Can anyone tell me what ever happened to a company called MEDIFAX? They had offices all over, but I believe their main office was in Kansas at one time.

I used to work for Medifax and the guy runs the company like Hitler. Other than that it is a good place to work, employee only.

Medifax, MRC (Medical Records Corporation) and Medquist (formerly Transcriptions Limited) were 3 separate companies. Medifax merged with MRC (mid 90s I think), Transcriptions limited became Medquist (early 90s I think) and Medquist acquired MRC. I know this because at one time or other I worked for all of them.

I'm not aware of a new company with the name Medifax but since they merged with MRC and were then sold to Medquist, I doubt there is any law against the use of the name. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be the same owners as the original Medifax company as I believe those previous owners are involved with another MT company, maybe Spheris, I forget.

 yes, I used to work for them. They do strictly ER and you do not have to have another COMPUTER! Anyway they are employee only and I am trying to get back with them, just wondering if anyone else has worked or heard anything about them.

There is a Medifax located in Elmhurst, IL. I worked for them about 14 years ago..at that time they did strictly ER, not sure about now. It is owned by a group of ER physicians, and definitely has no connection at all to Medquist. Here is their website... http://www.medifax.net/about.htm

Yes they are in Elmhurst. The guy that runs it is NOT, I repeat, NOT a doctor. All of the previous employees that were there quit because of him.
MedQuist used to be Medifax in early 90s
Unless there's another company with same name.
