I still prefer transcription to editing. I think for editing to really take off, they need a different set up. As a transcriptionist, I type while I listen. I've found in editing that I am having a hard time getting into the flow with connecting and disconnecting the cursor. Don't know how many times I've had to cntrl-Z perfectly good text that I accidentally erased while trying to type and listen at the same time. It's easier when I stop the voice entirely to do the corrections but certainly not speedier. Wish I had a foot pedal for toggling the connected cursor off and on.


Also, in a perfect world, I could hang on to the mouse with one and and do all the typing with the other hand. Perhaps editing is easier for newer transcriptionists. I've just being doing it the old way for too long now. Sigh...
