but that still takes time to copy/paste

This company prob charges their client the same rate for the entire report; everyone is feeling the crunch!  So, let's hit the MT's pocket; I'd pass on companies like that.

Any company will leave you alone if you do your work, so that's not a plus!

Copy and Paste....

I have a few of my own standards in MS Word that I will copy and paste into Meditech, but I find the tabs do not translate over to Meditech. Do you have this problem as well? It is aggravating because I have to fix these when I go back to the Meditech screen

thanks for the copy and paste--sm
but latest and related are not the same thing. all I am seeing are posts that were placed after mine and nothing in relation to the original post questioning the company. sorry again.
copy/paste is against the rules.. we were
from the onset to NEVER EVER copy and paste. If you are doing this you should stop it soon before they figure it out and you get in trouble.
If I had to copy & paste my IM to an email...

...because I needed a conversation documented, I would do it.  I would find a way.  Even if I had to get a disposable camera and take a couple of darn pictures of the computer with the IM on it.  LOL!

By the way, what happens if you doin't respond to the IM?  Are you an employee with the co?  No co. would make me do IM, but that's me.  What is the co. so concerned about that they don't want something documented in email???

Should I attach or copy and paste
the questionnaire and resume into an email when sending them back to Webmedx? No preference was given.
could you quickly copy and paste your document into another? then
you could just keep adding on the lines in each document to your own master document for the day. Then you would have a line count for the day. I bet you could write a macro to do this.
Put them in auto-correct - copy and paste. Quick and easy! nm

I googled labor board. Copy/paste in address bar
May have to key in either your state or company state not sure which or maybe both.

No special software. Just copy and paste the report you typed to Microsoft Word on your
computer. Under the Tools menu, select Word Count. Characters are listed with or without spaces. Take the total of either and divide by 65 to get your line count. Then match that with what your company is giving you for a line count.

If you don't have Microsoft Word, then you can download a free trial of Abacus line counting software from the internet.
Wilma reincarnated. Cut and paste same response. Cut and paste. nm

Here is a copy of the owner's post the last time the help-wanted ad was listed;

I would like to comment on your posts, as it is my help-wanted ad you are discussing.  I have attempted to put as many details into my ad as possible, in order to answer all possible questions anyone might have before applying.  My ad is not meant to be overbearing, rude, or pushy, but I realize it might appear that way to others because of all of the fine details I have written into it.  I have amended the ad many times over the years due to certain situations that have occured.  The part about if you love animals is due to the fact that I had a Transcriptionist working with me, who later told me that she did not like animals.  Since she did not like animals, it reflected in her work, which is probably because the work did not hold her interest.

I have read a lot of really vicious posts about myself and my company, none of which I feel are justified.  I am sure I have hurt some feelings when returning test results and when informing others that they do not appear to be compatible with the current position, but I have always been diplomatic in my emails and polite when conducting phone interviews.

I would like to set the record straight and let everyone know that I do NOT send out real work, hoping someone will do my job for me.  When I test someone, they are typing actual dictation files, but the reports have already been typed and returned to the clinic.  When testing potential applicants, I only send out two small dictation files at the most (sometimes only one), and the person below is obviously confused, or is blatently lying.

Also, regardless of what some people might be saying/thinking, there are at least four new clinics that open each year.  In the past six years, I have had five people leave their jobs voluntarily for their own personal reasons.  My newest ad is posted because I have been short-handed for some time now due to all of the unexpected clinics thrown at me and because I recently had a transcriptionist pass away unexpectedly.

I personally take the time to train each new person, and I can only handle training one person at a time because I have many other duties during the day, such as invoicing, payroll, emails, phone calls, typing the work from my own assigned clinics, etc.  It takes at least one month for each new person to feel comfortable enough to go on their own with the work, so I am constantly behind on getting all of the clinics covered.  As soon as one transcriptionist is out of training, I post my help-wanted ad and start all over again.  Believe me, I would like nothing more than to hire someone and put them on their own right away, which would make my life a lot easier!  However, the vet group I type for is very picky, which I can only blame on myself because they are spoiled and accustomed to having things done a specific way.

I could write a book in trying to defend myself and my company name, but, unfortunately, I no longer have the time to chat with other transcriptionists like I used to do years ago.  My main reason for posting a response is because I realize these posts will remain on the board for a very long time to come, and I am hoping potential applicants are not deterred from applying because of what has been posted at this site.

It takes time but can be done
First find where your templates are kept by clicking on Tools, Options, File Location where it will show you where your templates are stored.

Open your template. Click on Format, Style and then Modify then Format then font. After you modify the font size to what you want, click OK. Now you are back to Modify Style and check apply to template.

And I'm sure that's clear as mud! Good luck!
too much going in and out.....takes up too much time.

It takes no more time at all

to behave in a respectful manner towards anyone - no more.

I think the problem is communication through e-mail - cowards hide behind it and spew out orders in a way that they never could face-to-face.  Ahh, power!

The cowards are given no rules for sending out e-mails to the people they - the cowards - consider their employees.

Gheesh...so ridiculous
Did my time card too, takes a while. (sm)
I have been keeping my logs of job numbers and in and out times/total lines in a spiral notebook and then transferring them to a template for time cards on the computer and attaching to E-mail. There has to be a simplier way. I spent 45 minutes this morning getting this all done and totalled up.

All suggestions welcome.
this editor takes the time because...
that's what I've been told to do and if I don't take the time to add those apostrophes, then the docs want to know WHY.

Not all QAs make changes just for the fun of it or because we've got an overwhelming desire to find something to correct. We do it because we have a boss too and if we don't do things the way the client wants it done, then that client goes to our boss, who in turn comes to us to find out why we're not doing things the client's way.

It takes just as much time & knowledge, and in
many cases can be much more time consuming. The only reason it pays less is so the MTSOs can make a larger profit. It s*cks and is a rip-off for MTs. You have to do basically triple the number of lines to make the same amount of pay as regular, and that's impossible to do. You can't listen to reports at triple speeds, and even if you could, it takes way too long to make all the corrections of that ASR mess.
No way. It takes just as much time in many cases
to do VR as to do straight transcription, so that would be about 1/3 of regular pay for the same amount of work/time. THAT'S RIDICULOUS! We have to stand up to these companies. I wonder how many charge the client the same amount but just cheat the MT?
If an MT takes time to go through the testing process...
MTSOs should take the time to respond, even if it's an auto-response, letting the MT know that either they did not cut the mustard or that the position was filled already. It's the decent thing to do. That's the benefit of computers. It's not the personal touch most would prefer, but it sure beats sitting around waiting for an answer.
Takes a lot of time to hear back
I was job hunting in July and had the same experience, no responses. It took weeks to start hearing back, then the responses started coming in. I even got some responses 2 or 3 months after applying. It just seems to take a long time right now. You have to be very patient.
ASR editing takes just as much time & knowledge, and in
many cases can be much more time consuming. The only reason it pays less is so the MTSOs can make a larger profit. It s*cks and is a rip-off for MTs. You have to do basically triple the number of lines to make the same amount of pay as regular, and that's impossible to do. Now, if you're referring to QAing, that's a whole different thing. It's MUCH more stressful than MTing & takes more experience, so I've never really understood myself why the pay is lower.
Less than a month. You will get it back, just takes some time coming

Neither. You can copy into Word but cannot copy back into Emdat.

Did anyone ever tell you why no cut/paste? I always want to know why. sm
But I'm not going to be able to continue working for them, since they just don't have enough work during the time I have available, so it won't be a problem.
I am trying to paste...

My resume in the Transtech application form.  I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to do that?

Thanks.

Cut & Paste why?
I have been curious about this for a while.  Why do companies need us to cut and paste our resumes into an email rather than attaching them.  9 out of 10 companies on MTjobs request this and go so far as to say they will DELETE emails with attachments.  Anyone know or have a guess?
Info is obviously a cut and paste.
Anyone could do it. Why would OSi stoop so low?
going to cut and paste your post
because everything you have said is so very, very true.  I don't have 31 years of experience - but I do have 25 years of transcription/secretarial experience and 12 years of MT - so I have a little bit of an idea what I am doing - and you are so right - if you cannot at least bring in $100 a day - why bother?  I am at that point too.  I am doing SR for 4.5 cpl now - but have something else in the works - it is my very last straw.... so not giving up quite yet.  I am so very, very sorry for what you have gone through - know you are not alone - not sure what can be done - but you are not the only one in this boat!!
I posted a cut and paste of what sm
they sent me and it clearly states that you are hired as an SC and then are offered SE status.  That's pretty clear.  My question is why would they hire you as SC status, tell you when to work and then offer you SE status?  Pretty fishy.  I understand you don't like the comment I made about being pimped out but I don't know what else to call it when folks accept this practice of working as an SC being told what and when, paying double taxes and putting up with this stuff.  your just handing your hard-earned money over!
I use Meditech and don't cut and paste
and it's fine for me.....we use Word inside Meditech so I have all my macros and stuff.

Can't bring up the article - could you cut and paste - sm
it so that we could read it??
Thanks
When you paste a resume on the Job Seekers
or does it print correctly on the recruiter's side?
Just paste it and let it go. They're looking for content, not format, when ....sm
...the resume is sent via a web contact form. If you are a good MT with good qualifications, they won't care how it's set up, but do make sure words are spelled correctly. That's a huge bugaboo when I read resumes.
Highlight all the text you want to paste and right click
your mouse.   You should get a list of options, one of which is copy.  Select copy.  Go to the page you want to paste your resume and right click your mouse again.  Again you will have options, one of which should be paste.  Click paste and there is it.    If you right click the second time and you don't get paste, go back through the above steps again and copy again and then try paste.
Cut & paste. They expected us to type in Word and

You will not be able to copy those from a MQ
computer. Believe me, I tried EVERYTHING! My husband is a computer whiz and said they have some kind of lock on their system that you cannot copy or transfer to another computer, sorry, but like me, you'll just have to redo your expander, I know it's crap, but you'll make yourself crazy trying to copy it, cause it just won't happen.
copy typing
What exactly is copy typing? Just curious. Thanks
Did you ask for a copy of the test?
Just curious.
Look at the copy of the fraudulent
resignations email that you received:

WHAT is written in From:......?

WHAT is written in

Doesn't this give you a clue?

Can't you use this as evidence that it is a fraudulent email, NOT sent by you???

I'd ask to see copy of occup or county...nm

I'd like to see a copy of a letter sent to clients ...
The letter would explain to the client/doctors that MTs work from homes all over the country and we may not know the names of streets, towns, landmarks in their communities. The letter would explain how docs and MTs could both save time if the doc would move his/her lips when speaking, and would speak at a reasonable volume and pace -- not super-fast, and not stop and go while shuffling papers and talking on cell phones. The letter would describe (in a sweet, informative way, of course) that MTs are real human beings and that dictation is not transcribed by magical machines on the other end of the phone line. And then, I'd like to hear all the docs say, Thank you at the end of their dictations and say, If there's anything that I can do to improve my dictation technique, please let me know, and actually mean it!
Maybe they can supply you with the right copy of word.
