I think Larry must have left that one out in the conference I was in yesterday. It is hard to know if issues are purposefully being clouded (so we don't leave right away) or if like you say, they just really don't know. I would like know to the truth about whether CB, DJ, etc did only find out a few days ago. I guess ultimately it really doesn't matter does it.

Yes, and even if they are saying IC and SE are available, you are right, everything is followed with the foreseeable future disclaimer, or I think or I believe. I know with MQ, eventually SE gave way to IC which gave way to total employee no choice, stay or go. .... ....

There have been job applications that want to know every single thing, even what were you doing when you were unemployed, and they want the dates for that. I have had people complain when I didn't. However, I would rather put job experience pertaining to the position I am trying to get.

You complain about MTSO's wanting to tell you when to work and how they will pay you, which is pretty standard in this industry, but then you complain about companies not paying a decent wage and no raises - now hear this - as an IC, you have to be willing to work when the work is available, for the going rate, and there are no wages and certainly no raises. You trade wages and raises for the freedom of not being an employee. It's like when you hire a plumber (an IC) - you don't want them coming to fix your sink at 3 a.m. just because they couldn't sleep, do you? Do you hear them complaining about their wages and asking for a raise? No, it's a business. Try acting like a professional and quit whining.

It's not an IC thing here...you try to pay all MTs low wages, like what we were making 20 years ago! What are you saying, you pay your employees more than your ICs? WRONG! You pay as little as you can to everyone to make more $$ for yourself.

And by the way, it is EXTREMELY professional to want to be paid what our skill set is worth...why do you think plumbers make over $25 and hour!?

In response to my query on MT Stars, an Execuscribe recruiter contacted me inviting me to take their online test.  I decided to search the archives for info about this company before going through the testing process.  The result was mixed reactions, but mostly positive.  Can anyone out there give me any current info on this company?  For one thing, do they still require you to have a C-phone?  Thanks in advance for your help!

my deep-seated distrust of all large companies of any type causes me to be worried. The call was upbeat, but I guess all we can do is wait and see what happens. This did kinda ruin my day, though.........

Ya know what? I started doing VR about 5 years ago mixed with standard and

really did okay, bout 80% VR.  Not sure what it is but lately the reports are coming in such a mess and such bad quality I am now not able to make a decent line count.  I believe  the push was on and they added facilities way too fast without everything being in place and lots of docs needing to learn how to use the durn thing and the system not used to the dictators (and with some dictators never will) that these accounts are now really so bad MY counts are even way less on VR  than they were 5 years ago.  The system has to have so many reports in to make the words come up correctly in future reports but is supposed to eventually get used to things.  But like I said, way to big a rush and push for VR and I don't believe companies or the system were ready. 


BUT the sellers of these systems who make quite the profit don't care and the MTSOs certainly don't care that we make such a pittance being paid by the line or if we can pay our bills and probably never will.  As MTs, we are certainly taking the brunt of all of this.  Pathetic.  Wonder what they will all do when more and more MTs move on to a job they can make a living at and the hospitals tell them they can't offshore???

Someone just asked about Task. There are a few replies below. I was one of them who got interviewed, but as soon as she got on the phone with me she wanted more of a time committment. I can tell you they're lookin for someone to give at least 20-40 hours per week. Good luck.

Is it ok to post fun messages?

I have a fun question ask everyone:  what (and yes I am saying what not who we don't want names) What was the worst doctor you had to type for?  I have typed for doctors from Bolivia, Portugal, and Czech all with English as their second language..  I could do them just fine after I figured out the basics.  The worst doctor I ever typed for was from Texas.  WOW could that man garble a sentence and fast - oh my gosh he talked fast.  English was his first and only language.

I suppose all the Indians will be cussing us out as the work gets offshored back to the shores.

Although, and even though we joke, to a degree that has happened in some industries already. While they still maintain the largest portion of things like the tech industry, a noticeable portion has started to be offshored to places like the Ukraine and parts of Africa as the Indian wages have risen to fill the demand for employees.
I've heard mixed things about MediTech platform...can anyone weight in on (sm)

They show a total lack of restraint. Every reply speaks volumes about the company.

No emotional control? (that I'm sorry I said anything tone.)

MTs, where there is no discipline displayed in public, there will certainly not be any in private after you're with the company. This should be extremely educational. Why anybody but the absolute newbies would go with this company after these recent posts is beyond me.

I know with Yahoo you can save messages
to your computer.  You would have to play around to find it, but I know it's there because I can see all of my past msgs and they are time/date stamped.
I click on the related messages and there
are about a dozen.  If you will click on one of those links there are usually several other posts where others have responded to the same questions you are asking.  Someone has started a private Transtech board within the last few weeks, but there is tons of stuff about Transtech on MTStars.

if what you mean by looking for more is you want someone to tell you it's great, then here - IT'S SO GREAT, I MAKE MAD MONEY THERE, they let me work whenever I want and there is always tons of work and OT offered on all these easy accounts with normals.  I think I'll retire with this company.

I have to believe there are some major problems
Some key players resigning and all the messing with wages. Makes you wonder. I have quit so I don't have to worry about it.

They used to pay $10.00 per hour for the first 90 days and then put you on production. Yikes.

Doesn't matter to me--with all the overtime available at Amphion, it's pretty easy to whittle down using PTO to a couple of hours instead of 7 or 8.  But more importantly to me is that as long as I don't have to work the major holidays that are most important to my family--Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Year's--I'm a very happy camper.  I was an IC for a long time before Amphion and was able to take my very first vacation in 5 years last year.


It just depends on what is most important to each individual.

For a small company like that, that is probably a good starting rate.  Where did you graduate from?  Webmedx takes new graduates for more than that.
I think there is a major flaw
in your thinking when you say something like DRC would allow themselves to be smooth talked by a company. I just think that is a very odd thing to say. On the other hand, go on your merry way - it might mean more work for me! And if speaking intelligently and rationally or seeing a bigger picture makes me sound like management then I guess it's better than sounding like someone who has given up on their job before they even know the reality of what is to come or someone making blanket statements and judgments that do little except invite more of the same. I don't know the future. Acusis may well be the new Evil Empire, but until that is revealed to me personally I opt not to assume it to be the case. I guess optimism is a luxury I have; to each his own. I have no fear of finding work elsewhere with my numbers, I just don't see the need to quit before anything has started.

Most other companies have a minimum of 5500-6000 lines. How dumb does that company think MTs are? Whatta buncha c__p.
Yep, just one more of the lies. Major
account was VERY unhappy when they found out work was going to India, which is one of the main reason they lost it.  See what it cost them in the end though.
