In Reply to: Anyone w/ FACTUAL info on MQ? - Tranny

some months back due to all the posts here that got me all nervoused-up -- i even interviewed for several companies and took another job on the side -- that i thought would be the near-perfect job...only to discover that MQ began to seem like a diamond, looked brighter, more solid and valuable. I quit my second job and decided i'd not worry about something before it ever came to pass -- i was looking for a job when i found this one and -- and i'll find another if i ever have to. I just got the call a few minutes ago about the 'packet'. Just relax for a few more weeks and hang in there -- you'll probably be glad you stayed. I sure wouldn't jump ship yet, til you have the new info (which will include a help desk # that i did get on request today...at the end of this week the help desk personnel will have the pertinent details to share.

They are going through some turmoil now - sm
with integrating a new system.  I'd wait a little and hopefully they can straighten themselves out but it seems like a mess.  I tried it with them on their old system and hated it and didn't like them much.  JMO so you might like it but I'd still wait a bit until they settle themselves into this new system.
My heart goes out to all of you in turmoil. sm

This merger should be of interest to all MT's.  I have never worked for either service, but I have been following the discussions to see how my fellow MTs are being treated by their companies, as well as other company discussions.  It could happen to any of us that work for MTSO's and has happened with a couple services I worked for.  Nobody is stopping anyone from starting new topics.  Just bypass the ones you are not interested in.  Don't you realize that this may be the only networking avenue these MTs have open to them right now?  Count your blessings if you work for a company that doesn't offshore.  Thankfully, mine doesn't.

If people had paid attention back in the 1970s and 1980s when our manufacturing base started eroding, jobs going to other countries, maybe we wouldn't be in such a sad state of affairs. Offshoring is nothing new, just new to medical transcription.  Millions of Americans (mostly blue collar) have lost their jobs to offshoring in the past 4 decades, but few paid attention because it wasn't their problem.
