U.S. only, very steady work, some VR, good pay, good insurance, no PT, schedule. sm
That should cover it!
Good pay, steady work?
I was considering applying but don't want to jeopardize my current job.
As far as I know, IC only. Very steady work flow. Pay is good and on time.

Great lady to work for.

I'm with them. Good work environment, easy accounts and I'm making really good money. nm

Wow..Good luck and enjoy it !!...nm

Enjoy your good fortune! nm :)

Good accounts, great people, plenty of work. sm

I'm past that "honeymoon" stage of the first few months that another poster mentioned.  I still find them to be the best for me.  Never run out of work, always there for questions, including timely responses, great people (QA and otherwise).

I'd highly suggest contacting either your supervisor or Jane (as she offered) about lack of work.  As you should see on the daily reports, there is plenty of work out there.

Good luck & I hope it works out for you.

I do Rad for TT. Pay is good, tons of work, decent accounts. I know they are hiring a few more
Rad MTs now. I would highly recommend.
Is it good work ethic to ask to change accounts at natl company? Please SM

I work for a national company and overall I've been quite happy. However, they changed my primary account last fall, and I have been miserable since then. It is a teaching hospital, several hundred docs, tons of different rules about format, etc, that change almost daily, 80% ESL, and I am very unhappy with it and making less now than I have in the last 7 years I've been doing acute care transcription because I'm so slow on it. I get paid 8.5/line.

My question is, is it wrong to ask to change accounts? My quality is great, they are very happy with my work, and in fact have mentioned that many MTs have quit rather than do this account, and of course I realize someone has to do it. I'm so unhappy, yet I don't want to appear incompetent or a cherry picker, etc, if I were to ask for a change (which they would not have to do), and I would like to stay with this company if only I could find a way to be happy with the work, because it is a good place overall. Any thoughts on this? Thank you.

I currently work for them and enjoy it.

They only hire ICs and there is no direct deposit but I get my check like clockwork every two weeks, either Friday or Saturday.  I have never had any problems with them.  The pay is not that great but it is what I was looking for account wise.  I have two accounts and really enjoy the work, 48 hour TAT.  I have complete flexibility which for me compensates the low pay for now.

They are really growing and I would highly recommend them to you.  The last newsletter they sent out stated they were actively seeking new MTs, so you might want to apply online if interested.

Do you want to enjoy your work? If so, you know what you need to do.
It is your choice; it doesn't make any difference what others think. They cannot find peace for you; you have to take charge. Personally I love QA as I find it much more challenging.
I also enjoy QA and enjoy the mentoring aspect
as well as the contact with the clients and MTs. I feel it is very rewarding personally. I also enjoyed being an MT (I earned between $30-$40 an hr way back when but those were the days). I was fast and burned my body out by being fast. Because I was fast, QA only pays me about half of what I earned as an MT and I only had to work as an MT for half the time that I have to work as QA.

I do understand there are different personalities and if the above poster does not enjoy QA, I definitely would not care what people think. I would get back into MTing. We have to try and be happy as this job no matter what you do can be a very tedious one.
Is the work steady?
Do you work for them?
If you want steady work...
Do not go to Amphion...Constant low work and they switch from account to account to account until there is no work on any account. Not Amphion!!
I currently work for Meridian and really enjoy it
There was only 1 person that I ever had a problem with, and that was only on 1 occasion with a person in QA.   I just chalked it up to a bad day like everyone has.  Other than that, I really haven't come across any problems with the itchy office staff.
I enjoy this company. Sorry it did not work for you though. nm

Does MDI-Fl have steady work? Are there benefits
nm
at least they have steady flow of work -
nm
I'd like to know too as we can seem to keep steady work, yet we are always trying to hire more.
If someone knows why they keep hiring more people, let us know. All I can think of is that the MTs they have keep quitting due to the lack of work, it's a vicious cycle. Somedays, they holler for help, you get in there and work hard, and then the next thing you know, we're out of work. I say STOP HIRING and let the MTs you have who want and need the work to do just that. I'm so sick of the feast or famine concept there. I'm job hunting. This stinks. They obviously advertise because they cant keep good help. That's my guess!!!
i have steady work, on wav accts
with occasional lull's. i could work on secondaries, but usually do something around the house that begs my attention. All i can suggest is being able to be somewhat flexible with your hours, and/or talking to liaison about backup accts. as a last resort, a second company part-time i suppose. but in my opinion, MDI-MD is worth sticking with.
None for me either, no steady work for weeks..nm

Been at my job since March and work is steady
I work for a small U.S. company who does not offshore (and shall remain nameless, by me anyway).  You have a primary account and a backup account.  They do not over-hire so the work is mostly steady.  I am told that it only runs low around the holidays.  I'm pretty happy with that.  At least you know the lull is coming and can prepare for it financially.  My days at sitting at the computer waiting for work are over, for now anyway.
Steady work? Fairness in doling out the work?
Am so tired of crap work because I can do it, am getting burned out because of just that, crap work all the time.  One of the reasons I am looking at other companies.
I work for a small national. I have steady work, usually

extra if I want it.  I make 10 cpl as an employee, get vacation, 401K matching, PTO, wonderful QA, lots of ESL dictators but mostly decent ones, direct deposit, no IM, no nasty e-mails, no phone calls asking me to work extra day after day.   Saying that MTs are surprised at how much money they make because they have steady work even though the line rate is low sounds like a line a used car salesman would use.  A low line rate is a low line and an insult, especially since without the MTs you wouldn't be able to pay your bills.

Just because everyone else sees to be going to India is like the saying you parents would say if everyone else jumped off the bridge ....  Many companies sell out, but you don't HAVE to sell out.  You choose to get more bang from your buck but I've seen the work that comes back from overseas and I would never put my name to it.

You might can fool some of the people some of the time, but it won't fly with me.

Enjoy the same "benes" you do, work at home,
but work for a company that pays fairly, average $22-36 an hour, depending the dictators. Also get PTO, insurance, 401K, etc., and equipment furnished. I do not consider less than 200 lines an hour good output..
I work for a company that really enjoy flogging the MTs. sm

Cracking that whip really seems to send chills down their spine for some reason. We get notes every now and again telling us how badly we are doing and how the clients are so unhappy with us, etc. I have also noticed that this company has a problem with letting the MT win and that if we do something extra for them, it becomes the expected norm in the future. I must admit that I fear doing anything extra because I know that will factor into the totals I must reach for bonus pay. Also, it increases my chances to receive nasty notes from QA if I happen to get a difficult doctor. They actually had the nerve to jump on me (and it was literally a blind-sided attack) about a very difficult doctor on a report I had sent to QA that I really spent a lot of time on and just could not figure out what he was saying. Then later, they come across with these sound upgrades, and it is like night and day from what we were struggling with before. I feel they owe me an apology for that attack from QA - I really do. It was not my fault!

I am relatively new to working at nationals. Since they upgraded the sound quality, my QA percent has reached to less than 2% (sent to QA). I always do what I say I am going to do and I am exceeding line quotas, though I know it will work against me at bonus time.

My worry now is that they are mismanaging the accounts (and blaming us) and that the company will lose accounts, and I will be out of a job. I really can't work more than I work now because that makes me such a terrible person to live with. I have to have some down time.

This is a very troubling situation. Any comments? Thanks for letting me vent.

The starting is $1.08 but the work is steady and plentiful. I think the top is $1.25 but I am not s
that is just the highest that I know of someone making.
oops.. I meant that we CANT seem to have steady work EVER. nm

Did youhave steady work with Medware? Do they
nm
Many old YOGgers at FutureNet, but the work isn't steady. sm
When I was at MQ, they lost many YOG accounts, but I haven't been there in a couple of years, so I can't really speak to that.
Agree with you. If poster has steady work, that's

Needing steady work as well....email inside
Thanks! nwmt68@hotmail.com
True but I got news for ya - you aren't going to get steady work anywhere that way.-
An MTSO has an account to cover. Period. She will give the work to whomever is willing to be flexible enough to cover the account. Even an IC has to work within some framework, not just whenever I feel like it, right?
EMTS Great company steady work
Getting new work and accounts are sending more and more work.  Great people to work with.
Pay on time and accurate, work flow steady.

I've been trying to find a company with steady work
x
I've had steady work the past 2 days on
my primary account, but I'm pretty sure it only has to do with people being off. I don't think there has been any kind of major change for the greater good or anything. So I'm not getting excited. I'll be back at the soup kitchen probably next week - so someone save my seat!
Downside is that there's rarely a steady/even load of work everyday unless there's always a ba

Is the work flow pretty steady on the evening shift

Just started myself - steady work - and I do work

Some do and have good accounts and fully loaded ESL accounts
Take a look at what is happening in India. For the first time, workers there have money to get themselves into debt by buying high priced items (cars for example). They now protest lower castes being allowed into universities at almost double the previous allowance. Wait until they are highly in debt, begin to feel entitled to a wage equal to that paid inthe US and then, try to form unions, get tossed out into the street and sit back with some Ben and Jerry ice cream and watch the economy collapse and all that dictation come back across the ocean. Timing is everything.
QT gets my vote! I love it! Gross line pay, on time, 1 account, steady work! Great place!!!! nm

Strictly IC, good company, hard accounts, good platform.
Good pay, always on time, no direct deposit though.
Well it sounds like no work happens a lot at DSG. How are the accounts as far as decent accounts
and their QA.
Then be grateful you have good accounts, good MTs,
and a good system. Consider yourself lucky because most QA jobs aren't like that.
The best co. ever! Good work, good people, good pay, good bennies.

Good accounts. sm
They have both hospital and clinic/ERs.  I have encountered very, very, very few ESLs, okay, only one that comes to mind actually.  I do know they have a larger hospital account that has quite a few ESLs, as any hospital does these days.  I'm not on that account to give more specifics.    They have great accounts and are very flexible with your schedule and chosing your account.
My accounts are good
I have 2 accounts that keep me busy with both ASR and straight transcription. I have some ESL, but even the ESL dictators are pretty good.
I think you can get both good and bad accounts all over the US.
I have 2 west coast accounts. They both aren't too bad. In fact my hard west coast account is very comparible to my 2 east coast accounts (including my primary).

I think you can get both good and bad accounts all over the US.
I have 2 west coast accounts, and they are very similar to my 2 east coast accounts. In fact, my 1 west coast account seems easier than 1 of my east coast accounts :) I think it really just depends. I really enjoy all my accounts overall.
Looking for IC with 24-hour turnaround and good accounts....
Any recommendations?
