a day if you can get 2200+ lines a day -- instead of 8 hours to be considered full time status? If not, do you know who does?
Company is pretty good except...
for the last several weeks there has been a problem with work shortage on several of the accounts on the new platform. When you have four accounts you work on and you have no work that kind of makes you wonder. Other than that, the people are very nice, the pay is decent, and they have good benefits. For me it is just the work load issue. They say they have not overhired, but just makes you wonder. I think you made good decision, just make sure they give you more than one backup account, as I have no idea what platform they hired you for or what accounts.
What is the pretty good grapevine?
Quit trying to stir up trouble and post your sources that are so great.
Interesting. She's actually been pretty good to me
I'd follow her somewhere new if I had the offer.
For someone not trying to be a smart A, you did a pretty good job of it anyway. sm

Showing that they care means not ignoring my requests for a third account.  I have worked other places and had up to 4 accounts and when work was low, I was still able to make 2000 lines a day by bouncing back and forth between all of them.

Sending me an email ackowledging that volume is low, that the servers have down, etc., is all very nice as far as keeping me informed, but it does not pay my bills.

I wasn't asking for sympathy, but I also wasn't asking for your meanspirited retort. I merely vented here a bit, thinking (mistakenly) that I was among peers who would understand the panic that I feel.
