It's grow up, not grow-up. Whose grammar/spelling
are you trying to correct?
A 3-day weekend every weekend? Wouldn't that be nice. Good luck with that!..nm

How can I get along with my co-worker.

I swear, I usually get along with most people but this one is trying my nerves.  This lady did not get along with the other transcriptionists.  She claimed they made too much noise, their hand lotion smelled (even though it was unscented), they shook the cubicle too much, always a complaint.  So what the boss do? She moves me and the this whinny lady to a little office all to our own.  I wasn’t complaining.  Anyway, the only thing I hear out of this office lady is either bragging about herself or putting one of the other Transcriptionist down.   She does put atmosphere in our office.  I had to get up and go pee.  She gives me a dirty look.  I say “what.”  Then she says I have this psychiatric disorder that I have to get up and down too much.  Another complaint she had about the other office girls, they were in an out of the office too much, never sat still.

Then, she starts complaining about this ESL she was transcribing for.  He is horrible, he needs to go back where he came from blah blah blah, I just chuckled a little.  SHE says “ITS NOT FUNNY, in-house employee.”  Then she starts in on how her neighbor in her apartment complex was making too much noise with his girlfriend last night.  I chuckled.  ITS NOT FUNNY, in-house employee. She had to walk further to her apartment.  I said why, she said “OBVIOUSLY SOMEONE HAD MY PARKING PLACE hospital employee.” Then she slammed something on her desk and went to typing.  I am sorry, I don’t know how to deal with this.

We usually have lunch together, although lately I have managed to back out.  She will embarrass me.  She happened to know “Dr. Bones”  (orthopedist) receptionist who was having lunch with his mom and pop.  She told mom and dad Bones that she transcribes for Bones and that Bones gets his left and right mixed up.  I don’t know why but that embarrasses me.  I don’t think she should be telling people that.  She will also stop docs in the hallway and talk about their dictation that we don’t have time for them flipping through papers, chewing gum or stuff like that.  Gosh, I wished one of them would put her in her place.  Thanks for letting me vent.
Tto the IRS worker
Thank you. I have had a 40-year career in this business, have always played fair with my boss, with employees (when I had them) and with the IRS. I just have no patience with people who try to either work off the books or to cheat their employees. I say, good for the IRS! I hope you get them!
Maybe we had the same co-worker? LOL!!!
When I was training in-house to be an MT, we had a woman who had worked there for many years. The hospital had just gotten new printers, HUGE contraptions with this big heavy plastic 'silencing' hood on huge hinges.

On day she was in a hurry to snatch something off the printer and the hinges were still tight from being new.

She lost patience VERY quickly, grabbed the entire plastic silencing hood off the printer, and threw it across the room.

I was temporarily a bit frightened, but everyone in the room started laughing so I figured it was par for the course for her.

Just to be on the safe side, though, I tried to stay out of her way when she was near anything heavy or sharp.

Ah, those were the days...I laugh about it even now!!!

I have always been an early worker but now..sm
there is NO work and when it does come in it seems everyone is waiting like me to grab it and then there is NO work as there were only a few reports. I addressed these concerns only to be told I needed to be more flexible.
NIGHT WORKER

Thank you for the clarification.  It is apparent that one of two scenarios is happening here.   You are either charging too little of your client, undercutting all competition, or you are keeping too much of the profits for yourself!!

Since you have direct contact with this client, why not train them to train the horrible, ESL, fast-talking dictator!!

BTW, I work the night shift, so the time I spend here is my own time, as if that is any of your business.

To hard worker
I was looking for the same thing and found it at Landmark. They have very high standards, are kind and decent people and best of all, they leave you alone to get your work done. In short, they treat their MTs with respect and like we are actually adults. I recommend them!
And you really should grow up!

Why do you stay at Amphion if you hate it so much and have such dislike of the people?  Seriously.  Make room for those that had to leave and didn't want to.  You are sitting where they want to be and then complaining about it and trashing them all while calling yourself a quiet mt.  makes no sense to me.  these economic times are hard for everyone, and you cannot keep blaming Amphion for needing to reduce staff, too.
Oh, grow up!!!
It's everybody elses' fault, right, that you are making what you made 20 years ago?  Face the fact that clients will not pay big bucks for MT services anymore.  Those days are over!!!
Grow up?

Oh so just because clients aren't paying what they used to that means I have to give even more of my money to a subcontractor who is providing a service to me by hiring for other companies.  Quit drinking the Kool-Aid already and catch a clue.  You obviously work for TTD and love being taken advantage of - good grief!  Start your own forum called MTs without a clue and I am sure you and your Kool-Aid friends will have a great time.

Oh grow up.
Saint Gourdpainter. Give it a rest.

Guess what. Most of us already HAVE gone through what the MDI folks are going through now. We just didn't take a week and a billion posts to commiserate about it.

Seriously, it's not like Huricane Katrina or 9/11 or something.

It's BUSINESS. **** happenes.

Deal!

And I second the motion to move the MDI/Transcend soap operate OFF the company board.

ENOUGH ALREADY!
Oh Grow UP!
Smoking cigars and drinking brandy?  What did you think you signed up for anyway?  Getting paid lots and lots of money to sit at home?  You get what you put into this.  If you want to get paid hourly, go work in-house.  If you want to get paid by production and have the freedom to work at home, don't expect to make big bucks, expect to make about what you would make working at a retail store.  Sadly, this is just a normal to low paying job now.  Take it or leave it, but give us all a break with the drama.
Can I e-mail a Transtech worker?
Can someone who works at Transtech post here so I can e-mail some questions that I don't want to ask on the board?
Absolutely. Worker drones. However with this
These worker drones have Rah Rah capabilities. Most stay silent though and take it. The minority speak out and get dumped on. Sounds like some kind of controlling atmosphere and if so, there must be something to hide. I don't know, but I won't be a drone, for nobody nowhere, no matter how great people say they are!
Never met the offending office worker
Thanks for the reply. I don't know why she would alter my reports unless she is jealous that I work at home and she doesn't. That can be a big reason for lots of people to try to undermine those of us smart enough and trained enough to work from home. I do have any attorney who is interested in taking it on contingency and he mentioned about the HIPAA violation element. Still pondering whether to make a big splash in this small town.
That sure is a RUDE way to treat a co-worker.
Actions like that usually do.
Possible at Webmedx for very fast worker. NM

I would say yes - the worker agreed to the terms.
When hired and by continuing their voluntary working, the worker is agreeing to the terms.

THINK AND GROW RICH
One size does not fit all. Be true to yourself and your abilities.
That's disgusting, 1000 US worker versus 600
that I gave Transcend the boot a few years back during their difficult times. They were awful to work for, and now I know why. This was all hush hush back then and still now. We're not supposed to have the intelligence to read the newspapers, let alone find the news.  Backstabbers for sure, and one of the biggest games in town, when they always screamed they would never do this to us.  Yeah, right. Go Transcend India!! And they don't even have the guts to call us US MTs - we're domestics.
Assimilate? What are we worker drones. Next thing you know
will only be given time to regenerate at the hive before we continue to assimilate others and continue to do the Queen's bidding. Is this perfection?
If you're a hard worker and a valuable MT, then yes it is
I have been there for 4 years and if I have ever had a problem (which is very rare), it has always been fixed RIGHT away.
You are kidding yourself. OSi is not growing. You cannot grow without
OSi wants to be big, but that will never happen because they will not listen to anyone about giving the MTs more instead of putting all the profits into their own pockets. All you get at OSi is your base line rate...that is it. Nothing extra for nights, weekends, holidays. They make you pay for the foot pedal and even the cheap spell checker.

You pretty much said it all when you said that OSi is choosy about who they invite to their parties!! How awful! When most companies have company parties, all employees are invited. That is pretty sad and pretty much says it all about OSi.
why don't you grow up and get a life you troll

Quit whining and grow up
So, you were fired from Spheris. Probably because you couldn't cut it. You get 90 days to make your production, and if after 90 days, you aren't producing, they will cut you loose. Why should they keep people like you, who are obviously bitter, and carrying a huge chip on your shoulder, when there are other so-called newbies, with good work ethics who want to work hard, and are willing to put in the time required to get the production required. 3 months is a long time to get used to an account, and build your production. There must have been more to your firing than what you state in your post.

Hopefully you will find employment elsewhere. But, I would urge you to change your attitude, lose the chip on your shoulder and grow up. Don't blame everything and everyone around you. Take a look at your production, skills, etc. and then ask yourself again, why Spheris let you go.
My guess - they'll grow until their #1 (sm)

I think sooner or later MTs will be forced to grow
backbones, because as the pay for MT work edges ever closer to 0 cpl, there comes a point where the MT will leave altogether or turn around and start swinging both fists. For quite a long time now, I've believed that the truth is, MTSO's don't really WANT the more costly American MTs. The sooner they can drive us all out, the sooner they'll have the excuse they've been waiting for in order to be able to just pack up and take it all overseas. Companies who actually want to RETAIN good employees just don't treat them the way MTs are treated.
I think your comparison is ridiculous and insulting. Try getting a farm worker's job and you'
nm
I learned a lot about MTSO from her post..not a job for me every..I'm definitley a worker bee.

Someones credit has absolutely nothing to do with how good a worker they are.
There are more people now days that have low credit scores compared to those that do not. A lot of different scenarios can put you with bad credit like major medical bills.

I don't think people should be judged on their work habits by something that may be beyond their control.
I have been with KS for a few years now and love it. They grow continuously without sm
losing accounts, so that is why they are always recruiting. The last information I saw was that they doubled in size between last year and this year and will do so again by this time next year.
Then they need to stand their ground, grow a spine,

Wow, grow up. You're a kid yourself with that immature response...nm

THE WEEKEND IS HERE

Is everybody working this weekend. We need everyone to be working because THERE IS NO WORK.

1 weekend day is okay, but
requiring both is a little much. No matter what schedule I work, usually with 1 weekend day, I get pestered to work all 7, or to do 2 or 3 hours over the 8 to 10 I did already. Some of these companies would have no problem having you sit at your keyboard with an an IV bag attached to you. :)~
I weekend
I am not surprised at all.
I can and I will this weekend....
You can send me one too....let me know how it's going so far.
Is it usually weekend OT -- sm
or weekday OT or a combination?
Weekend
If there is a shift differential, that is news to me.  I do not receive anything for nights or weekends other than regular pay.  Maybe it is something for new hires only??
Weekend usually seems better.
It always seems like Friday and Saturday are busy. Maybe everyone can make up some lines. I've had an okay week. Ran out of work here and there. I am just getting nervous as we approach holiday season and the hiring of the new employees. I am looking for a 2nd job right now.
no weekend work - sm
Sounds like Transcend!
