With the way ICs and employees are treated in the workplace and most particularly with ICs being treated as employees I would venture to think the lines have blurred to the extent to the UC reps know the gig now and are more lenient to the people applying for the UC insurance. You have nothing to lose by applying.

TO THE ABOVE RECRUITER: Thank you for your post. Many times I have called transcriptionists back with jobs that I have heard about that I am not recruiting for but I thought they might be great for. I do not get paid for that - it might not even be a company I've ever worked for - but I do it because I feel that this might be ideal for a particular transcriptionist that I had spoken to in the past, i.e. particular needs/situation, etc. And in the past, the transcriptionists have referred other transcriptionists to call me, and I appreciate that.

TO THE TRANSCRIPTIONISTS - I will even say this - in some of the people I have spoken to in the past for recruitment, I have been told about things they did not like about the company I am recruiting for. Again, to all of you, I keep that very confidential that you told me, but I do tell the company that "this is the feedback I am getting from transcriptionists about your company." I tell them all the good and the bad about all the companies I hear (I just don't mention the names).
Additionally, I think it was great sm
you came on to clarify as you definitely boosted the original posters credibility in reporting on this particular issue.  I'm assuming you are a recruiter for this company?  If so, maybe you should be reported to your management for the childish replies and posts?  If you are management, then oh brother, in addition to the pay issue, that just cinches it - stay away from this company.  I do find it ironic that other posts with different names with similar attitude have shown up this morning suddenly.  Shame on you.  Why not leave well enough alone.  You have a pay policy in effect and that is your right.  If you were trying to hide that policy, that is NOT right.  An MT bringing it in the open is NOT defamatory.
