I work for one that is praised on this board and attacked on this board, depending on which way the wind is blowing.

The money and consistency are there for those who work hard.

My apologies for lumping you in with others.

Not sure exactly. We all have many backups now and short of work so we wont do you much good up
there. Are a lot of MTs leaving because of this lack of work. How do you do with those quality checks being shifted around on accounts all the time. Dont you have that QA plan up there. Well, I will have to find who to complain to if this happens because I do complain about things like that.
Work is consistent
I work at AllType and we are consistently busy and getting new accounts as well.
Consistent work

I know there are a lot of negative posts on here about MQ, but it is the only company I have worked for that I did not have to worry about being out of work. Some call it the *cesspool*, I call it a safety net if my primaries ever get low on work, and I don't have to waste my valuable time calling someone to ask for work because it is automatic if primaries are low. They also pay on time everytime and have been very flexible with my schedule, I prefer a split shift. Pay could be better, but more than some other places, and always having work available is the most important for me as being out of work would devastate me financially. As a matter of fact, it was the guarantee of always having work that made me switch to them as the national I was with previous was running out of work on my primaries too often and I had to spend too much time begging for other work. I am very happy at MQ after experiencing working for some other nationals, TT and KS specifically were fairly consistent about being out of work in my experience. I also really like the DocQScribe platform at MQ and the fact that they supply all the equipment; I no longer have to worry about what would happen if somehting went wrong with my personal computer and I could not work or afford to get it fixed or replace it. I have never had a problem with communication, my PS is great at getting back to me promptly.

The people complaining about the *cesspool*  at MQ on here are the same ones who will complain about being out of work when in actuality work is available, they just refuse to do unfamiliar accounts, thus affecting their own paycheck, never happy. Personally, I don't have enough extra money to be that picky about work and I am relieved to find a company who can consistently supply me with work. Good luck in whatever you decide and I hope you find the right fit!

Is there consistent work at MDI-Fl, Precyse, or
nm
Stay with the one that has the most consistent work available. nm

Consistent work with All-Type NJ?
Anyone work for All-Type in New Jersey? Am considering them and wonder if their work flow is consistent or are there lots of dry spells? Any other information would ge helpful. Thx.
Does Focus have a consistent work?
I've been hearing good things about Focus and just took their online test. Is it true they have sufficient work to keep you busy and will give you one or two accounts and not a jumble of different accounts?
Goodluck - consistent work? not a chance. nm
nm
Like the rest of the good companies who sold
nm
It's been pretty consistent for me, but I work for two companies and type several doctors
and even with that, sometimes it gets slow, and then when it picks up, it is really hectic.  It's so hard with this type of work to get it just right :)
It's not very good. I sold Avon for a year to supplement my MT income
and I didn't make squat. They are the worst. They shorted at least half my orders, you have to pay to ship back items that customers stiff you on. MT is better than selling Avon.
So far, so good! I've been with them only a short while, but
I'm very pleased so far.  Steady work, low to average DSL's, paid right on time, fantastic platform.  Negatives are that the do offshore to Phillipines (but haven't seen any impact on work load or type of work that I get) and paid only for characters and headers - no spaces.  Even with the no spaces, the wonderful platform makes up for it.  So far, it's great but I worked for a company in the past that yanked the rug out after a few months.  So far, no indication of that at Cymed though.  Good luck in whatever choice you make though.
Same here, nothing sold, just account is gone and no work for me sm
unless they can get more accounts to come on.
I work for them. Not sold or closed.

Short cuts go a long way with ortho. A good speed typing engine will

WORK FOR THEM FOR A SHORT WHILE

The dictators were terrible.  The owner constantly called me.  I quit after 2 week, I could not handle the constant phone calls and never got paid for what I did do...

I had a few days where work was short sm
Other than that the whole time I have worked for them they usually have more work than not. They did recently get a new large account and hired in advance of that coming up which made work short for a few days until they transitioned MTs over to the new account.  I asked for another account those few slow days and was given one immediately, so it really was not a shortage for me. The accounts are like anywhere else, a good mix of dictators, not all bad ESL, but there are some, which is why they ask for 3 years of acute care experience.  I think they pay above average, have lots of work in general.  If you are a good MT, willing to learn new things, I think they are great to work for.  Like all companies, none of them are perfect and none the perfect fit for everyone.
I was out of work for a short while earlier sm
I baked a cake. LOL
I've not been short on work at all. Plenty so far (knock on wood) lol. nm
xx

I used to work for a Tailor Made Transcription that was called TMT for short - does that sound right
x
I have heard they will have three main offices. Is there a reason Amherst is so short of work. What
is it they are trying to accomplish. They must be losing MTs if there is no work. No the new ASR rate is not out yet. If it goes low you will see an exodus off ASR I guess so that will mean more MTs on the regular work. It will be a big shock for some of them to see what that is like now.
Prior complaints of low work loads and only short reports, so struggle to get lines. How about
s
Was there a short time last year. You work as an employee, not IC. Different software/diff. accts.
s
I personally can't sit for 4 hours at a time. I work 2 hous, sign off and take a short break.

It might just be fixing something to drink or starting a load of laundry.  If you did something like that then you wouldn't have to worry about a disconnect and possibly losing a report.

This must be a consistent problem

As an IC you don't have to give notice if you are leaving and Tonya should know this.  I stayed through two pay cycles and that was ENOUGH.  You have to beg and continually ask to get paid so your situation is not unique.

I think a big part of the problem is it comes from India.  I left right after we received a notice that the line count function did not work and that our lines are counted manually.  Why was the line count such a big secret?

A growing company is one thing but pay is another.  Pay should not be contingent on growing

At least one thing with SS is consistent . . .
You can always count on this clown to show up being rude and obnoxious!  Seems like upper management has a lot of time on their hands, doesn't it?  Seems a little odd, they're the ones ALWAYS running ads looking for MTs and most of us have our choice of jobs when we start looking.  What's wrong with that picture?
The best co. ever! Good work, good people, good pay, good bennies.
x
Exactly! MTSO needs a consistent IC that she can count on. Take off now and then but you
:+
Fast Chart is Consistent
I have been with Fast Chart for about 10 months. You're right. You do start at the bottom, but rapidly move up. They do pay for all headers and footers. There people are great and completly honest.
Is this consistent 3000 lines per day
I have hit 3200 lines on a secondary ER account, but not on a consistent basis because the work ran out.  This was also working overtime on a VERY easy account with very good normals.  It is my understanding that this account no longer exists.
I meant a consistent workload.
Sorry, it's been a long night at the computer. I should have caught that.
Are there any companies with consistent workload?

No matter how many accounts I get, there never seems to be enough work and now, with the holidays almost here, all of my accounts are picked bone dry.  Bah humbug.

The download speed is not consistent, can be as slow as

dial-up at times.  I had it for a year so I know.   Satellite is also not secure, so if company is 100% compliant with HIPAA satellite would not be allowed.

I had lots of problems with my satellite, though I was never without for more than a day.  Customer service was the absolute pits.  They have since updated some of their equipment that is suppposed to eliminate some of the issues.

I AGREE COMPLETELY! I'd rather be paid a consistent, respectable hourly rate
nm
I'm with them. Good work environment, easy accounts and I'm making really good money. nm

Does anyone recommend a pretty good company that is good to work for, pay always on time and plenty
of work.  I know that is asking a lot, but just curious?
Is Transcend a good company with a good platform to work on. They are advertising.
:
U.S. only, very steady work, some VR, good pay, good insurance, no PT, schedule. sm
That should cover it!
Sold...

Even with their financials still up in the air? How could a company do due diligence to make such a large purchase?

What regionals offices were told? CSC's or what? Got anymore info?

Lee sold? yah...........nm
:)
sold
makes my stomach hurt

MQ being sold
I have only heard through the grapevine (pretty good vine though) that they will probably file chapter 11, be sold and restructured
I sold out...
When I graduated J-school all the jobs at newspapers paid basically minimum wage - I called a temp agency one day to see if they had any jobs (I had registered and done temp work previously for them) and they said a family practice needed someone to do medical transcription. I told him I had never done that but he said "Well obviously with your degree you know about language and grammar, so go ahead." And THAT is how I got into MT - no training or school whatsoever! This was 1993 - not sure if that happens these days. I decided I liked making more than minimum wage so I "sold out" - but I freelance. I'd say if U have freelanced U are certainly NOT a "wannabe" - congrats!!! U don't need a journalism degree for that - just talent, which U obviously must have!
MQ Being sold

Being out of debt may help them in regards to a buy out--they may be out of debt but they have huge lawyers fees being paid yearly for the 5 or 6 lawsuits,( this number is staggering and growing every day) none of which are settled I believe at this point but they are still closing offices and clearly stated in their fiancial report that they had lost money in the first half of this year and expected to continue losing money in the second half of the year and would still be closing offices and eliminating office personnel so maybe they are clearing out the fat to look more attractive for a buy out.

why does every MT have to be called and why are we all getting individual packets?? something is not right

who got sold to who
Forgive me for being slow, but I am really confused about what you guys are talking about.  Did DRC get sold to this Acusis place?
Actually they have been sold to Ny-Dox but are still SM
making calls to generate business.

If one of the office people or management told you they would not sell, why would you believe it as we have already been told so many lies? They have indeed been sold, and it's been a done deal for over a month now - prior to the loss of the big account.
Heartland sold
HIS employees - watch your backs - they have sharp sticks to put into your back while smiling to your face!
That doesn't mean it was sold...
there are many reasons why the accounts/offices are going through closure/moving.

If contracts are not renewed, then not only will the account be finished but if that is a significant percentage of work for that office MQ may choose to merge that office with another for cost savings.

All I know to believe is what they have told me.
YOG sold out to MQ didn't they???

No, it was USAType and she sold it anyway
Never heard of USA Medical Trans.
