If you're extremely lucky you get 9cp. Experience doesn't seem to count much anymore. nm

I'm nobody's idol, I'm just lucky. I have terrible credit from past

financial indiscretions.  We filed for bankruptcy and cut up our credit cards and just tell ourselves how lucky we are every day that we have a roof over our heads and food on the table.  We're not homeless or hungry and that's a big accomplishment these days.

Hang in there!  Keep looking at your local hospitals for jobs.  A lot of hospitals hire MTs to work from home these days.  You might get lucky like I did.

They are lucky to have you.. You've always been forthright and honest. So, I'm not sure what
wrong but you have done nothing wrong but give us a laugh or two. I had considered them at one point because you seemed to enjoy them so this is too bad on their part.
You've got to make it past the
.
I've done that several times in the past. - sm
The alternative (insanity? suicide? homicide?) just isn't worth putting up with all that c_ _ p.
I've been happy for the past 2 years
No problems at all for me, and only getting better now with our annual raise (I know it's small, but it is something), holiday pay, more PTO, etc.
I've done this a couple of times in the past
I had specific questions regarding the platform and Expander program compatiblities, as well as how lines are counted among other issues. As the recruiter did not know the answer to these questions, I was given the name and number of the MT manager to speak with. At least one job I declined based on the manager's responses, not because I thought she did not handle the questions well, but found out enough to know the company was not what I was looking for.

On those occasions where I spoke directly to the MT manager, the companies were very impressed with my knowledge of both MT and word processing/computer issues and ended up wanting me to come to work to a greater degree than I feel they would have if I had not talked to the manager.

I don't think it would be inappropriate to ask. The worst that can happen is the recruiter says no and can't answer your detailed questions. In that case, that company is not a right fit for you.
I've made 50K+ in the past, but the variable is
What type of work or accounts you are doing. If you are working as a sub and get put on continually changing unfamiliar work, then you'll be lucky to struggle through 20K. The same person put on work they are good at and familiar with can easily make 30-50K+. Many of MT companies do not match familiarity of work and why many skilled MTs are making less and less.
do they hire clinic MTs? Seems I've only seen ads in the past

What is your favorite company you've worked for in the past??
I'm just curious if anyone has a favorite company that they've worked for and why are they your favorite?
I've had steady work the past 2 days on
my primary account, but I'm pretty sure it only has to do with people being off. I don't think there has been any kind of major change for the greater good or anything. So I'm not getting excited. I'll be back at the soup kitchen probably next week - so someone save my seat!
Those things are sometimes so wordy, it's ridiculous. (sm)
I have found that it's really quite easy to condense them into a cheat sheet for each account. Keep it right in front of you for referral. I do 7 or 8 accounts, at least 3 or 4 on a daily basis, so I keep them stacked in front of my monitor and just shuffle the papers as necessary.
I've been on OT all but 2 days the past 4 months. If work is slow
that just means we get a chance to get caught up with TAT.  Get paid for downtime too if no work.
They've used ExText in the past. Ad from 2006 said you need Word 2003. Offered 8 cpl for

Endless dribbles
I would have to say 95% of their MTs love the dribbles of knowing where their accounts stand. As an IC they do not owe us anything like that! No schedules, pay on time, hmmm... maybe you just like to be babysat (?) Remember the I in IC is for independent! Heck, ask them to remove you from their lists and this should take care of it!
They pay 0.015 cpl for QA work! Extremely, extremely low, low, low. nm

Lucky You ... I was not so lucky to work with that platform
Meditech - it was awful. I kept getting promised that my account was going to ChartMatrix, but it never happened and the Meditech system was SO slow. I loved TH, the people, etc. - so if you can get an account that is on ChartMatrix - hop on it. But, avoid the accounts that are on Meditech because I don't think they are EVER going to convert (and I waited quite awhile - couldn't take it any more).
Anyone currently with Oracle? Do they still drown you with paperwork and endless acct.

Hands down DSG - rude, ignored, run ragged on endless accounts!
nm
possibly -- it seems to have finally shut down the endless TT threads ...
I was beginning to think they needed their own board ...

I wasn't following them, but my impression is that they had been going on -- in some incarnation or another -- for several week ...

who would want to work for a company with so many so unhappy employees (even if the internet notoriously distorts just how many people are represented -- since the same people -- particularly the most incensed -- post over and over and over again -- creating the impression of great throngs of angry people)

I have no idea if TT's suit has merit ... just that such suits are not unprecedented and -- aside from unlikely-to-make-much-difference memos to their employees or public notices on boards like these -- represent the only way I'm aware of to defend one's good name.

If this served to educate the many folks here who thought that the first ammendment automatically protected them on line -- then good has already come from this.
DSG - Nasty superviser, endless account specifics changes, no support - nm

Broken promises, messed up pay, endless drama. Good riddance!

Ditto! Also add that they ignore e-mails you send and send endless IMs!

YES, extremely sad. Especially,
When you search and search and try to find a great company and you find one like DRC. Gone now. Who next? Very depressing. Time to get out.
What do you consider extremely
I work for a company and I average $20+ an hour. For my city I'm at about twice the hourly pay for someone without a 4-year degree and about twice the hourly rate for an in-house MT. I don't feel like I'm underpaid.

If you are talking about companies that pay 6 cpl or something... well, that's a different matter.
Extremely low
I agree that the people at Proscript are great (wonderful in fact), but nice doesn't pay the bills.

My work load there has been very low (to sometimes nonexistent). I have sometimes had to just sit at my computer for up to an hour or more just waiting for a job to finally come in.
Pay was okay, staff was extremely
rude, they will fire you for anything and you cannot trust them at all!! Worst company out there IMO
He was extremely rude to me when he was at JLG. nm

Extremely unprofessional nm
Are you a member of management?
That's extremely hard to believe

As of a few months ago, the pay was extremely low.

I would be extremely leery
of starting up with a company if there was a lot of negative comments here.  Granted, we have all had bad experienes with different companies and there are sour grapes out there but if there are a number of negative comments and the comments seem reasonable and not real 'anger-based' - just mostly frustrated - then I would make note of them.  We are only going to grow and stay united if we give appropriate feedback from our experiences.  If you do start with this company, just be cautious and don't quit the one you are with now unless you have a really good feeling about them.  IMHO only.
I took what I felt to be an extremely
long and involved test to be an Editor for SmartMed. Got hired but still did not understand why it was necessary to test that extensively.
extremely unorganized and this

is after being offered a position three times by this company over the past few years and each time I have been turned off by how unorganized they are over there.  I had the same experience this past week with them not getting back to me.  Then they did and told me about two positions.  I told her the one I was interested in but needed an answer about the ins.  Then they called me back the next day but she forgot why I was even waiting for the call and then to top it off was told the position that I was interested was no longer available.  This is the third experience with them.  I don't have time to tell you about the first two.  Incredible.  I have a better job offer from TT (actually to return back to them on a better account) and Axolotl which I will decide on by tomorrow, and another from Transcend which I am turning down but Transcend is right on, very organized, answered all my questions, and told me what all she had available and I picked the one I wanted, no surprises and no being left hanging, immediately sent me the ins info by email before we even got off the phone!  That is the way a company should be run as far as HR is concerned.  The two that I am deciding on also are very efficient in answering ALL questions in a TIMELY MANNER and are organized.  Debbie is great and Axolotl is very very nice and polite and immediately sent me the information I needed such as INSURANCE.  I need to have questions answered before accepting a position.  I will not go in blindly.  I have a chronically sick daughter for crying out loud and some companies did not even have the decency to respond to me on ins. so they got nothing back from me.  Oh and get this when I finally did get the ins. information from KS it was this!! http://www.geoaccess.com/phcs/po/  No information on nothing, just a provider look up and when you click on the home icon and travel your way through the website trying to find info there is nothing that states anything about what the coverage is!!

I will never apply for KS again.  Three strikes and your'e out!!

I'm extremely happy.
Have never had a late paycheck.  They just rolled out a new incentive plan that looks like it'll boost my pay.  I like my supervisor.  No major complaints.
And YOU must enjoy being extremely

That is extremely unprofessional...sm
It's also very direspectful to one of us. We are all a family of MTs here, so I take this personally!! I think you should post this up top as a separate post so everybody can see it better. They need to know about this company's baby fits if they don't get their way. They wouldn't be making any money if it wasn't for us!!!
Extremely busy... sm
It might be because they have been extremely busy with transitioning a new account.
Extremely frustrated
After three years with FN, to be treated this way is just uncalled for and very unprofessional.  Every account they put me on only lasted a few months and then they lost it, then another and they lost it, five times so far, and now told about the new account with a billion lines, ya right.  Where is it?  I have not see it yet!  Bunch of lies, all lies.
extremely frustrated indeed
Hi Paul,
When did you start with FN, as I started in 2/2005 and what you are saying is exactly what I have been told also. This new account was supposed to keep us all overwhelmed with work and I am lucky to get 1 or 2 charts PER DAY. I'm practically begging for work and I'm just lucky if they decide to answer my emails or phone calls. Ready to pull my hair out...
Wow, that is extremely impressive!
That is good customer service. We are all customers to each other, I was taught one time in a class at a hospital where I worked. That is really nice to hear.
Extremely low for VA work
Worked in VA a long time and it tends to be very challenging and very ESL. For VBC, this is a really low rate.
8 cpl without spaces is extremely low for anyone
except maybe a newbie!
There software is extremely slow. Very

long wait for report to send before you can start another, and I have cable.  Not productive.  Could never make 1200 lines per day required and that is usually not a problem for me.  Pay is on time and for the most part accurate.  People are okay to work with, except for one manager who is a "my way or the highway" type.

I am sure they work extremely hard, lol.
They are used to that from setting up their dirt houses and what not. They are used to working hard trying to fight for food scraps.
Are they extremely strict with schedules? nm

Newbies who accept that extremely
LOW amount of pay are the reason companies offshore!! I refuse to baby them.
So you are embarrassed. You are also extremely naive.

My account is extremely flexible!
Whenever I have needed time off, be it just a few hours during my shift or a day or two, it has never been a problem at all! I love it there!
