I currently work at JLG and love it. Great, user friendly platform.
They leave you alone to type.  Pay on time, never late.  Pretty well organized and good communication.  And they do not offshore!  I be sticking around.   Cubicles

Platform is easy to use, and the people are great to work with. sm
I only work there part-time, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.  Good luck on whatever you decide.
No complaints at all. Platform is super MT friendly. Great QA department.
Very happy at Medware.
Great place - ExText is easy to learn and user friendly. Good pay. Nice, COMPETENT people.
nm
Does JLG have nice accounts to work on and is their platform user friendly.
:
great place to work at - friendly QA - pay always on time
**
They use Dictaphone EX Text platform. Very user friendly and easy to work on.
It is all strictly internet based. No extra phone lines required. They do reimburse your high speed internet up to I think $40 a month, too.
Great people..AWFUL platform!!!nm

Great people to work for, but I had to leave due to lack of work. Hopefully that has changed. SM
Most of us who do not live in California had to go IC. When I was there, they did not have statutory status, although they told me they did when they hired me. Their pay for VR is VERY low, not a living wage. Many of the folks in the office are ex-YOG and great to work for/with. Good luck.
It is not the most MT-friendly platform, that's for sure, but if the company sm

is a good one, I wouldn't pass it up just because of Meditech.  I am using it for the first time, and after a month I no longer loathe it like I did, but I cannot honestly say it is my favorite.  It IS rather clunky and antiquated.  Fortunately, ShortHand works as an expander, so that helps, and one of the pluses of the Meditech system is the ability to access lab, medications, other reports, etc.

Good luck to you.  I am sure your trainer will have some helpful tips, or at least I hope so.

Staff is great-no work and too many platform issues.
nm
The people are great to work with
and the pay is good and on time. I do find the work isn't as steady as I'd like though, but hey, that's the MT business, right?
Platform is user friendly. P ay is good. sm
The accounts are good for experienced MTs.

I can't say I produce more on this particular platform, but it is MT friendly. I average approximately 300 lines an hour. That is not my best, as I have done 400 lines an hour on a different platform. It all depends on the dictators.

Good luck to you. If you need flexibility, a decent line rate and don't mind being SE without benefits - go for it.

I prefer SE or IC status, so it suits me just fine.
Is Chart Matrix an MT-friendly platform? How about
nm
Platform is extremely user friendly! They are one of the better
companies out there. I would suggest working for them and deciding for yourself.
MQ speech platform MUCH easier and MT friendly than TT's

Dictatphone Exspeech is just awful !!!!  You will see, I guarantee you  !!!

DQS is excellent editing platform.

Is TransTech platform user friendly?

Is it difficult to get lines there?

Thanks

First they use the Futurenet platform which is VERY user friendly.

however, there is a discrepancy in line counts.  They tend to try to use the line count that the FNET program gives.  I wrote down character count with spaces for each document and found that at the end of the day the FNET program shorted me anywhere from 50 to 75 lines per day.  The good news is you submit a line count sheet at the end of the pay period and they pay you off your sheet.  So if you keep track like I did, you won't get shorted.

My only beef with JLG was that I was hired in to do SR paid hourly and within weeks of being hired they breached their offer letter and contract and forced us all (all SR people) to go onto production, which would be fine except that the ASR program had just started and we were still teaching the engine, so you couldn't make any money on production because you were pratically transcribing the entire report. Then there was the game playing.  When we were hourly and management felt we weren't productive enough, they withheld work.  They wouldn't put any jobs in our queue for days at a time.  That didn't sit well with me.  I'm the kind of person that if you don't like something I'm doing, call me up and tell me.  Don't play passive-aggressive BS games!

I think they treat their MTs pretty well.  I just would be mindful of how some of the higher ups operate.  I think if you go in with your eyes open, you could make decent money on their platform transcribing.

Good Luck!

I work on a great platform, have good QA support and make

a lot more than 8 cpl.  I even have GREAT benefits, which are more than affordable.  There are good companies out there that pays for experience!!!!

I work for Allegiant too - great people and a

Good! Great people to work for!

The platform is super easy and user friendly. I have never had sm
any problems getting my lines...plus!
I love it here; easy platform, plenty of work, great communication

Friendly note to HR people:
I have 20 years of experience. It used to be relatively pain-free to switch jobs in this industry before everyone had Human Resources personnel... The job I just accepted did not call me for endless ridiculous interviews, all of the questions which were answered on my resume and application already. The test didn't take 6 hours. I didn't have to fill out the exact same info over and over again. When I asked a simple question via email, I received a quick simple response via email rather than having an HR person calling on the phone yet again to tie me up for another hour. I was job-shopping and comparing, so I don't have time to sit on the phone with every single one of them when all I need to know is do you hire employee status or IC, for example. You should also know that many of us have been working at home so long and are used to communicating via email & IM that we aren't really phone people anymore anyway. In short, one of the main reasons I went with this company is because the hiring process was pain-free, much like it used to be in the 'old days', so keep that in mind when you're wondering why you can't snag any new hires. Just something to think about....
Friendly note to HR people
The thing I object to in this hiring process is the 6-hour test. Many companies want you to transcribe 4-6 reports, plus an application of many pages. One company had me transcribe 2 reports, one of which was 4 pages long. The other report wasn't as long, but was really difficult to understand so I left a lot of blanks. After all this was done, they didn't get back to me to tell me how I did on my tests. She said I did fine, but if I was hired as an independent contractor, I would have to pay her $600 for her platform. Why couldn't she have put this in her job post that the job required we pay $600 for her platform. I would not have even taken the test.
Yep. Me too. Nice people, great place to work!
.
Worked for them years ag. GREAT people to work for. nm
.
Great place. People are super to work sm
with and answer your questions, etc.  Pay well and always on time.  If I ever work at home again, I will go back there first.
Great bunch of people, plenty of work sm
pay on time, around 9 cpl depending on account (without spaces) or 8 cents line (with spaces). Some accounts use long distance with Laniers others use Emdat, others use a different word-based platform that is real easy to learn.IC only, you commit to a set amount of lines per day, 24 hour turnaround time, they leave you alone to do your work. I would have stayed forever but I needed the benefits.
Transtech has great people but work has been low for 5 months...nm
nm
Escription is user friendly and 4 cpl is about average for that platform. You could easily do 400
lines an hour. Some people do even 500-600. Good luck with your decision. From what I know, it really is the best VR platform out there and I make more on that than  ever could straight typing.
I love the WMX platform. Extremely user friendly and fast. SM
I definitely do not have to enter a bunch of demographics, which is really a plus for me. I love it here, going on one year now!
Is Dolbey STAT Transcription Platform user friendly?

Been there 9 months and LOVE it!!! Plenty of work, good platform, great staff.
I finally found a home.
Easy platform, assigned accounts, always plenty of work. Great OM and boss. nm

Good accounts, great people, plenty of work. sm

I'm past that "honeymoon" stage of the first few months that another poster mentioned.  I still find them to be the best for me.  Never run out of work, always there for questions, including timely responses, great people (QA and otherwise).

I'd highly suggest contacting either your supervisor or Jane (as she offered) about lack of work.  As you should see on the daily reports, there is plenty of work out there.

Good luck & I hope it works out for you.

I love it there. Tons of work, great people. I am 100% happy.
x
Great bunch of people to work with, pay on time, my only problem is that QA is paid by line instead
of by the hour and you must listen to all reports 100% instead of just jumping and filling in the QA markers.
Yes, SPi does use this platform....it's a great platform, but not worth working for SPi. nm

System great, pay good, everything great, but most managers from old Edix, problems, poor people ski
when you are out of work, you are out of luck. If you are good at brown-nosing, are tough enough to be without any self-esteem, and have maybe money coming into the household on the side in case you tick someone off, then you may succeed, for a little while.

Don't ever ask questions or have problems with anything. Don't ever have a problem. Don't think you will have any control over anything you do, either.

A few 'good' managers remained when I left, but the new ones were all from the old Edix, and were completely into numbers, cared nothing for individual MTs...if there is work, you BETTER be working. If there no work, you will hear nothing, no one will help you.
Cquence is a Lanier system. It was okay but clumsy.
nm
Very nice company to work for... friendly and
good QA. It is sometimes difficult to get a high line rate though. Not sure why, but maybe because headers and footers are not paid for. They do pay for spaces however. Good Luck in your decision.
Great pay rate on a 55 ccl, great lady to work for and work is not tough. sm

It is all IC work, although you still are expected to give a schedule if you are doing stat coverage.  Only major drawback is the big wait for your first check -- almost a month from the time of your first invoice.

Good luck!

DSG is a good fit for me, management friendly, pay on time, occasionally running out of work is one
of my biggest complaints, but it is usually not for long, just enough to upset the routine.  Production incentive a plus.  Sound quality depends on the account.
I actually think DQS is a great platform, used by

Can't remember the third one.  I have worked on several different platforms and I think DQS is really easy once you get the hang of it, convenient with the ability to pull doctor's names into the report from the database, the ability to leave blanks and at the end let the audio jump immediately back to where the blanks are.  Other great features, too.

Platform is great, but (sm)
do read the contract carefully and know exactly what you'll be paid for when you *negotiate* your pay rate.
They have a great platform, but
line rates are not that great, so the below poster is right, negotiate for the best line rate you can get.  It takes longer to get your lines in when you are not paid for spaces, but if you can use your Expander a lot, that will help.  I am happy at Cymed.
It is a great platform.

Is a great platform. SM
Where ever you heard this from is wrong. Line counts are accurate.
Great platform
Take the time and learn every little trick and tip, when you go into your line count screen (alt x) you can just click on the shortcuts you are not using enough to make you more productive and it gives you a great tutorial on how to implement them, it took me a few weeks but then it all became natural and I'm doing an average of 600-800 lph depending on the dictators.

My platform is so great can just
sit here and let the pedal go, like taking candy from a baby, unbelievably easy. I make 98-99% every 3 months on QA so I guess mine is just as good if not better than most here. Management not complaining at all.
