So problem is with the MT, not the company? You are a real piece of work.
    @
OhBrother sounds like a real piece of work, huh?
    Oy vey...........
    Piece work
Lots of professions are paid by *production* meaning you get paid for what you produce and turn in.

The problem is MTs accepting LESS THAN what they are worth, not the way with which we are paid.
What a sorry piece of work you are and

Bravo for you! Keep up the good work! You should be so proud! nm
    nm
I can't imagine a piece of work like you
    your company is doomed.
I work on Winscribe for Spheris. Its a piece of cake. sm
It shouldn't take no more than 5 minutes to learn.
Please go ahead and be proud. I am proud too! sm
I am proud to be an American too.  I am also proud to bring home a good income for my American family.  I am comforted by the fact that I always have plenty of work, never run out of work, and I can easily get 6000 to 7000 lines beyond the incentive point for even more cpl.  I am proud of the fact that I am always paid on time or early.  I am proud of the company I work for and the people I work with.  I am proud to be associated with Cardioscribes and Tonya.  No company has ever treated me better than Cardioscribes does.  I am treated with respect and kindness each and every day.  If I have any problems, they are there to help me in any way they possibly can.  I am proud of the fact that I know where my company stands and where I stand within that company.  Cardioscribes does not hide the fact that there is an Indian affiliation.  You go ahead and be proud to be American.  Your pride just means more work and more $$$ for me and my proud American family.
TransTech gets work from Dictaphone/Nuance; not the piece of equipment, but the co.

TT uses Dictaphone's WordClient and ExSpeech platforms.

Dictaphone (the company) contracts with MTSO's to use their equipment and they (Dictaphone/Nuance) *divide* out the work each MTSO gets.  That is one of the reasons for OUR VERY LOW WORKLOAD anymore !!!!  We would be better off if we worked for a company who is not Dictaphone/Nuance-dependent for work.

The very few accounts Transtech has -- mostly  overflow accounts -- are Dictaphone/Nuance accounts.  We TransTech MT's wait for Dictaphone/Nuance to throw a few jobs our way, which is NOT happening.  All of TransTech MT's are making LESS than ever day-by-day, paycheck-by-paycheck.  Heads up ! ! ! ! ! ! !

The above post is the most inconsiderate, cold-hearted, not to mention ignorant piece of work I'
Do you even have a clue as to how much one cycle of IVF costs? Try 15K to 20K and it takes on average three cycles to achieve conception...if at all. How many people do you know wait until they have $20,000.00 saved before starting a family? Get real.

Not that it's any of your business, having a child was not a mental issue for me. I initially didn't feel that it would be necessary to share the details of what led up to our infertility because I didn't see the relevance. Infertility is what it is. However, if sharing the details will prevent you or anyone else from drawing conclusions and posting abrasive half-truths, then here goes:

My husband, against my wishes, had a vasectomy when our only daughter was 3. Coming from a big family, I always wanted at least two children. Long story short: We went to Texas for the first reversal and Arizona for the 2nd (5 years ago). We spent our entire savings, which was close to 20k and both surgeries failed. My daughter prayed for a baby brother or sister every night. I had this tremendous burden of guilt because our infertility was self-inflicted. I knew she would never be a big sister or even an aunt because of our selfishness.

Infertility in and of itself is traumatic enough, but when it's self-inflicted, the guilt can be overwhelming. At least it was for me.

There, now you have the facts. However, if you find it more entertaining to post over-the-top fabrications about my complete lack of control and severe mental issues, as you called it, knock yourself out.

I have been pretty honest about my personal life and would appreciate it if you could just answer 2 simple questions.

    (1) Dou have any children?

    (2) In your opinion, do you feel that insurance companies should cover the cost of elective abortions?

You can just answer yes or no. I'm not posting anymore on this thread so you won't get any arguments from me.
    Yeah, real great company...
paying 3 cpl for VR.  What's next?  Good companies who pay 2 cpl?
It is the real deal. Back to not every company suits every one.
I have been there 2+ years and never had any problems. I make good money, have a good account, don't get bounced around, and have good management. The recruiter is very good to try and answer your questions or you can email me and I will tell you what I know.
I'll bet this one's a real joy to work for.....
    ;p
I'm sure because the work is coming back a real mess..sm
These companies think they can breeze by with their overseas MTs, and sure they can if they have enough back up by seasoned US MTs and editors. Once the proportion becomes unbalanced, and they have more overseas MTs and less US MTs, the mess will start to pile up. It really does not take a rocket scientist to figure this out. In time, it will come back to kick these companies in the rear. That's why I always say an experienced MT makes a much better transcription service owner because they would never put themselves in this situation; clearly able to decipher fantasy from reality and not just the big $ signs. I am not referring to this company, but any MT company in general.
dunno but heard they are some real witches to work for
somebody that was with them before they dropped part time positions.
At least she gave you a real reason and not just "seasonal" low work. n.m
    .
I actually have two real jobs with real benefits. sm
One is SoftScript at 10.5 cents a line, taxes taken out and PTO, insurance, the whole ball of wax.  The other is a hospital work at home job, same scenario.  They are out there.
    proud of you.
    x
Is that the one that is so proud of being run by all women?
    x
good for you, but why are u so proud of that
????????? some people can'twork weekends so good for u if you like it who cares
    Proud American
Good for you! It is also time to let the patient know where their sensitive information is being sent. We are only 5% of the world's population, and if we don't safeguard our economy and jobs, we will all be cleaning houses for the rich of the world that come here to suck up what we have left.
    Proud, not prideful!

Dell is an American company that outsources as much as it can to save money.  I didn't realize that when I bought the computer a few years ago but only found out when they made a mistake with my bill.  Then I got sick and tired of being called day and night by people who didn't understand anything I said and vice versa.

Why should I waste my time trying to decipher somebody's bad English because Dell is too cheap to hire Americans?  I have nothing personal against the workers but it is so annoying to listen to somebody mangle my native tongue and a waste of time if you can't understand each other.   If the person's feelings were hurt, well I do apologize.  It is very rude and disrespectful of Dell and other companies to fatten their wallets at the expense of their fellow Americans.  And THEY are disrespectful to the workers they hire if they hire them without making sure they are fluent enough to provide good customer service.  You get what you pay for.

MDI does not offshore. They are proud
grateful for our country and the talent it has. Not everyone offshores.
Of course they are proud of offshoring SM
...they are shameless. More and more I am beginning to believe that the tide WILL turn back to the American worker. Swings both ways, something they are not worried about. Anyone who offshores has something other than the American worker in mind. Besides, I've worked for the head honcho biscuit eater types and they appear nauseating and pompous (and that's just an impression from the tone of their emails). Good luck to Transcend employees.
Yes we are PROUD of our group & have NOTHING
    NM
And proud of it baby. Laugh is on you lol
    /
You get what you pay for.. for 1.5 cpl what do you think your getting.. high quality. No proud MT w
and of course those kinds of companies thrive on that. I mean really. 1.5 cpl.. No one with any experience or common sense would work for that!!
Yep, eyetype is quite a piece of

    just one piece of advice...sm
typing speed is the least of your skills needed.  Medical language is that in itself...a whole other language! It takes time to learn the terms, medicines, etc. It's not just a field you can jump into! As for which course is the best, I don't know, I went to a local tech school to learn! Good luck!
    It's a piece of cake :) sm
They'll even send you instructions on how to program one (good thing, cuz I lost my instructions ages ago & hadn't used mine in a long time...it was sitting in a box in the basement).  It IS connected to your phone line, though.  I have caller ID, so if a call comes in when I'm working I get the call waiting beep & when I get the chance I check my voice mail if needed.  Don't be nervous at all about using one...personally, I like my C-phone
    Piece of cake - sm
With the machine off, hit *99. Chose a button NOT already programmed, and enter 7040 then your complete telephone number followed by enter. That's it.
perhaps they both could have a piece of this board like MQ. nm
    .
and you are proud that you sacrifice quality for line count?
Too scary to be believed! Hope you never, ever, ever transcribe a report on a cancer patient!
MDI-FL/Transcend one and the same. Proud to outsource and not protect American MTs.
    We have no job security.
Platform is a piece of cake. sm

The platform is easy to navigate/use.  Workload is good.  You're given a primary and probably eventually a secondary.  If you don't have work for some odd reason, ASK!  The supervisors are more than willing to help you out.

Good luck!   I know many happy employees there.

yes, and the ones i have area piece of crap..sm
i spend MOST of my time  resetting the receiver thingy...same goes for my cordless keyboard....uggg, that is frustrating.  I think I am going back to corded.
Eyetype is proud of herself - on other posts she calls herself an old hateful bigot or
something to that effect.  I just totally avoid anything with her name in it - such a waste of eye sight.  Obviously, her husband, if she ever had one, checked out on her, and she's a miserable evil person.  Poor thing, though its hard to feel sorry for her when she's so ugly.
and if you can be satisfied with being treated like a piece of crap
    .
Tested this week. Piece of cake. As someone else
said just take a deep breath.   I am a good transcriptionist, but testing terrifies me, but I passed with flying colors and it wasn't near as hard as I feared it to be.   I've had some very difficult ones before.   I don't know if they have different tests for different types of work - acute care versus clinic, but it was still very easy.
That is like asking how long is a piece of string. No text

    You still looked didn't you.

It's called "professional pride" - people proud of the way "they" do things.
You can't win with these types of people, and I think you're right, it's trivial nonsense.  Best thing to do is leave and find a more reasonable employer - they're out there.
    Hmmm..everyone got different tests huh..Mine were over 5 minutes a piece. I didn't do them. I thi
someone is trying to get free work.
nothing but repetative phrases, piece of cake. just be easy lines.
and tons of just use my normal templates.

    Ever think of that?
how do we work it? Easy answer - work for another company. That happened with the company
I was working for. I would wake up at 4 a.m. AND ON THE WEEKENDS TOO because they needed "coverage" supposedly and I would sit until 9:30 or noon without any work. Sorry, but my rent of $1450/month could not be paid with only $57/day. So I got another job and when I got the equipment and everything, then I quit for the other employer.
Must be a small company. I have never talked to the owner of the company I work for. sm
He wouldn't have time. Why would someone talk directly to the MTSO? Most do not know (or care) about the details just the big picture.
Let me know if you pursue this company. I would like to work for a MN company as an employee?
    Let me know! Thanks!
Chasing work from company to company - Have any of you ever watched (sm)

5 year olds learning to play soccer?  The ball is in play and no matter what the coahes say ALL the kids go running for the ball.  Maybe we are like that, masses of us going from company to company in search of work.  This company has a new account BOOM here we go.  Now it is out.  Let's go here.

Yep, I think it is a big game someone is playing with us.  Not a particularly funny one either.

What is the best company to go to for IC that is a nice company to work for that has work for you
and also is interested if you want to work part time at some point.
Absolutely not! I work for the best MTSO. I am have been so blessed to work for the small company I

I will share this about the MTSO I work for.  I called her late last Wednesday night after Church and told her I was compelled to help out with Hurricaine Katrina in some way and an opportunity arose for a small group from my Church to go to Louisianna this coming week.  Would she be able to cover my work.  She told me no problem without any hesitation and even donated money for the trip.

And I am sure there are plenty of good companies out there to work for.  To compare us to migrant workers is just not right.

Like I said - it depends who you work for. I work for a hospital at home - not a company. nm
    x
I used to work for a company who separated the MTs by work type daily. sm
regret ever leaving that company. we had a max of 4 MTs typing a large training hospital with clinics. i was assigned consults and discharges with consults being my priority. another MT had ops and admits, etc. it worked so much better. we were RARELY out of TAT and each of us were trained on other report types for backup in case someone need to take off. not to mention that we were easily able to learn the ESLs because we got them repeatively enough to learn them, set up templates, etc. much, much more productive for us as MTs, for the company as work flow, and i am sure for the dictator because they got someone who knew them and their dictations well enough to be accurate. i don't understand why large MTSOs cannot comprehend how much more beneficial that would be.
